My initial visit was extremely informative, and I felt like everything was clearly explained to me. I had my first cleaning with Ciara, and she was simply the best! Negative experience: This is very much a corporate chain focused on money. After a cancelation from another party and I having showed up 30min early they suggested combing two appoints in one for fillings They assured me that it wouldn't take more than the 30min I was already there for and there would be no harm in combining. This was the most painful experience I have ever had at a dentist. Not from the fillings but from the insane amount if time they left my mouth pried open. I was there two hours after the time they assured me I would be don't. Resulting in me being late to work and in excruciating pain in my jaw (not the teeth that were worked on but my jaw from being held open for hours). Additionally they try to force you into services you did not schedule.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist Kelly Driscoll was attentive, diligent and above all careful with my teeth cleaning. She performed all scheduled steps to make sure my teeth continued to be healthy.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this practice for a couple months now and I wanted to give a shout out to my hygienist Ciara. She is very detailed in her explanations for the questions you have, and during the cleaning process, she does a great job explaining each step of the process she is in and going to do, giving you proper heads up on what to expect, and is very clear on allowing you to speak up when needed and how. She is very thoughtful in this way. Ciara is also helpful with questions regarding at home dental care for specific issues. Also shout out to my invisalign person (sorry her name escapes me) but she was very helpful with my questions on the process and describing the expectations with the treatment.

Fantastic experience: Broke a tooth 4 p.m. on a Tuesday. Call Dr. Lee at Ft. Hamer Dental. They got me in at 7 the next morning. Alana did a quick assessment of the situation, including X-rays, and determined we couldn't save the tooth. Dr. Lee had the rest of that tooth pulled in less than 1 hour. Great staff, reasonable pricing and excellent care. Dr. Lee is a funny guy too!

Fantastic experience: I’m pleased to have found Fort Hammer Dental Care. The staff and technicians as well as the dentist were professional and caring. I’ve had several procedures done and today I had a cleaning. Every procedure was explained and options were given for my dental plan. There wasn’t pressure to commit to what I wanted done. I highly recommend Fort Hammer Dental Care.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with my visit today. The hygienist was rude and condescending and couldn’t manage the suction. I had water going down my neck constantly. She was abrupt and really needs to work on her people skills. Also, the bill was padded with extra charges and I ended up being charged almost $200 extra when my cleaning is covered by my dental insurance.

Fantastic experience: Have been going to this dentist since I moved to Florida. The office is always clean and the receptionists are always helpful. The hygienists are all thorough and the testing and x-rays are above and beyond what I have had at other dentist offices. I also did my Invisalign treatment with them and it was one of the best decisions I have made for my overall health. I am very satisfied and will continue going here.

Positive experience: Had work done today. Had work done today on my top left back tooth To get a crown. The dentist & Dental assistant I had it was very patient because I was very nervous. I also had my teeth cleaned with dental hygienist Kelly yesterday and she did a very nice job. My only suggestion to or dental care is maybe after somebody gets their teeth cleaned you could give them toothbrush, dental floss and a little travel size toothpaste. It’s really inexpensive to do and it’s a nice touch Especially after the amount of money, your patience to spend with you to get the work done. My overall experience is everybody’s very professional and kind

Negative experience: I literally just hung up with this office & is providing a fresh review. I provided my information online to schedule a possible appointment. I received a call, immediately asking for my insurance information. I told them that I was working & asked if I could call back. She caller advised that they close in 30 minutes & would need my insurance information for my scheduled 8am appointment. I didn’t sign up for that. She continuously asked me another time that would work for “that date.” While I continuously asked which date she was talking about, she increased in attitude & was extremely rude. Honestly, I cursed her & hung up. I’ve never seen someone so rude in what’s supposed to be a professional setting. Believe the reviews.

Fantastic experience: my husband had a yearly checkup, followed by semi annual cleaning with hygienist Kelly . Everyone was professional and seemed to work well together . His next appointment is for a crown, looking forward to the procedure

Fantastic experience: The hygienist, Amy, was very personable throughout the cleaning process. Dr. Kerrigan filled three teeth, without Novocain pursuant to my request. Sandra, Dr. Kerrigan's assistant, quietly performed her duties. Overall it was as comfortable as possible. Very pleased.

Positive experience: Hygienist is fantastic. Check in is a breeze. Payment process is simple, fast, accurate. The rest of the office is deficient. Despite calling twice to advise if cash pay and request estimate, messages were never passed on.i was called and told that they would have no way to know I wanted cash pay, despite me calling twice. I was told that's not their fault that the message wasn't taken nor passed on. Apparently their deficiency is the clients fault.

Negative experience: This office staff is horrible. They cancel appointments if you miss ONE of their 5 reminder texts (be sure not to a single one!), and also would not schedule a quick ortho visit for my daughter for 3 weeks because ONE of the dentists is on vacation. They are extremely rude and I have confirmed with my dental insurance they even bill incorrectly. Save yourself the aggravation!

Negative experience: I’ve had nothing but issues with Fort Hamer Dental, and my recent experience with their billing department was the final straw. Over six months ago, I provided both of my dental insurance cards since I had just switched plans and was told they would take care of billing. Now, over six months later, they are trying to bill me $81 and claim my insurance denied it. When I called to clarify, the staff member was rude and dismissive, cutting me off with “Do you wanna know why you got charged or not?” I asked why they didn’t bill the other insurance I provided, and she told me to “send the bill to your insurance so they cover it” — something that should have been done by them. This is just another example of the unethical billing practices I’ve experienced here: repeated charges, lack of communication, and now blatant disrespect toward patients. I would strongly caution anyone considering this practice.

Negative experience: Will not be returning to this office, been going there few years for my Invisalign My teeth still not straightened. Don’t go here as they don’t do what they state. Paid 4000 was offered back 500 dollars. I feel i should be refunded the full amount as i now need to go somewhere else and pay again. Had issue at front desk very unprofessional treated.

Let me just say that they send you email confirmation saying if your not going to make it to call or reply to said email well as I took the 45min drive (I live in Sarasota) and was 20mins EARLY to said appointment they cancelled and gave it away I didn't answer my phone because I was driving to the appointment !What is the point in the email if they're gonna cancel it anyways I was so upset!

Positive experience: Ciara has amazing hands. I went in anxious about deep root cleaning. I had it done before, 20 years ago. Then, it was very painful and my mouth bled. With Ciara, it was almost a pleasure to be there. I highly recommend Ciara. Her skill and attention to detail are second to none. She also takes great care to be sure the patient knows what is happening at all times by explaining even small details. Our dental assistant, not so much. She was hurried and rough. She accidentally knocked my teeth with an instrument because she was distracted by conversation. And, some of that conversation was neither appropriate nor welcome. My fillings feel rough and sloppy. It feels like two molars are bonded together so that I can't floss. My wife feels the same about her fillings, done by the same person. We will both return to have the fillings sanded down. The dentist is personable although rushed. The place is a factory. A nice looking, well appointed, very, very, very expensive factory. The usual xray, cancer check, etc., deep root cleaning, and 4 fillings was just under 2k and it took 2 hours. Additional services like Invisalign were strongly pushed on us. All in all, it is a dentist's office close to my home that is clean with a friendly staff.

Positive experience: Loved my cleaning yesterday- excellent hygienist! BUT whatever that new device that is being used to suction water out of your mouth; it looks like a leaf, is terrible. Doesn’t function properly- water goes everywhere and it doesn’t have the suction capacity as the device that has been used for decades. Won’t be back if this is the new norm
