Fantastic experience: Brought my dad in for a consult. I informed Dr. Wong that he had just gotten 2 root canals done last year by a endodontist up in South Barrington. Sadly we were informed that they were both not done properly. He was kind enough to do a root canal right there and then while my dad was still in the chair. Overall great doctor and great team!! Safe to say my dad left Renovo with a positive experience.

Negative experience: HONEST REVIEW The good - I think Dr. Wong is a great Endodontist. I like his vibe, and he's obviously good at what he does. He sub specializes in certain procedures, such as the Apicoectomy, which is what I needed, that other Endo's won't do. As far as the procedure went, I have no complaints. The bad - MAKE SURE YOU ARE COMPARING WHAT THEY CHARGED YOU WITH WHAT YOUR INSURANCE EOB SAYS YOU OWE. His customer service/billing office is shockingly unprofessional. I have insurance, and Dr. Wong is an in-network provider. I had maxed out my dental benefits for the year, and paid almost $2900 at time of service, which is what they told me I owe. A few months later, I start getting invoices saying I owe another $426 because my insurance didn't pay anything else on the claim. I work in healthcare and am familiar with how to read the explanation of benefits. When I went to look at it, it actually stated that my patient responsibility should be over $500 LESS than what I've already paid. When I called the office to understand why they were billing me an additional $426, the woman I spoke to told me that I had no idea what I was talking about, that I shouldn't be telling her how to do her job, that they can charge me "whatever they want" because I maxed out on my benefits, and other rude comments. I told her that I found it ridiculous that she was speaking to a patient in this way and that I would be calling my insurance. I called my insurance this morning, who confirmed my understanding of the EOB, and contacted the office on my behalf. Within an hour, I received a call from Dr. Wong's office apologizing and letting me know they "didn't apply the insurance adjustments" and would be sending ME a check for over $500. To be clear, I wouldn't have ever thought to look at this EOB, and would have never known that I was owed money, if they didn't ask me for additional payment. All that to say - please make sure you review and understand your dental insurance benefits, and call your insurance company if you have any questions or concerns. I do, however, appreciate the office resolving this issue promptly.

Negative experience: Left before i could even be seen because of an uncomfortable and incompetent front desk staff. They were rude to my dentists office on the phone and berated us for xrays that were already sent because they "didnt see them" and were insisting i pay for new ones. I didnt like the way they spoke to my dentists receptionist or myself. They acted similarly the last time payment was brought up at a previous appointment but i overlooked it to give them another chance. My mistake. They wont be receiving a penny from me for anything. My moneys green at every endontists office. I suggest everyone else takes their business somewhere else too. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER 1 STAR REVIEWS SAYING THIS SAME THING! LOOK UP LOWEST RATED REVIEWS.

Fantastic experience: It's difficult to say that a root canal was enjoyable, but I had a completely positive experience. Both Dr Lee and the assistant (unfortunately I can't remember her name) were gentle, explained everything they were doing, and never lost sight of the fact that there were working with a person. I hope I never set foot in there again, but it I need to, I know I will be helped by kind, competent, and friendly people. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: A crown cracked off my molar the night before a work trip, leaving a sharp edge that sliced my tongue. I rushed to Renovo Endodontic Studio in Schaumburg and asked to see their dental surgeon as soon as possible. The waiting room air conditioner was blasting and I felt chilly in my summer dress, but the receptionist offered me a blanket which helped. After a quick cone-beam scan, the surgeon decided on a same-day onlay prep rather than a full extraction. He numbed the area, smoothed the fracture, and built a temporary onlay that fit perfectly the first try. The assistant showed me how to avoid biting hard foods until the lab sends the ceramic piece. Even with the cold room, I left grateful to keep the tooth and to board my flight pain free.

Fantastic experience: After weeks of ignoring a mild twinge, a sudden jolt shot through my lower jaw during a morning meeting. Renovo Endodontic Studio in Schaumburg had stellar reviews, so I called on my break expecting a long wait. Instead, they offered a spot the next afternoon. The lobby was calm with low lights and a faint citrus scent. The dentist reviewed my 3D scan, explained that the nerve was dying, and assured me a root canal would save the tooth. He applied a topical gel before the injection; I barely felt the needle. Throughout the procedure the assistant checked on me, adjusting the headrest when my neck tightened. The dentist counted each file aloud, which oddly kept me relaxed. An hour later the tooth was sealed, and I got a laminated care sheet to hang on my fridge. I walked out surprised at how simple it all felt.

