Fantastic experience: Everyone at the smile zone is kind, polite, professional and happy. My experience of going to the Smile Zone for the past 30+ years has been great. I feel like I’m well cared for and I’ve recommended the Smile Zone to my friends who are now current patients. As an update to this review I will add that Dr Buckley and his assistant, Judy have provided me with outstanding and compassionate care these past few months. I needed a new permanent fixed bridge and over the course of six visits and four months the end result is fantastic. Every step of the way Dr Buckley thoroughly explained each step, how it would feel and why he was doing it. This is a great practice and always has been. A big shout out and thank you to Dr Buckley and Judy. After my most recent October 2025 visit I realized I’ve been going to the Smile Zone for 38 years and in all of that time and after multiple procedures I can honestly say I have never felt worried, or been hesitant to proceed with whatever treatment was needed. The Smile Zone has provided me with consistently good care, given good advice and compassionate and professional care.

The other day when I went to check in for my visit, I experienced a blonde haired woman that I had never dealt with before. She was rude and had an attitude. Fantastic experience: This is an additional review. I needed to have a cavity fixed. This immediately put me into a very nervous position. I explained my nervousness to Dr.Buckley. He assured me that I would be given medication prior to the appointment. The medication truly helped me with the anxiety and pain. I needed to have a filling fixed. The medication along with Dr. Buckley’s excellent approach to fixing the filling made this one of my best dental experiences ever. Assisting Dr.Buckley was a caring, efficient professional named Veronica. I am so grateful for this dental practice. Well, if you are lucky enough to go the Smile Zone you would look forward to your appointment. I have the gift of Tia, truly one of the best dental hygienist I have had in my life. She is kind, professional, knowledgeable and remarkable. The Office staff go out of their way to help you. I had to cancel my original appointment with Tia. I asked to be put on a cancellation list. Over the next few weeks I received several phone calls to let me know Tia had a cancellation; unfortunately I could not make the dates. The scheduling coordinators are patient, professional and pleasant. The receptionists are also knowledgeable, patient and professional. On each appointment, a dentist comes into do an overall dental examination. As always each dentist is kind, tells you what they will exam. They are of the highest professional level and extremely kind All of the above comments are made by a woman who was extremely nervous about going to a dental office. No more thanks to all the staff at The Smile Zone.

Fantastic experience: I just had my first visit at this dental practice and I am really glad I chose to go here. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and truly seemed to care. The hygienist listened to all my concerns and did a great job with cleaning my teeth without causing any discomfort. The dentist also listened to my concerns and provided possible solutions. He was very thorough with the exam and very kind.

Fantastic experience: Another A+++ dental cleaning - with Tia! I've been going to the Smile Zone since Dr. Tramontana owned it around 1985. He retired and now Dr. Schumer owns it. He and all of his staff are SUPERB!!! I've had everything done to my teeth that can possibly be done here and I get my teeth cleaned religiously every 6 months - all painless experiences. Yesterday my Dental Hygienist was Tia, who I make every cleaning appointment with. She's very good, knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and takes her time with you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE SMILE ZONE!!!

Fantastic experience: Best dentist I have ever had. After a few years at a subpar dentist that did more damage than good, I found the Smile Zone. I was particularly interested given their fantastic reputation for dealing with high anxiety patients like myself that have a panic attack any time a needle is involved. Over a few months, Dr. Kathryn Buckley slowly fixed all the problems my last dentist created, and worked with me to get a prescription that worked best for me to avoid my anxiety attacks. Multiple cavities, a bad root canal from old dentist (leading to an extraction / implant), and 2 crowns were all fixed perfectly. Almost 2 years later, my teeth have never been healthier, and I actually look forward to my visits. My overall dental anxiety has significantly gone down as well. Dr. Buckley is always cheerful, clear, and concise about what she will do and what to expect before, during, and after any appointment. The front end staff are extremely helpful and responsive, working with me and my insurance to maximize my benefits. I am always impressed with how quickly they are able to accommodate me, a couple times within the same day! I cannot recommend Smile Zone enough!

I'm not comfortable with dentists in general because I've had some very bad experiences before but I felt very comfortable with Ashley who did my cleaning and Dr Rob Buckley who did my checkup. They both took the time to explain everything they were doing and I found them to be professional, gentle and kind. I was relaxed the entire time I was there ( which is surprising given my dental-office phobia!) and I can't recommend them highly enough. Thank you for a non-stressful experience!

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience with Ashley the hygienist, she was so kind! I hadn’t been to the dentist for a while, and she did a wonderful job explaining everything and making sure I was comfortable. Staff was all kind.

