Fantastic experience: I had an infected tooth. It was an old one back lower. It needed to be pulled and cleared of infection. What a job. The staff and dentist there are terrific. They made me feel comfortable even in pain. Nurse Kat was very helpful in seeing my needs and helping the Dentist. They worked hard for hours. I truly recommend this wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Negative experience: Someone called me from your office just now( 11/17/2025) and I tried to explain regarding the Billing issue for my wife and she hang up phone without listening my concern . It is unacceptable Still The claim not submitted to her insurance and I am getting bill for that service. I need to talk with someone who can help me on this. I tried to call several times but no one getting back to me . I am not getting any response. Please help me on this to resolve this matter. My wife went for Regular cleaning on 07/24/25. She has 2 Insurance (Blue Cross and Blue shield of Illinois (Primary) and Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Secondary) . Everytime her claim submitted to Secondary Insurance without filing the Claim to her Primary insurance .Secondary Insurance declined all claims as it supposed to submit first to Primary and then Secondary. Your office claiming to pay the payment as Insurance declined the claim . Though she has 2 insurance but she didn't get any benefit of that because your office staff does not know how to submit the claim and where to submit the claim. Most Recently for her office visit claim submitted to again Secondary Insurance without filing to her Primary Insurance and also when It filed to secondary insurance the subscriber name is wrong , she is not the subscriber for her secondary insurance , I am the subscriber for her secondary Insurance and she is the subscriber to her Primary insurance which is Blue Cross and Blue shield of Illinois not Anthem Blue Cross and Blue shield. Horrible Experience for last 2 and 1/2 years and this is going on for everytime. Office Manager has no idea how to submit the claim and she does not know difference between 2 insurance she has. she always think both are same insurance , she has no clue how to submit the claim . I repeatedly bring this issue for long time with her but she does not want to listen and also she is very rude if I ask her any questions . She wants me to pay whatever she ask for . Very Very Bad experience. I tried to contact Regional Manager several times I called /stop by to talk with her but unfortunately she never call me or talk with me. I would like to request again to take immediate action regarding issue to resolve and I can stop by or be on a call to discuss this matter ASAP . I sincerely hope someone will look into this matter and take proper action before it go out of hand . Remember Insurance will not process any claims which is more then 1 year from the dare of service.

Kat, my dental assistant was great explaining everything being done to me. Dr. John is skilled, gentle and time conscious. He doesn’t keep you in the chair unusually long. Fantastic experience: Dr Buist’s dental implants have given me back the ability to eat what I choose and I feel great when I smile! The work was extensive, but (to my surprise) it was pain free with fast healing. Fantastic experience: The Doctor that places implants and the Doctor the does the finishing work, are both caring and want your experience, while in their care, to be A+. I drive 45 min. Each way from The Villages because I was unable to find a provider with better bedside manners than those two! Staff is very friendly!

Hygienist Laura (??) was sooo sweet and kind, giving me honest and sincere recommendations for treatment options and giving me the time I needed to figure out what treatments I wanted to do that day. I never felt like I was being pressured into adding more services onto my visit, or that certain treatments were mandatory. She continually made sure I was comfortable and communicated every step of the way so I knew what was going on. Overall, the experience was great and I am so glad I chose Citrus Tower! Would definitely recommend.

Negative experience: Went in to get a cleaning in june. Paid 200 cash because I wasn't sure my insurance would cover it. They did cover it and I can't get my money back. I've called multiple times and they keep giving me the run around. We're almost in the middle of july and I'm still waiting. Would not reccommend doing business with à company with so little integrity.

Negative experience: This office is AWFUL !!!! Save your time and your money !!!!! They would set up an appointment and have you waiting almost an hour to bring you back billing is always a problem in this office Dr.SMITH needs more experience, a 5hr root canal is crazy and the prices are also expensive they charge every individual X-Ray and run up your insurance benefits. I recommend this office to my close friend because I’ve been going here since Dr.Adkins, and even my friend had a horrible experience with Dr.SMITH just getting a tooth extracted spent 3hrs there for a tooth extraction and was in horrible pain there is way better dental office in the area, all this office cares about it taking your money and them reaching their numbers for the month.

