Fantastic experience: I just had a cleaning recently, and Alana was a great hygienist. And fast. The staff are very nice and appointments are easy. The 2 dentists I've met in the past seem knowledgeable. Id recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I feel like they are horrible about communicating and only care about money. They cancel appointments without notification even though they send a text confirming the appointment. Go elsewhere

Her assistant was very professional and had a wonderful disposition , making sure I was ok . Front desk staff are very welcoming . Greeted up arriving and leaving . They all had great smiles on their faces , upon leaving my appointment and it was only 1130am! Very Clean . I would highly suggest Nokomis Dental . Mila, the hygienist I’ve had is amazing . She is so thorough. Explains everything even numbs my gums before hand . I have to say , the best cleaning I’ve ever had in my whole dental years , and I’m Old !! I hope she is off to dental School soon . But she will be hard to replace ! Marisa , my name sake is always a pleasure ! Love this place !

Negative experience: I had a Dental Hygienist who was probably in training, She was terrible at every step, splashed my face with water the whole time, water was running out of my mouth on my neck… hurt me pocking my gum… didn’t do good flossing … i guess it was ok for them not to charge me as supposed to be. No amount of money will make up for my experience this time.

Negative experience: Started here in 2018, the 2 Dr's were great and office manager and staff were excellent. In late 2019 1 Dr left the practice and about the same time so did the office manager. Several hygienist and office staff left within a year. The young Dr that remained is good, but sends everything out to other specialists. No matter what you go here for the appointment ends up taking at least 1 hour. My wife and I have left the practice. She signed a records release the last day there, now they are telling our new dentist she never did, we have the paperwork. Like so many businesses and workers, this practice is close to incompetent now. I would avoid going here. They blame everything on the patient and aren't willing to accept responsibility for their mistakes or inaction. Very sad.

Fantastic experience: It was my first visit, I had an emergency! They got me right in and all fixed up. I left there all better and felt a calmer piece of mind with my tooth issue. I would tell anyone to visit and become a permanent patient there if you want to be treated like a person and not just a number or a check. The whole staff and Drs. care about the well being of there patients. Thank you for being true people. My family will grow old with Nokomis Dental Care.

Fantastic experience: During a cleaning Dr. Griffith noticed my gum above my crowned front tooth was irritated. Fortunately, through examination, she was able to detect a cavity but it meant I would need a new crown. A front tooth has a dramatic effect on our smile so I was very nervous to have it replaced. Would it look better than the one I’d had for years and was adequately satisfied with ,or would it look worse? I didn’t know what to expect but replacing it was my only option so I put my trust in Dr. Griffith and her staff. I’ve never written a review before but am taking time to do it because ,while I was very apprehensive going through the procedure, ,the process and final result turned out very positive. There were a few adjustments that needed to be made from the temporary to the final crown but Dr. Griffith, the lab, and each member of the staff that was involved, worked with me in selecting the right color, shape, fit, etc. Now that I have my new crown on my front tooth I want to share that it looks better than the one I’d had for years and my new smile looks great.

Fantastic experience: I came from out of town and broke a crown. I called and got in to Nokomis Dental Care the next day. The staff was friendly, professional and a pleasure to have help me. The tooth was fixed quickly and I will be continuing my regular dental care there.

Fantastic experience: Best Dental Experience I’ve ever had! From the moment I walked into the office it was all exceptional. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The office is beautiful. They listened to my goals for my teeth, communicated every step of the process. My teeth cleaning was painless and for the first time ever I wasn’t super sensitive the next day & my teeth are so clean. The technology they have and use to show you 3D imaging of your teeth is superior, I can’t say enough good things. I’m so happy this is my new forever dentist! Highly recommend them!

