Fantastic experience: I am so happy with my Invisalign treatment that I completed here. I live close by so it was easy to make the follow up visits. I highly recommend getting Invisalign done here!

Negative experience: Avoid Carmel Mountain Dental Office — Not Client Friendly I really don’t recommend this dentist. The office is not client-friendly at all. They only communicate important notices through text messages — no phone call, no email follow-up schedule — which feels very unprofessional for a medical office. It’s disappointing that they care more about small fees than building long-term relationships. Charging $50 and losing a loyal neighborhood client says a lot about their priorities. Definitely not the kind of place that values patients or community.

Negative experience: We are new in town and called this clinic to reseat a crown that had recently fallen off. Unfortunately, our experience raised several serious concerns. The dentist attempted to test the crown by placing it back without any proper disinfection, which was a huge red flag for hygiene standards. The crown then fell, and I had to keep it in a napkin in my purse. At the very least, it should have been properly cleaned before testing. Instead of making a real effort to reseat it, such as cleaning off the old cement, the dentist quickly dismissed it, saying it could not be refit and that I would need a brand new crown. Since the crown was only 4 months old, insurance would not cover a replacement, leaving me to pay out of pocket. Another major concern was that this clinic does not perform root canals and only refers patients elsewhere, meaning I was told to get a referral and then return for a new crown. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. The lack of basic hygiene, minimal effort to solve the actual problem, and focus on costly procedures over patient care left me feeling that this clinic prioritizes billing over genuine treatment. I would not recommend this office.

Fantastic experience: I had a very good experience at Carmel Mountain Dental Care yesterday. Boyeon, my hygienist, provided very thorough and careful services with a friendly and assuring demeanor and she provided me with some instructions in how to better care for my teeth. She was also very helpful in providing excellent xray images to the dentist for determining future care. I will also say the greeting upon arrival at the office was also very hospitable and overall my experience at this dental practice has been very positive.

Negative experience: Upon joining Carmel Mountain Dental Care at first, I was impressed with the efficiency and have always enjoyed my dental hygienist. I have noticed their quality, communication and availability has really gone down with time. First, they changed their hours suddenly, making the ability to have later appointments no longer possible. This was a nice option for people who otherwise work during the day. They called to cancel my husband's late afternoon appointment, and then told me that the next available would not be for another 5 months. They told me they would put me on a list to be notified for any availability that would come up. I never received a phone call. I had to call and pester them weekly in order to get an appointment rescheduled within several weeks. Next, I brought my children (all under 6 years old) to get their dental care here and my first appointment with them went very smoothly. They were seen by my same hygienist and they were able to get me in with back-back appointments (ideal for parents not wanting to make multiple trips to the dentist). I scheduled their next appointment in the same fashion- with my hygienist, back to back appointments. When I showed up to the appointment, my children were each called into separate rooms. My two and four year old at the time obviously were not going to be ok having their teeth cleaned without me present. This was really stressful for me to attempt to be in 3 places at once, be present for the cleanings/be aware about what was going on with their oral health per the dentist's exam. I know that they likely made a mistake with the scheduling at the last minute or my hygienist called out, but instead of coming out and telling me this, they made me feel like I was being high maintenance making these requests. The best part is that a lot of the staff claims they are parents as well. I wrote a formal complaint to their general email as advised by the front office staff. I never had a reply until I had to call to inquire if my complaint was received. I never heard from an office manager or more senior employee. Instead, I got a lame apology voicemail from an innocent secretary or hygienist who had nothing to do with my case. Finally, I show up to my most recent appointment for my children only to find out that they cancelled the appointment. I received an insincere apology from the rude office staff up front stating that they called me in the morning to notify me. I told them I never received any communications about a cancellation. I am the primary contact on my children's' accounts. I received the 2 emails, 2 texts and 2 phone calls (for each kid) that form a part of their reminder system for the appointment; yet they decided to contact my husband (who works during the day and is unavailable) and only left him a voicemail to notify us of the cancellation. It is clear that when they actually want to communicate something with you (i.e. remind you of your appointment), rest assured, they will get a hold of you, but the effort here was minimal and they didn't even direct it to the right person. When I attempted to try and re-schedule my children's appointments, they took the opportunity to try and mom shame me for only wanting my children to be seen by one provider at a time and used that as an excuse to again say they would essentially not be available to schedule me. Again I am apparently on an urgent wait list. I am not a fan of slaughtering companies with bad reviews and using passive aggressive communication; however, I attempted direct communication/feedback with them and did not get the desired result. I hope this sends a big warning message to people especially anyone with young children considering coming here.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient here since 2019. I had a traumatic root canal experience at another office in 2014 and have been scarred. Dr. Lyles is very caring and understanding about my anxiety and sometimes random tears I show even as an adult! Even with my extreme anxiety I have been able to overcome it a little bit at a time with each visit with her and her team

