Negative experience: Avoid this clinic. They messed up my root canal and damaged two other teeth, leaving me in severe pain and unable to consume cold drinks. I had to pay another dentist to redo the entire treatment. On top of the physical damage, they have predatory billing practices and keep booking appointments for me even though I’ve stopped seeing them. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent.

Fantastic experience: I was dubious about their self-appointed rank of 'Best Dental Office in Boston', but Sahara Dental has proven this title over and over again. Their hours are amazing. They're one of the only practices in the city open on the weekends, which was how I found them initially during a wisdom tooth emergency. The office staff is top-notch, always welcoming and attentive regardless of how busy it is. I never have to wait more than a couple minutes before being seen. They also know you by name! I've never received such hospitality at a dentist before. Dr. Shuster advised against getting a root canal for one of my front teeth that had been bruised during a fall ages ago, and instead straightening and whitening with Invisalign. Now my whole set of teeth look better and the process only took a couple months. I couldn't be happier with the results. Cheaper, less invasive, and relatively painless. Shout out to Lira, who's been my dental hygienist since I started going there. She always takes great care of your teeth and is just the sweetest person. Overall a great experience, best dental practice for anyone in the Allston/Brighton area.

Fantastic experience: Had a really good experience at Sahara for my dental cleaning. Minimal wait time, with friendly and attentive front desk staff & hygienist. The office is clean with easy parking. I was made aware of all fees up front as I do not currently have dental insurance. Dr. Chammas is knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and made me feel at ease with my dental care. Didn’t feel rushed at all because she really cares that her patients have great experiences. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: A visit to the dentist is not usually something most people look forward to. Visiting with a terrible tooth ache, and the uncertainty of what to expect, adds to the anxiety. Sahara Dental in Brookline scheduled me for an x-ray quickly. The staff was very professional. Dr. Naji was awesome. He removed a wisdom tooth quickly, and painlessly! The next day follow up was very appreciated. I can't imagine how this could have been any less stressful. Thank You

Fantastic experience: Alex at the front desk is amazing!! He was super communciative and let me know that everyhting will bw alright after I was told I had SEVEN CAVITIES. He sat me down and scheduled me for a second opinion, and kept me calm while I'm reeling over my MY SEVEN CAVITIES. DR. Han assured me I have no cavities but need to pay attention to two teeth in the back.

Negative experience: Be aware of this place, they are doing shady balance billing which is illegal. The doctors are very nice and professional, but the billing practice is shady! I went to see a in network doctor, they still tried to quote me 2k for a root canal treatment, even after my insurance estimation confirmed my responsibility was ~$500. When I told them their sticker price should be written off per their contract with my insurance, the receptionist lady played dumb. This is very wrong. I cancelled my appointment and will never return. They apparently knew what they are doing and prey on patients who are pressure to hand over whatever they ask. This is unethical.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE!!! I went to get a cleaning and first off the hygienist took me to a dirty room with used equipment all around (same hygienist who cleaned my teeth and it felt like I was his first patient) but that’s not even what I care about. The dentist told me i needed SEVEN fillings, she tried to get me to book my appointments then and there but I did not because I was weary due to other reviews. I’m a college student in Boston so I went back home to have my dentist there look at my teeth, he said I only have one cavity and only need ONE filling NOT SEVEN. Ridiculous, the dentist at Sahara even told me it was likely I needed several crowns, not true simply just a small filling. DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE they will try and rip you off and take out your old fillings and replace them when it is not needed. Thank goodness I went to my other dentist and didn’t end up with unnecessary root canals and ripping out old fillings for no reason!!

Negative experience: Unfortunately I cannot recommend this dental practice. I was never seen by the same dentist twice and I was a patient for years. The wait time to start the appointment is usually not terrible but you do end up waiting a lot between the dental hygienist seeing you and the dentist seeing you. They seem to be a teaching practice so sometimes 3 students are also in the room, which is overwhelming. Although I did give them multiple chances, the following is what made me leave and never come back: I had two small cavities next to one another and they were filled in initially by yet another new dentist that seemed unsure of what they were doing. When I return 6 months after for my next cleaning, yet another new dentist at Sahara tells me that the fillings were done incorrectly and that they will fix them for no charge. I should've gotten up and left but I gave them another chance. Afterwards, I kept having discomfort for months and something not feeling quite right, I decided to go to a new dental practice and they had to redo them (now for the third time) and they immediately feel perfect. I immediately canceled all future appointments with Sahara Dental and they have the audacity to keep sending me texts AND calling me to tell me that I'm overdue for a cleaning even though when I called to cancel the next appointment for cleaning, I very clearly stated I was not going back. I had to block their number.
Negative experience: They gave an appointment at 1030 in the morning while the office was closed I was waiting with 5 others outside the office for hours in the rain and no one show up

Fantastic experience: 10/10 a highly recommend !! I cannot say enough good things about Sahara dental . I have extreme dental anxiety and I was experiencing excruciating pain from a tooth that needed to be extracted. I called Monday morning and was seen at 12 . Dr. Naji used all his patience on me that day because I was a mess from my anxiety. He referred me to an oral surgeon to have extractions done . I followed up with him a week later and he scheduled me right away to start my dental work . I have never been more please and comfortable with a dental office . I walk in and they greet me so kindly. I had 2 root canals twenty minutes ago and i felt nothing . I’m looking forward to continuing my care here at Sahara Dental.
Negative experience: Had an awful experience here last year. Was told I had a cavity that needed a filling, which was given right there (4pm on a Wednesday). The next morning (Thursday) when I woke up I could feel a hole in my tooth. I called all morning, left several messages, and received no reply. I walked over to their office and the doors were locked and all the lights were off. Dear reader, they were apparently "closed early for Memorial Day weekend" - nice, but it was 10am on a Thursday? When I finally got in to see an emergency dentist from a different office he told me that they left the flash on and there was a bubble in the filling which made it feel like there was a hole in my tooth. To make matters worse, the emergency dentist told me that what I had was a pre-cavity and he wouldn't have recommended a filling in the first place. So Sahara Dental gave me a shoddy filling, charged me for it, and then completely ghosted me. To make matters worse no one from their office ever contacted me to resolve this or offer to fix the filling, but to this day they continue to contact me to remind me that I'm due for a cleaning. AVOID
Fantastic experience: Kori and Dr. Naji did an amazing job making me feel comfortable and literally removed my wisdom teeth so fast! Was super nervous getting my wisdom teeth removed later in life and was best experience I could have hoped for!

