Greenberg Dental & Orthodontics: Reviews
Negative experience: Insurance or no insurance go somewhere else. They upsell you unnecessary deep cleaning for outrageous fees. They refuse to do regular cleaning. The only thing they're good at is cleaning out your wallets with unnecessary services They recommend unnecessary procedures. Go somewhere else I will never do business with them again.
Negative experience: Greenberg is a dental factory designed to maximize their profit without any concern for their patients. They were 28 minutes late seeing me for my morning appt - no apologies, they simply do not care. Staff and dental hygienist were blatantly rude. I saw the dentist for exactly 6minutes - for which they charged $120. No cleaning with that visit, I have to come back under a different appointment for that. Equipment is ancient - it looks like they bought it on ebay from the Soviet Union. I asked why they can't schedule the next 6 month cleaning at the end of a visit, and they simply replied that "they can't do that". Dentists have been doing this for over 50 years. Avoid this place!
Negative experience: I don't advise anyone to go here if you have insurance or not All they do is charge for cleaning they don't care about your teeth. I started going to Aspen dental they're amazing
Negative experience: I’ve had such a horrible experience with them... They’ve showed unwillingness and no genuine care for patients. They’ve failed to document conversations and then blame the patients. I would not recommend this office or Dentist. She’s rude and not willing to make things right. It’s so sad to have seen, and experienced this. Do Better. Be better.
Negative experience: Never been treated so horribly as I have by this office! I took my young daughter here for the first time for an exam and the doctor suggested a treatment plan for her and I said I would like to think about it before confirming I called back two months later and decided to go along with her plan only to be told by the front desk Tina lady that the Dr no longer will see my daughter because I didn’t “agree” with her treatment plan the day I was there and now it’s “too late”?? After I stated I do agree and would like to proceed with getting her teeth taken care of she then said I’m not gonna argue with you and hung up on me ! So unprofessional rude and down right ridiculous to turn away a patient needing to be seen for no real reason ! Never will go to any Greenberg offices again from now on will go somewhere else! BEWARE patients DO NOT come first here !
Fantastic experience: hands down one of the best dental offices i visited in my 38 years of life and dr new one of the best as well , they have taken good care of me been very gentle and so so patient and so understanding i just got a procedure done this week and it went so smooth and well and once again they where so patient and gentle with me thank you guys so so much also shout out to the front desk staff as well they are all very nice and sweet i appreciate you guys!
Negative experience: The clinical staff were very unprofessional. I felt uncomfortable the entire time I was there.
Fantastic experience: I broke my molar and Dr Dougherty saw me the same day. Did a wonderful job and very professional, and not even the shot hurt! Her assistants where great and caring. Great office.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Doherty does excellent work. My grandchildren love her, too.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this office! My daughter is 10 and they make sure she is comfortable as possible! And everyone was awesome, from front desk to xray the doctor and the cleaning lady went so smoothly! Thank you!
Negative experience: What a miserable place. Avoid. If only I read these reviews earlier…
Negative experience: I recently had to switch to this practice after my dentist retired. The dental hygienist at the DeLand location complains the entire time I am there that I need to come every 4 months instead of every 6 months. I've always had cleanings every 6 months and that is what my insurance covers. The dental hygienist threatens that, if I don't come every 4 months, I will probably need a deep cleaning. I have always had sensitive teeth and I HATE the water pick. He doesn't care. While I am wincing in pain, he again tells me that it's my fault because I haven't come every 4 months. If my teeth are so bad, why does the cleaning only take him 10 minutes? And he doesn't even floss my teeth. Then, the dentist doesn't come in after the cleaning to check my teeth. Instead, after the 10 minute cleaning, I am told to sign a paper that I am acknowledging that I will only come every 6 months. At the end of my appointment, I try to schedule my next visit and am told that this office doesn't schedule ANYONE 6 months out and that I need to call in 2 months to make an appointment. Hopefully, I can find a different dentist who is in network.
Negative experience: I went in for a regular cleaning. I declined x-rays so the assistant said then we can't help you. I replied," last year I asked if I needed my previous xrays all within 6 months. One was panoramic. They said we can't use them. Well insurance only covers panoramic every 3 years so to make a.long story short the hygienist did a pocket check of my gums within 1 minute when any other one took at least 10 minutes. Said I needed Deep Cleaning. It totaled like $750.00 Half of my dental benefits when I get 2-3 cleanings,x-rays, and fluoride treatment covered each year! Today I finally agreed to x-rays as it was time for my regular cleaning. Then the assistant said, we'll schedule a cleaning ? I said this was the reason for my appointment. I had been there 1 hour for the 5 minute or less xrays but had other appointments to get to.she had me sign a paper which I thought was just acknowledging what was done. I got to checkout and receptionist says $33.00. I said insurance covers it, I just need a cleaning appointment. First we need payment. I said bill insurance. She goes we won't schedule a cleaning then didn't you read the paper you signed? No , I didn't. You dont read what you sign? No I've had head injuries and been disable, I didn't read it she asked me to sign it. We'll bill you but no cleaning till it's paid. So I'm leaving and I hear her laughing and telling another staff member, " she's disabled- haha" I turned around and said you think thats funny? And left. A few wrong emplyees can ruin a practice. Very upsetting and unprofessional.
