Fantastic experience: On Jan 13, 2025, I had my first appointment with Dr. Fort and his assistant, Stephanie. He had been recommended to me by a dental hygienist neighbor of mine. As an 88 year old, I was seeking a new dentist away from one who was pushing me toward elaborate dental work when my remaining life expectancy is less than four years. Upfront, let me state that Dr. Fort is the most outstanding dentist I’ve ever had an appointment with. Moreover, the entire Dental Arts office staff were also exceptional — extremely helpful and considerate. I was tremendously impressed with Dr. Fort and gum specialist Stephanie from the start to the end of my appointment. Upfront, Dr. Fort asked me about my perspectives on the condition of my teeth and on my overall health. I told him that I knew that my upper mouth had dental issues but I was not experiencing any pain nor having any trouble chewing food. I gave the analogy that I didn’t want a new set of tires on my car if one or two could be repaired without jeopardizing safety — especially when soon I would no longer be driving. Dr. Fort understand immediately what I was saying then he shared his commonsense dental philosophy about respecting patient perspectives and not doing unnecessary work. As we exchanged views, I readily trusted, respected, and liked Dr. Fort. At this first appointment, he took the time to request and receive the x-rays of my mouth which my current dentist had not sent despite my request two weeks prior. He asked me to wait a few minutes in the dental chair until the x-rays arrived. Within a few minutes he used his up to date office technology to clearly show me the x-rays while he accurately described the exact condition of my teeth. Having had my relatively soft teeth worked on by numerous dentists over my long life, I recognized Dr. Fort to be unpretentiously brilliant and capable of doing nearly all dental work himself at Dental Arts unlike previous dentists who usually had to farm out other than routine procedures. I could go on with examples of my highly favorable impressions but my bottom line is that Dr. Fort is exactly the outstanding, emphatic, talented dentist with superb communication skills plus commonsense that I’ve been looking for. I asked him if he would accept me as a new patient and he agreed. I’m so relieved now to not be going back to my previous dentist who regularly tried to pressure me into elaborate dental procedures that would be farmed out. I’m confident that Dr. Fort will carefully and honestly explain and get my agreement on any dental work that I might need in the future. Fantastic experience: The staff and Dr. Kim are extremely friendly, even at 7:00 am. Insurance paperwork is submitted extremely fast, usually the same day. I had an early morning appointment. Later that afternoon, I was informed that my paperwork was submitted to my primary insurance and 48 hours later I received the check from the insurance company.

Fantastic experience: I had been with the same dentist for over 53 years. When I had severe tooth pain in February 2022,I tried to contact my dentist. I never heard from him but, after some investigation, found out his building was flooded in September 2021 and forced to close. I had no idea. I was in severe pain and knew something was wrong. The West Chester Dental Arts practice was recommended by two very good friends and I’m so happy to be a new patient. I had my first appointment within a couple of days and Dr Jae Woo Kim found the source of the pain (infection) and treated me. It took a few appointments because it involved a root canal and cap but I am so happy with the practice. It’s neat, clean, has modern equipment and everyone is so very kind and nice. I even recommended this practice to my husband and because he is now their patient, Dr Kim sent me a gift card for the referral. I have complete confidence in Hafida and Shannon, and Dr Forte too. I’m sure that I will meet the others and have complete confidence in them too. I give this practice 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: As a new patient, the appointment process was easy and straight forward. I was told what to expect as far as payment. Francesca performed my cleaning efficiently and gently. Dr. Fort explained what he saw as far as my oral health. Both Francesca and Dr. Fort were personable and asked if I had any questions. I am happy I choose West Chester Dental Arts.

