Negative experience: Just cancelled an appointment that we were made to wait for one hour before any kind of process was initiated for services. Not the first time ......but definitely the last. Please patronage this office if you enjoy being treated as an insurance billing invoice rather than a customer or family. Also avoid speaking to anyone in managerial positions as they know about as much as anyone who walks into the door.....this office has so many pitfalls, it just ridiculous. No communication between staff and customers. No respect for patients and their time. No consideration for anyones personal experiences but their own..... specifically their break times and their lunch breaks. I could go on for hours on my worst experiences with this office but they are not worth my time......if we are not worth theirs.

Negative experience: Extremely rude front desk…especially the older lady. She is always in a bad mood. I wish I didn’t have started getting my daughter’s braces at this dentist. 10.15.25. Also a receptionist name Juanita is the worst with her attitude. Absolutely disgusting. She looks at me like I’m her enemy or something never gives me a smile. Never says hi. Every time she just stares me down. I don’t know what it is about me that she hates so much Oh God I can not wait till I get my daughter out of this office. If I need to make some kind of changes to my appointment, it’s impossible to do every if I call her can we make some kind of adjustment for the time or any kind of question along that line within seconds she says NO. She doesn’t even tell me oh OK hold on let me check….instead her immediate answer is always just NO.

Fantastic experience: Doctor and Assistant made my son feel so comfortable and the process was quick and easy! They were both extremely nice and were great in explaining expectations! Best of the Best! Thank you so much for taking great care of my son!

Positive experience: I’ve been coming here since 2023, the beginning was great. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is fun. Lots of toys to occupy the little ones but the wait times are long. Expect a 30 minute appt to be an hour. For moms who have a schedule they want/need to follow…probably skip this place.

Negative experience: Worst experience ever! Both my kids have appointment today, very first time. My daughter waited over 30 minutes before we were able to see a dentist, my son also waited over 20 mins, the dentist still didn't show up. I left without treatment. This is ridiculous that they do not value patient's time. I will definitely not going back there and will not recommend anybody go there for treatment. I will also inform my insurance company to not pay for anything since we didn't receive any treatment.

Fantastic experience: The staff are wonderful and take great care of the kids! My son can be a bit difficult at times but they are beyond patient and willing to work with us through his anxiety’s. The waiting room is beautifully decorated and having a dentist and orthodontist at one place is wonderful for busy moms! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Negative experience: The front desk ladies are not very kind, and when you arrive 2mins late you lose your app but no matter how early you arrive your appointment is always late very unfair.

Negative experience: Went in twice after getting text reminders all week long only to get there and be told we werent on the schedule. TWICE I kept my kid out of school and missed work to make these appointments and the old lady in the front "couldn't tell me what happened" She had the nerve to ask me to see my texts to prove that I wasn't wrong and that SHE again, screwed up. The office manager did try to make it right by asking the providers to see my son, however wasnt able to accommodate the appointment time and it just wasnt going to work. I told them to cancel all future appointments and as Im walking out, the old lady said "okkkayyyyyyyyy" with her attitude like if she did something I should be grateful for. She needs Front Desk 101 on customer service, especially after her own screw ups. So unless you have all the time in the world to maybe or maybe not be seen, I wouldn't schedule here. Its such a shame because the back office staff is great with the kids.

Negative experience: Ridiculous! There are serious problems with front desk staff, communication, and the policies of this office. Rude assistants, scheduled an appt wrong even tho they threatened to charge me if I missed it, we've been to three appts in preparation for a filling, which they're now saying are booked 6 months in advance, and they want to give me a quote to retrieve her records! Don't waste your time!

Negative experience: Real pushy on some not needed procedures for my child, then I got a second and third opinion. Placed braces on baby teeth limiting their ability to fall out on their own then suggested an extraction.

Fantastic experience: This place was very clean and fun for the kids. They had a slide and fun activities. The staff is very friendly. Especially the front desk. Location is great and parking is convenient.

Positive experience: I had to make a switch from my kids Pediatric Dentist of 10 years because I didn’t think they were cleaning good enough. I chose Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry based on reviews. It is so cute and comfortable in here, so far I’m happy of the change

Positive experience: Update: Saw orthodontist today. The staff was very nice. They were running behind so we waited an hour after the initial xray to get called upstairs where orthodontics is housed. Been coming here for a couple years now we love Dr. Handa. We booked during a hectic time of year. The dental hygienist was overworked and open about it.