Negative experience: Seems like they keep booking the appointments just to keep making more money instead of worrying about my teeth and what really needs to be done and get it done! My daughter is a paramedic and all the EMTs and paramedics and firefighters will not go to this Greenberg Dentistry I'm also joining the bandwagon I stopped going there
Negative experience: This place has great dental hygienists staff but you're lucky if you can get an appt scheduled to begin with. They never answer the phone & won't call back when you leave a message to reschedule an appt. 4 years ago: It's been a complete nightmare the past 2 wks with this office. I went to Greenberg dental for them to tell me their pediatric orthodontist doesn't take liberty ins today after I spoke to a receptionist on the phone Monday for what my kid needed & didn't bother to mention anything or ask anything. Then I find out to have her tooth extracted is only done by an oral surgeon. The nurse tells me the office in Deltona has a pediatric orthodontist that she needs to see as well. So I drove there since they don't ever answer the phone just to find out they don't! last week the female DENTIST there had told me my kid needed to see an endodontist first & that the office had a pediatric one. I get a phone call a few days later telling me they have to cancel the appt because he doesn't see anyone under 12. No one there knows what the hell to do! It was so much smoother and easier to get my Childs freaking heart surgery scheduled than a tooth extraction or orthodontist appt!!
Negative experience: I called 3 different times for 3days in a row, to schedule an appointment. I left 3 different voice mail messages, with my name, number and reason for calling, because no one ever picks up the phone. No one ever returned my call. I will find another dentist. obviously my business is not important to them.
Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of Greensburg Dental in Port Orange and DeLand for 15 years. Love these people. Dr Nguyen is a wonderful dentist and Dr. Tommie Burkfield is a to notch oral surgeon. Wonderful bedside manner. His assistant John makes you feel very comfortable. All the staff is great.
Negative experience: After reflecting on a distressing experience, I'm sharing my concerns. I arrived with my nephew, whom I've raised for 12 years, and after waiting 45 minutes, we were told the dentist would NOT see us due to alleged "missed" or "no-show" appointments. When I requested the dates of these supposed missed visits, the staff refused, claiming they lacked access. This accusation is untrue--while we've rescheduled or canceled appointments due to illness, we've never missed one without notice. I believe this is a tactic to dismiss long-term Medicaid patients. Our family has been with this practice since my now-adult daughters were young. This shameful behavior should be reported to the state to protect young Medicaid recipients. Sincerely, a heartbroken guardian.
Negative experience: Called Deland office for appointments for my family and who ever picked the phone DID NOT HELP ME. She gave me a few excuses, so I told her is fine I’ll figure out año place. Wondering if she treated me that way bc I asked if she speak Spanish
Negative experience: I went one day to get a broken tooth pulled and they gave me antibiotics. The lady told me I could go any day for an emergency appointment. But then they told me I have to make an appointment to have them look at me to see if I'm pretty and then another appointment so they can supposedly pull it out. I'm still in pain and I've been at it for a month now. I'm looking for a doctor who can treat me. Another thing is that they don't answer the phones they have in their record. I suggest you call from another phone so you can see that they're not answering on purpose.
Negative experience: I called this morning to cancel my appointment because something came up, the woman who answered took my last name and asked me to hold but ended up hanging up on me instead. I tried to call back but no answer. After this experience, I won't be scheduling with them again. I should have read the reviews first.
Negative experience: Just got off the phone with “Lisa” who says they return messages within 30 minutes, every time. These reviews say different “Lisa”. When dealing with a dental emergency, there is ZERO need for snarky attitude, especially coming from the provider.
Fantastic experience: For 15 years, I avoided regular dental cleanings due to poor oral hygiene habits like smoking, not flossing, and eating excessive candy, coupled with a deep fear of the dentist. At Greenberg Dental, I had three separate appointments, and every single staff member was incredibly kind and understanding, addressing my dental anxiety with care. Before scheduling, the entire process was thoroughly explained, which made me feel at ease on the day of my appointment. Back in December 2023, I visited Aspen Dental and was told I had five cavities, needed a bridge for a front bottom tooth, and required a deep cleaning. This overwhelming diagnosis heightened my anxiety, and I avoided the dentist until a gum infection forced me to seek care in August 2024. At Greenberg Dental, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I had zero cavities and that my bottom front tooth could be saved. I was convinced my front tooth was beyond saving, believing the black discoloration at the bottom meant I’d be stuck with an unappealing tooth forever, or worse, it would fall out. Imagine my surprise when, after my cleaning, it was completely white again! I was so overwhelmed with happiness that I literally cried. The deep cleaning was relatively painless, and the dentist consistently checked on me throughout the procedure. No one judged me for being a smoker or for my past poor oral care habits. Instead, they offered supportive advice and practical tips on how I can maintain my teeth and gums with healthier habits moving forward. I’m so grateful for their professionalism and genuine care, and I will now make regular dental visits a priority. This office truly has the patient's best interests in mind, not just profit.
