Comfort Dental - North Lakewood

Fantastic experience: *Update* After speaking with Jessica, the practice manager, I decided to continue care with Comfort Dental. I was scheduled with a different Dental Hygienist, Patrick, and he is an exceptional clinician, literally everything you want in a healthcare provider. Patrick is kind, attentive, gentle, knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor, and is highly skilled. I cannot say enough about how he turned my experience into an extremely positive one. He is an invaluable asset to Comfort Dental and is the deciding factor for my staying with this practice. *Initial Review* I had my new patient exam today; I chose this clinic because I've had very traumatic experiences with dentistry as a child and hoped this would be a better place to recieve care. The Dental Assistant was wonderful and caring, the Dentist was kind and gentle, however, the Hygienist was lacking in bedside manner and empathy. The Hygienist was the only care provider that didn't introduce himself, he ignored me while he chatted with the Dental Assistant, who eventually introduced the Hygienist to me. The Hygienist was very heavy handed with the gum exam, I was in a lot of pain but he never checked in with me. The Dental Assistant noticed I was suffering and asked me if I was ok, at which point the Hygienist stopped the exam, I said it was painful and he said "ok we can lighten up on the pressure". I called the clinic back and told them I wouldn't allow that Hygienist to treat me again, but I'm unsure at this point if I'll keep my future appointments. I would appreciate direct communication with the owner so I can address these concerns.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth extracted by Dr. May and his Jasmine, they were absolutely wonderful. Explained each step clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure, really helped calm my nerves. The procedure itself went smoothly and much easier than I expected. The entire staff were all so friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience easy and stress-free. I’m very grateful for the excellent care from the entire team!

Fantastic experience: My name is Willie, I am a regular customer at Comfort Dental clinic in Lakewood. I have been treated by three dentists at Comfort Dental, each of them as good as the other. The entire staff is professional and caring. As I am being treated, I am constantly asked If I am ok. When my treatment is done, we talk about what I want done next. Doc tells me his best recommendation, all of my questions are answered and I actually look forward to my next visit. But for the fact that anything can be improved, I onlu give 4 stars. Comfort Dental is comfoting.

Fantastic experience: This is an updated review. I’ve been going there for a few years. Really love the staff there particularly my hygienist Patrick. Always kind and encouraging about how I take care of my teeth and giving me helpful suggestions on how to improve. I was there yesterday and saw a different dentist, he caught some issues with a crown of mine and offered an option to helping it last. He was very thorough and I really appreciated that. I have nothing but good things to say about Comfort dental. Don’t want to go anywhere else for my dental care.

Fantastic experience: I had my establish care appointment. They called me back quickly. Everyone was friendly. The dentist made sure to explain what my plan would be moving forward. The lady you took me back was also very kind, maybe the hygienist not sure though. The lady who helped me schedule my next appointment was great to. Most friendly office I've been to in forever. Glad I found them.

Fantastic experience: I was very satisfied with the care received. I've never been happy about going to dentist but they were very thorough, asked detailed questions, answered all questions. They were thorough and compassionate. Explaining a lot regarding my dental problems, care, options now & various future options I have as well as how my insurance may work with various proposed care. I'm so glad I went to them and look forward to teaming up with them for my future dental care! Thank you I'm satisfied with the care given. Fantastic experience: This clinic is amazing. I went in as a new patient for a rear molar I was having trouble with. They quickly identified the problem that my wisdom tooth was cracked by having me run through some simple tests. They presented me with a couple of solutions and explained them to me in detail along with the cost points, and financial solutions available. They were genuinely concerned about answering any questions I had. This dental clinic has an amazing staff and helped me with my concerns and needs, and I felt comfortable the whole time, hence the name “Comfort Dental”

Fantastic experience: So sweet, sad to admit that I have not been to a dentist in about 6 years I get really anxious about dentist and doctors and usually find any excuse to not go, but the dental assistant was so sweet and asked me about myself made it personal and made me feel much better, my dentist was super nice too didn’t make me feel nervous at all, I found out my neglect of my mouth was pretty bad but I didn’t feel shamed in anyway by either of them we got a game plan down to start fixing things and they told me ways that can make the experience more comfortable like headphones and a blanket (I will definitely do that) and told me exactly what to expect, I’m not really that nervous anymore and I have my first two appointments set up to go back very soon, I’m so happy I found this dentist and happy i went and have a plan ❤️

Fantastic experience: I don’t generally enjoy going to the dentist because of past experiences. From beginning to end, everyone I interacted with with were nice, understanding, willing to answer any questions, and made me feel comfortable through the whole appointment. They didn’t ask questions just to not listen, they didn’t try to “oversell” me on treatment, they didn’t say a bunch of terminology without explaining, and they didn’t make me feel bad about my current dental care. I have appointments coming up and I don’t feel any of the major anxiety that I usually do when having to go to the dentist.

