Positive experience: Good dentists & nice people! But i had to find another dentist because i paid $400+ for xrays & cleaning & they don’t take my insurance ☹️

Fantastic experience: I started my dental care with Philadelphia Dentistry in October and by mid December they’ve gotten me all the way together! I’ve had cleanings, fillings, and whitening in office and I’m grateful that I was able to follow the trajectory of care quickly and without challenges. Most of my work was completed by Valerie and Mimi who saw me through the process of laying a healthy foundation for the work I eventually wanted to have done in the future. Thank you to Jenaya for the full circle care, Stephen for help with financing, Devon for future planning, and Kayla and Skylar for welcoming me every time I came by.

Fantastic experience: I am a long time patient. The office cares for you as a person. Comfort and care are a high priority. You are part of the decision making and they make sure that you understand every aspect so that you are able to make an informed decision. I appreciate the wonderful treatment that I receive each and every time that I go there.

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning. They suggested X-rays. The X-rays were not covered by my insurance because I had them done a few months earlier with the oral surgeon they had recommended. I was refused a refund for the X-rays. I told the office that I wouldn’t be coming back. And then I was offered a refund that would be held and applied to my next visit. They were basically holding my refund hostage in exchange for keeping me as a patient. I again said that I wouldn’t be coming back and they kept my refund. Bottom line. They don’t care about you as a person or patient. They want to keep you coming back so they can continue to bill you. Even when what they do isn’t covered by your insurance.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could rate Philadelphia Dentistry higher than 5 stars! The atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff is incredibly enthusiastic.

Fantastic experience: Professionalism is Everything. I was happy about the personal experience and the doctors experience and efficiency in diagnosing and scheduling. I am a senior citizen and they also submitted my insurance reimbursement for me and I don’t have to hassle with that paperwork. My new dentist. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is no one’s favorite activity, but they use technology and communication to make things are efficient and easy as possible. Plus, the entire practice seems to love educating - not lecturing - patients and helping understand how to avoid future dental visits.

Fantastic experience: I took a brief hiatus from getting my teeth cleaned and ended up with a bunch of cavities when I returned. They were discovered and filled here and I've had a good experience here each time, even for the more difficult fillings. I'm bankrupt now but my teeth are in great shape! I always feel like the bell of the ball when I come in, everyone is very nice and welcoming. Dr. Mimi Jeon always provides great care and explains or shows me things when I ask. Felipe, who I've become friendly with, is always super helpful and awesome.

Fantastic experience: Drove from Louisiana to Philly for the game. My retainer was broken so I called them to see if they could help. They got me in and out due to my circumstances with zero attitude and amazing service. I can tell they’re committed to helping out new and existing patients. Negative experience: Quoted me almost $3k for 5 fillings which all had to be paid upfront. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for cosmetic dentistry and routine checkups since 2017. I always have a fantastic experience. All staff is friendly , respectful and very fun! It’s a bit difficult at times to get to the center city location due to lack of parking but I truly enjoy coming here so I make the trip anyway.

Fantastic experience: I went here for a cleaning & consultation, and it was a very pleasant experience! It was quick, informative, & effective. Erica, Skyler, Dr. Jeon, and the entire staff are super friendly & welcoming. Skyler in reception was very helpful in scheduling, answering insurance questions, & making me feel comfortable. It can be challenging finding the right dentist in the city, but Philadelphia dentistry is the place to go.

It good with remembering names, but i definitely Loved the place the check-in was super easy and fast and as soon as I walked in and arrived for my appointment, they let me in the back less than five minutes. They were very careful with understanding my needs, They gave me Some great recommendations for my dental work. I was very pleased with all the options that were given for me to be able to pay for my dental work. everyone was super nice and polite and very knowledgeable and they worked really fast. the best part about it is there’s not a lot of female dentist and mines was very very knowledgeable With a great personality!! Negative experience: Hate to leave a one-star review because I felt like the service I received was good; however they were very misleading when I asked if they “accepted my insurance.” Please note that when they say yes there’s a good chance they mean they “accept it as an out-of-network benefit”. You will pay more here than with a provider who is in-network with your insurance. I feel like I was really misled and ended up paying $100s more than I would have with an in-network provider. I can’t help feeling they know that anyone asking about insurance is asking about in-network benefits and they willfully choose to be obtuse because they know that if they’re actually transparent with you, you’ll go to another provider who is in-network. Such a shame because I was hoping to use their cosmetic dental services, which I knew wouldn’t be covered by insurance and was prepared to pay out-of-pocket for, but the shadiness around such standard services like the cleaning and fillings I had to do beforehand has left a very bad taste in my mouth. If you can’t attract and retain customers without lying through omission to them about such an important thing as insurance coverage, maybe you shouldn’t be in business.