Fantastic experience: Everything went perfectly, from scheduling to reappointment. The office setting is beautiful and relaxing. The staff were welcoming and very professional. Everything was explained clearly. Up to date facility, very clean and following Covid protocol as I expected. Looking forward to my next visit.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience during my dental cleaning today. CJ was my hygienist, and she was fantastic—friendly, professional, and very thorough. She explained everything clearly and gave me detailed insights about the health of my teeth and gums, which I really appreciated. You can tell she really cares about her patients and takes pride in her work. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Well, they want a review… I am only going to stick with the facts and let you be the judge of this practice. My daughter had pain in her molars so they we’re kind enough to see her. When we went there, the dentist took x-rays and told us that she had like six cavities, but she couldn’t do anything for her because there were about to close. When I told them why was I given the appointment she answered, that one of the doctors has not shown and they have been swap and it was time to go, and there was no way she could work on my daughter. She also mentioned that she was doing us a favor, taking the x-rays. So we went home the same way we came in with six cavities, pain in the molars and a charge on our insurance. Thanks goodness she did do a favor of scheduling us for later this month. Now I ask you how many stars will you give to shirts service?

Positive experience: My first visit here, about six months ago, was flawless. The staff was amazing. However, during this most recent visit, the hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very rough and caused blisters in my mouth. She left my mouth feeling gritty. The dentist who came in to check on me afterward was nice and friendly. This is the first time in my life that someone has done such a rough job.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had some horrible dental experiences and my first time in Carmel Mtn Dental Care I was blown away by the customer service I received! I fully felt cared for and that my needs from a dentist were met. More than that, my last visit needed to be rescheduled due to a previous patient emergency. CMDC went above and beyond and gave me an Amazon gift card since I needed to reschedule for week later and sent a personal email to apologize for the inconvenience. No matter where I live in San Diego county I will ALWAYS go to this dental practice. Not only are they the best dentist I’ve been to, they are the best medical office I’ve ever been to! Highly highly recommend all of them!

Negative experience: They asked me to cancel and reschedule the the appointment that I made six months in advance a month before the actual appointment. My hospital work schedule came out shortly after and I needed to reschedule that new appointment. I was told they were scheduling SIX months out and she couldn’t get me in any earlier! That’s unacceptable…by that time, I wouldn’t have seen the dentist for over a year. When I said I’d need to find another dentist that could see me earlier, she told me “let me know if I need to send your dental records to them.” I’ve been going here for years and they showed no customer loyalty. I used to bring both of my children here until they missed major cavities on younger son. I noted a spot on his tooth a couple months after his dental visit. When I came in to have it assessed, they asked if anything was seen on his previous x-ray. I was told that there was not, but when they went to check his records, they couldn’t find the x-ray from his last visit. They said he didn’t have one done. Since the spot on his tooth looked suspicious, they just recommended he go to see a pediatric dentist. I was very upset since I was told he had x-rays at his last visit. When I went to the pediatric dentist, he had three cavities, and one of them was so bad that he needed a pulpotomy. I ended up pulling both of my children from CMD and taking them to that pediatric dentist. Only left this review because they sent me a request to review them after the appointment I canceled was originally scheduled.