Fantastic experience: If you have dental phobia, this is the best place to go. I have been putting off two root canals for over seven years because of severe dental phobia. I went to West Chester dental arts last December. Dr. Fort put me completely at ease. He has such a great manner as do all of the staff. I was given a total cost and a detailed Treatment plan. My fear still overwhelmed me, but I did go to the office for a deep cleaning. I felt so much more comfortable after that. In November, one of my bad teeth actually broke. We set my sedation surgery date for December 1. Although I was very nervous, I got through it just fine. I was totally comfortable and relaxed. He was able to extract the root of the one bad tooth and did the root canal and temporary crown on the other. I will be going back in two weeks for the permanent crown. I cannot say enough, good things about this office and highly recommend them. The only thing I regret is that they do not take my insurance. I did sign up for their dental plan, which gives a 15% discount on all services as well as 2 Cleanings and exams and x-rays annually. I am very grateful I found this practice

Negative experience: I do NOT recommend getting a cleaning at this clinic, specifically with the hygienist. This was genuinely the worst cleaning I’ve ever had in my life. The "cleaning" didn't really clean anything and the hygienist was extremely rough, rushed, and not careful at all. To be completely fair, every other treatment I’ve had at this clinic has been amazing. The staff is wonderful, kind, helpful, knowledgeable, and gentle. But the hygienist was the only exception. The whole experience was extremely traumatic. This was my third visit to the clinic, but my first time getting a cleaning here. The hygienist seemed to be in a hurry, maybe because I was the last patient of the day? I’m not sure. The whole thing was very bad. The “cleaning” was not a proper cleaning. It was just quick, harsh scraping that removed almost nothing. Every other dental cleaning I’ve ever had used electric tools that thoroughly clean the teeth. She only inserted a metal scraper between my teeth and pulled roughly, like a painful metal flossing. Because she was rushing, she actually poked my gums and pulled them, cutting me and causing significant bleeding, and my gums do not bleed easily. When she flossed, it was extremely rough and painful. She would push the floss aggressively into my gums, far harder than necessary. Then, while polishing, she moved so quickly that the rotating tool slipped onto my chin, cutting me with the abrasive paste that has little granules in it. The whole thing didn't even last 10 minutes. I was supposed to get a resin repair afterward, but I just left because all I wanted to do was cry. Again, everyone else at this clinic is truly amazing, and I would still recommend their other services. But based on my experience, I cannot recommend the hygienist for cleanings.

Fantastic experience: I always have a great experience at West Chester Dental Arts. Dr. Fort is very thorough, conservative in his approach, listens and answers questions, gives you all of the time you need, and is very friendly. The staff is welcoming, and very friendly, too. They inform and educate you on anything you want to know dental related. I would highly recommend switching to this practice for all of your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: I found WCDA when I googled peridontist. I was suffering from a missed diagnosis. My Dentist at the time accused me of not wearing my $800 invisalign mouth guard that my Dentist prescribed and swore my problem was that I wasn't wearing it. I was! The pain in my jaw was getting much worse and the left side of my face was swollen. EVERYONE I came in contact with at WCDA was kind and professional. My appointment happened on time and I was diagnosed with in minutes of sitting in the chair. A few days later Dr Kim was performing a Root canal. The procedure took 2hrs and he explained everything as it was happening. Dr Kim also kept my husband in the loop and answered all of my husband's questions. It was very pricey and my husband complained but in the end we both agreed that the Exceptional care I received was worth every penny. I really appreciate my new Dentist...WCDA

Fantastic experience: The experience at West Chester Dental Arts is excellent. On my recent check-up, Elaine did a great job on x-rays, and Shannon did a great job on cleaning. Everyone is extremely professional and pleasant. In addition to regular cleanings and check-ups, over the past 3 years I've also received dental aligners and had bonding done on my lower front teeth with great success. My dentist, Dr. Kim; my regular hygienist Maria; and my dental technician, Habiba, who fitted me for aligners and retainers, are all terrific.