Fantastic experience: Philadelphia Dentistry is the best dental practice I've been to in my 60 years of life. I started with them not too long ago and already I've had several cleanings, three cavities filled, and I'm scheduled to have an implant put in and a cracked crown replaced. In no time at all Philadelphia Dentistry has been putting my mouth back in first-rate order and they do it in a very friendly manner, professionally and painlessly. Dr. Jeon has been great, as well as my hygienist, Sophia, and my EDFA, Jessica. I couldn't ask for better people to be working on my teeth. I feel very fortunate that I found Philadelphia Dentistry. Fantastic experience: I've been a patient for over 8 years now. Always quick and efficient with their work. They are incredibly timely about getting you into the chair and getting started, and I feel completely comfortable the entire time that I am there. Everything being done is thoroughly explained to you and if you need a filling or other additional work down they fit you into an appointment within a few days of your check up. Get Zoom whitening done there, it'll change your life!

Fantastic experience: Just had a much needed cleaning at Philadelphia Dentistry. By far the best cleaning ever. Erica took her time, explaining what she was doing every step of the way. The X-ray showed a cracked tooth and Dr Ridge explained the importance of getting it fixed. I was able to speak to Stephen, the office manager, and he was very patient about explaining the cost and the reimbursement process. They were able to fit me in the same day to start the process of fixing it to decrease the number of visits. I HIGHLY recommend Philadelphia Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I've been coming here for about a decade plus, and every single time im reminded they're the pinnacle of dental services on earth. I can't recommend this place to anyone enough. Dr Ridge has been taking care of me the past few appointments over the years, and I've never had a worry. In times of uncertainty in life, its a treat to feel at ease about your Healthcare, and I thank Dr Circa and his team for being so consistent .

Negative experience: GET A SECOND OPINION. Philly Dental will diagnose you with fake cavities. I came to Philly Dentistry as a new patient, and after reviewing my x-rays, they told me I had 2 cavities that required urgent drilling and filling. I was a little skeptical because the cavities they showed me looked oddly perfectly symmetric. Stephen (office manager) kept pressuring me really hard in his office and on the phone to schedule for surgery right away. I ended up getting a second opinion from another dentist who found no cavities, so I went back to Philly Dental (another mistake) to give them a second chance. They said they needed a more comprehensive set of x-rays to get a better look, but these would be covered by my insurance plan. After looking at the new x-rays, they couldn't find the cavities they pressured me to have surgery on before and claimed maybe I had scratches on my teeth that affected their initial x-ray. Philly Dental then overbilled my insurance so I had to pay $200 out of pocket for their "comprehensive x-rays" to rule out their previous mistake. In summary, do not trust Philly Dental. They will do anything they can to take your money.

Fantastic experience: We were on vacation and my husband woke up with a very painful toothache. They got him in immediately. Everyone so friendly and professional. Very helpful . I would recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The front desk staff is always the friendliest. Erica was the bomb. Dr. Jeon was thorough and smiling bright. Cashier (Pascal?) was funny and approved of my cursive signature.

Fantastic experience: Best dental experience I’ve ever had! Everyone is so kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I was only in town for a week while on tour with a Broadway musical, and they were able to squeeze me in for a follow-up appointment after the initial exam. Huge shoutout to Felipe for making my experience so personal! I wish I lived in Philly so I could make them my permanent dentist office. Cannot recommend enough!