Fantastic experience: Very efficient and thorough. I was told I might need a root canal. But after discussing with Dr. Allison, she recommended a different procedure. After that procedure, I immediately felt much better with the discomfort and pain. I was very fortunate they were considerate of my worries and did a thorough check up without just making me go through the procedure. I appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely adore the staff here , but YENNA was the best of them all. She was my hygienist and i have nothing but absolute great things to say about her. She was kind, gentle, personable, and just amazing. It was my very first visit here and they gave me this little gift bag , was so cute ! Anyways Yenna took the time to get to know me and was so very sweet, made me feel very comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place!

Negative experience: This is a late review since I wasn't really sure if my bad experience was caused by incompetence or an unfortunate accident. Now I am almost certain that this was incompetence. I had a root canal procedure turned nightmare where I had to go through pain like I have never experienced before and an injured swollen face for a month with blood in my sinus. I have had around 5 root canals total and the other 4 at other places have gone smooth. They are probably ok for routine cleaning. But please don't use for procedures like root canal.

Fantastic experience: Great service and very welcoming staff. It was my first time at this office, and Megan took care of me. She did a great job to make me feel comfortable and moreover did a great job cleaning my teeth. My next appointment is in December, I hope I will have the same experience as the first time. Negative experience: The service was al right but I am not planning to come back. The bill in advance and the bill was not accurate, then they sent me refund which was less than what my health insurance says. Be careful with this place. I also ordered a mouth guard and they were supposed to call me when it was ready. I called two weeks later, it was ready and they didn’t even bother to let me know. Then they could not give me an appointment to test if it fits ok for another week. Terrible, I hope I will get back the money that I overpaid and I will not come back.

Negative experience: I came to this office because online review was excellent and it is close by. However, I was really disappointed by the fact that the dentist, Jade Lyle, tried to rip me off. First of all, she sold me very expensive tooth paste - $25 each; second, she told me that I had 10 areas that needed filling, which would be completed in two visits. I had one visit and got first five filled. Afterwards, I had some sensitivity in some teeth, while I had not had the issue before. Then I decided not to do the other five. I also changed dentist because I wanted a second opinion. The next dentist I saw said my teeth were fine and I did not need any filling!!!! I spent a few hundred dollars and got my five teeth drilled and filled for nothing!!! Do NOT believe the high ratings of this place, it will rip you off!!!

Fantastic experience: I am 67 years old and have been to many dentist throughout the years. Have had many root canals and crowns. Today I saw Dr. Jonathan Lee and he replaced a crown I had done just a few years ago (which is not old!) for a crown. It was leaking and I even had some decay, it was the best experience I have had in a dental chair and the crown is beautiful ☺️. This office does the crown in one day which you will not have to put up with a temporary crown! Thank you Dr. Lee