Fantastic experience: Staff is professional and welcoming. They definitely know how to work with kids. My grandkids get excited when they realize we are going to the dentist with the slide and big mouth because they get to brush the teeth.

Negative experience: Updated: I wish I could remove the only star there is. After being told over and over by staff active duty was in network for everything INCLUDING the anesthesia I'm now out over $1000 because who they had in for my sons care was out of network. Was told I would get 60% back by Tricare but paid up front to make the appointment and cannot get back any of it. They didn't even take the time to run the preauthorization, like they said they were going to do before the appointment. Avoid this place like the plague. This is solely based on the office staff not the dentist. I do NOT recommend taking your child here, especially if you're a Tricare beneficiary. I have paid all my bills everytime we have been in, some in advance. We got in an argument several months ago about our Tricare coverage even after I had called to confirm with Tricare THREE times that they would cover the nitrous gas with my son's autism diagnosis. The staff here insisted they would not and and I had to pay for it in the office with the promise they would reimburse me if Tricare came through. I have the receipt and our insurance's EOB showing both I and Tricare have paid them. I've tried asking them about the reimbursement for that and an eight dollar credit that never showed up and the front staff played dumb saying they had no clue what I was talking about twice. I then contacted our insurance to try and file a claim instead and after they tried to call the office to figure out what happened they were given a story on how they kept the $38 we are owed because they claimed we were didn't pay $17 for xrays. Again I've paid every bill I have gotten in full and that math doesn't even make sense. I do not trust this buisness after they have broken promises, played dumb, and are now making up stories to pocket money that is not theirs. This is a horrible buisness practice. Another thing to note, they never keep appointment times. That is another huge issue when you're supposedly a special needs dentist. Kids with autism do not do well with change. We have to prepare our son for appointments and changes in routines well in advance with visual schedules. The last two appointments they changed without even informing us the parents. We did not find out until the appointment reminder was different and then had to call and confirm it wasn't a mistake. The first time they changed the entire day without informing us at all and then the second time they changed the time on us from first thing in the morning to almost midday for a procedure where my husband had already asked off for a specific time to watch our infant during it. Nothing about how this clinic is run outside of the actual medical staff is professional at all.

Positive experience: Just ok for children’s dentist. Pros: a small play area, prize given at the end, conveniently located, additional parking in the back, lots of seating in waiting room. Cons: You have to fill out ALL the paperwork every 6 months and they feel this is ‘normal.’ I feel like a # and they are more interested in charging me for all the fees (including 3% credit card charge), X-rays EVERY 6 months, additional fee for fluoride, etc etc. The staff could be more welcoming and friendly. Would love an extra chair to put my purse on, at the dental chair.

Negative experience: 2 times I’ve came here and they scheduled me for 1:30 and I show up and they tell me they are closed for lunch and my appointment is at 2pm! It’s absolutely ridiculous!

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with this dental office. Not only were they rude and dismissive when I called to make an appointment, but the actual diagnosis was also highly questionable. They told me my daughter had three cavities and needed a surgical procedure and to be sedated, quoting me $1,400, saying my insurance didn’t cover anything, I called my insurance they did in fact covered the procedure except sedation. Thankfully, I went to another clinic for a second opinion. At the new clinic, the dentist said the cavities were so small they could barely see them and that no procedure was needed—just basic care to prevent them from growing. I’m shocked by the pressure to agree to an expensive, unnecessary treatment and how unwelcoming the staff was from the start. I wouldn’t trust this office again and strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to anything here.

Fantastic experience: My 17 yr old who is a huge baby got a procedure done and the ladies were soooo amazing with him and made sure he as ok. Talked to him and made him feel soo comfortable. Thank you truly for keeping my baby safe and being just so awesome

Fantastic experience: Sunshine Pediatric Dentestry is one Absolutely amazing! I love how kid friendly the environment is and my boys love the TVs above the dentist chairs. The Dentist here are amazing and so patient with the boys my kids have ADHD so it’s hard for them sometimes to be still but they are so patient and loving. All the receptionist are so kind and always sweet. Absolutely amazing place for kids to enjoy the dentist and not be scared. My kids love coming to the dentist Definitely would recommend.

