Fantastic experience: I selected Gentle Dental Care as our new dental office after having moved from Texas. Gentle Dental has a very welcoming, professional and a friendly staff. They are a large practice with four dentists, four hygienists, and an oral surgeon/orthodontist on staff. They treated my aged mother-in-law age 94 with respect and friendliness. They explained what they were going to do before doing it. Then after all xrays and observations they gave us a detailed follow up on treatment to be done. I just had a cleaning on 11/5 and a filling on 11/6/25. I felt their prices were very fair, $149 and $243 respectively. Dental Tech Filza did great work preparing me prior to the start of my dental work she was very friendly and welcoming. Dr. Khare was very friendly, welcoming and thorough in completing all the work needed on my teeth. Dr Khare explained what she was doing before doing it, then through out the procedure she made sure I was comfortable and when she finished she explained after care and things to look out for as a precaution. I am astounded that my tooth looks absolutely like a perfect real tooth after the filling. Even the color is perfectly natural. My mother-in-law had a denture upgrade and a cleaning. My wife had a crown and a cleaning. We are all pleased. I highly recommend this dental practice.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Dental Gentle. When I went in for a routine check-up, I came out with more problems than I had going in. They seemed more focused on maximizing their profits rather than providing necessary care. I was unnecessarily given multiple extra shots of lidocaine, which led to a panic attack during my appointment. The staff even tried to attribute my anxiety to my military career, but it was clearly due to the excessive anesthesia they administered. Additionally, they recommended four crowns that I later found out I didn’t need. After their treatment, I experienced severe sensitivity on the left side of my mouth, making it difficult to eat. I sought a second opinion and learned that this could have been avoided. Now, I may need a root canal, which feels like a direct consequence of their over-treatment. I felt like they were more interested in billing for unnecessary procedures rather than genuinely addressing my dental health. I will be going to a different dentist to hopefully resolve these issues, but I wanted to share my experience to caution others.

Negative experience: I honestly would never return to this place again. I’m not sure if it’s because I have Medicaid or what. I only went to receive services from the endodontist Which was supposed to be noted in my chart the day before my appointment they called me telling me I need to come in an hour early because the doctor was going to need to do everything and After she argued with me multiple times She finally let me explain And realized I didn’t need to come in an hour early however I still Came in about 15 minutes early just because I’m a new patient. My appointment was at 12:30. I was not seen until almost 1 o’clock. Everything went well for the first appointment. When I returned to receive my root canal, I needed to have a scan done. I found myself almost running to chase the dental assistant to be escorted to the room so much so my boyfriend even looks confused on why he looked as if he was running to take me to a room. The scan didn’t complete, so I was moved back into redo the scan he was again almost running. The root canal went OK but the endodontist was a little bit rough. After my root canal, I was escorted to the lobby to be scheduled for my next appointment I explained I just wanted to return to my dentist. The front desk seemed to have an attitude about this. But either way I asked if I needed anything else and I left. The next day I was in excruciating pain. I called the office to Inform them that I was in pain and ibuprofen was not working and I was not given any after care Instructions. Whoever I spoke to from the front desk said they will contact the doctor. Give me a call back. After about an hour, I received a call back from the front desk stating that the doctor said I could just take Amoxicillin 500. So I then asked her well, is someone going to prescribe it. She responded with “oh you didn’t get it yesterday “ . This is alarming to me because if I never called, I would’ve never received Antibiotics also, I was confused on why she was in my chart, but could not see I was not prescribed Anything at all. She then told me she would call me back after she got the doctor prescribe it. I was asked if I would like to come all the way to Lorton ( I live in Woodbridge) To pick up the medication or if I would like an emailed to me. AGAIN This was confusing so I asked her why it couldn’t be sent the pharmacy opposed to me having it emailed because I was in pain. She responded with “ We don’t call it in because we don’t have time it takes Too long in the pharmacy puts us on hold so we just give it to the patient”. Being frustrated with her I just said that’s not but whatever I was fed up at this point. 2 1/2 hours ago passed I received no call back or email. So I called again when I called I spoke With someone different, she said she didn’t see in my chart where they were requesting antibiotics. At this point, I was so upset I was almost at a yell. However, whoever I spoke to was very nice she made everything was handled and called in the prescription for me she called and kept me updated the entire time. She said she was new there. When I asked her to speak to the office manager, she said The office manager had left for the day and the only person that was there was the front desk. When I inquired about when the office manager would return she said she didn’t know her schedule. I wasn’t gonna leave a review but here we are a week later and I received a call from them this morning stating that my insurance approved my next visit. I had previously told the front desk on the first day I did not And they should not run my insurance Dentist office. However, my dentist office had to reach out to them to receive the documents they needed. Whoever I spoke with today, said there was no note that I had declined the next appointment. Overall, I just was disappointed in The front desk and the lack of empathy and documentation. I would never return here again

I was surprised that the periodontist doesn’t access you in person but instead they send photos and X-rays to the periodontist to review and then they make a decision. I wasn’t a big fan of this. However, my cleaning and talk with Fatima was top notch!

I met Dr Garima Kala and Fatima. Both wonderful personalities. Dr Kala did my overall dental exam and Fatima did my deep cleaning- both are AMAZING, they are so gentle, caring, and explains things so well. They made me so comfortable, that I’m not scared of going to dentist anymore. After a long time we have found a caring and trustable dentist. I would highly recommend Gentle Dental care. Negative experience: They messed up my fillings. I have severe pain now and can’t chew majority of foods. It hurts to brush my teeth. They said they were just gonna do a bit at a time and then when I went in they did my whole mouth. I had to go to work after and couldn’t speak easily
