Negative experience: Cleaning didn’t feel like a cleaning. Never flossed my teeth. Felt more like them setting up future work for the new year. Hygienist asked me if I drank soda then shamed me for it.

Negative experience: I was very unhappy with my visit from the lack of concern when I walked in because clearly she had more important things to do besides assisting me. And I went in with a terrible toothache and left out with my whole mouth in an unbearable pain. Now I can say the gentleman at the front desk that checked me out was very compassionate however, by this time I was in so much pain I just wanted to go home to see if I could find a dentist who was open and would actually help me.

Fantastic experience: The entire facility is full of friendly knowledgeable staff, the Dr. has limited hours, however in those hours she maximizes patient services. She finished filling 2 cavities on my son, looked at her watch, noticed she had 10 minutes until her next patient and asked my son if he would like a 3rd filled, in which she did. She's caring, most people in authority or position could have just dismissed him and taken a quick break in between patients, nor her, she forged on. Great job TEAM and we thank you!

Negative experience: My son needed to return to JFD after his root canal at the Elite Dental Specialists (EDS) for an X-ray and insurance approval. After the X-ray was completed, I walked up to the front desk to inquire about next steps. Initially, when I called a few weeks back, a man told me over the phone that the insurance approval could take up to three weeks. Fast forward to today, the same man at the desk began to schedule me without asking our availability. He then proceeded to say he needed an hour to perform the crown. I tried to express that I work and would need to check availability and he then said “you need to work harder at making this work, the doctor is only in on Mondays and Wednesdays.” I responded that he was extremely rude, and his customer service was lacking since customers don’t know the doctors schedule and should be asked their availability. At the very least the front desk should start with informing guests that the only days would be Mondays and Wednesdays and leave it to us to call and schedule. The rest of the staff looked on but never intervened and no one came to assist either one of us. I will never use this location for dental services again and will always tell family to look somewhere else for their dental health moving forward. If I could give zero stars I would.

Fantastic experience: Everything was great, office was clean, service was very attentive n prompt. I would share with people to go to this dentist office for sure. Everything n everyone was nice, I loved it!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Shaban is very kind, compassionate and patient. I have a medical condition that can cause me to pass out. I had to get 2 fillings done back in 2021? I don't have the exact year but what I can tell you is that I didn't pass out. That was due to the Dr listening to me and having clear communication. Ever since that experience I started preventive maintenance by brushing and flossing more. Now I only visit Dr. Shaban once every 6 months for my x-rays and cleanings. I will continue to come back.

Fantastic experience: Dec 2023- 1st visit --Started new job in July, decided would start new year with new dentist, but had an unexpected problem. This office was able to see me within an hour or so of calling them. Great atmosphere, and quick service. Feb 2024-2nd visit- Went back for cleaning . Anther great visit! Thank you! Negative experience: I've been coming here for years because just about nobody else takes my insurance. The front staff are kind and caring. The dentists are clueless though. Every time I come in with a problem, they make it twice as bad. Most of them are inept. Once I went in with pain on one side of my mouth. She started working on the other side of my mouth saying that's where the problem was and not the other side. I asked her why I had pain in the other side of there was no problem, and she said, "Sometimes pain.... can jump". Seriously?! I've been told I needed my wisdom teeth pulled and all these other procedures. The next time I go in, they say I don't need any of that done. I will never return and I don't suggest this place to any human. Or anything with teeth, really. Now I need to drive who-knows- where to find someone to fix what they've done to me and am in excruciating pain.

Fantastic experience: This Dental Office, saved my life, I’m a Truck Driver from Atlanta Georgia, and was near Chicago, experiencing a very bad tooth ache, I called about ten or twelve dentists in the Area it was almost 4:00 PM. All offices were closed and this was the only one open on a Saturday and it was Friday Evening. Me a grown Man wayyy from home with tears in my eyes called this office, and lo and behold, they not only answered my call but IMMEDIATELY let me make an appointment. They stayed open past 8:00 PM & extracted my tooth. And was very reasonable with pricing and Offered very prompt and professional service! I was the happiest person a Joliet IL that evening 9/12/25. In Atlanta would this have not only been almost impossible for this late in the evening, but also would have been very pricey. This Dentist Office was God Sent ‼️❤️❤️