Positive experience: We started going to Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry 3 years ago and have have absolutely LOVED every visit, up until this one. It had a different feel this time. The front desk staff wasn't as friendly as they used to be, and then the dental hygienist who cleaned my children's teeth was so curt & peevish. She told my son (12) his tongue was pushing her thumb (he said he was trying not to, but she was hurting him.) And I could see my daughter's legs tensed up during her cleaning. Also, she scoffed when I told her my son had a wisdom tooth removed and said "no, they won't do that this young". So when she relayed my request to see how his molar was growing in, she changed my words and said "he had a molar removed and mom wants to see how his other molar is growing in". I looked at the doctor and said "No. He had a WISDOM TOOTH removed because it was blocking his molar, and I want to see how his molar is growing in now!" Good grief. Im not an idiot, and y'all are the ones who sent us to have this surgery done!!! I have NEVER heard my kids complain after leaving the dentist or say that it hurt like they did this time!! I want to try going back one more time, but if it has the same vibes, it will be our last visit. I do not want my children to dread going to the dentist or leave saying it hurt.

Negative experience: Military families please avoid this place! Absolutely ridiculous to charge a military family for requesting dental records due to moving. I recommend finding a military friendly dental office. My dentist at a different office printed my records no problem and handed them to me the same day with no charge at all. According to Texas law “Dentists must not charge for retrieval of these records.” I guess all sunshine pediatric cares about is taking your money. It took me paying them a ridiculous amount for the digital copies, plus emailing and calling them multiple times. I had to wait on the phone until they sent them to finally receive a copy of my kids records just by email! They also said they sent it to the wrong email at first! So now against HIPAA, they released our records to a random person’s email!! It was conveyed repeatedly how important it was that we receive the records due to extremely important military deadlines and I even offered to go into the office to pick up physical copies and they wouldn’t allow it. Sunshine pediatric front desk was apathetic and dismissive. It should never be this difficult to access your child’s health information. It is illegal and against patient rights to withhold our records from us! Such a shame to give parents the run around for a simple request. This office needs to reevaluate their ethics and remember their responsibility to all families including our military children. We are so disappointed in how we were treated and how our situation was handled by this office. Our military community deserves better.

Negative experience: The absolute worst visit I have had as a new customer in 7 years of my child’s life! I requested a call from the main doctor & I’m still waiting for a call a week later. The rudest nurses & they have clearly no knowledge what it is to work with children. Never will I back to this pediatrician again!

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I absolutely would. I’ve had an incredibly frustrating experience with this dental office this year. My family and I have been patients here for nearly four years, but over the past year or two, something seems to have changed administratively. I updated my insurance information in January, but this office has continued to submit claims and provide treatment plans based on the outdated insurance details from last year, even after I gave them the correct information. When I repeatedly contacted them by phone and email about discrepancies in what I was being charged (I was overcharged by 31.5%), I received inconsistent and confusing responses each time, and the issue remains unresolved. I’ve now emailed the office five times, attaching all necessary documentation and explicitly requesting updates, especially in my last three emails, but I’ve received zero responses. I called this morning to confirm if they were receiving my emails, and I was told they were, but no one has had the chance to review them yet. I am beyond frustrated. If you’re using this practice, I strongly recommend reviewing your Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). Make sure everything is in order, because it’s clear this office isn’t keeping track of things on their end. You can find your EOB by logging into your insurance company’s website. Don’t let yourself be taken advantage of like we have been. This situation is completely ridiculous, and the amount of money they owe me could feed my family for two weeks. I’m not someone who typically writes negative reviews, but I know many people don’t know how to handle this kind of issue, and I don’t want anyone else to go through the same frustrating experience we’ve had. Also, just to make you aware, a lot of these positive reviews were incentivized with free electric toothbrushes at the front desk.

Fantastic experience: I take my 3 kids here for both pediatric dentistry work and pediatric orthodontic work. We have been with this company for over a year now and have loved each experience! Scheduling appointments and check ins are quick and easy. The staff is always helpful and accommodating to any need we have! We love the space downstairs because the kids can play while they wait, and they have a small reward system for the kids after each visit! They love coming here. Dr. Reese is a great orthodontist and very articulate, she is ready to listen and help my child get to where she needs to be! We will always be loyal customers!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Reese and her team in Orthodontics upstairs and the Pediatric Dentistry providers & staff downstairs consistently do an excellent job treating my 10 year old son (living with special needs) and daughter, age 7. They have a beautiful, kid-friendly practice setting that our kiddos love!

