Fantastic experience: Our visit was very difficult in the beginning because one of the girls was really apprehensive about getting her mouthdone. I just want to say thank you to Miss Porsche for an outstanding job of working with my granddaughter and focusing on her anxieties. Miss Porsche was very patient, understanding, and and showed compassion.

Fantastic experience: New to the area, and brought my 1, 3 and 5 yr old. This place is 100% set up to help small children have a great dental experience. I called and they even had openings the next morning set aside for new patients! Absolutely unheard of for me! Very calm environment with qualified and gentle assistants.

Negative experience: This is 100 % feedback from the 11 year old patient:” When they were putting the big needle in my mouth the dentist were talking while they put the needle in my mouth. They barely put any amnesia “ She felt unsafe for some reason, she mentioned that no one was paying attention to her as a patient. She was feeling the extraction. In my case as a Parent: I was surprised of the time , the procedure too fast

Positive experience: my daughter was seen and had her tooth pulled, she was scared because she hasn't ever had a tooth pulled and was crying and for the dental assistance to speak to my 9 year old daughter like she did saying she can stop that now we haven't even touched you, for a child to.be scared and crying just seems very rudely said to me.

Fantastic experience: I took my 3 youngest to get seen today and was pleasantly surprised how nice everyone was and how quick my children were seen. They were very professional while being kind and very comforting to small children that were scared and uncomfortable. Will be returning

Fantastic experience: My 4 yr old had a tooth extraction. The procedure and process was clean and efficient. He came out without crying (albeit confused about what was going on). And his mouth looks great. We were given instructions on what could happen and how to try and take care of him for the next few hrs. I appreciate the care and consideration they gave my son when I couldn't be with him through it all. And they quality of service we received today was excellent.

Negative experience: 1 and done will not be returning the atmosphere gives too much attitude of not wanting to be there from staff the tech we had was impatient also not gentle to where I had to step in oh let’s not forget they didn’t want me to go back with my child to begin with and I seen first hand why wouldn’t recommend to anyone

Fantastic experience: It was my son's first time going to the dentist and he did well with his dentist and his assistant who was very sweet to him and the secretaries are friendly.

Positive experience: Waited an hour but once we got in everyone was nice.

Negative experience: They are unfriendly and mad when we’re asking about the estimate price, they immediately want to pay us the procedure or whether to say no immediately without explaining the total amount and didn’t offered us if we can pay straight or if we can do staggard payment as an option. The first payment information that they’ve given us was wrong and then after the procedure they said that they have miscalculate it and we need to pay additional $20-$30 more dollars, well in-fact it’s their fault.

Fantastic experience: My girl is 2 yrs old and I was very hesitant to take her to her first appointment bc of her age , but the staff and Drs were very accommodating! of course my daughter was fighting back a little ( I eventually had to sit in the chair w her ) but that is very normal and i wasn’t made to feel bad about it. Another concern of mine was that I would not be allowed to go in the room with her but they’ll let you to be in the room with your baby up until 4 or until you’re confident your child will be okay. There was not a long wait i was in and out in 15 minutes which was great because i can never tell how long my girl will be in a “good” mood for. It really helped that it was quick , kid friendly and educating. 10/10. They also had a play area for children so I didn’t have to use any of the books or distractions I brought from home. At the end she was given a ball , a new toothbrush and toothpaste which she loved.

Fantastic experience: Today was my son’s first time at this office and I cannot say enough good things about Brittany and her interactions with my son and me. He was very nervous about switching dentist offices after years with another provider, but she helped so much by having a positive attitude and making sure to calm his fears each step of the way. She even showed him a model to explain the treatment plan he will be receiving and explained it in a way that was easy for him to understand (he’s 7). We didn’t spend much time with the dentist herself, so I cannot comment much on that, but overall we are very pleased.

Positive experience: Decent and friendly staff for the most part. One was rude and disrespectful I believe she's gone though. My daughter said the gloves smelled like and wasn't sure if they had been changed properly lol. Idk but hopefully they were and some of the staff stare and look at you weird with an attitude. But the kids teeth seem to be well. They're good about appointment times and accommodations even if you have to cancel or reschedule their understanding.

Negative experience: I will never bring my child back here again! What I was told on our initial visit was almost entirely different at the following appointment when coming back for treatment. Giving a 2 year old multiple shots in the mouth with nothing to help the pain, while strapped down is just wrong! They immediatly tried to keep me from going back with my 2 year old for her treatment, once allowing me to come back they started to work on my child at which point I was suprised that the laughing gas I was told she would get was not an option any longer. I was told my child would have laughing gas to help not be so frightened which was why I was allowing her to be swaddled for the apointment (to prevent grabbing anything). Then without forewarning started giving my daughter multiple shots all throughout her mouth to numb her. She had nothing to help with pain, discomfort or fear. Once my child became hysterical and I aware of what was happening I stoped everything, took my child and left. Now following up with other pediatric dentist offices i've been assured that this experience is NOT how things should have been handled!