Fantastic experience: I had called multiply times and was never able to get in touch with anyone. So I brought my 7yr old son into the office in hopes to get an appointment for him to be seen .The woman at the front desk seen I was in a panic and not sure what else to do to help my son. I did have to wait which was fine. Tammy was amazing with my son. She made very comfortable and at ease for the doctor to come and start her exam. Both ladys where great with us. Thank you.
Negative experience: Needed to use the bathroom and was told I can't use the bathroom or I would miss my appointment. I was early to my appointment and was still told I would be skipped because "he has a schedule to keep".
Negative experience: I am very disappointed with this dental office. They did a filling on my son that was too deep, causing him severe pain and an abscess, which ultimately led to the tooth needing to be removed which I chose to pay out of pocket for by a different dentist. When I returned to this office for a cleaning, I requested no more fillings. Instead of respecting my request, the DENTIST told me to go back to the other dentist for cleanings as well. They are very careless and this was so unprofessional. I would rather pay out of pocket for my kids dental work than come back here with insurance. I expected better care for my child.
Negative experience: My son (20yr old) had an appt for a routine cleaning … when he got there they told him he need a deep cleaning with a special medicine. Mind you his teeth are beautiful and he has had his 6 month check ups all his life… he tried saying he didn’t think it was necessary but the lady convinced him the deep cleaning would be better - after she did the bottom teeth she told him he needed to come back for the top. It cost $221 for that visit and he would need to pay the other half next visit. Mind you we have Tricare - dental quest all normal stuff is covered - he was a nervous wreck and called me, said he thinks he just got scammed. I went there and tried to talk but this lady ZEE said it didn’t matter if he was on my insurance he was a grown up and could make decisions for himself. I tried explaining he had been to the dentist his whole life and never had this issue but she would not listen and was rude, nasty and of course said it was the end of the day they going home she wasn’t gonna get a manager. They are cons
Negative experience: Front desk lady with long brown hair is unprofessional, no bedside manner, looks very miserable, did not look up to speak.I went to the bathroom & my kids had been called in,I asked front desk where they were twice because they didn't bother looking up to acknowledge me,when finally one of them spoke up. Dr. Doherty & her asst.were great but then my son got a lightning flash cleaning that I'm sure wasn't done right, made us feel like numbers and they were very much like robots. I hope it gets better,we didn't set out to be treated like this. Do better or quit, seriously.
Negative experience: The front desk woman is always rude and unprofessional. She argues with children about payments without speaking to the parents and refuses to check them in even if the policy states that they still need to be seen. Very argumentative when asked not to speak to my child about finances to just check him in. Every time myself or my husband comes in with my children she is always rude and unprofessional. My son stated that when being seen she runs in and out of the rooms gossiping about our interaction and my child. I do not know why she is still employed there . Many complaints filled against this woman .
Negative experience: the sign in sheet at the front desk says “we cater to cowards!” … that in itself is a really bad look on their end lol. it’s rude and quite frankly insulting to people with genuine fears and worries when it comes to getting dental work done.
Negative experience: I am currently sitting in the front office awaiting my appointment. I stood in front of the office staff member, Jerri, for roughly a minute and she did not respond to me. She finally said to me without looking up to sign in and take a seat. This is the second occasion that the same office staff member has had that type of interaction with me. If this happens again with the same staff member I will not return.
Fantastic experience: shiju sherian did my 2 root canals today and he did a great job very reassuring and took his time with everything, and his dental assistant juan is very nice highly recommended them both!
Negative experience: Very disappointed went there because they said they take my insurance come to find out they don't they done unnecessary things anyway the doctor was very rude and said for me to make another appointment waited a day before I was supposed to come to my appointment to tell me my insurance doesn't cover it and when I asked them why and the receptionist told me to figure it out for myself Iam not one to complain but my time is just as valuable as there's I will never step foot in this place again
Negative experience: Cleaning took literally under 14 minutes (not an exaggeration) and at the end, no dentist came in to check. Usually the dental hygienist cleans, then the real dentist comes in to check your teeth and look for cavities and things like that. Not here. 14 minute cleaning, no flossing, and that’s it. Will not be going here again. It’s rushed, like they don’t care, and you don’t actually see a dentist after a cleaning. I do not recommend
Negative experience: Went to this dentist my whole childhood. They did unnecessary sealants that fell out and left me with holes in my teeth. They drilled my fillings too deep and told me later that they were drilled too deep so I'd need root canals on both teeth they previously did the fillings on. I got one of them done and that tooth hurts more when I eat than the tooth I didn't get the root canal done on.
