Fantastic experience: I took my Dad to Grand Traverse Dental because he had a toothache. They were the most efficient dentist we've ever visited and they were very friendly and helpful at the same time. In today's environment with COVID-19 they were totally prepared with temperature-taking and mask requirements and additional forms to support our visit. We plan to go back as need be. Very happy with their work ethic!

Negative experience: This review pertains strictly to the front office person handling my call. She was extremely rude and dismissive. I’d made disappointment five months ago. The week of, -after I’ve spent a considerable amount of time entering my new patient data onto their online form - I received a call where I was belittled and made to feel stupid. If my initial greeting left me with that impression, that’s not an office that I’d like to be associated with. Sorry Dr. Kelly,, please know how your staff treats new patients.

Fantastic experience: The only Dentist where I had fun and look forward to returning! My X-rays right before my eyes, my teeth cleaned better than ever before. Why would I ever go anywhere else.

Positive experience: First visit. Impressive facilities and staff. Advanced tools and good communication. However, they're requiring I have a $900 "deep" cleaning before they treat me any further. They don't disclose this policy in advance which is deceptive. I paid $200+ for their diagnostics to put me in this position. Going back to my old dentist who doesn't have this policy.

Negative experience: All I wanted was a ballpark estimate of how much dentures would cost me. The made me sign at least 10 gray pads and I had NO IDEA what I was signing. The doctor refused to give me that estimate so I had no idea if I could afford the procedure. Then they took some x-rays and referred me to another doctor because he was more familiar with my problem. That doctor was NOT IN NETWORK. If I cannot get that number then you need to remove me from your files and never contact me again! Tom Greene I have already found a new dentist. Stop sending me emails.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience. Hygienist even checked my blood pressure. I have had nothing but good experiences with my visits. This is one medical visit that I don’t mind. I can see and feel the difference when I leave their office. My hygienist is simple wonderful. She has a great sense of humor.

Negative experience: The male dental hygienist I was given must have been new, first he tried to drown me with water. I had to physically push his hands away so I could suck all the water out of my throat. Worst cleaning job ever, I still have plaque inside my lower teeth. He spent more time up selling services than cleaning. He kept pushing cleaning every four months. That's what I want to do, come in every four months to be water boarded and not have my teeth actually cleaned. They must get commission for up sell.

Fantastic experience: Excellent sign in.Rapid recognition, cordial encounter at the desk. Immediately put at ease for procedures. Beautifully waiting room and privacy maintained throughout encounter at the greeting desk. Excellent eye contact. No quibling about location of booth. All safeguards were utilized( so as to prevent any errors in procedure etc. Professional greeting at booth wit signature for procedure and explanation of impending procedure ( X-rays) Greeting from tech and explanation of procedure. Concerns regarding my comfort was voiced. Painless and accurate and easy to read X-rays which were shown to me ( the patient as well) Explanation of the findings by the dental hygienist who allayed my fears and answered my questions before the Dr was introduced. The Dr ( Dr Kelly) came in right after we finished and explained unprofessional then simple terms what needed to be addressed and the fee expected for the work to be completed. It was awesome.

I have very high anxiety but they help ease and calm me with gentleness and care. I make a point of going to quarterly appointments because I fear problems. I have had good dentists but these people are way above good.

Negative experience: I was a Néw patient today for X-rays and cleaning for the reasonable price of 199.00. The office was beautiful and the staff efficient and friendly. I met with the Hygenist who did extensive mouth x-rays and mouth pictures and in addition one and did the numbering of the gums health. She was very knowledgeable (I’m 69 and spent many hours in a dental chair) she saw some issues where I would need gum scaling but we would wait for the dentist to confirm. The doctor herself was professional but I found out they will not do a cleaning before you get the deep cleaning done at the tune of around 1500.00. I was shocked. So the charged me 150.00 for the X-ray and pictures plus an one1/2 of my time. I explained how disappointed I was to the front desk. I feel it’s almost criminal to book a cleaning and not to get it unless I agreed to more services.

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is not my favorite thing to do, but GTDC makes everything worth while. Not only do they have attention to detail, but they're informative and glowing with personality. What a wonderful and fun crew. I highly recommend this office.

Positive experience: I just love Dr Kelly and the hygienists/assistants! The office seems to be state of the art, with great equipment and tools. I always feel like they do a thorough job, AND they do so without trying to upsell me on services and products. The front desk staff does a good job of fitting me in when I need a not-previously-scheduled appointment. I thought it strange when I moved here that the dentist only checks me once a year, but I have been hearing that it is a common practice here. Pro tip: wear your winter clothes! And if that doesn’t keep you warm enough, you can always ask for a blanket and they will provide one.

Negative experience: Did not know until after cleaning that the Dentist only examines your teeth once every two visits, but you still pay for exam….by the hygienist. Not happy and was not told beforehand despite waiting nearly 4 months for appointment.

She even explained how some of my medications could affect my teeth. She also did a review of my x-rays, & the dentist also performed an exam. This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist’s office, and I learned a lot. I highly recommend this practice.

Positive experience: Nice staff. Met the dentist briefly seemed knowledgeable. I am just disappointed in them doing procedures that my insurance didn’t cover and they did not tell me such as putting fluoride on my teeth. I have never had done before in my entire life I did not need it. Then some camera procedure they did in my mouth. I knew nothing about. I did not need that either. I ended up walking out spending $80 that I did not need to spend so I’m disappointed. You should always let your clients know when they’re gonna have to come out of pocket That is my only complaint.