Negative experience: Our 16 year old is undergoing braces next door (love them!), and so we choose to use the convenience of Comfort Dental Lakewood for her other dental appointments. Big, big, mistake. Do not take your children here! We are completely frustrated, angry and shocked by the lack of professionalism and time management whenever scheduling dental appointments (which are accompanied by needing to have her wires taken off first and then put back on afterwards). On not one, not two, but THREE such appointments this clinic has made her late for the ortho appointment and then blames the orthodontist for not squeezing her in. Today, this lack of professionalism resulted in her sitting waiting for 2 hours because her orthopedic appointment had to be rescheduled because she missed it by half an hour. She was not Numb through the last part of her appointment, and so she was in pain, tired, and hungry. A 16 year old shouldn't sit in a doctor's office from 8:00 a.m. until after 2:00 p.m. for a few fillings that were on the same side of her mouth. If I could give them zero stars, I absolutely would. It would be based on improperly medicating, refusing to check her numbness, ignoring her pain tolerance.....and lack of compassion and flexibility to accommodate accompanying dental appointments. This isn't their first time mismanaging the appointments. There are other dentists in the area who are not going to pull this nonsense. Take your children somewhere else. As an adult, I've also visited this practice and had the same dentist to work on me, and a simple root canal that should have only been a few hours took over 6 hours. I was in pain, they said they called in pain medication, and my husband was 3 hours on the phone after hours trying to reach someone because it was never called in. For us four strikes you're out

Have had several appointments with Dr May and Staff with fantastic results. Had an implant and crown done which went extremely well due to Dr May’s skilled hands. The lab work (crowns and implants) are the best quality I have ever had. They also offer sedation dentistry if necessary.

Fantastic experience: I enjoyed my time at the dentist was there for cleaning and treatment planning update also was checked for cancer of the mouth it's nice to feel my opinion on what my mouth needs matters. Service was above and beyond my expectations.

Fantastic experience: I developed a tooth abscess over the weekend. It was on a tooth that had a crown placed in December. I am very grateful that Dr. May was able to do a root canal this afternoon and save the tooth. I really wanted to avoid an extraction and a subsequent implant. My mouth feels great, compared to how painful and swollen it was over the weekend. I could not be more pleased with Comfort Dental - North Lakewood. I was very glad that Dr. May could see me there today even though I usually go to the Port Orchard office.

Cleaning was quick and painless. Can't believe I am going blank on the wonderful young man who did the cleaning. He is so impressive. He even took a moment to help me look at a few water picks online. It's been around 2 years since my implants, and still so happy. I got braces since my implants, and as soon as I am done I will be getting a mouth guard. I grind so hard I even ruined a couple of my Invisalign. I wasn't going to because back in the day the were so big I never wore it. They should me what they are now and they aren't much thicker than a Invisalign but are tougher for people like me. Love you guys ❤️

Fantastic experience: The best experience I have had with the dentist. I went in for an emergency extraction, and was seen the same day. I currently don’t have a dentist, because I had an awful experience in the Tacoma area. Everyone here was so polite, and kind. Not to mention they are affordable, and provide efficient care. Negative experience: “I am extremely disappointed with the experience my wife had at this dental office. From the moment we walked in, the staff seemed disorganized and unprofessional. The wait time was far too long, and when she finally saw the dentist, he was rushed, inattentive, and didn’t explain anything clearly. Not only did the treatment cause her unnecessary discomfort, but we were also charged for services that were never properly explained. It’s frustrating to see a lack of care and consideration for patients. We will not be returning and would not recommend this place to anyone. Terrible experience all around.”

Negative experience: This place was a mess. I had to wait forever even though I had an appointment, and the staff acted like they didn’t care. The dentist rushed through everything and didn’t bother explaining what was going on. I felt super uncomfortable during the procedure, and they didn’t do anything about it. On top of that, they overcharged me, and the bill made no sense. Honestly, I wouldn’t go back here even if it was free.

Fantastic experience: Dr. May is not only professional and very skilled, but also gentle and willing to work around the challenges I have. He also took the time to explain in detail the dental work I need, which I much appreciated. And Sean, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth also took the time to be very thorough, for the best cleaning I've ever had. Larissa and the other technician (I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name) who took the X-rays were wonderfully patient having to deal with my obtrusive gag reflex; thank you both for that. Although I can't say it was enjoyable, it was by far the best experience I've ever had at the dentist.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Comfort Dental for several years. Today, at work, I chipped my front tooth. Comfort Dental got me in right away. I didn’t think I needed to get a shot to have it fixed but I did. Dr. May knew how scared I am about shots, especially in the front top. He put the numbing meds on then the shot. I was so scared but I didn’t even feel it! It was amazing! I’m going to get the rest of my dental work done ASAP! Thanks so much Dr. May and staff! Highly recommend to all of the scaredy cats!