Negative experience: I booked an appointment after speaking with the front desk to verify that they take my insurance (Delta Dental), which they assured me that they did. When I arrived at the office and spoke with my hygienist, I asked again just to make sure and again was assured that they take Delta Dental and that since I was a return patient from over 10 years prior, I should have x-rays done. They stated that x-rays are covered by my plan 100% so there should be no issue with that. When I was leaving, I was told my a billing person that my plan should cover close to 100% but that there may be a small fee around $50 that I might not get back. I just got my summary and refund which was only $86 out of the $456 that I paid. I called my insurance and they stated that this office was not in network and has not been for years. I called the office and they stated that they are not in network but that my insurance did pay 100% of my plan allowance. I guess they use the term 100% to confuse patients into getting treatments done, which is super deceitful. All this to say, going to a office that charges the patient in full and relies on the insurance to reimburse the patient is never a good sign. I sadly wont be back and encourage others to go elsewhere. 5/1/25 Update: I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and this was the company's response: "Thank you for the opportunity to respond. Our practice has not participated as an “in-network” provider with any insurance company for the past 22 years. Any use of insurance is strictly an agreement between the patient and their insurance provider. As an out-of-network provider, we do not have control over what the insurance company will reimburse. We make every effort to assist our patients by providing an estimate based on the information we are given by the patient or directly from the insurance company. However, these are only estimates, and the final determination of coverage and payment is made solely by the insurance company." Of note, they have not responded via this review either after over a month. This only reassures me that they know what they are doing is bad business and will keep doing it on other patients. Go elsewhere, please.

Positive experience: The experience with the billing support representative was very friendly, communication professional and is able to work financially within patients means. However, treatments are truly expensive.

Negative experience: Went here a couple of years ago for a cleaning. Was told they work with my insurance over the phone. And then told actually, they don’t and I would need to pay out of pocket when I was already in the chair. Paid of out pocket for 2 cleanings as they advised 1 was not sufficient. Sure. I hadn’t been to the dentist in awhile and the cleanings were great. The hygienist was great. But the dentist came in, quickly looked at my teeth and X-rays. Huffed and seemed disgusted. Stated I had a lot of cavities. How many? She did tell me. They wanted me to schedule and pay out of pocket for a 3rd appointment to discuss these mysterious cavities. I did not. Today I saw a new dentist. 0 cavities. I’d recommend a second opinion as this seems like a common scam for them.

Fantastic experience: When I made my first review a few years ago, I sang praises for Dr. Ridge and now I need to call special attention to Dr. Jeon. Words don’t do her justice in terms of how amazing she is as a dentist. Dr. Ridge was my original dentist and I was super skeptical when I was assigned to Dr. Jeon because I hate getting a different dentist (Dr. Ridge’s schedule changed) but I’m so glad I got to work with her. My teeth are jerks and are not easy to work with but I am genuinely pleased with the care and attention Dr. Jeon gave when I had to get fitted for a crown. Through absolutely no fault of Dr. Jeon, there was no amount of anesthesia that could completely numb all the nerves in my mouth and I think she was more traumatized than I was during the process. Even when the procedure doesn’t go according to plan, you still feel like your wellness and comfort matter. In fact, she took a little extra time out of her schedule to follow up with me about my recovery which was a very nice touch. I’ve had dentists at other practices who completely screwed up and didn’t even bother to check in about my pain level. Additionally, the dentists at Philly Dentistry don’t do any experimental treatments and will ONLY treat a problematic tooth if they’re 100% confident they know what is causing the issue. I’ve had other dentists that pushed unneeded procedures and I’m now paying for it years later. I had some sensitivity for a while and these dentists wouldn’t do anything until they located the specific tooth. In a world where there are many healthcare providers trying to take advantage of their patients who don’t know any better, this office is a breath of fresh air! Dr. Ridge and Dr. Jeon will be my dentists until they are no longer in the field. I trust them 1000000%.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient for several years, and I am an experienced professional in healthcare (retired). This office is the best on all dimensions: skill, caring, communication, kindness, friendly, highly professional and thorough. They are the best of the best. They do not upsell, but clearly can provide cutting-edge treatment options. They have my complete trust, and I am a healthcare skeptic.