Fantastic experience: Dr Chammas took exceptional care of me for my crowns (cases). She is a radiant human being who really values her work and expertise and it shows in her results. She was patient with my anxiety, professional with the local anesthetic and shared my excitement to fix my cracked teeth and get a night guard. I have a long history of dental work but the team really encouraged me that all would be well. I learned so much with how to take better care of my teeth. I would highly recommend this practice but also, Dr. Chammas. I am very well pleased and grateful I found this place so far from home. Thank you again. -Mary G

Negative experience: Similarly to others, I felt the need to post about Sahara Dental after receiving much higher quality care somewhere else (Brighton Family Dental, to be exact). I was advised to get FOUR fillings at Sahara during a visit, one of them on my front tooth(!!). I was skeptical. I didn’t schedule a follow-up appointment for the first two fillings. I grind my teeth and eat sweets and coffee, but I am diligent about taking care of my teeth with that in mind. At the next practice I went to, I let them know that I was advised to get fillings in a few places. After extremely thorough and kind care at Brighton Family Dental Group, (very different from the brief cleaning appointments I received at Sahara from 2021-23), they told me fillings were inadvisable. I didn’t have significant cavities. I just had significant wear from bruxism, and drilling wouldn’t change that. I was really disappointed in Sahara’s care & felt cheated, despite a few good appointments with one of their weekend dentists. The star they do get from me is regarding communication. They made it easy to schedule & change appointments as needed. The owner gave me a call after posting a review, and I appreciate that, but ultimately it’s still my body that is impacted by staff at places that offer dentistry. I don’t recommend this practice, unfortunately.

Negative experience: It's been over a year since I visited Sahara, but after settling in at a new dentist and receiving outstanding care, I feel compelled to write about my time going here from 2022-2023. My experiences are below, but I am most troubled by a situation my roommate had here, where she was pushed to get a wisdom teeth removal (as others have mentioned they were convinced to do). While being numbed up, she said she had a shocking tingling experience in her face as if the dentist had struck a nerve, making her tear up, and the dentist was condescending to her reaction. She also said they did not discuss any pain management or expectations for after the removal. Not my experience but it was not fun to see a friend upset after her procedure. In my experience, most appointments and cleanings went fine, but once with a newer dentist, was told I had a ton of previous issues with my teeth like long-term wear and structural issues, even though the other dentists had never addressed those things in the past and I hadn't noticed any changes with my teeth. Now after seeing a new dentist, I know that there are a lot of ways to actually test/monitor structural issues, and I don't think this office did any of those or other things to actually diagnose or monitor these issues. For instance, I had never had my jaw examined or bite thoroughly examined. My new providor confirmed I do have some wear, but none of the serious concerns that the previous dentist was admant about, so I feel like they just wanted to scare or shame me for how my canines weren't sharp. As others have mentioned, the front desk staff is also less than helpful about billing and insurance. They once made a small mistake submitting my card/group number and tried to tell me that I wasn't covered, when my insurance hadn't changed from a prior appointment and my coverage was active. Even though I gave them my information, they still had me call my insurance to call them to verify, instead of handling it themselves. There are better offices.
Fantastic experience: I came to Sahara for the first time and had a great experience. They were able to get me scheduled quickly, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. Dr. Naji was easygoing and attentive. Highly recommended!
Fantastic experience: AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME service, very polite, very professional and the big one very caring. In the middle of holiday season and these guys showed up to help out. They really care about your well being and want to make sure you are taken care of. I had a tooth abscess that needed a tooth extraction and they made me feel very comfortable the whole time. THANK YOU DR. Fernanda and Dr. Naji for everything. Highly recommend.
Negative experience: I have been their patient since 2018 and have kept my balance clear at every visit (as is their policy). They sent me a bill of 2019 now, to my old address, whereas all their current correspondence comes to my current address. Even on multiple follow up they could not give me a reason, except sending me pages of itemized bills and blaming it on the insurance. They could not even point out which item the insurance refused to cover. Their account department threatened to send my bill to the collection and told me to find a different dentist. The entire tone was condescending. I escalated to Dr Naji, and he spoke kindly but did not revert the charge and gave me a "50% off" on this supposed bill. I had no choice but to pay. I feel bullied. As their account team suggested, I will look for a different dentist.
Negative experience: The worst dentist in the entire world. The financial department is absolute trash. They are refuse to give me my money back. It has been almost a year and they are still just keeping my money hostage. Do not go here or you will have trouble getting everything settled

Positive experience: Been visiting this office for 3 years now. The staff is always super nice, however, expect to wait well past your scheduled time. Last time I waited over 40 minutes for my appointment and had to leave without getting my cleaning done or else I would’ve been super late for work. You should not overbook appointments if you are understaffed!!!

