Fantastic experience: Very good hygienist who thoroughly but painlessly cleaned my teeth. The people in this office are very friendly and accommodating.

Fantastic experience: It was quick and easy but would like the clinician to spend more time with me asking questions about my teeth. I felt it was get me in and out go to the next patient. The boss just came in to say hi and she was gone. Appointment should be more on a personal level especially since appointment costs are high.

Fantastic experience: Very nice staff. I had an older crown pop off. They got me in in a couple days & cemented it back on. They also cleaned my teeth since they had had a cancellation. All set for another 6 months. Very good service. The above was 6 months ago. I was just in again for the 6 month cleaning. The staff is very friendly & professional. The hygienist Hiba I had is excellent, efficient & did a great job cleaning my teeth & applying fluoride. Highly recommend Family Dentistry off Ellisville.

Fantastic experience: Very good staff. Dr St. John is very thorough and compassionate. They explain procedures very well.

Negative experience: Horrible business practices. They told me I owed them over $400 that insurance didn’t cover. I paid it. Insurance covered it. And they held a credit on my account for over six months. I went to ask them for the credit back on my credit card and they said they couldn’t do it would have to write me a check 30 days later. In confidence at its best!

Negative experience: After my experience with Family Dentistry Of Ellisville, all I can say is I would definitely seek a second opinion if you’re questioning any oral healthcare problems. Let me explain my wife was a faithful patient of Family Dentistry Of Ellisville for several years over the last few years we had started to notice a change in her oral health questioning the Dentist. We were reassured. There was nothing wrong with her mouth, watching her gums, slowly recede further and further continuing to be assured every six months when she was there for her routine check up and cleaning that there was no issues with her teeth. They had told her that her teeth had worn substantially, probably from grinding her teeth and offered to make her an oral guard for sleeping that was there explanation. Clearly there was something they were missing or just didn’t care about, so I made her an appointment with my dentist. she was diagnosed with moderate to severe periodontal disease, which was something that wouldn’t have just turned up all of a sudden it was a major miss my family Dentist Ellisville she was given two options to start into treatment or consider having full dentures. The process to save her teeth would be very painful and extremely expensive after spending tens of thousands of dollars on treatment and oral surgery my wife now has a beautiful smile absolutely no thanks to Family Dentist Ellisville. I am only writing this review as a warning to other people so they may know that maybe their best interest is not being considered with this Dentist needless to say my wife now goes to my dentist and I would never ever recommend Family Dentistry Of Ellisville to anyone under any circumstances. Trust and feeling that someone is putting your health and well-being first is imperative in the medical profession and I can’t say that about Family Dentistry Of Ellisville which is the entire reason that I am writing

I chose EFD years ago based on reviews from existing patients, and the fact that they accepted my dental insurance. My experience has validated those rave reviews.

She explained issues to me in a good tone which was nice because I haven’t been to the dentist in over a decade. Everyone made me comfortable and a staff member told me not to be embarrassed because she also haven’t been to the dentist in years until she started working there! The environment is also really clean and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: Although I feel anxious when going to the dentist, Dr StJohn and my hygienist Jennifer Puls, made me feel at ease. I appreciate that they share and educate during my exam. Everyone I came in contact with helped make this visit positive, from the front desk, and especially DR StJohn!

Dr. St. John got me right in, assessed the problem, and with the help of Dr. Egan, got me taken care of right then and there. I completely thought this was going to be a much bigger deal. Zero pain and I was on my way. They are the best!

Positive experience: The people are great but it is very very difficult to get in twice a year. Seems like they took on too many patients. My last hygienist was pretty frank and just said yeah that’s just the way it is and I personally don’t think that’s acceptable.

Negative experience: They used to be great. I think they are carrying too high of caseloads to effectively care for their patients. My family and I have had to go 8+ months in between cleanings because they're booked up too far in advance. I tried rescheduling an appointment, and it was going to be another 6 months before I could get another one. While in the waiting room, there were two other patients describing the same frustrations. There are far too many dentists to accept this as the standard of care. In addition, I was actively pressured by the staff and dentist, on TWO separate occasions, to have my child (who felt very nervous) get a filling without laughing gas because it took too much time for their high-volume practice. I had to insist over and over again before and during the appointment to do the gas even when I had pre-booked the appointments with the requests and time needed for laughing gas. Don't be a family dentist if you can't have empathy for your nervous or anxious patients. Feels like money is the motivator behind their level of care. We are switching practices.

Positive experience: Hygienist was very good but my mouth is sensitive and it hurts to get my teeth cleaned. Wish there were a treatment that could minimize the pain. 6 month check ups have become 8 month check ups due to difficulty of getting appointments.

The office staff is friendly and flexible in scheduling and working with insurance claims. I have had several technicians clean and xray my teeth. Each of these individuals has been exceptionally skillful and understanding of my needs. Dr.St. John takes time to explain procedures and options while maintaining timelines for her patients. I strongly recommend Ellisville Family Dentistry .

Positive experience: Pros: Great dental care and people! Cons: Twice, an unexpected payment amount from an insurance claim created a credit balance in my account, and no notification was given to me. So several hundred dollars sat in my account as a credit for over a month, and this time about $100 for over a month, when I could have used that money of mine immediately. Notification to the patient of a Credit balance must occur immediately when it happens, not by accident the next time the patient comes in.

They made me feel like that is what it is and we’ll get you back to where you need to be, and they will. Dr. St. John made several recommendations for some intricate work I need. I know I’m in the right hands. The fact I do not have dental insurance doesn’t matter. What matters is I appreciate my smile.

Everything was going normally and I mentioned about getting some floss caught up in my filling. The dentist literally tapped on my filling and I felt it shift. We immediately started the process on getting my crown. The service that I received was so thorough and gentle. I could have taken a nap. Fantastic experience: Family dentistry provides regular dental checkup, cleaning, oral surgery etc. Recently I had to have a cracked molar extracted. Dr Eagan performed the procedure. He along with his staff made me feel comfortable during the entire procedure.

Fantastic experience: Cracked a tooth w filling. Needed a quick appointment. Knew it would need crown. They asked if I had 60mins. I said yes. They took castings, made temp and It is as good as new. Great work Dr. St John. Gold crowns are my best recommendation to all. They seem to adjust to other teeth better..at least for me. I can not express how happy I am w my visit. Lots going on..and I can't have down time now. They made it happen.