They make you feel so comfortable. I enjoy every visit. I highly recommend the Joliet dental office to everyone. Give them a try, you will definitely not be disappointed. The doctor's the assistants. Fantastic experience: The dentist I saw this past Friday was so compassionate and caring to me! I have been having personal problems and she just sat and listened as I basically ended up hijacking her and had her turn into a counselor which I feel bad for taking up a lot of her time and they were busy as always! I have been dealing with a lot of grief and trauma and she was my shining light! Then she went onto treating me and did my cleaning while waiting for me to numb up. Also I never even felt my injection one bit! I have been going here for several years and have seen ever dentist there! I have always been pleased and impressed with all of the assistants and staff! Never had any complaints! Always have been able to get in if needed when I have had a concern with a tooth or anything dental related. Also for those that don’t know if you don’t have dental insurance and are self paying they do not charge an arm and a leg. It is very affordable! Their price list is right there hanging up behind the desk as you walk in. But I am still in awe with the compassion my dentist had for me and being able to still take care of my tooth right then and there! Over the past 6mi the it sure takes a lot to put a smile on my face! She did just that, gave me the great news that my tooth would be fine, took care of it, comforted me which that speaks volumes and I truly walked out with a true smile and a brighter and healthy smile! Compassion and care at its finest and a true blessing for me last Friday! Over and beyond! Sorry for the long book I just would like everyone to know that if you are looking for a new place to go for dental care, your family and children, friends pass the word and give Joliet Family Dental a try at least once! Not all can be pleased but I have know doubts that most would be! Thanks again JFD and to my earth angel Dentist I saw Friday! You have earned your wings for sure and for being able to comfort me in the way you did! I will never forget!❤️ P.S. As soon as I call them this week to get her name again I will try to add her to my post. She deserves recognition! But as I mentioned previously all of the dentists and assistants have been great! This time was just extra amazingly special during one of the saddest times in my life!❤️

This was this first time in my 40 years of life I wasn’t at the dentists office for 3 years! Positive experience: Whoever cleaned my teeth was rough. It was a male staff I just did not get the name. He did not watch out for hitting the side of my gums and lip when using the tools. He did not communicate the steps either. It was a busy time and you could tell that he was in a rush. The doctor on the other hand, was amazing. I did not get her name but she was female. She communicated each step, introduced herself, and used the tools appropriately.

Fantastic experience: Our first experience was for my mother’s new patient appointment and we were left with smiles and resolutions all around. The receptionist was superb. She was knowledgeable and managed to obtain our dental insurance in the system which saved us over 2K worth of work needed. The dentist who facilitated the appointment was the kindest of all. My mother felt so welcomed and taken care of. She looks forward to coming back for treatment!!

Fantastic experience: Have been dealing with pain for 16 years and it was the first time I was properly explained what the problems were and steps to take and have already experienced such relief and have had no pain and was finally able to eat normal. They were very patient with my daughter and were not pushy.

Fantastic experience: I had met with Dr. Mirza today to have several teeth pulled. Because of the condition of my teeth I didn't think it was going to be possible without surgery. I was amazed that all teeth were successfully pulled with minimal pain. Dr. Mirza and his assistant were very professional and more than attentive as to make sure my pain was kept to a minimal. I was in and out of the chair in less than a hour. If today went this smooth I can not wait for my 8 week visit and get fitted for my dentures. Dr Mirza and assistant were simply amazing today. Negative experience: **Disappointing Experience After a Promising Start** Our appointment began smoothly, but things took a frustrating turn after the X-rays. My brother, who has autism, was left sitting in the dental chair unattended for **39 minutes**. The technician said nothing about when the doctor would be in or if anyone would be coming to do the cleaning. During that time, the upstairs area had completely cleared out—only three patients remained, and it appeared there was just one staff member still around. Not once did anyone check in on us or offer an update. After waiting for 39 minutes with zero communication or support, we decided to leave. Disappointingly, no one even seemed to notice we were gone. This lack of attention and basic courtesy was deeply disheartening—especially considering the needs of a patient with autism. A little communication and care would have gone a long way.

Negative experience: Horrible experience appointment lasted 15 min tech came in used some polish on some of my teeth not the whole mouth then doctor came in and litteraly didn’t even clean all of m teeth I would never recommend them ever horrible

Negative experience: I found the experience of getting my teeth cleaned unsatisfying. They failed to check the depth of my gums - you know where they measuring calling out 1-5? Also, it was quite painful. I don’t mean there was a sensitive spot here or there but a sustained pain as they aggressively cleaned my teeth. They don’t even get all the tartar removed.

I set appointments for both of my children and at the time I was scheduling they took my insurance and member id's for both of them and confirmed they took my insurance. I got to my appointment on time and when I arrived the receptionist who was very rude told me that they "tried" to call me because they do not take my insurance. I received NO call from anyone and both my insurance website and Joliet Family Dental's website states they DO take my insurance. Will never return customer service is below average.

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Dr. Awadallah Is an angel. She truly is such a gentle and kind Dentist. I let her know I have anxiety and she eased me through the entire appointment. The dental assistant Rocio was also so so so friendly and made the appointment go by in a breeze. She showed me pictures of her dog and we laughed at shared stories of our pets. She was very professional and gentle with my cleaning. The whole staff was incredible. Very short wait time and the office is beautiful. Highly recommended this Doctor.

Negative experience: I first went in for xrays advising an old filling was bothering me and they said they found no issue but scheduled me to come back for a cleaning. My 11:30 appointment turned into me being brought to the room on time but leaving at 12:10 after they never sent anyone in to start. The staff was friendly but clearly they need more help.