Negative experience: This dental practice has no in-person office or finance manager. When there was an issue with my bill, the front office staff had to email their office manager. I asked for that person's phone number so I can speak directly to them but the reply was that they only have an email. Also, on another occasion, I called to cancel an appointment but still received an email reminder. I called twice during the week and their phone message stated they were closed. Finally, I emailed them and they cancelled my appointment via email. I don't trust any business that does not have in-person office manager. Is this The Wizard of Oz where a little person hides behind the curtains and writes emails all day??
Negative experience: [Scam business alert] Avoid this place at all cost. On the day of procedure, they asked me to pay all of the costs upfront which I did. 3 years later, they have sent me a bill which I have no way of paying since they do not pick up the phone. The phone gets connected to a call center and despite leaving 3 voice messages and multiple emails, the staff don’t bother to give a call back. The online payment system does not accept adding a payment method and bugs that the doctor has not set it up. I barely write a 1 out of 5 which is consider it a negative review. And the business must have been operating so terribly to get me to write one. The phone tells they are having high call volume and no matter when you call them during their business hours they don’t pick up the phone. Again, save yourself from any incorrect billing or trouble paying their incorrect bill by avoiding this center altogether. Please read the other 1* reviews. This business is sending people bills out of nowhere after a very long time after their visit and clearly is running a scam. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS.
Negative experience: This is a total 100% scammer company. I paid a visit in 2019. I paid my bill timely and in full. But this year they sent me a bill claiming that I still have a balance remaining with them even though I was covered with great health insurance at the time of my previous visit. Avoid at all costs. I asked them to provide evidence and they didn't reply to my email because they don't have the evidence. They kept sending me the bill. I need to report them to the police. Run if you can. Their technique is terrible. I chipped my front tooth in 2019. But it was a minor chip. They filed my front tooth down to nothing so that they could bill me extra for a custom crown. The crown they placed fell off after TWO months when I bit down on some chocolate. I didn't sue them for medical negligence, and they still kept sending me the bill. If you don't take my advice, you'll regret it!
Fantastic experience: I have been a customer in the past five years and always had a fantastic experience! Dr. Naji and the whole team are always very pleasant and super professional. If you’re looking for an experienced, compassionate, and a dentist that works with passion, Dr. Naji is truly amazing (especially if you are stressed out!).
Negative experience: Was scammed into buying a nightguard that I didn't need, charged for preventative cleaning which should have been 100% covered by insurance, and they did x-rays that my insurance didn't cover. I had to report them to my insurance to force them to compensate me for the over-charges. My experience and fighting with them is very reminiscent of the other recent reviews on here as well. Do not recommend.
Negative experience: I went to Sahara for about two years and initially had no issues. I was just going for routine cleanings, which they handled without issue. However, after being told that I needed a procedure to address a gum problem, I became a little suspect. I was given two options to fix my gums. Option A was a 1-time, invasive procedure that had a high success rate. Option B was a minimally invasive procedure that would require me to come in every 2-3 years to have redone. When the dentist recommended I take Option B, which ultimately would mean me giving them more money in the long-term due to the need for repeat procedures, I was turned off from Sahara. I received a 2nd opinion from another provider in the area, which has led me to write this as-negative-as-can-be review of Sahara. This dentist said A) My gums are fine, I do not even need the procedure in the 1st place and B) Even if I did need the procedure, they would never offer Option B as a solution, because it doesn't work and sometimes makes the problem even worse. So, in short, Sahara Dental tries to scam their customers into procedures that they do not need and then recommends to them solutions that are nowhere near best practice. Sahara dental is a money-grabbing office who puts their financial gain well ahead of their patient's needs. Avoid this place at all costs, as there are PLENTY of better, respectable providers in the area.
Negative experience: Like a few other people here, I’ve had unpleasant experiences that led me to stop going to this dentist (one in particular where I was told 17 mins before my appointment that my crown wasn’t available - a few others where I was treated rather poorly which left me feeling very unwelcomed). I hadn’t been a patient for nearly 3 years. In early March, I got an email stating I had a dental statement available. When I contacted them, I notified them that I’d already paid my balance from my last visit, I was told I would hear from their billing manager. While waiting to hear back, I received two bills in the mail. Three weeks later with no contact, I called and was told my number was given to someone in the Brookline office who would call me the following day. No one called so I texted the office to figure out what was going on. I was told there was some sort of technical error on their end and that I didn’t have to worry about paying until someone called me. I asked for further explanation of the error, as well as an itemized receipt of the bill but I got no response. Other times I contacted them I wouldn’t get a response. I finally heard something today, where they told me they were not sure what the error was and that I “do not have to do anything with the bill”. It’s upsetting how unprofessional they are and equally upsetting that other people have been dealing with this same issue.
Negative experience: UPDATE 4/24: Despite asking to speak with billing multiple times (for two months now) I called again after I received a response below from Sahara Dental. When calling and asking to speak to Billing (again) I was told they did not have a direct number, the contact was out of office, and I would have to send an email. I asked for an ETA on the email response and the receptionist said "I don't know." I was given another new story of the random bill I received and still there have been 0 corrections made. Terrible experience here from start to finish. I visited Sahara Dental in 2017 and was given an incorrect mouthguard for tooth pain at an extremely high cost. Needless to say, I have never returned. Over a month ago, I received a bill from Sahara Dental. The bill says nothing around what the bill is for, or, the fact is is six years after I first visited. I have called, email, asked to speak to the compensation team and each and every time I call I am told something different. When asking to speak with a manager I am told to "send an email." It has now been a month+ with zero resolution. The billing portal almost feels like a scam. I would absolutely not recommend this business.

Negative experience: Just received a random bill from this place asking me to pay even though I haven’t been there for 1.5 years. Based on other reviews it seems that they are doing this to everyone. I also had a bad experience when I had the checkup regarding a growing wisdom tooth. The dentist recommended me to take all four out and said it’s standard to remove all other wisdom teeth even when they are not grown. The front desk quoted me for $3k and looked at my X-Ray and said they have never seen teeth like this and I should do the surgery ASAP. Definitely felt they were trying to get unnecessary procedures done to get more money from patients. Unprofessional behavior since the front desk people were not even dentists. I went to another dentist for a second opinion immediately after and had no surgery and my teeth had been fine for the past 1.5 years. Crazy how this place even received so many positive reviews. They only wanted money and were extremely unprofessional.