Negative experience: I used this practice for a few years and gave it multiple opportunities. Sadly, I repeatedly disappointing experiences, including the following: - they are expensive and overpriced compared to others; - you have to pay for service before they process with insurance and then wait for reimbursement; - once they indicated insurance would cover an expensive, optional service, so I paid and then learned I would not be reimbursed (I.e. they gave me the wrong information about insurance coverage). I alerted them and I was offered an apology but no remedy. - when I needed a cavity filled, the hygienist did it without a dentist supervising; - two of the dentists gave me conflicting information about whether I had a cavity; - they charge a surcharge when you use a fsa/hsa card (or any debit/credit card); - they cancelled cleaning appointments day of.

Negative experience: Prior to visit, I requested the Front Desk team confirm the visit would be fully covered by my insurance. During the visit, the office encouraged incremental X-rays. Before proceeding, I asked multiple times to confirm my insurance covered the incremental X-rays and was told "100%". Subsequently was informed by my insurance that only 27% of the total would be covered.

Negative experience: March 10 9:37 am this lady was so rude I called with questions about the clinic and she kept saying “ what’s your name “ . Tried to tell her I have questions before anything . Then she puts the phone on hold while I was asking her if they take toddlers . Then this man answers . Bad impression I will not be bringing my son here. That was a a red flag. The woman was rude and didn’t communicate

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience today at Philadelphia Dentistry.As someone who has always had dental anxiety plus having been diagnosed a few years ago with an autoimmune disorder that unfortunately attacks my oral health it was really encouraging to meet such a patient and understanding dentist who was willing to listen.Dr Ridge was really kind,thorough and took the time to explain everything to me. He made me feel comfortable at the dentist which isn’t easy to do. Everyone at Philadelphia Dentistry were super kind (front desk,assistant and dentist) and I will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience: Every aspect of my experience with Philadelphia Dentistry has been exceptional. Everyone was very friendly and made me feel immediately comfortable. Within an hour I was checked in as a new patient, x-rayed and ready to be on my way after a somewhat complex operation. Everything went smoothly, painlessly and better than I could of hoped. Dr Ridge called me the next day just to make sure I was recovering well and I had taken required steps needed post operation. Blown away!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a long time customer at Philly Dentistry! I feel like we grew up together! Dr Cirka, Dr. Ridge and Jen are all awesome. Front office staff is great as well. The hygenist and dentists are gentle, thorough and really take the time to get to know you and educate you about dental health and procedures. Couldn’t ask for a better client experience!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. They will absolutely not help you. My husband is experiencing a dental emergency & is in a ton of pain, but does not have updated x-rays or a treatment plan anywhere. He knows he will likely need oral surgery, but of course an actual dentist needs to make that call & referral for him. We both work, & my husband has dental insurance through work. We chose this place to schedule a consult with, because on their website they advertise FREE XRAYS FOR FIRST TIME PATIENTS. This is a blatant lie, and false advertising. When he arrived, they told him that he couldn't have free xrays because (of course) he would need "special" xrays that cost $275. Dental insurance doesn't matter. They will only help you if you pay them UP FRONT, in cash. Then, if you have insurance, they will submit a claim to your insurance, & if they decide to pay, you will eventually be reimbursed. Either way, none of this is "free". I'd like to point out here that xrays are just xrays. There is no such thing as special xrays you need to pay up front for at ANY other dental clinic I have ever seen, and certainly not at any that advertise free xrays & consults. Stay far away and DO NOT give these people your money. You will not get it back & they clearly do not care about their patients health or well being.

Fantastic experience: Patients can’t go wrong by choosing to come to this dental office with Doctor Evan Ridge and his lovely hygienist Jennifer! The care and support this dental team has shown me and my husband far exceeds the dental care provided! Yet, their dental services are top notch. I came initially after not going for a while after a big move to Philadelphia. My first appointment was during Covid. I needed more than typical cleaning due to my own neglect but I felt so comfortable with the customized financial plan to tackle my dental health in stages. As my husband dealt with his cancer treatment, the diligence and thoroughness that Doctor Evan Ridge, Jennifer, Bella, Felix, Stephen, Jenaya and the entire staff has taken to provide the upmost kindness and appropriate medical care is exceptional. They worked with UPenn Oncologist to ensure that my husband received the best care and I am beyond grateful (kudos to Bella and Felix in this effort). I’ve always enjoyed this staff and the medical care we receive, but this was absolutely the cherry on top!