Negative experience: PLEASE READ THIS ITS long but IMPORTANT before you make a decision. I DO NOT leave negative reviews lightly!!!! But what happened during my treatment with Dr Kim needs to be shared so others can make an informed decision. I originally went to have 1 infected tooth removed and my existing bridge, which Dr Shelly placed perfectly 12+years ago replaced. Instead the situation spiraled into a series of mistakes that left me needing major corrective work. When Dr Kim attempted to remove the my bridge, he struggled so much he had to cut it apart in pieces. During this process, he broke the tooth that was supporting the bridge forcing its removal. On the other side another healthy tooth was damaged. Dr Kim claimed it had decay, yet on my most recent X-ray showed no signs of it. Because these complications widened the gap to much to support a bridge properly, they had to grind down my remaining teeth and created a temporary piece. The assistant made it far to small, and it had to be jammed into place after several tries. It caused immediate and severe pain. When I called Dr Fort on a Saturday, he was shocked at how tight the temporary was, especially since I was suppose to be able to remove it myself. All of this happened right before my lumbar fusion surgery, that they were aware I was having done meaning I couldn't have the work corrected for months. I still cant sit comfortably for long periods due to my recovery and I'm still dealing with bleeding gums and difficulty eating because the span of the failing bridge is to wide and the sensitivity of the teeth they ground down. When I spoke with Dr Fort he agreed this was unacceptable. He offered to remove the remaining teeth and provide a lower denture at no cost. After researching lower dentures and hearing how they came loose, I inquired instead about snap in dentures. Because of everything I went through Dr Fort offered a $9269.00 discount (in picture below) ,which says a lot!! Why so much if they carry no responsibility?? The cost of snap in dentures would now be $17435.00 after discount. Because of these issues I'm pursuing permanent implants elsewhere at a cost of $22000.00 Given the circumstances and the fact that I am in this situation because of their mistakes, I asked Dr Fort last week to provide the $9269.00 refund he offered so we could part way professionally. I haven't heard back. I respect Dr Fort and his military service as I am a Navy veteran myself. But honor doesn't have an expiration date. I'm disappointed it has come to this, but patients deserve to know what can happen when things go wrong. If Dr Fort wishes to discuss this matter further, he has my number.

Trued another dentist to get a tooth pulled that was infected cause he was cheaper and recommended by a friend. All he did was cause me way more pain and told me I had to go to an oral surgeon. Went to Dr Fort and he had me numb and tooth out in no time.

Fantastic experience: Scared of going to the dentist? I was so terrified for years that I’m ashamed to say I avoided going altogether! Then when I finally did face it, another practice actually turned me away for being too sensitive, after only doing one quadrant of scaling. Another year went by…then a gum infection prompted me to reach out to West Chester Dental Arts. I’m so grateful to Dr Fort and his team for addressing my fear with warmth and knowledge. I was impressed that Dr Fort studied at U of Penn and was also a dentist in the Navy. He even called to talk through some of my questions later that day after my first appointment. My anxiety was taken seriously, and I was given the option of sedation (which I was also anxious about - but they answered all my questions with patience and kindness!) I then had a major scaling and planing done under sedation to address gum disease. Shannon the hygienist rocks! The sedation made it soooo much easier. It all went really well and my teeth and gums feel great so far—like new, at age 55! The whole team deserves kudos for giving me this chance at a fresh start with my oral care. THANK YOU SO MUCH! See you again soon, with much less anxiety.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Fort returned my call on the weekend after I fell and was concerned I had injured my two front teeth. He asked questions from which he determined I should be seen on Monday. X-rays were taken which he showed me and compared them to previous x-rays. He advised me what to expect in the next several days and to return in several weeks when more testing would be done. He spent time to answer all my questions.

Had an appointment Monday they took care of me quickly and made me feel handsome again far as I'm concerned Westchester dental arts will take care of everything that you need done fantastic staff thank you again one more thing when you walk in and you leave you have a wonderful smile here's my proof. ( I have been going to doctor fort for several years he's one amazing guy soon as you walk in the door you were greeted and made very comfortable the staff goes over the top to provide comfort and answer any questions you may have extra handout to the orthodontist very very thorough and as you can see in my picture the proof tells it all big smile.

Positive experience: The dentist did a competent job of providing a temporary fix to an emergency problem, but charged me almost $1000 for less than 15 minutes of his time, and no expensive materials.

Fantastic experience: After a month of getting comfortable with my dentures, I was ready for an adjustment. I had some rubbing on the left side and I was biting my lower lip when chewing. After arriving, I was seen quickly by Steph and Dr. Kim. They explained what had to be done and the adjustments were made without any discomfort. They were friendly and made my experience enjoyable.