I went to a different dentist and he said I needed only 1 filling, and it was a small cavity. If you go here you are risking permanent and unnecessary damage to healthy teeth!! What dentist has 900 reviews? They're clearly fake to counter the huge number of 1 star reviews.
Negative experience: I have not been a patient in the office for over 2 years and it is indicated in their system. I received a random bill this past month with no explanation. They first emailed me a false bill and then found my new address and mailed me an overdue notice. I called and they explained that due to some "accounting" system issue, they have sent out invoices to patients. They have failed to notify people of this accounting error and if you weren't the wiser, you would be paying this for nothing. Furthermore, at the time I transferred offices, I had requested to send my dental Xrays and history to my new dental office. They sent the information of another patient... clear HIPPA violation. Something is off in the management there.
Negative experience: I had an extremely horrible experience at Sahara in December of 2020 with a wisdom tooth extraction. There was a lot of negligence that took place during my visit, and I ended up with a severe infection - that I and can almost guarantee resulted from the care I received here - leaving me without the ability to eat or speak clearly for a month. Safe to say I never returned. Now, nearly 3.5 years later, I received a bill out of nowhere that is allegedly for this service (but I have sincere doubts), but it has been impossible to get anyone on the phone to discuss the matter. The kind front desk workers have let me know they have been advised not to direct calls or provide a phone number to the billing department, and the only person I’ve been able to reach via email does not respond and will not connect me with someone to talk on the phone, despite me asking to just understand what is going on several times. I cannot recommend this dentist to anyone, not only due to the poor service I received, but now the shady behavior that is occurring years after the fact.