Fantastic experience: I’m a barber and they don’t made good dental plans for us so when I stumbled upon Philly dentistry I was estatic. I was well over due for a visit and was worried about being shamed, everyone was friendly, helpful and they put me on a very affordable payment plan! Bonus points for Queer friendly ✨

Negative experience: Mackenzie told me that, because of my gum disease, my breath would smell horrible forever and there was little to nothing I could do about it. This, it turns out, was not the case. Her behavior in this instance alone was borderline medical malpractice. She also more than once implied that I had diagnosed myself via the internet, but the diagnoses I had gotten had come out of her mouth on several previous appointments.

Fantastic experience: Going in for a dental visit is like seeing old friends you haven’t seen in a while. The staff is so genuine and caring. I come across the bridge to Philadelphia Dentistry because I know I am getting the best dental care. I have been a patient there for 18 years.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Philadelphia Dentist (from admin to docs) are top notch! I cannot recommend this place enough. I have a real fear of going to the dentist, but needed to make an appointment related to pregnancy. The staff were so understanding, caring. Walked me through everything, moved appointments around to best fit my anxious needs, we took breaks and avoided needles. I had a lot of panic walking into the initial appointment and truly left feeling calm. If you have any sort of dental anxiety at all. Give them a try!

Fantastic experience: I landed at philadelphia dentistry by happenstance and I am incredibly grateful that I did. They have helped me immensely with my dental health and my dental anxiety. Everyone on staff is accommodating, friendly, and kind. I recommend them to anyone who is in need of a reliable and experienced dental office.

Negative experience: NOT forthright about their insurance - they are considered "out of network" for most insurances. When I went in, they assured me that my visit was completely "covered". I confirmed multiple times - at the reception, during the procedure and again when I was leaving. My insurance barely covered a fifth of a simple cleaning. Later when I complained about having to pay, the office manager offered absolutely no help. They were completely aware that if I had known they were out of network, I would just gone somewhere else and saved my money. While the physicians and hygienists were great, lying about payment is straight up DECEPTIVE and fraudulent.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are top-notch. They care about the REAL you and the provide excellent service. I've been a patient for 16+ years and my work has included general cleanings and some cosmetic work and I couldn't be more thrilled. They are also very respectful of my time and efficient. An 8:50am appointment means 8:50am - and for that I am very grateful.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jian and her assistant, Valerie, took special care and time with my dental questions. They both gave me a detailed explanation to my inquiry, reassured me that the situation was normal, and made acknowledgment that they would followup with my care concerning this on future dental checkup visits. Dr. Jian is a very patient and kind dentist. Fantastic experience: Everyone here was friendly and explained everything to me in an easy to understand manner. As someone who has a lot of anxiety about seeing a dentist, I truly recommend this place for their understanding and no judgement mindset. Negative experience: My experience with the dental hygienist and dentist here was great but the office is very misleading when it comes to insurance. For anyone using dental insurance, this place is considered OUT OF NETWORK for all insurances, which means you will be paying far more out of pocket than necessary. I had an appointment scheduled for more services but ultimately canceled because of this. When you ask them why the insurance isn’t covering the service, they tell you that’s what the plan shows on the website and act as if they don’t know why. If they had been up front and honest and told me they are considered out of network, I would not have gone here.

Fantastic experience: I just went for my first filling ever - Jenaya and Dr. Ridge were so nice and very efficient. They kept me informed and checked in with me throughout the process. I’m happy to have found a dental office where all of the staff are so warm and accommodating. The office itself is clean, organized, and easiest to get to using public transit.