Negative experience: I went there after years of not having a dentist, just for a cleaning. Beware, I had panoramic xrays at an oral surgeon two years prior but smile zone, insists on full panoramic without clarifying the financial repercussions. I got a bill for an additional $194. Plus they pushed for root canals on two teeth that are causing me zero issues. When inquiring they sent me back a vague form that only said “full mouth Xrays” but not distinctively panoramic or fmx. There’s no way I could have known these costs. Very sneaky if you ask me. I would definitely not go there if I were you. I guess they won’t even see you as a patient without them even if you’ve had them done within 3 years. When inquiring with the office via email, responses come back all caps, poor office communication etiquette.

My hygienist is Bethany who has also been excellent, this time I had Nichole who was excellent as well. Jeanette & at the front reception is a pleasure to talk to to with all my coordination there.

Fantastic experience: I had my 6 month cleaning and everything was great. It was clean, comfortable, and easy.

Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment with The Smile Zone for 7/22 at what I believed was 2 PM. When I arrived, the receptionist initially asked if I was sure I had the right location because they had no record of me at all. She then complained to another staff member that the computers were acting up. After sitting for about five minutes, I was told they had found my appointment—but that it was actually scheduled for 12 PM. Despite the mix-up and my messages showing 2 PM, they acknowledged that I showed up and allowed me to reschedule for 9 AM the following Tuesday. When I rebooked, no one communicated that I would not be allowed to reschedule again or that there was any policy preventing it. The day before the new appointment, I let the office know I would be out of town due to the passing of my father. I was then told I could no longer reschedule or book with them ever again. The receptionist responded with, “Well, you’re calling the day before,” as if that were unreasonable. But if they’re closed on Saturdays and Sundays and someone experiences a death in the family, exactly when are patients expected to call? Both the receptionist and the manager I spoke with were incredibly rude. This is supposed to be a people-centered business, yet they showed zero compassion during a personal loss. Use The Smile Zone if you choose—but be aware that compassion and professionalism may not be part of the experience. If you plan to book with them, make sure no family emergencies come up—because they won’t be understanding if they do. But hey, if you're looking for a team that lacks diversity and empathy, then this may be the place for you.

Fantastic experience: I had never been to this location but my wife and son had gone there. I had been scheduled to be a new patient and because of a lot of ups and downs that had occurred in my life at the time, quite frankly I forgot about my appointment. When I began to have trouble with my teeth I called to make an appointment and they told me honestly that because I had missed my first new patient appointment they may not be scheduling me because that was the office policy but they would check. Thankfully they were kind enough to give me another chance and I'm very glad that they did. Every staff person that I met there was friendly, and very helpful to me. The doctor was very thorough and explaining to me what work needed to be done on my teeth and why I was having the issues that I was having, and what steps we can take in a triage type explanation to correct the different issues that I was having. I would recommend them wholeheartedly and can easily understand why both my wife and my son were as pleased with the care that they received there as they were.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in many years and my son recommended the smile zone. My first visit I had Tia and second I had Ashley. I was nervous prior to both visits, but they were both very nice, professional and efficient. Also the practice doesn't try to get me to have procedures I don't need to get extra money on top of my insurance. I'm very pleased overall!

Positive experience: The front staff were very friendly and helpful. The hygienist was great. She told me everything she was doing. My teeth felt amazing. The only negative thing I can say is they stopped taking my dental insurance and I had to pay out of pocket. Now I have to get reimbursed by the insurance company. Unfortunately, if getting reimbursed by the insurance company is a nightmare, I will have to find a dentist that will take my insurance. I don’t want to leave as I have been here for a few years now.

Fantastic experience: I have seen the dental hygentist Maria for my past two cleanings and she is fantastic, very thorough and professional. I enjoy Maria's company and my teeth always feel great when she cleans them. I have also had a couple other hygentists and dentists from the Smile Zone in the past and they are all great at their jobs and make me feel comfortable. The front desk employees are also pleasant people. I also think it is wonderful that even though they no longer accept Delta Dental insurance, they will send them the paperwork so that I will get reimbursed for the covered services. Fantastic experience: My dentist was excellent for this visit; we had a fun time before talking of the "rain" and "baseball" and that surely put me in a good mood for the dental work. I was totally calm throughout testifying to the excellent skill of my dentist in completing what was necessary without "any" pain or irritation. Fantastic experience: Dr. Schumer and his assistant Aurora are a very good, efficient team. I had some bad fillings done at a previous dentist, as well as significant decay from pregnancy. They have been great each and every time I’ve been there (admittedly too often), and were very helpful when I had a more urgent tooth concern. I am happy to drive an hour to their office, and I know they are giving me the best advice for my teeth.

She was patient in allowing the numbing gel to work before shooting in the novacane, and explained everything she was going to do and the expected results. Highly recommend her for your dental needs.