Comfortable care dental health professional dentis wear they stop the work for mi dental coz they commit Gouching .I have go to aspen dental wear they whan to do what they whan to do they refuse to get me a clean coz they whan me to get in a bill over 6000.00 dollars I sad no they to refuse to get me service then I lost my benefits for the year from my insurance coz they are doing scam to seniors so I had no choice to take then to court. Positive experience: I wish I could give this establishment a 5. I’ve been coming here for 5 plus years. Spencer is the best Hygienist that I have worked with. He makes me laugh, we catch up and we both know when to take things seriously. He is the only reason why I continue to go back to the establishment. If he ever left I would follow him!! And I have told him as such. Now the only reason why I am not giving this location a 5 is billing. 3 times there has been a mix up in my insurance. The first time was when I first starting going and they didn’t properly do an insurance verification. Everything was fine until the last 2 years. They continued to bill the wrong insurance. Mistakes do happen I understand this however when a patient is telling the biller what the issue is and how to rectify it the biller should listen. Instead of being dismissive and telling me the patient that I should have received an explanation of benefits. Well I’m sure I did however I called my insurance and there was not a claim by said business. At the end of the day be more patient. Listen to your patient. We are right some of the time.

Negative experience: Sessi took great care of me! She talked me through everything she was doing and even showed me a 3d picture of my teeth. I’ve never been to a dentist that was so thorough and kind. Highly recommend! Edit: The team is great but I keep getting bills. I’ve left multiple voicemails but no one has gotten back to me. I checked with my insurance and the office to make sure my insurance covered a routine cleaning. I’ve gotten bills for $89 (paid) and $281 (unpaid) even after paying a copay for the first visit. If this isn’t resolved I’ll have to find another dentist. This has been very frustrating and I’m hoping this gets escalated.

Negative experience: ** Update, we called twice and got the same rude incompetent woman each time. We have decided to take out ads in multiple lake county magazines and have mailers sent out letting the community know just how badly you are cheating your patients. Complete and utter scam dentist establishment and I am beyond tired of businesses operating this way. Verified the day before that there would be no extra charges, then on the day of service again verified that there would be no extra charges. Of course a month later we receive a bill for routine cleaning. It is YOUR responsibility to be up front with your patients and verify with insurance what they will cover BEFORE springing a surprise bill on a customer. I will be leaving negative reviews for you everywhere until the end of time. I promise you I will be sure and make sure you lose more than $122 in new patient sign ups going forward, hope it was worth it.

Fantastic experience: Love Citrus Tower Family Dental! This is only my second visit and I love my hygienist and the staff! I’ve not needed any other dental work since moving to Florida but I’m very happy to have found Citrus Tower Fsmily Dental!

Negative experience: Beyond disappointed with Citrus Tower Family Dental and will make sure to let everyone know to never bring their business here. I was a new patient and when I made my appointment I asked them to check that my insurance covered everything with them. They assured me they would check with my insurance and call the day before if there were any issues. There were none. The day of before they start the appointment, they tell you what any charges will be. I was told I would not be charged ANYTHING and that my insurance covered my routine cleaning. A month later I have now received a bill for $122. When I called to inquire why, the lady was extremely rude and said it was my responsibility to make sure my insurance covered it - even though they told me previously they check every patient’s insurance beforehand and let them know if something is not covered. I did not get anything out of the ordinary at this visit - routine cleaning and X-rays - that my insurance does cover. They did something extra without telling me and are now trying to charge me. This is unethical and a disgusting way to treat new patients. I will never be back and will be making sure to continue leaving reviews everywhere unless they are willing to resolve this.

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning and check up. My dental assistant Spencer was friendly and communicated every step of the way clearly. He explained the different xrays and scanning methods and the condition of my teeth in a manner that was i formative and open. I do need a little more work and Dr. Carson Smith came in and explained it all as well. He did not recommend anything unnecessary pr overly costly. Now we have a plan and my good old teeth will be in fine shape very soon. Nice practice, nice people and great work!

Positive experience: The care I received was great. I just had a cleaning and exam. The hygienist was thorough, kind, and knowledgeable. The dentist was okay, but I didn't have much interaction with him. What really drove me to this review was the bill I received after my visit. They are an in-network provider with my insurance. My insurance paid them their "agreed upon amount." The office sent me a bill for the difference between that amount and what they normally charge. Thankfully, I read my EOB and saw that was not supposed to happen! I called the office and they adjusted it, but I just want to warn others to keep an eye out for similar charges.

Negative experience: If I could, I would give a zero rating! Beware of Dr. Carson Smith. We trusted him at a dental office in The Villages. Appears he moves from dental office to dental office. Wife went in with a chipped tooth and came out with 4 extracted teeth, 6 tooth bridge, damaged lip that took a year to heal with dermatologist care and charged excessively of over $14,000! Per our dentist up North, Dr. Smith was very aggressive in his approach! BEWARE about recommendations to do work that is unnecessary!!!

Negative experience: Be AWARE of Dr Carson Smith. He previously worked at a dental office in The Villages. I went there as an emergency patient with a chipped lower tooth. ONE TOOTH. By the time I left that office Dr Carson Smith pulled 4 of my lower teeth and damaging two other teeth so he could put a bridge on. My lips were damaged throughout this procedure. Requiring numerous trips to a dermatologist. The bridge never fit properly causing years of discomfort for me. AGAIN BE AWARE !

