He made me a treatment plan with my well being in mind and not just about $ . I actually felt cared about and true compassion which is hard to find in the health and dental care industry these days. I’m grateful for getting the dentist I did today and feel great about the plan for my care and finally see light at the end of the tunnel of my lifetime of dental chaos .

Positive experience: My family went in for checkups and cleanings today and overall had a good experience. We really liked the dental hygienist that my husband and I had, I didn’t catch her name but she was friendly and great at her job. The one thing that bothered me, the reasoning for the 4 stars instead of 5, was the hygienists that were helping my children. I did not feel like they were very knowledgeable at their job. There were two of them going back and forth between my two children and they would ask each other questions on what to do, took several xrays on my son (which he was already stressed out about being there) and then had to ask me if they had done fluoride already or not. Once they did fluoride, they didn’t rinse it off, which they did for my other daughter, and my poor son thought he had to keep it on his teeth for a long time so he wouldn’t swallow or move his mouth until my husband figured out what he was doing when he started moaning. It was frustrating that my kids’ appointments seemed to drag on, partly because I felt like the hygienists didn’t fully seem to know what they were doing.

Fantastic experience: My daughter just had two teeth extracted. She was very nervous but Dr Swan and the staff did a great job keeping her calm and the extraction was quick and smooth. We’ve been going to them for all our dental and orthodontic care for years. Would definitely recommend them!

Both my husband and I recommend Swan smile with Kristy as there hygienist 100%. She has been our hygienist for over 30 years. Although we have to drive almost 30 mins. From Orem to Salem to see her every 6 months, it's totally worth it

Negative experience: My family went to this clinic thinking they accepted our new insurance, but turns out our plan isn’t fully covered by them when we got a bill. Seems like it should be their responsibility to check patients’ insurance plan to make sure they are fully covered, and if not let the patient know so they can decide whether they want to pay a copay just for routine cleanings. That has been the case at any other dental or medical office I’ve ever been to. On top of that, they billed us for XRAYs and fluoride for my daughter that were never done. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that it was purely a mistake and not billing fraud. Would not recommend them.

Negative experience: In over 50 years of dental cleanings, this was the ABSOLUTE worst experience of my life! I waited for half an hour in the waiting room to see the hygienist and then she didn’t even take me to a single room, but an open bay with other patients. The actual cleaning was so aggressive that I had to come home and take aspirin for the pain. This was my first experience with swan smiles, and it did not leave a good taste in my mouth. I left the dentist I have been with for over 10 years because I was tired of waiting for the dentist and came here because I have heard rave reviews of the dentists here. I will say that the dentist I saw WAS incredible, and that’s the only reason this isn’t a 1 star review. Dr. Davis checked my teeth twice (once before the cleaning, because she was so behind, and once when she finished, because she called him back to double check something). I will try one more appointment here because I can see THAT dentist, but if it wasn’t for him, I never would come back here again. It has been a day, and my gums are still incredibly sore. I’ve never had a dental hygiene appointment like that before, and Hope never to again.

Negative experience: I had a poor experience with this dentistry, because they didn't go over what they had charged my insurance (instead just choosing to tell me I didn't owe anything, and not even mentioning what I had actually been charged), I went into an exam completely unaware that I wasn't covered for that exam. This was even after confirming multiple times that the exam was covered. I still got a bill in the mail saying I owed money. The Dentist personally called me to understand my concern, which I really liked, but then it turned into "would you please consider changing your google review". I changed my review from a 1 star to a 2 star in good faith. It would have been higher if I hadn't been bluntly asked to change the review, as it made me feel like that was the point of their call. My bill may have been waived, but at the end of the day more can be done to determine how much a patient will owe. I can't imagine my bill being waived if this had been for a major procedure. For what it's worth, I was thinking I'd pay the money AND change my review, but then I was bluntly asked to change it...there's nothing more aggravating than feeling obligated to give a 5 star review.