Positive experience: I had a great experience except when I called to inform the receptionist Diamond I was running 15-20 minutes behind my first appointment and only 5 behind for the second which was scheduled for 15 minutes later… Diamond had a bad attitude and I would consider her to be unprofessional

Negative experience: It has been a while since I went here but the last time I did they used the numbing needle on me because they was going to do work but once they used it they hit something wrong and it ended up numbing my eye, after my eye got numbed and swollen the dentist (the main man there) proceeded to ask me if I wanted him to continue with the work knowing that my eye was swollen from being numbed. I wish I would have got the man’s name just so I go could put it in the reviews but I do NOT recommend this dentist to anyone…. Your kids are NOT safe back there and that’s exactly why they don’t let parents back there. If I could put a zero start I definitely would.

Fantastic experience: So far so good, it is a good clean place for kids to get the dental care they need. We have been using the office for over a year now and we have never been disappointed. Sometimes the staff are harsh but that is something totally normal with the work load.

My son is on the spectrum and dental appointment are challenging for him. I didn’t feel judged or uncomfortable. They kept my son safe and did their absolute best to make him feel safe.

I was surprised at how they worked with me when I needed to reschedule and how they were able to see us the very next day. They called me when we were running late and we were still able to be seen. They're patient and kind and very thorough. I'm amazed! I recommend them over any swanky overpriced pediatric dental office! They're the best!

Fantastic experience: Teenage Son fell and injured his head and broke 2 front teeth late one afternoon. Called next morning. He was in for X-rays and evaluation before lunch. Back after lunch and walked away mid-afternoon with BOTH teeth fixed.

Negative experience: This place is horrible. From staff to scheduling. I used to come to this place when I was younger over 15+ years ago and the staff was mean and didn’t listen to me when I tried to tell them about my medical mouth condition. I now have 2 children that have started going here and I dread it. The appointment times sent to me for both kids were 830am. We get here and no one tells us that my kids have two DIFFERENT appt times later on. So we get there 845 and not seen until 10 or 1030. We had to wait for a long period of time because the staff made the mistake. They really need to be held accountable. I also presume they can’t seem to keep help/or good staff for many reasons. The lady who takes us back says on her chart it states the appointments were 10 and 1030am not 830am. I showed her my texts that were sent to me for the past 3 days or so from smile starters automated system butbis done by their staff nevertheless and she didn’t know what to say. This is completely absurd and ridiculous. Nobody has time for their mess ups especially when people don’t even live near them and schedule days off work to plan around the times that are sent . The staff needs to do better in ALL areas. They stay short staff or slammed. I had a bad experience 15+years ago and now having a bad experience the first day on my kids appointments. I don’t and have never liked this place. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone and don’t know how they are still in business. Only reason we come here is it’s convenient to take people who need something with Medicaid insurance asap. They deserve the lowest rating possible. They say one thing then it’s another. They need to reevaluate their whole staff , business, and system. This needs to be looked at in a deeper manner because all the issues and mishaps/mistakes they are making can be avoided in all actuality. Bad place bad people and experience.

Negative experience: I will NEVER go to this dentist office again!! I scheduled an emergency appointment online for my son. When we got there it wasn't what I was told. The information given about what issues my son supposedly have I don't trust. The entire office strikes me an incompetent which really wasn't that surprising because everything here in NC seems to be that way. I moved here from MD and am appalled at the medical/dental care here. This entire state needs a rework!!

Fantastic experience: They are very friendly and they are very helpful with explaining what is going on and they do their best to keep you comfortable and they have many staff members there to help with any thing that goes on and at first I wasn't sure about them but now I feel a lot better than I did after we got there and everything went like it was supposed to but I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great place to take their kids to the dentist!

Fantastic experience: Super helpful today! I had a lot of changes to make on the clerical side when arriving for my nieces appointment today. There were no issues and the process for handling it all was very quick! We were in and out for the whole appointment for impressions in around 30 mins.

Negative experience: My son is only 5 now he was 3 when these people convinced me he needed 3 teeth pulled and fake ones put in due to tooth decay!!! AGAIN HE WAS ONLY 3 yrs. (Never allowed to let the baby teeth to come out theirselves, they took my boy teeth). Now the fake teeth won’t fall out my son’s mouth like his natural teeth would have. They’re old and brown & hanging on to those gums for dear life. Now his permanent teeth are growing in and they look horrible!!!! They distorted my baby smile, and I kind of blame myself for not seeing the insurance scheming people for what they were!!! PARENTS DON’T put your kids through unnecessary pain for someone else’s financial gain. (Excuse the ashiness) BUT LOOK AT MY BABY MOUTH , look how far his permanent teeth is coming in from his gum line!!! Look at the Cap, how it’s turning brown and bending backwards!!! It won’t come out his mouth!!!!! If I could, they’d get no stars at all. God bless and help the people, in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen.