Negative experience: Some of the worst front desk customer service I’ve ever experienced. Spoke with 2 front desk clerks and I won’t embarrass them by putting their names up but they are rude condescending and disgusting people. Answered the phone without introducing themselves and got an attitude when asked who they were . And I’m supposed to trust you with my oral healthcare . Hung up on me twice would not escalate to manager and refused to stop speaking over me . Not a place that deserves anybody’s time plenty of other good facilities out there. Also my name is there so if you want to discuss it feel free to call.
Negative experience: If you're looking for convenience at the expense of customer service and professionalism, they are the Walmart of dentistry. The endodontist, Dr. Cherian, is downright rude. I've seen him on multiple occasions, he always seems angry and treats his assistants like garbage. I felt so bad for the last assistant I saw as he yelled at her like a child. On top of that he attempted to charge me for dental codes which were, according to my insurance, not allowed to be charged and we're covered in the cost of the original work. The dental codes were not covered by my insurance, doubling the cost of the work. It must be a way that he can pay for his constant vacations because he's always vacationing abroad. He charged me this same cost in the past, which I paid. When i filed a grievance with my insurance, he did remove the charges but not without unprofessionally letting me know he was not happy about it. The office staff are impossible gate keepers which hault you from doing anything other than grinning and bearing their terrible customer service. There is no one to talk to besides self righteous office staff who will direct you into an infinite call loop by having you call corporate, who says they will call the office and never get back to you. They will send everything snail mail instead of taking advantage of electronic filing like my insurance offered them. Finally when I got upset that they estimated a 5 week return on a USPS claim to my insurance, when the temporary crown they gave me had paper work stating it lasts 2 weeks, they informed me the dentist would not see me, attempting to ruin my insurance claim to see any other office for the tooth. Don't worry though, if you have any issues the office staff will bluntly slam you with the option to pay out of pocket. You can deal with it or pay thousands out of pocket, great choices for the customer. They don't care because they have so many offices, they will get business either way, no need to care for the patient.
Negative experience: Had my first appt this week and will not be returning after a really bad experience. The lady that checked me in was so rude, seemed like she hates her job. I was told they were short staffed by the lady that did my initial exam but was going to ask if someone would be able to do my cleaning, after a few mins sje said she found someone able to do it, the doctor that did my cleaning was just awful, seemed he was in a hurry and just wanted it to get it done with. Did the cleaning so fast he hurt my gums. They have no care for the patients. I was not given any paperwork. The place was just a mess. Wont be going back. If you are looking for a good dentist, this is definitely not it.
Negative experience: I left this place annoyed and confused. A complete waste of my time! I called and scheduled an appt for a wire retainer and was quoted $300 which wasn’t accurate because they use a call center. Apparently, it’s $400. When I speak to the dentist he tries to sell me on multiple things like braces again, cleaning, and etc. Which I kindly declined and let them know I was there for just one thing the wire retainer. He mentioned me signing a consent form for turning down his recommendations and I was totally cool with it. Whatever I have to do to get what I came for. At the end I was asked if I wanted to proceed with the plastic retainer and I said no and they pretty much showed me the door. The wire retainer last way longer then the plastic. It’s what I currently have so I have no idea why it was an issue. Seems to me like they’re all in it for the money and not to help their customers. Never going back again.
Fantastic experience: I went in as a walk in after a long weekend of extreme pain. I was told it would be a wait since there was one doctor. I was brought back within only 20 minutes. The staff was great! Thank you Diana for answering all my questions! And the doctor was great at explaining what i needed and why. And sent me on my way for a root canal. It was extremely affordable since I didn't have insurance. I will be back.
Fantastic experience: I was nervous to take my 11 year old here for a root canal just because of the reviews. Our experience was great. Dr. Cherian explained to my 11 year old son what would happen before he did anything and was able to relax my son for the root canal. My son ended up doing great and said that Dr Cherian was very nice and kept him relaxed and calm the whole time. The front staff was extremely nice. We were seen quickly. Very happy with our experience there.
Negative experience: Update: Finally got my teeth pulled here but beware. They won't give you strong medicine to help the pain. Had all my wisdom teeth removed but had to immediately go to the ER for the pain. Wish I could get a refund tbh. Do not go here if you want actual medical attention/care
Negative experience: Don't bother with this place. I got referred to this office because I had 2 chipped teeth straight to the nerve and all they did was tell me it would be $1400+ to fix it. Didn't even prescribe me pain meds or antibiotics for my infected wisdom teeth. My pain is at a solid 8+ and they just let me leave. Horrible dental care.