He was so kind and thoughtful and so much help. They also cleaned my teeth that hadn’t been cleaned in years they feel wonderful. Fantastic experience: I took my two boys here for their first ever dentist appointment. The whole office had such a good feeling and the staff and Dr were all so kind and personable! The office is clean and bright and has a play area for kids at the front while you wait to be taken back. DR Swan is so personable and did so well with my family. He asked us about any concerns we had or if we had any questions. He explained everything very clearly and made sure we felt good about it. I did not feel rushed or judged at all! They also have a separate back area for kids and they have TVs and other cute activities while you wait to be seen by the Dr. The assistant was so sweet and she even blew up balloon animals for my boys when they started getting antsy. They do go above and beyond for your comfort! I would recommend anyone to come here, especially for pediatric visits! Fantastic experience: I have had 2 teenagers get braces with Dr. Swan. My daughter had some major problems with her teeth and jaw. Dr. Swan knows his stuff and was able to correct the issue. Their teeth look great and Dr. Swan and his staff was always amazing to work with. We couldn’t be happier!

Fantastic experience: My kids and I are new customers and I am very impressed and would highly recommend. The staff and Dr. Swan are very professional very kind, and just good people. Wide open office with shiny new equipment and a cool jungle theme for the kids. The main reason I switch is my daughter has braces and my son is getting braces. When my daughter would get a cavity by her bracket, our previous dentist would send us to the orthodontist have the bracket taken off one day, then we could get the cavity the next day. Then make a third trip to have the bracket put back on. Huge pain in the neck, with Dr. Swan's expertise we don't have to worry about that anymore. Everything else awesome about Swan's is just gravy, It's a great place. We're all very happy we switched!

Fantastic experience: They are the best they take care of you and they are really good with kids hands down probably the best in south county!!! The only thing they don't do is give you pain meds.. other than Tylenol 3 codeine so if you are one that feels pain more than others maybe check first but Dr swan I don't know if he will but everything else !!!!

She was kind, gentle, accommodating and for the first time in 9 years our son allowed a provider to take x-rays, clean AND floss his teeth!! Fantastic experience: I just finished my two year orthodontics treatment with Dr. Swan. The whole experience went great! Dr. Swan and all of the staff at Swan Smiles were always amazing and so friendly! My teeth and bite needed a lot of work but I am sooo happy with the end result! I’m glad I trusted Dr. Swan and his team, now I no longer feel self conscious about my smile and they are affordable!! If I ever had an issue with brackets or wires on my braces they were able to get me in the same day to fix it. I couldn’t recommend them more!! Adults and children don’t look anywhere else just go to Swan Smiles!!

Fantastic experience: We have had such a great experience at this office! Our first visit was an emergency visit for my son. We weren't satisfied with our current dentist so we called Swan Smiles and they were able to fit him in right away. My child was very scared to just get a cleaning in the past, but they made him feel at ease getting major work done here. Dr. Yates was fantastic! He calmed him, made him feel comfortable, and made it a fun experience. Our old dentist kept pushing sedation but because of the fabulous bedside manner of Dr. Yates, he only needed laughing gas. We have now gone in for cleanings and other dental work to be done on my kids. My kids have also seen Dr. Swan and he is just as amazing and caring! He seems to care about what my kids want to talk about and makes them feel special. I'm so happy we found this place so my kids can relax and enjoy the dentist! Thank you for being such great children's dentists!

Fantastic experience: Had an appointment for a cleaning and found I needed a small filling. When they learned my schedule was limited due to insurance issues, they worked me into their schedule right away and did great work! As someone who has had much anxiety in the past, it was great to feel relaxed through the entire experience.

Negative experience: Cost me thousands of dollars in fixing the problems that they made for me and my wife. They also overcharged our insurance making it so I hit my cap earlier and could use insurance less. That's not even dimension the fact that they messed up a nerve and I was in pain for weeks and all he did was tell me that I should take 8,000 mg of Tylenol a day, and that 8,000 mg was not a big deal. He's very nice very polite but not a good dentist, wish you the best and hope you learn as for us we will never return!!!

Fantastic experience: The staff at Swan Smiles & Orthodontics are friendly, the office is clean and fun for kids, and Dr. Swan is great! My 5 kids love coming here, and I appreciate having a kind, patient dentist take care of my kids! Dr. Swan is also a fabulous orthodontist!

Fantastic experience: I took my son to Swam Smiles for braces. Their staff is always so nice and patient. Dr Swan is very knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. I also took my 83 yr old mother and Dr Yates was so gentle and patient with her. He explained everything and took his time to help manage her anxiety, he was very gentle as well.