Fantastic experience: I got assaulted on the subway and had to get emergency treatment for my teeth. This office was incredibly helpful, nice, and good at their work. They were passionate about helping me and also finding the best payment methods for me to move forward with treatment and not have to feel like I had no options as someone without insurance. If you're having issues with your teeth this is where I would recommend

Negative experience: Jenaya and Dr. Ridge are absolutely wonderful. Nothing was rushed and I can’t think Jenaya enough for helping me find the perfect smile through my temporary veneers. Dr. Ridge was so patient and easy to work with, while keeping the health of my teeth at the forefront of the veneer process. Both of these folks have impeccable bedside manner, and I felt comfortable throughout the process. That being said: they WILL price gouge you. My veneers came out terrible at first and it cost over 5k to fix. They did not comp any of the labor so be prepared to spend 25k or more if things do not go as you hoped! (They had me sign a consent form under the influence of an anxiety medication they told me to take beforehand. This meant I gave consent to the bad veneers first; causing me to redo everything after I slept the anxiety medication off.) The bad veneers looked very similar donkey teeth. After leaving this review I was called to ask why I changed my review with no real offer to make the gouging equitable. I was told “sorry you feel that way.” I have a bad taste in my mouth after this level of lip service. I have now changed my review to one star.

Negative experience: I had a nightmare experience. Think twice before you get your veneers here. Spend more money elsewhere. I spent two years at this office trying to get my veneers as promised. Dr. Ridge was friendly. However, he caused me harm and kept me in an endless loop of appointments. From the beginning, I had bite issues with my temporaries. They kept cracking. Dr. Ridge's solution? File down/remove healthy tooth structure from my bottom teeth to make them fit without me being aware. I also found out later that my teeth were actually prepped like crowns vs. veneers. My original veneers turned dark over time, had staining, and overall demonstrated poor quality. When Dr. Ridge replaced the veneers, he cemented them wrong. He pushed the front veneer as far as he could, causing it to stick out as there was no room for it. Yes, of course, refunds were requested. However, though advertised as a private practice with Dr. Cirka still working in the office, we were not even allowed to talk to him over the phone and were told that he has not been in practice for a very long time. They were never able to replicate the temporaries causing me to be in a perpetuating nightmare. We could not speak with anyone in the lab and although we offered to pay, we were denied to work with another lab. I was told that this issue was not the first with this lab. As you can see, there are other reviews with similar experiences receiving terrible veneers. I had to seek dental work elsewhere and spend tens of thousands of dollars. They did NOT care about my wellbeing and just wanted to keep the money. I am traumatized from this experience. Despite all of the struggle, I ended up losing all of the money and time that was spent here in order to fulfill my dream of having a beautiful smile. I had well over 50 appointments trying to correct functional and aesthetic issues with no progress. My veneers had discoloration, staining, at one point were placed improperly, and the shaving down of my bottom teeth (that still did not correct my bite issue). I sincerely hope that my review reaches at least one person and helps them decide whether or not they want to go here.

Fantastic experience: Always positive. I have met with the dental hygienist a few times. They recommended a few procedures which I held off on till I got comfortable. Had them done recently and I was very pleased with the outcome. I think I am finally getting over my fear of novocaine.

Fantastic experience: My experience with Philadelphia dentistry was great. The doctor was very detailed in what needed to be done and very gentle while she was working on me. My appointment didn’t feel rushed and I felt as though the dr actually cared. The staff is very professional and polite. Special shout out to Skylar who I called on numerous occasions about my appointment and some concerns I had. She was very informative, polite and her attitude was pleasant. She needs a raise. But I would highly recommend Philadelphia dentistry to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Philadelphia Dentistry has the best customer service! They always care about their patients! Sofia was excellent during my cleaning and Jenaya was quick and efficient with my fillings. And Dr. Ridge is always amazing friendly and kind. He’s also a very good dentist. They always make you feel like family!

Fantastic experience: This is an incredible practice ! Everyone is extremely nice, helpful and friendly - from the front desk staff to the hygienist to the doctors. They are flexible with appointment scheduling, easy to contact, and send helpful reminders. They don’t push additional services and they do an amazing job of education - telling me what they’re doing, what they’re seeing, what it means and give me great tips for taking care of my teeth ! Highly recommend !!

Fantastic experience: The staff here is so incredibly kind and have a great way of clearly letting you know what they are doing every step of the way. The billing department is also great! I would recommend this place to anyone anxious about going to the dentist after a while.