Negative experience: I called because I have a cracked tooth, and was told my choices are to sit in their waiting area for "a really long wait" just to have the tooth looked at, but not fixed, it I could make an appointment in May. The receptionist I spoke to was completely rude and had a terrible attitude. Do not recommend this place, stay away
Negative experience: The Orthodontics office in Deland is horrible. The male doctor Dr Mathew’s is extremely rude and has no bedside manner. The older woman up front is even worse. I would not recommend this office to anyone. You can’t get appointments if something happens, you can’t talk to anyone with out being treated horribly and you aren’t able to switch to any other Greensburg office. The only thing I can say is the dental assistant are some of the best!
Negative experience: Good luck getting an appointment with this place if you have ever been to any other Greenberg dental in your life time. Apparently they don't take transfers even if other Greenberg dental locations do. Completely unheard of and hilarious.
Negative experience: Terrible experience. The dentist comes in to see me and he doesn't even introduce himself. He starts telling me that my teeth are a mess and they need a lot of work. He doesn't even take my age and fixed income into consideration. I felt like I was on a production line and all that they were interested in was making money. My dental hygienist was the nicest person though. I have seen a dentist every 6 mos and this was the first time that I was told about my teeth. I will be finding another dentist.
Negative experience: My granddaughter has braces and goes here. On the orthodontist side they are great. Always friendly and greet you when you come in. On the dentist side they are horrible! Worst customer service ever. They do even look up, acknowledge your even standing there and are ride. My biggest problem is both sides NEVER answer their phones! It's very unprofessional and infuriating!
Negative experience: Made an appointment. I called ahead to confirm. My minor son and I BOTH took off work to come, costing us hundreds of dollars. Once already there, we were informed the one dr isn’t accepting and the other one wasn’t willing to accept us because of “no-shows”, which one was Covid and the other was called ahead. Very unprofessional and costly. I would do no stars if I could.
Positive experience: Unfortunately my regular dentist was on vacation. I don’t normally come here. But I arrived as a walk in emergency on a very busy Monday morning. 16 people in line ahead of me just to sign in before the door even opened at 8 am… Half had appointments half did not. I was told it was a three hour wait. However, I was taken in in 1 hour and got an X-ray and the Rx for the problem I was experiencing. I have no complaints. The office staff was efficient and accommodating. I got out in half the time I expected to be there. They offered to take me as a regular patient to their practice but I was only there because mine was vacationing; glad I had this option at DeLand location….
Fantastic experience: Greenberg orthodontics and Dentalcare in Both Deland location and Deltona location are the best. My oldest grandson, had braces. We went to Deland for his treatment. they just came off a little bit ago. Then my youngest grandson needed some dental work. We went to the Deltona office and they were just as friendly as friendly could be. The dentist and orthodontist in both locations were different people, but they were caring, kind, and compassionate towards my grandsons needs. I recommend both locations highly.
Negative experience: It feels like this office is herding you in and out like cattle. Extremely impersonal and on to the next. A serious warning ... whatever you do "DO NOT LET THE HYGIENIST WALTER IN YOUR MOUTH!" This man is brutal and is the ONLY hygienist all day. No one is in the room to keep him accountable. Since when did a dental office stop allowing anyone in the room and he likes it that way. Everyone knows that seeing a dentist can be one of the most frightening experiences ever. So to be told that your support cannot be in the room is absurd. I will not be going back there again and will not be surprised if Walter doesn't hurt someone. BE CAREFUL!!!!
Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend this place. I came in for a consultation 10:30 appointment, got there 10:20 finally decided to walk out at 11:20. If you like to sit in a waiting room, this is the place for you. I'll spend my money with someone who cares about people's time
Fantastic experience: My daughter is very comfortable here. She says they are very nice and make her feel safe when we can't be with her. The only time your away from your child is if giggly gas is administered. They make sure you understand exactly what's going on inside your child's mouth. They even had a talk with her at my request when she was not taking care of her teeth well and fighting me on it. I literally travel over an hour to come here because of their outstanding job they do
Negative experience: Rude and unprofessional and un-willingness to help the Patient. When I called and made the appointment they never told me bring the referral. They could of just called my dentist get the referral just like that. It is very unprofessional wasting people's valuable time. If the receptionists attitude is like that I could of imagine how doctors attitude would be.