Negative experience: Their periodontist is wildly unprofessional. He called me by another patient's name and therefore was clearly unprepared for my appointment. He needed to pull up my referral on the computer right in front of me. He was adamant something he did didn't hurt me and dismissed my disdomfort. Largely though, he insisted on a treatment plan for a problem I hadn't gone in for; not listening to my real issue. He followed me into the waiting room to keep pushing his plan. I walked out, and he told my dad about the treatment plan without my consent.
Fantastic experience: (Update 9/24/24, inspired by a particularly exceptional patient experience)- Another marvelous time at Sahara Dental this afternoon-- like taking some "time out" at a spa...except also VERY PRODUCTIVE: First, the practice manager Xaq looked so good in his turban at the front desk that I am inspired to try one out, myself. Then Iule unexpectedly invited me into a room quite early to take x-rays when I arrived a little early-- so I felt ahead of the game already! And then Dr. Chammas came in to clean my teeth with *extraordinary* care: ultrasonically and also manually to thoroughly clear pockets that have formed between teeth and gums. My whole mouth felt SO clean, I rather regretted having to eat again this evening... And Dr. Chammas patiently and respectfully answered all the questions I raised-- and recommended a new (for me, at least) sort of floss for my particular teeth issues that I'd not yet tried-- also reminded me of an implement that I had forgotten I'd bought but have not used much, and she confirmed that a mouthwash I sometimes use is effective-- she is SO informative...and I loved her occasional soft humming while she worked: so relaxing, I felt like I was in the presence of a great artist in "the Zone': hard at work that is also a labor of love. Then when Iule came in again to assist with some filling replacements, she turned on an exquisitely soothing medley of Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, Debussy, and Chopin (those are the composers in the list whose names I can recall; there may have been others): the perfect touch to complete my Ultra-Productive "spa" experience! I still cannot say enough about Sahara Dental. The whole office staff have been superb. (And even their restroom has always been sparkling clean: yet more evidence of their careful attention to details and consideration for patients-- in all that they do and see around their work spaces, including such a clean and tidy restroom!) (My ORIGINAL post, 4 years ago:) Sahara Dental has provided me exceptional service in a variety of ways. At first it was hard to believe that their office could actually be open *even on Sundays*— which would have been very helpful for a situation I was in a few years ago, when a dentist at another office (not associated with Sahara) impinged on a nerve in my lower jaw during a dental procedure performed on a Saturday afternoon...I was left by that other dental office to wonder for the rest of the weekend why it was taking so very long for the anesthesia to wear off... Sahara Dental has also made a number of dental services available that I hadn’t before considered (in one instance, I hadn’t even considered possible) and wasn’t sure I could afford. My lower teeth, especially, which I could see had gone out of alignment, in just six months have been put right with Invisalign—and Dr Naji even extended the service at no charge to make my two front teeth more even, when I noticed a slight difference in the lengths of the teeth after the originally agreed-on course of treatment. He is also including a custom-fitted night guard at the end of the Invisalign treatment. Dr Naji also took time to explain a difference in coding/terminology that I hadn’t been able to understand, to interpret two associated dentists’ cost estimates re: a crown—saving me hundreds of dollars: one office apparently included a procedure in their estimate that the other hadn’t listed and would charge extra for. One suggestion: Make a list of all questions you might have *before* coming to an appointment—and be sure to *look at the list DURING your scheduled time*—because the dentist(s?) there, from what I understand, don’t generally answer questions over the phone or outside scheduled appointments. The office is quite efficient...ensuring that Sahara Dental can fit in unexpected urgent cases that come in during the day (so, as needed in a busy office)—which does happen, AND will be greatly appreciated whenever I am in such a worrisome situation, too. Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this practice enough, every time I go everyone is nothing but kind, relaxed, and attentive. I had previously gone many years without visiting a dentist and was very nervous to start going again, but they made my first experience after so long an absolute relief. 10/10 would recommend to anybody!
Fantastic experience: Dr. Naji took really great care of me after a bad fall. He was able to see me same day on a Friday, and I walked out with no pain. He had me looking like myself in no time. Aside from the dental work, which I'm extremely satisfied with, Dr. Naji is great at explaining your treatment process and timeline, and makes you feel at ease. In terms of scheduling and insurance, the team at Sahara dental is super communicative and knowledgable. I'm so grateful to Dr. Naji and the team at Sahara Dental.
Negative experience: Came to Sahara Dental for a cleaning today and it was an unpleasant and unprofessional experience. I chose this place after seeing great Google reviews, so if you’re looking for a new dentist, please do your research and check out the Yelp reviews too :/ The check in experience felt very disorganized. As I was trying to check in, the receptionist got distracted and walked away (I understand things come up but any acknowledgement of what was going on would’ve been helpful) and then someone took her place and proceeded to help another customer. I was left awkwardly waiting several minutes and had to be the one to follow up with the original receptionist on whether I had been checked in since there was no communication. Luckily, her colleague helped me out, so I chalked this up to it being maybe a new employee still in training. The dental hygienist had a long delay while she was prepping her supplies and left the room again (usually at other dental offices, the room is prepped and it takes a few minute max before things start). She was nice enough, but there was also very little communication on what was happening next, since she skipped plaque/teeth cleaning and only did light polish and flossing. And then I waited another 20 minutes for the dentist to come in. I found out she’d handle the rest of the cleaning, but it felt less thorough than usual (it took 2 minutes and I had a lot of water sprayed on my face compared to usual cleanings). This part was also very uncomfortable and also left my gums bleeding, which is not normal either. The whole experience was negative and unfortunately I do not recommend this place.
Fantastic experience: My daughter needed a cavity filled. She was really nervous. She was able to get a next day appointment. They were kind, patient, and fast. She called me after and said it was the best dental appointment she’s ever had. Thank you Dr. Han and staff!
Negative experience: Had an extraction of 4 molars in April 2023. Extraction was successful and I healed well, but I was treated in a way that caused unnecessary pain and emotional distress. Before the surgery, when I expressed worries / my feelings of uncertainty, the doctor joked that "if you win the lottery you could do something else instead of extraction". At the start of the surgery, he didn't check in with me whether the local anesthesia has taken effect when he started using force on my teeth. The pain hit me like a rock. When I reacted negatively again after he applied additional anesthesia, he questioned whether I was experiencing actual pain, or was I just feeling some pressue. I waited for my third anesthesia to take effect, but there was no communication about how long I was supposed to wait before the doctor stepped out, leaving me alone with the assistant, who also didn't communicate much or check in with me to see how I was doing... In short, If you value being treated gently, and want to feel like you're in the hands of someone who cares about your pain -- go find another dentist.
Negative experience: BE AWARE: if you want to be treated with professionalism, please reconsider. Unbelievably awful experience and unprofessional dental clinic (Even the dentist herself was complaining to her assistant about some other employee being pushy for minutes when I entered the treatment room). Dr. Han asked me to put on Invisalign and check my own biting BY MY SELF right after treatment when my mouth was literally NUMB. I was confused and ended up hurting myself during the process. Front desk employee couldn’t find my dental plan that was just used there 3 weeks ago, and was passive aggressive when she called the insurance company for double check.
Fantastic experience: We took my 92 year old mother - we were nervous about what to expect as was she- the hygienist - Corine (May be misspelling her name) was absolutely SUPERB! She was patient with my mother and kind and VERY good at what she did!
Fantastic experience: Always great service as expected. My teeth whitening was excellent quality and service, just from the first session done. The prices are decent and the costumer service is good quality too. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic experience: Went in for a cleaning after a few years without one. Dr. Naji and the hygienist Andrea were both kind and attentive, and Dr. Naji answered any questions I had in informative detail. They also let you book appointments via email or text, whereas some practices make you call. I would recommend this practice!
Fantastic experience: So happy we found Sahara Dental! My husband was having severe pain during the weekend due to a tooth that needed a root canal but our regular dentist wasn’t open until Monday. I sent Sahara Dental a message at 4am Sunday morning and they got back to me by 9am and had him in for an appointment by 10am, did the root canal he needed the same day. The staff in the clinic were all very helpful and friendly, and I’m so glad he didn’t have to suffer with pain for another day.
Negative experience: Getting a retainer set here is ridiculous. Spare your time and resources. A $500 retainer has taken over four appointments. I noticed at the first appointment that all the hygienists were still in training. They all required the approval of one of the DMDs before the molds were finalized. In the second appointment, only the bottom set of retainers fit, so a new mold for the top had to be done. At the third appointment, I was told by Raina that the top retainer wasn't even here and I had to come back again the next week. Here's hoping that they'll actually contact me before the fourth appointment. The appointment where I get my top retainer from Sahara Dental will definitely be my last appointment with them. I should not have to take off approximately four hours of my time to get a set of retainers. As a teenager, I have gotten retainers before, and it did not take four appointments. Why is it that this office takes four appointments and doesn't communicate with their clientele in regards to whether they are done or not? They let me walk in and get checked in without checking that the product I was coming in for was here or not.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing experience at this dental office after I had a chipped tooth and required emergency dental services on a Sunday morning. They accepted me same day and were able to do a prompt filling on my tooth. I had seen Dr. Katherine Tran who did a phenomenal job on the filling making it barely noticeable. The whole staff was very professional and kind and they were upfront about the cost prior to starting any work. Overall I would highly recommend this dental office to others, 5/5 experience!
Fantastic experience: Wow! First time going here and I was blown away. I’ve been searching for a new dentist for the last year after switching jobs and insurances. I tried Olivia Guo Dental in Coolidge Corner in summer 2022 at my last 6-month teeth cleaning. It was a horrible experience unfortunately. She was very kind but did not do a good job. This made me apprehensive for trying yet another new place. I am no longer apprehensive and have found my new go-to dental team! From the texts and emails I received beforehand to the courtesy of the two front desk staff I was greeted by to the dental hygienist (Kareem) to Dr. Naji, everything and everyone was amazing!!! My teeth have never felt cleaner or looked better. I also had a few x-rays done and that went very smoothly. Dr. Naji explained everything and we discussed/planned next steps and a treatment plan. I left with the front desk staff booking me two follow-up appointments and my next 6-month teeth cleaning. Everyone was SO genuinely kind, caring, and attentive. I did not feel rushed even though we went a little over time. They truly cared about my health and well-being and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. The dental hygienist Kareem (sp?) was a gem. So so sweet, funny, diligent, and nice. She checked in with me often as I told her I have some sensitive teeth. I can’t say enough positive things about this dentist office and team. Thank you everyone!! You are so appreciated and your hard work and awesomeness does not go unnoticed. Update: just saw that the dental office front desk staff sent me the follow-up paperwork I requested regarding fees, payment plans, etc. which will assist me in budgeting and making the most financially informed decision. They sent this to me within a couple hours of me leaving so they are very on top of it and this extra touch shows just how much they care. They also did not recommend extra services just for the sake of it. They helped me explore my options but ultimately empowered me to do what’s best for me. Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: I had unbelievable tooth pain for the first time in my life and my own dentist couldn't see me for a week. I was going down a Google search of emergency dentists and I am so glad that Sahara Dental was the office that offered me a same-day appointment. I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Salem, who was kind, professional, and knowledgeable. I work in Patient Experience for a major healthcare system and I wish that some of the clinicians I work with could observe him in action and learn from his patient-centered approach and compassion! The hygienists and administrative team are also incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Fantastic experience: BPS Educators' dental insurance is accepted 100% here. I’m delighted with my decision to get my dental work done here. Sandra assisted me with an emergency dentist’s appointment and ensured everything worked as smoothly as possible. They made my husband wait 2 hours for his cleaning appointment and just took xray after waiting 2 hours and made further appointments. Lack of communication for the wait and waste of time for us, makes me feel this place is simply horrible if you don't care for your patients time. Fantastic experience: This place is amazing!! They fixed my broken root canal for 50 bucks... Very professional, quick, cheap, honest, and good. They could have done another root canal if they wanted get more money. But they always choose to do the right thing for the patient.