Negative experience: I hate posting this especially because I truly think the dentists themselves are good but the front office staff makes it so hard to continue to give them business. I have been going to this location for multiple years and continue to have my appointment moved over and over again. I had a called yesterday at 8:59am while I was traveling, I was told in the voicemail I had until noon to confirm my appointment. Being unable to return the call in the 3 hour time frame, they canceled my appointment without notice. When I showed up to the office, plenty of staff was there but I was told my hygienist went home and “to bad”, nothing they could do. I make these appointments months in advance to accommodate a difficult work schedule. Not only did the front office receptionist turn her screen to make a point that I “had opted out of text” and share a household that wasn’t my family’s profile, but I have a text message on 4/7/25 from my last appointment. If you are a working professional or have a family that juggles multiple schedules, this is not going to be the location for your family. If you have plenty of free time and can handle disrespectful front office staff, both female dentists are really wonderful.

That should tell you everything you need to know about Nokomis Dental Care. I love this place and the people that work here. Every assistant that has taken care of me has been the best. Positive experience: Things have changed here in the last few years. Everyone in the office now has botox and fillers, and they also SELL botox and fillers. Not one wrinkle in the entire facility. Makes me feel really old. Regardless, I have been to every other dentist in Venice, and Nokomis Dental is where I'm staying.

For an older woman, I have pretty good teeth, but for one reason or another I have been to 4 different dentists in my life. Nokomis Dental has been the best by far. Try them out- you won’t be disappointed . Even the prices are reasonable . Best of all, I didn’t have to wait 6 months for an appointment ! This is my second 5 star review: Once again, I’m amazed at how friendly & professional the Nokomis Dental staff is! I went yesterday for a cleaning. Amy was great! What a cleaning! She answered all my questions , was gentle & just the right amount of funny. I’ve recommended Nokomis Dental to several people & every one has been happy with their dental care. You owe it to yourself to be happy with your dentist…. So if you’re not, Or have just moved to the area, I can’t recommend Nokomis Dental enough!

Negative experience: DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE! DO NOT GO HERE! 0 star review! Both of my brothers went here unfortunately and told me the horrors of this place. My little brother had 3 seperate cavities filled here and continued to have problems/sensitivity in the teeth that were “fixed” for months following the fillings. He went back multiple times only to be told “they were fine and he’d have to live with it.” Now a few months later still having the same issues with the same teeth he followed up with two other dentists and needs 3 root canals because the dentist at Nokomis Dental left a lot of decay behind that spread deeper into the roots, so yes there still were issues yet they completely disregarded them and could care less. My older brother also had a similar experience, had a few fillings put in and had the same sensitivity and pain issues and also needed to get his fillings redone elsewhere. Would not trust these people for a second! Look at all of the lowest reviews, similar stories and all the other “good (paid) reviews” unfortunately overshadow them. These people should be put out of business! They just want to make money and don’t care about anyone’s well being. Extremely sad

This office has the ability to calm those issues the minute you walk through the front door. The front desk staff is genuinely friendly & helpful and sets the tone for a wonderful experience. They are all exceptional, but I would like to extend additional thanks to Marissa, Theresa, & Gina. Thank you for everything you did for me. It meant a lot. The dentist that was recommended to me was Dr. Nicole Dunlap (However, I hear that the other dentists are wonderful, too). Dr. Dunlap is phenomenal at what she does! Her knowledge, experience, compassion & cheerfulness made the entire visit a pleasure. She not only proved to be an outstanding dentist, but she also proved to be a great listener. In my case, she successfully corrected mistakes that were made by other dentists. She took my confidence to an all-time high, and I couldn't be happier! Her assistants, Hubert & and Katie, are two of the most compassionate people I have ever met in a dental office. They both have the ability to help the patient remain calm. I have NEVER felt more relaxed in any dental office in my entire life! Thank you all for making me feel like myself again. You are all amazing people.

They formally introduce your hygienist and treatment plan, explaining your insurance coverage and patient costs. Anna my hygienist was awesome, very thorough, gentle and attentive. She explained everything she was about to do and happily allowed me to ask questions. Dr. Griffith was very kind and attentive. She took her time with me and was wonderful to talk with. She even took the time to make an adjustment to my bite while I was there for an initial appointment. I’ve had some not so pleasant experiences with other dental offices but I don’t think this will ever happen at this practice. Highly recommended Dr. Griffith and Nokomis Dental.