Negative experience: If I am being totally honesty, the phones are never answered. It’s weird because when you are physically in the office you don’t hear any phones. So where do they ring? What is the protocol? Do they have a call center? At this point it’s almost an every location problem. This should be a top priority. The front desk on the dental side does not greet you. They do not even say hello. They do not even make eye contact. They do not acknowledge you standing right. It’s truly not welcoming. It’s honestly rude. This needs to be worked on. Receptionist need to ensure they are providing appropriate customer service. However, when you get in the back with the actual dentist is a delight and fast. Her assistants are always polite, helpful and friendly. I’ve had a dental surgery here and the team was friendly also. Even called to check on me. I also do my braces next door. Dr Mitchell is professional and the two assistants are spot on. He answers any and all questions and is efficient. The front desk changes often but the current one is polite and acknowledges a person when they are standing around the desk. I hope she stays. However, for orthodontics phones are the same issue. I personally feel like if the phones were fixed and their receptionist were actual receptionist then they can effectively grow their business. I gave two stars because each doctor is full star. However, one empty star is the phones. Another is the receptionist and another is for overall.
Negative experience: Dr cherian is horrible. I went to the dentist to get a root canal. My mom kept explaining the pain I've been in and he yelled at her. Then I went back cause I've been in horrible pain and it's been a whole week. I under-exaggerate my pain my mom came forward to explain how I was feeling. He then told me to grind my teeth and tell him how much it hurt and continued to make me bite down over and over Intill I was almost crying. My mom said "your hurting her" and then He proceeded to yell at her. He said "I CANT DO MY WORK WITH U IN THE ROOM PLEASE LEAVE" and my mom said "my daughters a minor so no I will not be leaving the room" (last time she left the room he burnt my face. And when my mom refused to do so since she saw I was in pain and didn't want me alone with him he took off his gloves and told me I had to leave. I then had a panic attack outside the office. And I'm not in extreme pain.
Positive experience: Staff is very busy, friendly and polite. Scheduling can be an issue & they don't respond in any of the offered formats. You must be sure to speak with someone at the location you plan to visit. Cleaning and standard maintenance services are good. I have not had to have any major work done. They do have several practitioners under 1 roof covering all dental areas, which is helpful.
Fantastic experience: I have gone to Dr. Nicole Doherty at Greenberg Dental since moving to DeLand in 2005. It’s a busy office however, I always feel they know me and my family. The dental assistants are friendly and efficient at their jobs which makes any visit run smoothly. I have good Dental insurance and could go anywhere I want but I choose to continue with Dr. Doherty and Greenberg dental.
Fantastic experience: Had a broken tooth. Went in without appointment on a Friday when they don't do walk-ins and they kindly fitted me in to the schedule to pull the tooth. Great people with a caring attitude at DeLand office. Thankyou Greenberg.
Negative experience: Dr Cherian was extremely rude and disrespectful. Never been treated so poorly by a doctor. I love the regular dentist Dr Nguyen and the girls that run the office are always nice, unfortunately I won’t be going back there due to this awful experience. I can’t in good conscience give my business to a company that would allow this man treat patients like that.
Negative experience: Doctors are great but the receptionists have a long face and you feel like youre bothering them when asking them questions because . I asked a question and the lady was rude when amswering me saying they were short staffed and im going to have to wait. She couldve been nicer honestly. Not welcoming at all
Negative experience: so rude on phone! I** Called 2 days prior to my sons appointment to confirm, and THEY cancelled my sons appointment and said they were just about to call me- after waiting 3 months for this appointment!!! Then said the soonest they could do is May, another 3 months from now! No apology, No advice- in fact they said that I'M actually LUCKY- because the dentist had an emergency and I got 3 days notice???I'm fileing a grievance with my sons insurance company.
Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency this morning. I went as a walk in. Though I had to wait, it wasn't long. I was seen rather quickly once in the chair. I have a plan of action. Everyone from first walking in the door all the way to leaving was very friendly. I use Greenburg as my regular dentist for all my teeth needs. I personally am treated very well.
Negative experience: I received a call from the office that my daughter had an appointment the following day, even though I knew her appointment was the next week. We showed up just to be turned away affirming I was correct about her appointment date and time. The next week my daughter was exposed to covid and not feeling well. I contacted the office to let them know the circumstances and reschedule her appointment, meanwhile they had employees who called in sick on the days of her previous appointments and she had to wait months for a new appointment, but I was told that they would not reschedule her appointment and she had to find a new dental office because the "doctor " wouldn't allow her to reschedule her appointment even if it would be putting every single person in their office in danger of possibly contracting covid. This is extremely difficult to understand the lack of safety for not just my child but every patient she could have possibly been in contact with had I not been responsible enough to keep her home even after being told that she couldn't be a patient at this office if she didn't keep her appointment. I hope everyone who is a patient at this office is able to see this and have the knowledge of what their policies are regarding covid exposure and their priority to make the money from the patients for their appointments rather than the safety and ethics of rescheduling someone who has been exposed to covid risking every other person in their office.