Fantastic experience: I had the absolute best experience at Carmel Mountain Dental Care today and recommend that if you are dissatisfied with your current dental care you should give them a try. My appt was with Bernadette and Dr Polan who provided me with the absolute best care for what I needed. They are true to their promise, "Each time you come to our office we want you to have a wonderful experience. Your satisfaction and care is our top priority. We have an excellent staff that is highly trained and available to serve your every need." I felt that from my first interaction when they gave me detailed directions from the parking lot all the way to the end after my treatment when I was escorted back to the front desk when it was time for me to check out. To better understand my experience let me explain why I am now leaving another dental group in favor of CMDC. Three weeks ago I chipped my front tooth so I called up my regular dentist at Del Sur Ranch Dental. The first issue they caused was confusion over dental insurance. They claimed that I didn't have proper coverage and needed to go to another dental group. I confirmed and reconfirmed with them that I had coverage and although it was true that my insurance had changed, according to the insurance site DSRD accepted my insurance type. A couple days later that go back to me and agreed that I was good. The second issue was the amount of time they spent with me doing an assessment. I explained that I chipped my tooth and that I thought it was fixed before with a bond. It was explained to me that I needed another x-ray even though I had a full 3d scan just weeks prior when I there for a prior visit. After the X-ray the dentist told me that a "patch" wasn't really feasible because the aesthetics would really be off and that what was required were a few options. They needed to crown (or veneer) the chipped tooth then re-crown my other front tooth since it would be hard to match the color, and then veneer each tooth on the side of them making it a total of 4 crowns/veneers. The Dr called this option 4 with an option 5 of going with veneers for all my top teeth. When I asked about the simple patch again I was told that it just wouldn't look right but of course it was up to me since it was my money. They told me I could not get the estimate that day but I would receive a call back the next day with each option (1-5) which was to help me decide. After that 5-10 minute appt I was waved off with the appt being over. The next day I did get a call at the end of the day with the cost of $10k but of course they realized that it was a lot and would give me 10%-15% discount. Fortunate for me my wife read the positive article about Carmel Mountain Dental Center and their positive reviews from happy clients; so she encouraged me to get another consultation. I am so glad that I listened to her. What I received was extra care to ensure that I got exactly what I expected and needed to resolve my chipped tooth. The diagnosis wasn't a complete set of veneers or even doing crowns or veneers on my four front teeth, rather Bernadette and Dr Polan informed me that I had a simple chip, that had been repaired at some point in the past with a filling and that I could receive the same procedure with an ETA of two minutes. I asked questions about a crown or veneer just to make sure but was informed that it wasn't necessary at this point. I was advised to start with the least invasive and least expensive option which they would guarantee for up to a year in case I needed another repair. If for some reason the filling didn't resolve it then different options could be discussed. The most shocking news was to find out that the price was just a little above my Co-Pay. So rather than spending $10k (to make me look younger they said) I spent less that $100. So now of course I will be coming back to them for all future dental work and bringing my family with me. Negative experience: In general, I haven’t had any issues and I was happy with their services but today, I was called to be informed that my appointment for 6 month cleaning was cancelled because the hygienist is not available and the earliest they could reschedule me for after 4pm was in 6 month! Obviously, the reason I scheduled 6 months in advance is to get my cleaning done in time!!!

Fantastic experience: I’m a new patient, and so far I’m loving my care at Carmel Mountain Dental. I came to get a second opinion and stayed because I appreciate the approach that Dr. Allison has. She wants you as a long term patient, not as a quick way to make money. I’m now having my husband switch over to CMDC. I would recommend them to friends without reservation.

Fantastic experience: So, no offense to dentists, but I hate going to visit the dentist! Yesterday night I had a scare because of sharp tooth pain that stopped me from eating my dinner. I called Dr Lee, he was out of town but was super kind, patient, and compassionate while hearing about my problems. His team saw me the next day and were able to get me in and out in less than 30 minutes with a diagnosis and plan to address the pain. Dr. Lyle (sorry if I miss spelled your name!) was able to answer each of my questions and discuss at length my special circumstances regarding insurance. I would easily recommend this place to everyone!

Fantastic experience: Let me start off by saying that I am absolutely terrified of going to the dentist. Today was my first day visiting Carmel Mountain Dental Care, and I was blown away by the outstanding service that I received. Not only was every person that I spoke to kind and knowledgeable, they also took the time to make sure that I was comfortable and did everything they could to be as gentle as possible, which was beyond appreciated given my fear of the dentist due to previous traumatic experiences. They have a questionnaire asking you what is most important to you regarding your care, and even ask about how detailed you want them to go when relaying information to you. I highly recommend that everyone visits their office! This is the first time that I have left a dental office feeling so calm, and actually not terrified of going back. They also give you a cute new patient gift bag! Thank you to all of the amazing staff that assisted me today !

Fantastic experience: Dr. Polan and her staff fixed my crown with a limited amount of pain and discomfort. She was very concerned about my bite and made sure the new crown fit perfectly. I also appreciated that the crown is made while you wait, and the entire appointment was 90 minutes or less. For having a crown replaced, a great experience!