Positive experience: I wasn't able to go my initial appointment for cleaning which was scheduled way back in March due to schedule conflict with my class. I got their text messages and voice mails asked to confirm so I called in 2 days prior to my appointment to reschedule and today I got another text message saying that the appointment overlaps with the office lunch break then why didn't you let me know when I called in to reschedule and now you asked me to move my appointment which I only have 90 minute break between classes. There was no apology whatsoever and also the person who was on the phone and in text message are not friendly at all. Bad customer services. Period. Updated: the manager called me 30 mins after I posted my review saying that the new staff is on training. She remedied the issue by keeping my appointment remain the same and offering me $25 off any treatment which I don't need but I appreciate it. Everything at the appointment went well. Staffs at front desk were friendly and attentive at the time. Cleaning was quick and effective. You got me back!

Fantastic experience: The care I received for an emergency visit was excellent. I had a swollen cheek and was in a lot of tooth pain over the weekend. I called on Sunday and the staff was very accommodating and warm. They accepted my insurance and gave me an appointment first thing Monday morning, which was quicker and more convenient for me than waiting to schedule an appointment with my regular dentist. The doctor diagnosed an infection and recommended a double root canal then prescribed antibiotics. The staff was then very helpful in forwarding my x-rays to my regular dentist and the endodontist who will perform the root canal. This is a particularly busy time for me so the care and efficiency of Sahara Dental is doubly appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I went into Sahara dental on a Sunday, super scared and afraid of swelling that was happening in my lower left jaw. They were able to help me first thing in the morning and their entire staff was so friendly and accommodating. This may be the best dental service I have ever had, and thankfully they were able to take care of an abscess in my wisdom tooth ASAP. Feeling so much better and so grateful for their care. Five stars in highly recommend them ❤️ I will be making this place my go to.

Fantastic experience: Had my personal assistant change review based of my experience . When I first went I was unhappy because I was not satisfied with the fact I could not have it removed that day because of my swelling . They charged a reasonable fee for X-rays and told me to come back in a couple days . Negative experience: Zara, the administrative staff member at this location, is so rude that I've decided not to attend this location anymore. I called earlier today about a teeth whitening appointment, and after explaining to her that I do have a little tooth sensitivity she quickly dismissed the option of teeth whitening altogether. It confused me that she never mentioned being able to speak with my dentist about this to determine a game plan - it was just suddenly, "no". I asked her if she has any recommendations for alternative teeth whitening (sometimes dentistries have their own out-of-office lines, or certain toothpastes they recommend, etc.). She rudely said, "I'm not a dentist so I can't answer that for you." I'm sick of people being rude and disrespectful. Leave your job if it's that depressing for you that you can't maintain a friendly phone conversation with someone for 3 minutes.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to the dentist in a while and was quite nervous as I knew I needed extensive dental work. The staff was wonderful, and Dr. Saif Naji explained all the work that would need to be done and made me feel at ease. Last week was the first round of dental work, everything went smoothly and was pain free as Dr. Naji is a genius at numbing! He has a very kind way and a gentle hand. I cannot say enough about this dental office. I actually look forward to the other procedures that I will need to bring my teeth back to good health. Thank you to the staff - always a lovely smile to greet me - and thank you Dr. Naji - you have a patient for life and I would not hesitate to refer people in need of dental work to you. The best dental experience I have ever had. Five years have passed and, once again, the doctor and assistants and office staff have come to my rescue. He has brought his patient centered approach to the practice from the time you walk in the door to the time you leave with a smile. I have seen Dr. Bender, a more recent partner in the practice, for an emergency dental issue on a Saturday which was resolved within 2 hours of my calling.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this dental office. They called me multiple times throughout my workday and messed up my appointment times on numerous confirmation texts. I went in for a mouthguard fitting which I was told went well. However, when I went in for my follow up the dentist I had seen was not in and I was given the wrong information regarding the mouthguard I had purchased. I had left work early to attend this appointment and was told I would have to do so again to see the dentist I had been working with originally (which was entirely a scheduling issue on their end). I had to leave work early another day to see the dentist I had been working with and informed them that the mouthguard I had received did not fit correctly. They disregarded my concerns and told me it was fine. They did nothing to resolve the issue and I now have an ill-fitting mouthguard that cost me $600