Fantastic experience: We love Dr.Nicole she is so kind and patient with my son. My son won’t see another Dentist(he says) because he likes the way she takes care of him. I definitely agreed with him!.. The office staff are nice and professional. The only thing is that they are always busy. To book an appointment can take up to a month. But good thing that they take walk-in.
Negative experience: Horrible experience! Made an appt for my daughter today in DeLand. Provider saw my daughter and gave the most uncomfortable vibe. Expressing how we should stay with her orthodontist at Greenberg dental in Apopka because she has a gap in the back and a tooth pulled basically a bunch of excuses. Made me feel like he wasn’t as qualified.
Fantastic experience: My family & I have been going to Greenberg Dental In Deland, Florida for many years. Yesterday I walked in for an emergency appointment & was taken care of by Dr Doherty who’s amazing, & the main reason we continue to go there, & the rest of the staff are always friendly as well!
Fantastic experience: Service was very efficient. Dr Doherty was extremely attentive and understanding of my story being a new patient. I liked her immediately. I liked her assistant too. I highly recommend this place.
Positive experience: The women that did my fillings were awesome super friendly and compassionate, the man that did my cleanings "walter" was rude to my fiance that was holding my hand during the cleaning given my fiance was not in the way he was at the foot of the chair dr .walter advised him he needed to move around the chair to the other side walter never moved. I did not like that, the ladies the did my fillings had no problem with my fiance holding my hand they were awesome.
Fantastic experience: The office and waiting area and exam rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and courteous. This was our second trip to this location and we love the staff and doctors! So glad we came over from the Deltona location.
Negative experience: Had an appointment today for 8am. I waited almost an hour, and wasn’t seen. I left because I had things to do. An HOUR wasted. There was even a walk in who got seen before me…this was supposed to be my first visit and I won’t be rescheduling. Not to have to wait another hour to be seen.
Fantastic experience: I went in for a consultation for an extraction. I was so scared, but after talking to the assistant I felt so at ease. We were talking about dates, she said she could get me in right now. I said I don't do pain , she told the doctor doesn't either. I got that tooth extracted, but before I took the doctor's hands and prayed for he and the assistant. I never felt any pain. God is so good. Thank you Dr. Burchfield and his assistant.
Fantastic experience: My son who is 8 now goes here. He loved his visit today. Every dentist we have been to he has cried etc when it was time to go. He didn't have 1 complaint and came out grinning from ear to ear. 100% recommend.
Fantastic experience: My daughter was scheduled for a full exam and evaluation for orthodontics. The Dental Assistant who took care of us, her name was Sky. She was so friendly, professional and helpful with my daughters treatment plan. I just wanted to thank Sky for such a pleasant visit to the dental office and hopefully the incoming patients will be lucky enough to have the pleasure of meeting Sky, she’s an absolute asset to the Greenberg Dental Group in Deland!!! Thanks again Sky for everything : )
Negative experience: Went there today to get 4 fillings done. I was with my mom and apparently my own mother isn't allowed to go back with me into the room to make sure I DON'T DIE from nitrous (since it's my first time getting it). We are now banned from ever going there again which is honestly just a joke.
Fantastic experience: Been using this dentistry for along time all for of my children came here , I brought my two stepchildren here and now my two foster children ! I trust these dentist ( Especially Dr.Daughtry (aka Snow White ) everyone in the office has always treated me with the utmost respect! Love them all
Negative experience: I have been a patient for at least 20 years. The dentist is awesome, but due to a highly questionable recent events, I can’t say the same thing about a couple of staffs. I reported one of our concerns, and no one has contacted us, about the issue. We will miss seeing a great dentist, but it’s time to seek a new provider.
Positive experience: My hygienist was kind, thoughtful and gentle. The front desk girls are not very friendly or helpful. Early AM appointments are timely.
Fantastic experience: We LOVE Dr.Nichole Dougherty! If your looking for a dentist for your children or even yourself that is patient, sweet and takes time She is the one. I would also like to add all the assistants we have ever had are also top notch Tina and the whole team!!
Negative experience: My daughter and I went for new patient appointments and cleaning. The problem started when my daughter spent all of 2 minutes with the “hygienist “. 2 minutes is a generous estimate of her “cleaning”. I went in for mine and he was such a disaster I refused to let him touch my mouth. I have been to enough dentists and hygienist to know a true cleaning is average 30 minutes. Not to mention I have 20 years in medicine. Very disappointed.. also.. it was a very dirty and run down office. Usually I’m Not a complainer but this warrants attention and I will be filing formal complaints on several dentists in the area as my last one claimed I needed $3000 worth of work and today at a new place I was all good.. strange…
Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with Oral Surgeon consultation today. They treated my mother with respect and gave the best option on her loss of tooth. In my last few visits to Greenberg in Deland I have been impressed with the entire staff
Fantastic experience: I haven't had any major work yet, will have a crown done in 2 days. I was seen on an emergency basis and they were quick to get me in even though they only had one doctor present. He was nice, I agreed about the crown, a filing would have been a bandaid fix. We'll see what kind of work he does , hopefully it's excellent.