Fantastic experience: The service receptionist is sweet and friendly. She accommodated me in busyness of office waiting room. Offered water. The hygienist did amazing thorough cleaning. She answered all queso and recommended me items when I asked questions. It was a hopping dental office. I’m always at peace when Dr Lee comes and confirms reassuring me personally.

Fantastic experience: I'm always pleased with the level of care and attention I receive at my visits, and I do not fear having to go to the dentist here. I've gotten a few cavities filled by Dr. Lyles who ensures that they are there to last and was very accommodating when one chipped due to my retainer pushing up against it and replaced it at no cost for me. I am really impressed with the professionalism and service and highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: The service I received at Carmel Mountain Dental Care was exceptional. I would like to recognize Juliette for doing a great job making me feel comfortable during my dental cleaning procedure and providing good advice on dental hygiene.

Negative experience: I used to really like this place because they took care of the patient. However today, the hygienist's attitude made me feel unwelcome. First of all, she asked me for dental ID card, which I don't have. Turn out my dental insurance doesn't provide id card, the dental office have to call and deal with them. Then The hygienist put a blame on me saying that I didn't give the dental office my dental insurance information. But the dental office only called me and asked me about Covid related questions, they did not ask me anything about my dental insurance. I just don't like the way she look down on the patient thinking they don't have dental insurance.

Fantastic experience: CJ was the one who did my dental cleaning. She’s thorough and very informative compared to my previous dental cleaning. She’s awesome with a very cheerful personality! I requested for her in my next appointment in October! The clinic is spot less and maintained in a very sanitary method. The staff are very friendly!

Fantastic experience: Super professional and courteous service! They really do make your comfort a priority and go the extra mile in doing so. Just had a recent visit and I’m very happy they’re still taking patient safety as a number one priority. CJ and Dr Polan also personally wished me a happy birthday. I thought it was very thoughtful of them to do so and made my visit memorable.

Fantastic experience: I have been to multiple dental practices in San Diego for over 40 years. Carmel Mountain Dental Care is definitely the BEST! Fantastic experience: The hygienists here have always been the best thing about this practice in my humble opinion. Dr. Lee is always a pleasure whenever I see him. These guys make me feel like family. Today was the first time I had CJ. She was so professional, but down to earth and welcoming it really made the cleaning experience that much better. In the past 7 years I’ve gone through 3 different dentists. This is by far the longest I’ve stuck with any dentist and I honestly don’t see myself changing again. Kudos to the great team Dr. Lee has here. They’re so great I don’t mind going out of my way to let the community know this is the place for all your dental needs!

The front desk receptionists, dental hygienists, and the dentists are all extremely kind and a pleasant to interact with. Their expertise is shown throughout the entire visit. She not only ensures I have a great experience and takes care of my dental cleanings, but she also provided me with recommendations to improve my at home dental routine with a waterpik that accommodates my permanent retainer. She even took the time to make sure I knew how to use it so I got the best possible results. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Dr Lee since he bought the practice, 20 years? I'm 68 and there has been many different dental procedures along the way. Dr. Lee is a consummate professional and I've never had an issue that wasn't immediately addressed. They were few and minor to start with. Looking for a great dentist, you can't go wrong with dr Lee.

Fantastic experience: I made my first visit to CMDC yesterday, I was impressed.. impressed by the facility, the warm welcome, the covid protocol, and the fancy equipment. But my favorite part was the experience with Britt and Dr Polan, very knowledgeable, very smooth, though I have not done any major work yet, my first cleaning, and evaluation experience was impeccable, so much that my wife will be visiting them soon.

Check in was easy and they took proper precautions with distancing ensuring the patients safety. I have not been to such a thorough dental office that even has a team member clarify your goals, and asks whether you prefer detailed information or bottom line information. They are not only friendly but make your experience in the office a comfortable one where the staff are friendly and are willing to help you any way that they can. They all understand their practice and are ready to answer any questions that you give to them.