Fantastic experience: I visited Sahara because a front bridge over three teeth I had was in need of renewing. I had never been there before. Dr Bender was excellent from start to finish, calm and knowledgeable. Now I have my new bridge over four old teeth at a really good price, finished in two sittings. I have a new dentist now and don’t feel nervous about going to see him at all.

Fantastic experience: 7 out of 5 stars! LIFE SAVERS!! I called in a panic with tooth pain nearly 24 hours before an international trip, and less than 4 hours later, I walked out of Sahara Dental with that pain being a distant memory. Everyone from the front office staff to the hygienist to the doctor was friendly and helpful. They also all explained everything to me very clearly along the way. I cannot express how relieved I am. In my stress, I managed to forget the names of those who helped me - regrettably, as I would like to praise them. To the team from Sunday July 10 - thank you so much. You are great at what you do!

Fantastic experience: I needed emergency dental work done back in February 2022 through June in the form of dental crowns. Dr. Naji was able to see me immediately. Throughout the entire process, Dr. Naji and the entire office at Sahara Dental were wonderful to work with and made the process so much easier for me. Dr. Naji is incredibly knowledgeable and explained to me what he was doing at each step, so I felt completely at ease. I also briefly worked with Dr. Bender who was also fantastic to work with. I had to travel internationally throughout the process and even from a different country, Dr. Bender was able to advise me over the phone. Fantastic experience: AMAZINGGG! I was suffering extreme pain late Saturday evening & knew it was my wisdom tooth that needed to come out. At 4am I was up searching for an office that was open on Sunday’s because the pain was unbearable! Thank goodness I came across Sahara dental, not only did they get me in immediately on a Sunday but the staff was friendly, office was clean, & Dr Bender was nice, friendly, efficient & HEAVEN SENT! Negative experience: My daughter had service performed in January - she paid in full at the time of service. A few days later we processed the claim with Delta Dental - who in turn paid the Dentist in less than two weeks. Now we are due a refund for over payment - Over $ 1000. We have been promised payment in February - we have had numerous follow up calls in March. We are now in Mid -April with still NO resolution. So for me the marketing claims on their website about taking care of billing issues is very misleading. The billing department is disconnected with the dentist office - not sure if this is by design or not.

Negative experience: The whole experience was very bizarre for a dentist office. While there are subtle red flags, my main concern was that they told me I needed Xrays which I said ok to as I've had braces and also have never had my wisdom teeth pulled so I like to make sure everything is good from time to time. After the dentist looks for 2 seconds they said I had a cavity and they could start working on it right away and recommended I do it soon so it doesn't get worse. Keep in mind I have never had a cavity in my life and had been to another dentist in a different state approximately 1 month before this with no concerns. I told them I wasn't sure this was accurate and the dentist immediately became standoffish saying I was wrong and acting like I had broke his ego. After leaving this dentist, I went to get a second opinion elsewhere and my new dentist told me there was absolutely no sign of cavity and that my belief was right. Not only is it outright dangerous to recommend a medical procedure that is not needed, but it is also a scam monetarily as well. Please do not be tempted to go here because of the "reviews" as after scrolling through more in depth, they are obviously fake as most reviewers only have 1 review. Please if you're looking to take your dental hygiene seriously, I recommend seeking elsewhere.

Negative experience: Will not be returning, consider somewhere else for your routine dental care. I arrived early to fill my paperwork and sort everything which was fine. At 3:00pm, I had to wait 15 minutes to get into my room (not a big deal). I'm welcomed nicely and sit and am waiting another 15 minutes for them to get organized and "train" the new dental assistant. Very disorganized. When I first do the xrays, the assistant uploads my pictures to the wrong patient as she tries to find out why she cant see the x-rays under my profile! So I do X-rays and at first, they are not correctly positioned and the device pushes so hard into the roof of my mouth. At one point, the assistant has me hold up the x-ray machine when she steps out to click the X-ray switch. Also, since when did dental cleanings begin with a polish? The assistant gets polish flying all over on my face and asks me to hold the suction device because there is no place for it to be held. No mouthwash, fluoride or floss was offered (Insurance will be hearing about this). The dentist comes in, no introduction, no welcome, no questions about any dental concerns, or feedback on my x-rays and teeth health. She then proceeds to do the high pressure water cleaning that is so painful and feels like my teeth are being shaved down in such a rush and quickly does tarter removal, drops instruments, and leaves. No feedback on teeth or anything. So unprofessional and incomplete and my gums are left bleeding. Do not come here for routine work, disappointing and unimpressed.

Fantastic experience: Sahara dental has been great, I am a patient at the Brookline location & have had very bad past experiences with other dentist offices. Dr. David is always a pleasure and makes sure your comfortable and is very experienced. Also, the women that work the front desk, Blessing and Airia are absolutely amazing. Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. I went in for an emergency appointment due to a tooth ache on a Saturday. They looked at it for two seconds and said I needed a root canal. I thought they would do it right then and there considering it was an emergency appointment, but no, so we scheduled an appointment to get it done for that following Wednesday (literally 4 days away). Fast forward to Wednesday at the time of my appointment and they claim that they need to reschedule my appointment because they supposedly sent me a text to confirm my appointment and I never responded. They had “been trying to reach me for days.” Flat out lie. I never received a call, text or an email despite me knowing that they had my correct contact info. They then changed their story to them not having my correct contact info, despite them having emailed me and called me in the past. Another lie. So because I never responded to a confirmation text that they never sent, I then had to reschedule this “emergency” root canal for another day an entire week away. What’s the point of an appointment if it’s not kept? If I wasn’t going to be able to make the appointment, wouldn’t I have just called and told them that? There was only 4 days between making the appointment and the actual appointment. Seems a bit absurd that I would have to confirm that I’m coming to my appointment during that time. Plus the fact that they’re just straight up liars about not having my contact information. Do. Not. Go. Here.