Positive experience: Very friendly and accommodating. 1 area they should improve is their scheduling, it should be at least every 6 months not 7 months. There's a specific reason we want to be in June and December yearly because there is no school.

Negative experience: I’ve been bringing g my children here ever since they have had teeth. This was one of the worst experiences my son had.Very aggressive and almost unprofessional.. very much considering changing dentist after this.. I really hope there is a change the next time he or my daughter have to have services rendered here. Ready to make a google review. What is happening here?

Positive experience: We've been going to Smile starters for a few visits now for my son who has special needs/ASD. They have private rooms which is great for us because he is extremely busy and has difficultly staying still for any procedure. They'll have additional staff help keep him calm Today we've checked just before our 10am appointment. We didnt get called in till almost 11:30. Getting there early and waiting an hour and a half would make anyone irritable, especially a special needs child who is ready to get out after waiting 20 minutes. The staff should really be mindful and offer us an opportunity to reschedule instead of tell us multiple times that it'll be another "15-20" minutes wait before gett8ng called in.

Positive experience: Appointment lasted two hours, which isn’t bad; the issue was being in the xray room for over an hour because the worker(s) couldn’t get the right angles, other than that and the painstaking feeling of the film being wedged into my mouth repeatedly, everything was kept professional. Really good other than that main issue.

Negative experience: Terrible experience...please look for another dental office. My son left terrified with busted capillaries in his face due to crying so hard. They changed the dental plan without asking if it was ok and did not stop procedure when it clearly was too much for a 4 year old. I could not speak with the Dentist because they left before I even checked out. My son left terrified. Do not recommend!!!

Fantastic experience: I loved going to Smile Starters!! Being older and having to go to the dentist by yourself is kind of scary. But from the second I walked in the energy was warm, the front desk women were nice and were really helpful. I didn’t know you had to conform your appointment, luckily the front desk lady was able to fit me in. The women who took the pictures on my teeth were so sweet and I loved seeing the teamwork between everyone. I look forward to coming back.

Fantastic experience: My daughter saw Janice today and she is truely the sweetest woman. She always has a smile on her face and wants you to have a happy, comfortable experience. We have been at Smile starters for a little over 15 years and it's always wonderful when we get to see her.

Fantastic experience: This is such an awesome place!!! This was my first visit for my son and everyone from reception to the Manager Ms. Jessica were inviting, welcoming us with smiles. Ms. Treicy was kind and extremely informative with the services provided today and what needs to be done moving forward in great detail with proof of X-rays. This is the place to take your kids for certain, they’re in the best hands!!!!

Negative experience: Per one of my 14 y/o son, the black dentist told him to stop crying before he gives him something to cry about. Plus I witnessed him raising his voice and snatching the phone from him and I told the dentist I will hand it . He was very rude!

Negative experience: Every experience has been great until today. I got to go back with my baby for treatment. Well she’s 3 and she wouldn’t really sit still so they ended up strapping her down. She cried the entire 1hr and 30 mins. At one point she wouldn’t open her mouth and the dentist held her nose until she opened her mouth. She was vomiting, and the girl in training made a remark “she must have acid reflux.” I wanted to tell her to try crying hysterically for that long and see if she pukes. She was covered in sweat and she cried so hard she was puking some blood. I’m in the process of finding another dentist because my mommy heart can’t help but feel she was somewhat mishandled. I know it’s my fault for allowing her so many sweets but now she’s traumatized and her eyes are so swollen.

Fantastic experience: Always a great experience been here 3 times with my 3yr old daughter and they do so good with her and always so comforting which goes a long way with a 3yr old. Definitely recommend

They are gentle, kind, understanding to differing needs and make accommodations for everyone. They are a pediatric dentist. They said they see the children to age 20. I hope that helps

I highly recommend great with kids it was my baby's first appointment he didn't even cry they were so gentle and he loved the dinosaurs on the wall.

Fantastic experience: Very wonderful appointment for my autistic 6-year old! The check in went smoothly, and the dental technician that took me back explained everything that would happen. She told me I was able to watch my little one through the hygiene room. The one that did his cleaning Denisha I believe (I apologize if it's wrong) she was sooooo good with my son. Definitely made his experience wonderful and he wasn't scared. Thank you smile starters for the amazing visit and the care you provided my little one. We will see you in 6 months. #stayathomemama