Fantastic experience: Having been away from a dentist for the past four years, I was a little skeptical about my upcoming dental visit. I was pleasantly surprised by the care that I received from staff at the Citrus Tower Family Dental practice. The dental hygienist, Sessi, explained how the day's process worked. She was excellent at providing a pain-free cleaning procedure as well as outstanding customer care. The technology used (scanning, x-rays, screening) was state of the art. The dentist (Dr. Smith) was also very accommodating. All of my questions were answered. I did not feel rushed at any point during my visit. I definitely recommend this dental practice, especially for those who haven't been to the dentist in a while.

Prior to seeing Dr. John it had been several years since I had been in a dentist chair. Unfortunately, I had suffered quite a few traumatic experiences which caused me to be somewhat dentophobic. Dr. John was very helpful in calming my fears with patience and step by step explanations of what needed to be done; with no pressure! I am very much thankful I found him!

Negative experience: I recently moved to Florida and finding a new dentist was important. I read the reviews and decided to give citrus a try. The dental hygienist was great, easy to talk to, very friendly. We did x-rays and then I met with dr smith, he went over issues he saw on my x-ray. Told me I needed over $1000 of dental work. I consulted my dentist back home who I’ve been going to for 20 years and he told me to never go back there. He said there was nothing wrong with my teeth and the x-rays were fine. So either dr smith is new or un experienced. I won’t go back because I lost trust. It’s unfortunate because the hygienist cleaning my teeth was great.

Negative experience: ‼️LOOK FOR A DIFFERENT DENTIST‼️ I’ve been going here for a little under 5 years and the way i’ve been treated these last 2 years has been unacceptable. I got invisalign here and went through so many hoops to get my insurance to pay for it. I even paid over $1000 of my own money for it. Once the total has been paid, guess what?! THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS FOR UNPAID DEBT⁉️ It’s unreal how poor their billing department is. It is not just that either. 1 week ago I had an appointment scheduled on a friday. I get there and wait 20 minutes to be told I need to wait another 30 minutes or reschedule. Luckily I have fridays off so I reschedule 2 weeks from then for 11:30AM. I get called yesterday asking if I can come in at 12PM instead so I go “Sure.” I get to the office and the door is locked so I call and I’m told “We actually closed the office today.” …..? Two days I have been told I need to reschedule just to not get my appointment. I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.

Fantastic experience: I’m a dentist and I chose Dr John and Clarissa because I trust them. Dr John did an excellent job on two crowns. Clarissa did a wonderful job with my impressions and my temporary crowns. The office is beautiful and the equipment is new. He’s a caring, skilled man and I high recommend him. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Came in and needed emergency dental work. Dr. John and Irma took care of me got me in quick and extracted my tooth. The procedure was painless and quick. And thanks to the team and front desk who helped accommodate me in such a short time.

Negative experience: I have been coming to this place for some time but I will not be coming here anymore because of the office managers rudeness and disrespect at check out. I went for my regular cleaning and they had advise that my X-rays were covered and when I go to find out I’m being charged for them even though I specifically asked not to have them done as I did not want to pay out of pocket and only wanted the service that was covered by my insurance. She then had the nerve to send me to collection because I told her that she was charging me for something I clearly said I did not want and they confirmed I would not be charged, Because of people like this I will take my business elsewhere!

Fantastic experience: Very nice facility! staff was professional and friendly. They were able to get me in on short notice. Saved me some pain before the weekend. Would definitely recommend!

Positive experience: Office ladies nice. Front room is quiet and never crowded. As usual, you will have to wait for a while until the doctor can actually see you. It’s not as long a wait as other places, though. Moderately expensive but worth the level of care. If your insurance covers them, it’s a great place. If you’re out of pocket, it may or may not be the place for you. It depends on what you need done and how long you’d like the work to last. They will do it well and it will last longer than many other dental offices.

Fantastic experience: My previous dentist that I’ve been with for over 20 years has moved out of the area. I started with Citrus Tower Family Dental beginning of this year, and they were the best replacement that I could’ve ever found the other most knowledgeable. Their staff is so friendly and I feel so comfortable every time I go there like I’ve been there patient for years. Dr John is phenomenal and one of his assistants Klarassa. Everything is explained me step-by-step they don’t try to upsell me or overcharge the very fair very knowledgeable and the work is superb. The front desk Staff is very kind. They were hard to squeeze you in if there’s an emergency always sweet to deal with there’s nothing negative I could say office definitely work the try and you’ll most likely be a patient for life. I highly recommend them to everyone, especially if you are fanatical about your teeth as I am. Perfect 10.