Fantastic experience: Love Sahara Dental! Super friendly and professional staff, a very welcoming and clean practice. I recently had my wisdom teeth extracted, the procedure was surprisingly fast. I guess my teeth were in a hurry (<--that's a joke.) But seriously the doctors are fantastic, talk you through everything, and make sure you are as comfortable as possible. I'll be returning regularly, and bring my kid in when he is done teething.

Negative experience: Though the front desk staff is always so nice and welcoming, my problem was with my actual service. I came in to get a normal cleaning and that was absolutely the worse and most painful experience I’ve ever had. The dental assistant literally scraped my teeth so many time where my gums were bleeding, and then proceeded to say that happens when you don’t floss? I’ve never in my life had a dentist continuously scrape my teeth so aggressively. In addition to that she had the suction tube almost down my throat which was very uncomfortable. Overall there will never be next time I will definitely not return and she should be more trained or just not work there.

Fantastic experience: Up until Sahara Dental, I hated going to the dentist. Each time I go here I get a little less anxious about the next time. Dr David addresses every single one of my concerns, even the ones that are seemingly irrational. Never thought I’d give 5 stars to a dental office, but these were definitely earned. Fantastic experience: Dr.Naji was the best hands down!! . I had an extraction done , it was so quickly done I did not feel a thing ! Fantastic experience: I pulled out 3 wisdom teeth here, two of which were completely impacted. The doctors are very skilled and the nurses are very patient. When they knew that I did not have dental insurance, they applied for a 15% discount for me.

Fantastic experience: We moved to Boston area recently, and have visited Sahara Dental for my Son's progress on wisdom tooth removed in another state. Customer service is very good, and Dr.Amitha Agarwal has examined very well and we definitely recommend this place. Especially for people need appointments over weekends as they open 7 days a week.

Negative experience: I am new to Boston and chose this place based on the positive google reviews. PLEASE DON'T MAKE THIS MISTAKE. My experience here was ABSOLUTE TORTURE. I literally came home crying after what was a 1.5 hour long regular checkup and cleaning. The x-ray technician took way to long at each uncomfortable position. I also got hurt in a couple of places (which is typical for some, but I have had much better dental x ray technicians with no issues). In the end she said we didn't get great pictures but I'll explain it to the doctor (probably that I have a small mouth). She was really nice though and apologized often, but I would rather go to another person who has much more experience directing the patient and getting it done swiftly. The cleaning person/doctor? who came in next WAS EVEN MORE HORRIBLE. Right off the bat he started selling me Invisalign. Over the years I have done my research and have also had many consultations with different dentists before. I can identify an annoying salesman pitch from a recommendation when I hear one. *All the problems (I just had sensitivity in one tooth) and future problems will only go away with invisalign*. When I asked for other options, there were none. After all the selling they were going to send me away without even the scheduled cleaning. I can maybe leave this mismanagement out, as a benefit of doubt. I now wish I didn't point it out. The cleaning that followed was HARSH QUICK RANDOM SPOT CLEANS which shook me so much that I ended up in tears from pain, frustration and horror by the time I reached my car. It lasted probably just 3-5 mins. I was scared I would get poked in my tongue or gums. There was also no flossing or tooth-by-tooth cleaning, as I have had in the past. Cherry on the cake was the person had a strong BODY ODOR. Again, overall nothing I have ever experienced before at any dentists. The machines were all OK but you have to get up and move to the sink to rinse your mouth, which was also my first. I am sure many of you will be able to relate to these experiences and may benefit from this review. That's my only reason for taking out the time to write this out, i.e. 'To save you from torture'. I feel for other doctors and technicians who may work there. My review is only for the two I interacted with. It seems like a small family owned business so I feel bad hurting their business, but I can either think about them or you. If there is an owner to this business hopefully you will train/hire better people.

Fantastic experience: I chose Sahara Dental as my first dental experience in the US based on the high rate here and it's actually wonderful. All the staff are nice and skilled. They give you a thorough examination and explain the status of your oral cavity and what are need to do. There is a priority score of each item in your treatment list so you can know which is necessary and which is optional. They also discuss with you about your dental insurance to let you get the best treatment with less cost. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: My visit was nice and easy, Dr Naji is a very pleasant person, the clinic was very clean and well organised so were the staff who were very professional and attentive, I would recommend Sahara to everyone I know and it is my destination for any other procedure in the future. My 2nd Visit with Dr. David was amazing, he removed my wisdom tooth and it felt like nothing, he was very informative and covered all bases. I am really grateful for both Drs as they were fantastic.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. I went to them with a dental emergency and they told me I needed a root canal. They referred me to their Watertown location for the root canal and then called me and cancelled my appointment 2 days before my appointment and said they had no dentist any longer to do the root canal and believed they wouldn’t for months. No referral, no suggestions just cancelling all their patients appointments like we don’t matter. I am so appalled by this. Someone in pain in need of a root canal and they leave you untreated without any solution. Disgusting!

Positive experience: I love this place! Not only is my name similar, it's also located on the street of my last name! A match made in Heaven! Been here twice so far, each visit warm welcoming and friendly staff. I had an extraction and a filling done in the same day, minimal to no pain whatsoever afterwards!