Fantastic experience: An ice-cold soda set off lightning in my upper molar during lunch, and by mid-afternoon my cheek felt on fire. I drove straight to Renovo Endodontic Studio in Schaumburg where they had a same-day opening. The dentist showed me a live microscopic view of the canal, which was both fascinating and reassuring. He numbed the tooth, isolated it with a blue dam, and performed the root canal while the assistant kept gentle suction so I never tasted anything bitter. Thirty-five minutes later the pain had vanished and the temporary filling felt smooth against my tongue. They emailed X-ray images for my records and set a follow up for the permanent crown. I left amazed at how quickly a miserable day turned around.

Fantastic experience: Biting into toast should not make you see stars, yet that’s where I was last Thursday. Renovo Endodontic Studio in Schaumburg squeezed me into an afternoon cancellation, though I waited about twenty minutes past my slot while an earlier case finished. Once in the chair, the assistant placed a lavender neck pillow and the dentist pulled up my X-ray, pointing to the dark thread inside the root. He walked me through every stage of the root canal, from numbing to sealing, using plain language. The rubber dam felt odd at first, but I quickly forgot about it while a ceiling TV showed travel videos. An hour later the tooth was sealed and capped with a smooth temporary. They printed a medication schedule and texted a follow up reminder the next day. The wait was nothing compared to finally eating without flinching.

Fantastic experience: I woke up on a Friday with stabbing pain in my lower molar that made coffee impossible. Negative experience: I contacted your office with a full dental treatment plan already completed by another provider and simply asked if you offered the same procedures and could provide an estimate based on my Cigna coverage. I made it very clear that I understood costs may vary and that treatment plans can shift, but I wanted a general idea of pricing before committing to pay another consultation fee—especially since I already paid for one elsewhere. Instead of receiving basic courtesy or professionalism, I was met with arrogance and a disrespectful tone from your staff. Not only did they refuse to offer even a general estimate or confirm if the procedures were done at your office, they made the experience unnecessarily difficult. That’s not how you treat patients—especially ones coming in for over $10,000 worth of work. To be clear, under the Illinois Dental Care Patient Protection Act and the principles of the No Surprises Act, dental providers are expected to offer reasonable transparency when it comes to costs. While exact pricing might require a consultation, refusing to provide any information when a patient already has a treatment plan in hand is poor service, and frankly, unacceptable. I was referred to your office by my dentist, and I will absolutely be letting him know how dismissive and arrogant your staff was. I’ll also make sure he no longer refers any other patients to your practice. You didn’t just lose one patient—you lost potential future referrals because of how I was treated. I also spoke with Dr. Wong directly—and I have to say, his communication with patients is completely unprofessional. He speaks to you as if you’re unintelligent, with pure arrogance and zero empathy. Rather than helping, he discourages patients from moving forward with your office. After speaking with him, it became clear that this attitude starts from the top. I am glad the experience sent me here to see the reviews. Now I see why everything happens for a reason. I’ll be taking my care elsewhere—to a provider who values patient respect and transparency.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!! They installed a failed implanted that’s infected and loose. Now the office is telling me I have to wait a month for an appointment. Again, an INFECTION and FAILED implant!!! That is a major HEALTH HAZARD. All this after the dentist stabbed my tongue during the procedure.! Didn’t even tell me until I realized when it was painful to even drink water. Don’t even get me started on the rushed dentist and his canned speech on sedation because it slows him down. The callous office did nothing to help me get an earlier appointment- so I left her with some choice words. I’m in pain- not here to entertain your lack of job skills.

Fantastic experience: I just left Dr. Wong’s office. I am truthfully blown away at his level of knowledge and expertise. I was in a tough situation where I fractured a tooth which resulted in me needing a root canal. Dr. Wong took the time to explain each step he’d take, repaired my tooth and completed the root canal. Prior to finding Dr. Wong, I visited a number of dentist offices who couldn’t figure out the issue or why I was in pain. During the process I felt 0 pain or discomfort. This was by far a much more pleasant experience than I thought or was even told. While I don’t want to be in a position where I need another root canal, I now know where to go. Fantastic experience: I had an infected root canal from years ago. They explained treatment options thoroughly and worked with my insurance provider to get an accurate estimate prior to treatment. I had one canal done before and it didn’t go so well, that next day I look like I been into a fight and loss, lol Now let’s Make a long story short well that is how my transition occurred short and easy. Fantastic experience: I live in Roscoe and needed a root canal. I called their Rockford office and they couldn't get me in for 3 weeks. I was in excruciating pain and said I really can't wait that long. Destiny said "if you don't mind driving I can check Elgin and Schaumburg to see what they have". She got me in the next day in Schaumburg. I can't tell you how happy I was. Everyone at the Schaumburg office was absolutely wonderful. I saw Dr. O'Hara and Dr. Trinh, both were wonderful! Fantastic experience: Dr. Wong performed a procedure on me to save my tooth. I wasn’t sure it was going to work but he put me at ease, discussed the risks and his skill is unmatched. I would highly recommend him and his office staff and I was even greeted this morning by Kobe, a therapy dog.