My autistic son had deep sedation and the Cloud 9 sedation team was excellent as well. So grateful for these trustworthy and kind professionals. We will definitely be back!

Negative experience: Dr Swan and the hygienists are very kind. This review is in regards to the 3 hr nightmare working with Dr. Bryce Yates. My daughter has overcrowding in her teeth and it was recommended that we pull two teeth. She was so brave as a 9 yr can be, but started crying with the injection. He was impatient and told her she needed to close her mouth and breathe through her nose. (She was not on the laughing gas at this point. He wanted her to stop crying.) “I can tell you’re not listening because you are not closing you mouth.” He said as he pushed on her mouth as if to close it in spite of her crying. I was shocked that he would do that and told him she needed a break and I held her. He came back in and stroked her back, which felt weird as she was on my lap and it wasn’t comforting to her. She was brave and got back in the chair and he kept injecting her, three more times. Told him to stop, she needed a break as I could see how much pain she was in (it left bruises in her mouth.) He wasn’t happy and didn’t stop right away. I held her and calmed her. He came back and started stroking her hair and back again and I told him to stop touching her like that. (It was creepy) I helped calm her to the point she climbed in the chair again under the agreement that the dentist would not inject more without our permission. The dentist then proceeded to describe how uncomfortable she was going to be. How she was going to feel a lot of pressure and pulling, it felt like he was trying to talk her out of it, intentionally scaring her. I told her he needed to stop talking to her like that and he took off his gloves and stormed out telling us then we should have Dr. Swan pull her teeth. We left, my daughter with a numb mouth and trauma from a creepy sadistic dentist. As I told the woman at front desk I would like to report Dr. Yates behavior he told her “Don’t charge them for anything.” (Said like he was being so benevolent.) Excuse me? The cleanings were covered completely by insurance and the torture my daughter endured without even getting the teeth removed shouldn’t be charged anyway!

Negative experience: I have been going to this location for a few years. I don’t know if it’s the change in ownership or staff that’s caused it to go downhill, but I will never be going back after my recent experience. I went in for a root canal that ended up going terribly wrong and landed me in the ER the same day. I am kicking myself for not trusting my gut instinct when I had gone in the month before and noticed multiple cleanliness issues, including touching all kinds of things with gloves on and then putting their hands in my mouth. Long story short…I ended up with a horrible GI bleed/bacterial infection that quickly entered my bloodstream from the root canal site. I was very sick for weeks and ended up with thousands of dollars in medical/hospital bills/GI specialist etc. Not only did I have to pay for this horrible root canal and go through the scary experience, but I had to pay another dentist to actually redo the original root canal because it was done incorrectly by Swan Smiles. I’ve reached out to Swan Smiles and let them know the situation. I had hoped they would contact me and do the right thing by at least reimbursing me for the bad root canal but I haven’t heard back from them and it’s been months now. I normally do not write negative reviews but after this horrible and traumatizing experience I felt I should let others know to be aware. Speak up for yourself if you notice unprofessionalism or uncleanliness and always trust that gut instinct.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist was great! My teeth were clean and felt smooth afterwards, and she made sure to ask if I had any concerns throughout the process. I showed up a little early, and was in and out in less than an hour. Great office.

Fantastic experience: Our first visit here was nothing short of spectacular! The environment was clean, friendly and inviting. All of the staff made us feel like family. The kids LOVED the 2 story play area in the waiting room and they ask to go back regularly. We are glad we found this little secret of Salem!

Fantastic experience: They did amazing with my little boy he doesn't like going to the dentist and was not going but Kenna and Doc. Bryce made him feel good! She even was able to brush all his teeth amd floss! And then Doc Bryce was able to count all of them! It was a good time at the dentist and we know it isn't the most fun place! Fantastic experience: I had been to several dentists due to tooth pain before, all of which couldn't find anything wrong - until I came to Swan Smiles! In my first visit, they were able to diagnose and fix the issue that had been going on for 2 years. Dr. Swan and Dr. Yates are two of the most skilled dentists you could find, which would be enough on its own, but you can really tell they care about their patients in a way most companies only claim to do. The entire staff was so positive and friendly and all seemed to get along with each other and the patients so well, I've never been more comfortable in a dental office.
