Negative experience: I went to my 11:30 appointment about 20 minutes early to feel out paperwork as they asked. It was a little so getting into the hygienist but not bad. I had x-rays and then a cleaning. The hygienists left for a long time and didn’t say anything. Finally I caught her walking by and I asked if I’m waiting to see the dentist. She said yes and he’ll be here in a second. I never saw her again and I waited a long time. About ten minutes after 1:00, I finally got up and left. At the front desk I asked if I owed anything and I told him I couldn’t wait any longer for the dentist. He was going to try and set me up with a follow-up to get with the dentist and he said, I can see that you’re in a hurry so I’ll call you later. I haven’t received a call yet. This was my first visit with this dentist.

Positive experience: They are juggling a lot of patients which caused me to wait a bit.

Fantastic experience: Peppermint Dental, Sherman, Tx they have the kindest and professional staffs! As soon you call or enter their office, you feel you are in good hands. You feel the care and the professionalism. Mrs. Lesley at the reception she went out of her way to provide all the help, Mr. Mike, the manager explained to us very gently our insurance copay, Dr. Malaika is wonderful, she explains professionally and she is so funny, she makes you feel very comfortable, Mrs. Stephanie, the Hygienist did the deep cleaning on my teeth. She is an amazing lady, so kind and professional, she cleaned my teeth very well very smoothly, so I am coming back for more works and maintenance on my teeth. First time I enjoyed the dentist visit! I recommend the Sherman location big time! Hani Bawary

Positive experience: Been going here for years but today the office was so dirty and smelled foul. We like the dentist, and the front desk staff are really great, but this office needs an over haul. Floors and other surfaces are gross in waiting, hallways and especially in the actual rooms. Its not the type of atmosphere that gives confidence in the service.

Fantastic experience: Went to Peppermint Dental as a referral from my spouse and because I was unhappy with a group in Corinth, TX who constantly pressured me into wisdom teeth extractions, crowns and even invisalign, and I was already in my sixties!! Also a large fancy Dental Group in Sherman that was more of the same, plus, they fit me with a crown that they made in office that continually causes me to now bite my cheek even after multiple adjustments they made. Ended up having a root canal on the tooth with this awful crown. If you don't want to be high pressured into Dental work you don't want or feel you need, stop going to these fancy and expensive Group Dental Offices and try Peppermint Dental. No high pressure and completely competent dentists who do what YOU want and ask them to do .

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I will not be going back. I had one of the worst teeth cleanings I’ve ever had. From the moment I checked in to the moment they called me back, I waited a total of 40 minutes. My cleaning was rushed. I don’t ever expect my cleanings to take very long as my dental hygiene is pretty good but from start to finish it was terrible.

Next thing I know, I got a text message from their office letting me know because I didn’t confirm my appointment via text it was canceled. What do they expect people to do when they are working and didn’t see the message. What a joke!

Negative experience: I had a root canal and a bridge done at this place almost 2 years ago. The bridge has completely came off for the second time and when I called to make an appointment to have it re cemented I was informed that they only stand behind their work for ONE YEAR and that I would need to pay to have it re cemented. I do not recommend this office at all. To have spent the amount of money I did and to be told they won’t fix something they did - very unprofessional. If I could leave zero stars I would. Also - the office was unwilling to even call my dental insurance to have my benefits explained and would not let me email my insurance card and just told me to pay out of pocket - no thanks! Thankfully I found another dentist office who was happy to check my benefits and agreed to accept them!

Positive experience: Much more professional than where I was going before to Treat kids and adult adults. Just received my bill in the mail from my insurance and I found I was charged for fluoride which I did not use because I could not afford it!!! yet I was charged so I’m not happy about that and extra x-rays that are not covered by my insurance that should be talked about ahead of time and agreed on . We just left our last dentist due to lack of professionalism. Hopefully this place just made one mistake. Please let me know if you have recommendations for Affordable Dentist in this area that do teen Medicaid Patient and braces and also see adults!

Fantastic experience: From the time I walked in, the staff, assistance was great and so polite and treated me with care. The doctor came in, she was very polite and talked to me about my options. She was able to write me a couple of prescriptions to elevate the pain I was in and recommended a specialist to take care of my needs.

They also started my treatment right away and did a deep cleaning the same day. It wasn’t painful at all and everyone was really kind and made me feel comfortable. Negative experience: From 5 to 1 star! Re-review Consumer alert for Peppermint Dental in Sherman. I had my teeth scaled, each quadrant. I assigned benefits so they could file the claim and receive payment. I noticed my balance was higher than what my insurance company said I was responsible for so I checked into it. There were 3 codes for that day but only 2 were on my EOB. It turns out they CHOSE not to file it because it isn't covered which is correct. But, it is denied as part of the primary procedure and NOT patient responsibly so they are supposed to write that off. It took 4 months and multiple phone calls to get it resolved. Once i presented the corrected EOBs they made an anxious apology because they knew i caught them being shady and trying to screw me out of $120. I got my money back. Peppermint, you lost a 7 year relationship with my entire family. Fair warning: Make sure you providers are billing for all of your charges. Do not pay anything that hasn't been filed with your insurance carrier. Watch out for crooks with pretty smiles!

Negative experience: My first visit at this place and I left feeling bamboozled. I recently relocated to the Sherman/Denison area and had scheduled my initial visit which should have been my 6mos cleaning. I get xrays, which I am not sure I needed them but hey, it's a new dentist, didn't mind. Sit down in the chair, the hygienist was friendly, she goes over my x-rays. I am thinking "OK, she is really knowledgeable to be a hygienist." All of my previous dentist that I have had (military family, so we have lived in several different locations), had the hygienist to clean my teeth prior to the dentist coming to check me out and give me their recommendations and suggestions. This did not happen. Actually, she mentioned that they were not going to clean my teeth...odd, seeing as that was why I was there. The dentist comes in, asks me about the important stuff like "You mentioned that you wanted your teeth whittened" and I was stressing more of an interest in a fitted mouth guard and tooth repair.... They both left me there for a while, no communication as to what was next, which led me to believe that they were milking my insurance. Then a guy comes in telling me that I have been diagnosed with gum disease and that I need a deep cleaning that would be $307, then I would need to return every 3 months for maintenance at around $15 each visit. Now at this point I am flabbergasted because all the hygienist and dentist both are telling me everything looks good, but now this man is telling me the dentist "diagnosed" me with gum disease. Now, I am not a dentist, but aren't your gums supposed to look a type of way and aren't they supposed to bleed when you brush them. My gums have looked how they have always looked and do not bleed when I brush or floss them. So how is it that I have gum disease? And why is it the DENTIST did not tell, explain, or talk me through this "diagnosis" when he was poking and prodding my gums? First time visiting and I tell you UNSAT. They have lost my family as a customer. And I am also thinking that I should call my insurance to make sure they did file a claim for cleaning my teeth when all they really did was x-rays. So hard to find great producers of quality workmanship and integrity these days. Definitely felt like I was dooped with this place. Will not be returning. Obviously everyone will have their own experiences. This was how my first visit with Peppermint Dental was for me. Not sure what their deal is, but I have consistently tried to ensure that I go to the dentist every 6 months and I have not experienced anything such as this. This was a failure in my eyes. They seem to be more about money not quality of customer service.