Negative experience: My experience was similar to a bunch of the other people who gave this place low marks. I am not sure if this is just the result of one inexperienced dentist with little oversight. However I have to report I went for a cleaning and exam, the dentist told me I needed a deep cleaning, have 8 cavities filled and maybe a route canal. Needless to say I was very concerned and after I was shuffled into an office to talk to their office manager I was told the work would have cost me $7k in total. The office manager also asked that I put down a $500 deposit to make an appointment to get the work done, a practice I've never heard of before and made me pretty suspicious. To their credit when I canceled the appointment the next day that $500 was credited back to my card. Thankfully I later went to see another, more experienced dentist in DC recommended by family who said none of these cavities were there. It's possible the 2nd dentist is wrong and I intend to get a third opinion, but based on the reviews here I wouldn't bet on it. This was a really terrible experience, really glad I didn't take their word for it.

Fantastic experience: My most recent experience with Philadelphia Dentistry was amazing! Their staff were super helpful and polite. From check in to my check out and my cleaning which was done by Mackenzie the staff were extremely knowledgeable and helped me every step of the way. Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience at Philadelphia Dentistry. My dentist, Alyssa, was very professional, kind, and provided excellent customer service. She offered helpful tips for maintaining clean teeth and educated me on my dental health. I felt a sense of relief knowing she genuinely cared about my dental maintenance, which made me feel valued as a client. The other staff were great as well. I loved my experience here.

Fantastic experience: I never leave reviews but the people here deserve all the credit. Dr. Mimi Jeon is the best and McKenzie is so sweet. Both are supremely good at their job. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They make you feel like family.

Fantastic experience: I came here (nervously) for the first time in need of some dental work, and I was so relieved to have had such a pleasant experience! The office is clean, conveniently located, and easy to access. The staff were all very welcoming and respectful, and while the waiting room was a tad small, I didn't have to wait long before being seen. The hygienists were all super friendly, and I especially appreciate how transparent and considerate they are in saying what they'd be doing before doing it to ease any anxiety/discomfort. The dentist himself was warm and knowledgeable and provided the answers I needed, and I also appreciated that all the staff were friendly and encouraging to each other. Definitely one of the best dentist experiences I've had!

Fantastic experience: It was my first time here and I had a great experience. Sophia was my dental hygienist and she did a great job. It was gentle and not painful as my prior experiences at other places. The dentist took time with the examination, was knowledgeable and kind. The frontdesk staff were equally kind and welcoming. Would definitely recommend, especially over some of the other solo practices in the city where the experience was bad. I am impressed by this practice and will gladly send more referrals here.

Negative experience: Similar to a few other reviews here, my experience back in 2018 was that I was told I had 11 cavities and it would cost around $4k to fill them all even after insurance, and was pressured to go onto a payment plan to pay for it. I got a second opinion from my childhood dentist who said I was fine and needed no work done. Would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Jenaya is great, really attentive, and is very skilled at her job. She’s good at putting the patient (me!) at ease, explaining what’s going to happen. We’ve even connected on a personal level.

Fantastic experience: I have Dr. Ridge as my dentist and Jen as my dental hygienist. Honestly the most thorough dental exam I've ever gotten. Besides the usual (cleaning/polishing/flossing), they do x-rays and a gum recession check with every appointment. I am also doing Invisalign with them- Jenaya is my dental assistant for that. Once again, she's very thorough and organized. Even the office staff are great- super responsive over phone, email, and text. I dealt with a set of complex insurance issues, and one of their staff members, Victoria, was extremely helpful through that process.

Fantastic experience: This is the most AMAZING dental office, from the smiles when you walk in, a clean environment, and a staff who truly cares about you as a person. Such a relaxing environment, and they care about you having a great experience and they are fully knowledgeable about dental care. Alyssa, my dental hygientist, is by far the BEST hygientist you could ever have, and I always feel I am in good hands. There is no other dental office I would trust with my dental care.

Positive experience: I've only been for an initial visit. Everyone in the office appears friendly, empathetic and knowledgeable. Dr. Ridge, again friendly and kind, seems to know his stuff, but may need some pointers on dealing with patients. Purely technical jargon isn't actually comforting to a patient in a dental office. I don't know about you but when I'm talking to a dentist, I want to know what to expect after everything is done, not what is going to be done. :-o