Negative experience: My daughter has been under the care of this dental practice for 7 years, and I have never had any concerns until now. At each appointment, I was given reassurance that her teeth were in good condition and that our efforts to maintain good oral hygiene were paying off. Nonetheless, her most recent appointment revealed a cavity. I was subsequently informed that the tooth had been labeled as “Watching” but was never informed at any appointment that the tooth was being watched for a possible cavity. This information should have been disclosed at each visit.

Negative experience: We have been taking my two kids for several years. Over the years the waiting time has increased more and more. Parking is another issue that is bad. It’s hard to find parking most of the time. Today, I took my son for a check up and we waited over 50 mins in the waiting room. When called, we had to wait for 20 more mins to be seen in 5. Although Staff is friendly and Offices are clean, they are managing poorly the place and this is demeriting badly the experience. Considering to move my children to another practice.

Negative experience: Although I’ve had good experiences here and the girls seem to overall like this place the wait times can get ridiculous. Make sure if you’re coming during a busy time that you have at least 2 hours to spare. My appt was at 10:30 and I wasn’t taken back after 11 and didn’t leave till after 12:30. I overheard another on say she was here for 3 hours and her poor kids were running wild with frustration. Spring break or not there’s a schedule to adhere to so I don’t understand if they are overbooking, taking walk-in’s, or what. I know if I would have walked in late I would be asked to reschedule but I guess if they are late it’s ok… There was NO parking and I was told to park in the only spot left which was a handicapped spot. This isn’t first time this has happened but I have a newborn at home and this really put stress on my family to coordinate extra unplanned care for baby at home. I don’t know if I will continue to come back after 6 years of loyalty. I pay out of pocket ($120) and I’m not sure this is worth my time and added stress just to see dentist for 5 min. The kids got tired and over stimulated with all the chaos. Please schedule within capacity and stick to schedule. I work in patient care and to be this late for routine care is really frustrating and disappointing.

Fantastic experience: The service and staff have been amazing. My kids love coming and never put up a fight to see the dentist or ortho as they would before we switched dentists. Scheduling and communications great. There are never long waits and as many times as I've gone, the waiting room is never crowded or overbooked. I would definitely recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: Staff at sunshine pediatric is really nice and can tell they have experience with children, they took care of my kids very well made them smile and at ease them while doing their dental procedure on them, sometimes dental visits for children can be scary, but with my children the staff is real good in keeping them smiling and calm. They are also really quick and didn't take too long.

Negative experience: The checkin process was outrageous. Going in as a new patient with prefilled documents before hand( they couldn’t find any), and still having to wait 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment was not acceptable. The photos online looked nice, but it is way too tight with as many patients they had at one time. During checkin I was asked if it would be okay if fluoride was administered- which I REJECTED. I was finally called back into a room that felt like a sauna, it was so hot in there, and the doctor came in, brushed my daughters two teeth and said “okay looks good”. As a first time mom, I was not pleased with my experience. The doctor proceeded to give fluoride without explaining what it was and also without noticing I didn’t ask for it. Overall, I truly don’t appreciate how my visit went. We’ll be canceling appointments going forward.

Positive experience: We had been going to Sunshine for a few years now and after the last visit we decided we should try somewhere new. My kids are seen there every 6 months for cleanings .. but every single time we have appointments there is some kind of documents and paperwork to fill out and they aren’t just little surveys they are 2-3 pages. And they say well we need updated info every year.. then why every single visit am I completing paperwork on my phone and in the office ?? Just frustrating to always be filling something out. Why not just ask upon arrival “has anything changed to the family or medical history” if we say no then BAM move on if there is then we update it .. plus The office always feels busy but this last visit just felt like a mad rush, a mad rush until it was time for the dentist to come take a look then we waited .. and waited .. and waited some more. My daughter’s ortho left last year and we have been seeing her at her clinic but I think it’s time to find an office that isn’t about in and out money and more about the quality. And I get not everyone will agree with this review and that is totally okay. :)

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience! I decided to switch my kids over to Sunshine Pediatric Dentistry and the care was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind and patient. One of my daughter’s appointments accidentally got cancelled, but they were able to work her in with no problem and didn’t make me feel like it was an inconvenience. They all made sure my kids felt comfortable and safe, explaining each step enthusiasm. The office has such a welcoming atmosphere— my kids loved playing here and didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend this place!

