Fantastic experience: My son had an appointment with Dr. Long Nguyen today. Everyone in the office that we interacted with were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Dr. Long was very personable and spent time chatting with my son to put him at ease. I’d highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an all around nice practice for all your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: The best dental office around! Truly! I drove from NC 5 hrs so I could continue my dental care here in RVA. After trying to find a good local dental office in NC (recently returned to NC) and being told at my first cleaning visit that I had 12 (!) cavities that needed filling, I knew I wanted a second opinion from my favorite dental office. Returned to RVA today and was told I have 1!!! Not 12! One!! We have run into this issue a number of times in NC with dental offices calling every pit and stain a cavity and eager to fill unnecessarily. Thank you Virginia Family Dentistry for taking a more conservative approach to dental care.

Negative experience: What they concern is about the money, I have bad experiences about this place,if you looking for orthodontic treatment find somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I have been to a number of dental practices over the years. Without parallel, Virginia Family Dentistry is the best I've experienced. The two dentists my wife and I have had the pleasure of working with the past few years, Dr. Long and Dr. Catoggio, are simply outstanding. True skilled professionals who sincerely care about their patients and demonstrate that care through every interaction. Erica is, by far, the finest Dental Hygienist I've ever come across. I would strongly recommend her to anyone wanting a gentle, effective dental cleaning experience. The dental assistants are just as impressive. The office staff is always enthusiastic and genuine. The offices are beautiful and maticulously clean. We drive an hour to get to this practice but would never consider doing anything different.

Negative experience: The website advocates that they are a safe and sanitary place with safeguards in place for those who are at risk but this couldn’t be further from the truth. The staff all gave judging looks at my wife and I for masking in a medical setting, while they were bad at keeping their own masks on around patients; and the air purifier in the room was filthy, probably hadn’t been touched in years. Don’t come here if you are immunocompromised, they’ll treat you like a freak for some reason.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing first appointment at this office. My hygienist, Thomas (Eugene), was very gentle and extremely thorough. My teeth have never felt that clean! I highly recommend him for your next cleaning.

Negative experience: My family has been with VA family over 15 years , we have always had a positive experience, until recently and that is with the front desk. My child has an upcoming appointment on 15th August which I had to cancel. When I called to reschedule front desk reception said they are now booking into May next year, I was like but this is for their August appointment. She said yes, we don't have any appointments and suggested I keep calling every day indefinitely until there is a same day cancelation and they can maybe see my child then. I actually thought she was kidding?!! Do you guys not have a system for when some one has to cancel an appointment since these are made inadavance? It is like here is the punishment , you have to cancel and appointment call until eternity! I am shocked how I was treated ?!!! And not given any options. Interestingly when they had to cancel my appointment multiple times for their own problem, I was given multiple opening options.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here for many years and always pleased with each aspect of the practice. High quality, knowledgeable staff, very responsive to any questions. Remarkably painless procedures!! Easy to make and reschedule appointments. Excellently designed, and exceptionally clean facility. Efficient and accurate billing department which also handles insurance payments and issues. And finally, genuinely friendly, concerned people obviously dedicated to their profession and caring for their patients.

Fantastic experience: I’d like start out by saying that I’m 63 years old, I’ve lived many places and seen many dentist. With that being said, I have been lucky and have always had pretty good experiences. However I have to admit that without any hesitation I can say that not only is Dr. Catoggio the best I’ve ever seen, but his office staff are just as amazing as he is. I was living in Ga. when I was told I would have to have a major dental procedure. However I was planning to move back to Henrico, and the dentists said that she thought it would be best if I had the procedure done in Virginia, as it could be a long and possibly a complicated procedure. She asked if I knew a dentist in the area where I was planning to move to. I immediately knew I would come back to this practice as I had always been so happy with Dr. Catoggio. To make a long story short after my dentist in Ga. emailed Dr. Catoggio and he agreed to take my case, it wasn’t long before the process started and I was on my way to having this behind me. The procedure is behind me, and it went off without any complications. Dr. Catoggio is so knowledgeable and I have to add a perfectionist as well. I could not be any happier with the results! I can’t thank Dr. Catoggio enough. He truly outdid himself and I have to add that the staff was all incredible. I have to mention, Dawn and Amber as they assisted Dr. C , and Maria, the money taker as I called her, for being so helpful and kind throughout the entire process. I don’t think that there has ever been a time I’ve walked into this office without being greeted by a very happy, helpful staff. And again, yesterday another great experience! Doctors C and staff are all still amazing. So I will always be happy with my decision to to go to Virginia Family Dentistry! This is without a doubt the longest review I’ve ever written, but truthfully they deserve every word written. Thank you Dr. Catoggio! Fantastic experience: Doctor Mike was the best dentist and his associate was also the best they treated me with kid gloves and believe me I needed it but let me tell you they were angels and the procedure went great thank you so much. My family has been going to see this group since around 1981 when they srarted over at Gaskins Rd in the little offices over there. Then moved to Threechop Rd. Last over at the office on west Broad. All the Dentist have come and retired but their group only gets the best. Thank you so much

Negative experience: Calles to cancel an appointment today that I had in September. Woman named Cary answered and from the start she was giving attitude. Repeated same sentence 3 time states she couldn’t understand. After providing her my dob she was giving me attitude saying I have no appointment in a mean way which I am sure I do. While saying thank you and bye she hung up in my face. Get the people answering phone calls to be better because that is the first interaction with a new customer and they shouldn’t be answering the phone like that.

Fantastic experience: I was in Short Pump area & I had 2 teeth bothering me. Being Memorial Day wekend, I was afraid to wait til Tuesday after Holiday. My daughter reccommended me call. This ofc scheduled me an appt the same day. Dr. Jennifer Tran, is an excellent Dr. , she explained my problem & prescribed me an antibiotic, to help me get thru the wekend until I can see my regular dentist. But, I plan to switch Dentist immediately. Dr. Tran will be my dentist, now. I was very impressed with Dr. Tran & All of her Staff. Looking forward to returning! I live 2.5 hrs from this ofc. That should explain my First Impression of this Ofc. Im very Pleased with care I received.

Fantastic experience: I had to have a procedure that took place over 6 months to complete. The staff, the scheduling ladies, hygienist and technicians are always fun and help put you at ease. Dr. Catoggio always explains the procedure thoroughly and is very kind as well.

I had an appointment then but due to Covid, it was pushed back and then I lost my nerve to go through with the extractions. When push comes to shove, I know I'm not a dedicated flosser... they don't beat me with a broom stick and help me get back on track and for that I am very thankful. Negative experience: Worst dental service provider, don’t have ethics how to talk to patient, feel like they just want to get money from insurance companies by adding unnecessary x-rays and other charges. Don’t care about is your insurance policy covering or not,after every visit co-pay is like $120 or more for general cleaning and consultation I have Delta insurance I pay every month $79 don’t know what they charge every time… And if they do the X-Rays then be ready for $100 more..I only went there for general cleaning twice a year, cleaning services are unsatisfactory with awful attitude after cleaning teeth feel scratchy never buff or polish, don’t feel smooth look like undone service, which create faster buildup on teeth then they recommend you to come every four months,WOW too much greedy

If you’re someone who is anxious about dental visits like I am, this is an excellent place to go. I felt very comfortable and at ease and no one made me feel bad about any of my dental concerns.