Fantastic experience: My appointment was for a root extraction and bone graft. Dr. Towson was very friendly and efficient. He cause as little pain as possible and was very positive about the procedure.
Fantastic experience: They deal with a lot of patients being rude and disrespectful in a professional manner, and their patience and ability to not direct that at other patients is greatly appreciated. The assistant helping me was fun to talk to, and she helped me relax. When the dental professional came in it was quick and easy, and didn't confuse me with any elaborate, technical terminology. Very considerate of how issues are communicated. I actually somewhat enjoyed my visit, and I do not say that lightly.
Negative experience: The people on the orthodontist side are not personable at all. The appointments haven't been flexible for over a year now, they are hard to reach by phone, and recently they have cancelled an appointment as well as deleting the most recent appointment. Cannot wait to be done with treatment, 1 kid down and 1 left. Too much $ and it's not superb service. Would not recommend.
Fantastic experience: I initially chose this office because the price for an exam and X-ray for affordable for someone without insurance. I didn’t wait longer than 5mins to have someone start the process. They were able to get me in for a fill the same day, which was unexpected. Everyone was friendly and made sure I understood the procedure.
Fantastic experience: This office was easy to get into an emergency appt. The bilingual staff was courteous and professional. I will sign up to be a regular patient. If anyone can say they liked the dentist office this one was it!
Fantastic experience: Great service. The assistant was very informative of what’s going . Made me feel very comfortable and safe. She sympathize with my issue of being in severe pain.
Negative experience: My son broke his front tooth off with nerves exposed and they wouldn’t make time to see him. Told me they could maybe fit him in the next day. A broken tooth needs to be reattached as soon as possible and nerves covered. The girl who answered the phone could care less! This left me scrambling to find a new dentist and bc of this delay we were not able to save the tooth. Now he has a 9 year battle in front of him with a fake tooth until he is old enough for a crown. He has been a patient there for 4 years and they just turned their back on him. Thank God a decent pediatric dentist opened up nearby that took us in without hesitation.
Positive experience: Very good experience for my 5 years old who is having his first visit ever seeing dentist. It was worth the wait and extra time of driving there. Will go there again for sure, thanks for everything again!
Fantastic experience: I had to have 2 implants put in and it was a joy to work with Dr. Tolson and Shannon. When I ended up getting a small infection afterwards they were so accommodating in seeing me. I had to go in twice and I even called their after hours call service. Every time I needed them, they were there. I appreciate their hard work, thoroughness, understanding, and for making themselves available. Hopefully, I’ll never need implants again but if I do you can bet I’d go back to them in a heartbeat! Thank you so, so much Dr. Tolson and Shannon! You guys are one of a kind!!
Fantastic experience: Amazing customer service!! The nurses are so kind! The rooms are beautifully decorated! My little girl was so happy after her treatment! % recommended
Fantastic experience: The office staff behind the desks always seems very busy, but efficient. I have had very good experiences at this location (In De Land). (I went to the Ormond location 6 years ago, and did not have a good experience). But the DeLand office is great! I always come on time for my appointments, and I never wait long. The dental hygienist, Walter, is very friendly, and does a great job. He remembers me and my husband and always asks how the other is doing
Fantastic experience: Dr Burchfield and his whole staff were awesome. From Alex at the front desk working with me on the scheduling to Dominic who took my xray to Heather who was the assistant that answered every single question I had. Dr Burchfield was very kind and gentle and told me step by step as the procedure went.
Fantastic experience: My daughter has been going here and I switched my son to this dentist as well. They are wonderful and answer any questions you have! My son's old dentist did work that I was not happy with. Happy to say I switched!
Fantastic experience: They were very professional, courteous and kind. This means a lot to me because it was my daughter who had the appointment. She has slight autism . They made here feel very relaxed. Thank you so much for doing your due diligence in the Highest professionalism.
Positive experience: The hygienist and dentist were great with my 6 yo (first ever dentist visit). Every thing was clean and everyone was polite. I didn't think there was enough privacy between patients, as I could clear hear the consult in the other half of the room through the divider.
Fantastic experience: My child needed emergency dental work done and we were able to come in the next day with our forms already printed out from the Internet and filled out, and had literally no wait! On top of that, everyone from the front desk to the dentist herself, was extremely pleasant. Would highly recommend!
Positive experience: Love our dentist. She's been wonderful for years. Office staff is another story. Rude and unhelpful on multiple occasions. We've reported it but we have never seen improvement.