Negative experience: If I could rate this place a zero I would. It has changed so much since Dr. Font was here. The customer service used to be great but after the new management took over it is no longer the same. I called to ask about payment and was told one thing over the phone by account services and then I showed up in person and Michelle at the front desk said account services doesn’t have the right information, so don’t rely on getting accurate information from them. She was so fixed on charging me a fee to pay for my daughter’s retainers. The fees are so high just to pay with a credit card and you have no other choice but to pay it and they will make it hard to pay any other way. She was also very rude and not helpful at all. If you’re looking for a good office with good customer service, look elsewhere because that’s not the case here anymore sadly.

Positive experience: I had a good experience with the clinic until today. I had previously canceled an appointment for my children due to covid and rescheduled to make sure no one outside our home was to get ill. I had a baby 5 days ago and didn't go with my children to today's appointment. My husband and sister took them. Upon arrival they noticed that the lady that took them to the back sounded sick. I don't think it's fair to my family to be put at risk just so someone makes a paycheck. I called the clinic and spoke to andi. She said that she tells her employees to call in or not show if they're sick. According to her, there's no one sick in her clinic, but my husband daughter and sister have no reason to lie. Anyhow, if my family happens to get sick, I won't be taking my children back. The courtesy they expect out of their patients isn't reciprocated.

Negative experience: Staff made me feel so uncomfortable. Tone and all. Not only that, I gave my child’s dental insurance information and it never processed through with her insurance. I paid almost $300 out of pocket for her appointment. Nothing shows up on the insurance on her end. I would not recommend taking your child to this dentist office. They give judgemental looks if your child has a cavity.

Negative experience: I have been taking my now 6 year old since he was born and everything has been great. Up until this point when I have been trying to schedule him for treatment since November and every time I schedule they continue to call me about 1 week before the appointment to reschedule and reschedule me a month or more out. Ridiculous, please stop scheduling appointments if they cannot be completed.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my daughter here since her very first dental appointment and she’s going to be 4 years old soon. We have never had a bad experience! I now take my son here as well and don’t plan on changing dentists anytime soon. Nurse Maria is our favorite! You can tell she loves her job and loves doing what she can to make the process easiest and the kids feel the most comfortable.

Fantastic experience: After my child’s dentist of 15 years retired I was scared not thinking I could find another dentist like him but I was wrong. I have been coming to sunshine pediatrics for 2 years, the staff is so kind front and back. Dr. Handa is amazing and kind.

Positive experience: Staff, techs, and providers were very nice. Only downfall for today’s visit was the length of time we had to wait to be seen which we have never been experienced before. Equally addressing and speaking to both parents of patients would also be beneficial.

Negative experience: I unfortunately can’t recommend this orthodontist, especially if you’re a military family. We paid in full for my son’s phase one braces, warning them from the beginning we had less than 18 months before we moved. During the expansion they sent us home numerous times to keep expanding, for months. When they finally decided to replace it with a new expander, the current one had already been completely maxed out, and who knows for how long. They put in a new expander that we went in numerous times for because it fit incorrectly and was causing him pain. If your child has issues, the orthodontist only works a few days a week and can not help in urgent matters. We finally got on the calendar for braces and when I had to reschedule his appointment their soonest availability was TWO MONTHS out. Which would give my child only 4 months in the braces, unlikely to accomplish what it needs to (or what we paid for). They had no other solution for us. The people are nice, but the lack of availability and other issues has made this an extremely difficult experience. Would recommend looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I love it here!! My favorite thing is how friendly the entire staff is from the front receptionist to the doctors in the back everyone is always so helpful and welcoming. Secondly, I love how the wait time is little to none they get you in and out with care. Lastly, as a parent with kids of special needs they are so patiently with them they don’t give up or get frustrated and they treat them like they know them personally… I highly recommend them i genuinely love it here

Fantastic experience: Our daughter is special needs and uses a walker. The staff is beyond amazing with her. They treat her with such care and even let us park in a “non spot” up front when I told them no parking left up front so she could walk in closer to the front door. Love them! She loves the slide in the lobby and that they always have fun movies playing and the prize machine when she walks out. Highly recommended!!!

Fantastic experience: I was nervous about my son getting teeth pulled. They did such a great job and kept him comfortable. I like that they went into detail about steps he needs to getting braces. They are very detailed in what they do.