Fantastic experience: Comfort Dental, North Lakewood office. I've had a lot of dental work done here lately. Everything from cleanings, x rays, bridge work, cavities filled, and a new mouth guard. It all went well, with no panic attacks or any other issues. Dr.Jared Coudron does amazing work. He is gentle and highly skilled. I'm very happy with the quality of the work. Would highly recommend him and his staff. Also, the prices were a lot lower than some others. March 7, 2025

Fantastic experience: As I shared with staff, I’ve been waiting on a cleaning appointment for THREE WHOLE MONTHS at another office. TODAY, I noticed the sign as I drove by, took a chance, signed up, received a cleaning, X-rays and another appointment for some fillings IN ONE VISIT! Staff was great, informative and entertaining. I’ve found MY NEW DENTIST!

Fantastic experience: Came in for an emergency root canal last Saturday, due to my other dentist office brushing me off repeatedly and rescheduling my appointments. It got to the point where I was willing to drive anywhere just to make the pain go away. I am so glad I did. Dr. May and his team were so helpful and understanding of my situation, and were able to squeeze me in despite having a tight schedule. Initially I was terrified to have a root canal done, but Dr. May and his team made me so comfortable and did their work so swiftly and gently I didn’t feel a thing! I also enjoyed Dr. May thoroughly explaining and drawing out what was wrong with my affected tooth, and what procedure was needed. I am happy to say my tooth is healing perfectly, and I am so thankful for Dr May and his staff. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: This was truly a "comfort" experience. I will tell you that I have hated going to the dentist for 60 years. I've been fortunate to have good teeth, but even a cleaning is a 'white knuckle' experience. I hate the picking water spray, air spray...and I am a wreck in the chair trying to be calm. This was the very first cleaning in my life where I was actually be calm. The process was opposite to any other I've experienced and even the air and water sprays were gentle. My hygienist was Patrick and every step of the process was relaxed and stress free. If dentistry is traumatic for you, give this practice a try. I used the location on 75th in Lakewood next to Starbucks. I couldn't believe that it took me all these years to find Comfort Dental.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and helpful. New patient process was very easy. The provider was very helpful and knowledgeable. He was able to look at my tooth and knew what needed to be done. I would recommend him to my friends and family.

Fantastic experience: I want to update my review, yesterday I had 7 fillings done and I get alot of anxiety at the dentist. They were able to help me with a prescription and the most Impressive part to me was that the dentist noticed and heard me when I told him I needed extra time for the novacain to work. Most dentist don't believe me and will start drilling and be upset that I am in pain. This dental company is very respectful. Wonderful staff and service! Pricing is really good to.

Fantastic experience: I couldn't have asked for better care today. I had an emergency and my normal dentist decided to close for the new year for several days. I called comfort dental and got right in same day. Dr Coudron helped make the pain go away. His staff was awesome. Larissa stayed by my side checking on me and talked me through things and Patrick was so sweet and great at his job. Dr Coudron showed expert care and it's apparent he actually cares about people. I'm grateful they were there to help me today in my time of need. I came in crying and left out of pain and I won't be back to my old dentist again because I think I found a better team at this location

Fantastic experience: As someone who hasnt been to the dentist in a very long time, believe me when I say they make it so much easier to want to come back! The entire staff was polite and very caring from the front receptionist to the dentists in the back. Not judgmental and impolite. I had a bottom molar extraction on Monday and I was beyond nervous. They made me feel very at ease and comfortable and got it out no issues. I unfortunately got an infection and had called them today (friday) and explained what was going on. They got me back in and was seen fairly quickly. I'm now on the mend and am very grateful. Looking forward to getting my teeth back to good health at this location going forward. Thank you to the entire staff.

Fantastic experience: Dr Coudron is an amazing dentist. He takes his time he’s polite and takes lot of serious thought into his work and takes the patients concerns into his consideration of the treatment plans. He polite and funny! Makes me feel so comfortable. He very methodical with all concerns. The back staff is amazing and they truly care about the patients. Best dentist I’ve ever been too and I highly recommend this office. They work with insurance and make sure you don’t pay anything more than you need to out of pocket. Fantastic experience: Honestly, I really enjoy Comfort Dental North Lakewood. The staff is amazing they all are very nice and most of all they actually do care about you and your health. They honestly do go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend this Dentist office. if you want to go to a Dentist office that cares about you this is the place.
