Fantastic experience: I was looking for a new dentist in Kennesaw and this was one of the first ones I found with great reviews. My appointment was today, and they took all the X-rays, did a thorough exam with Doctor A, and Elizabeth was my hygienist and was awesome. They found a few early cavities they want to fill and I already have an appointment next week. I highly recommend if looking for a dentist in the area!

Fantastic experience: I was in town visiting from nyc and experiencing a dental emergency. I have never had any issues with my teeth and was frightened, and in so much pain. Dr Akbar and her staff were kind, gentle and so helpful. I needed to see a specialist, and she got me in that same day with her colleague Dr Suresh. She called herself to make sure they could get me in, and it made the biggest difference in my treatment.

Fantastic experience: RA Dental Studios has always been very helpful, not only in teeth cleanings and other related procedures, but also in scheduling and making sure you know when your appointment is! They have always been understanding when needing to reschedule and they are always on time! They are very understanding when it comes to any questions or concerns!

Negative experience: Got a root canal in 2019. Have spent 6 years seeing professional after professional to find out what RA dental botched. A simple root canal turned into a hairline fracture that went to my sinus cavity which turned into bone decay, which turned into pain for the entirety of my entire 20’s…. I am $18,000 + deep in fixing the damage RA dental gave me, over 6 years ago. To this day, they have ruined my life and my youth and I am still in between procedures to fix and repair, the damage they caused. Two intensive and expensive bone grafts. Surgeries, and another surgery this upcoming year. All, to fix what they did in one afternoon. I fortunately, now have a competent team of four professional, fantastic doctors trying to fix exactly what RA dental did to me. After the botched procedure that robbed me; I Paid for services in which I never got (a permanent). Spent all last year asking for someone to call me. It never happened. However The services I did get from RA Dental, broke in less than a year and left more damage than I had before I even went in. Save your money and save your time and find a dentist that’s competent or at least half way decent. My advice to new clients would be to run. I can’t emphasize enough the poor service and procedures they do. Don’t walk, RUN From this place is what I have said for over six years. They almost ruined me, without a worry, concern or reimbursement. They are horrible. Remember even the lowest scoring doctor in their class still becomes a doctor…. In this case, a “dentist.” I would highly encourage anyone to find care or services else where and discourage this place at all cost. Run, as fast as you can from here. I am almost $20k deep into fixing a botched simple procedure, six years ago. It wrecked my youth, and robbed me of my savings, and I was in pain physically for years and ashamed visually for almost a decade. They almost ruined my entire life.

Fantastic experience: Dr Akbar was my dentist over 20 years ago before I moved away from Marietta. I recently moved back to the area and was very happy to find Dr Akbar again. I had an exam and cleaning scheduled. Some cavities were identified and Dr Akbar was able to do some of the fillings at the same appointment. I came back the next day for the rest. Conscious sedation was greatly appreciated! The entire staff was fantastic. The billing was explained to me - no surprises. I highly recommend RA Dental Studio!

Fantastic experience: The BEST service and care you can find in dentistry. I used to put off going to the dentist because of the terrible experiences that I’ve had in the past. I have been searching for an experience like this for my entire life and I finally have peace when I go to see the dentist. Dr. Akbar and her team are truly nothing short of incredible. They are attentive to my sensitivities and take the time to thoroughly explain everything and make sure that you are comfortable and not in any sort of pain. They even follow up after a procedure to make sure you are doing well and don’t need any additional care. I’ve had two crowns now and they were painless and the work is FLAWLESS

Negative experience: Received a text message informing me of an upcoming appointment. replied to the text that I did not make an appointment and the response I received was that “it is covered 100% with your insurance “. I replied that I would be there the following afternoon. Today, as we were wrapping up the cleaning I was told that I needed an antibiotic to be applied to my gums and would be $82. No problem not a big deal. Everyone needs good gums. Upon checking out however the receptionist was like a used car salesman. I let her know that I did not want to schedule an appointment for the procedures they said I needed , of which totaled to somewhere in the neighborhood of $3-5k. She then started to give me attitude and let me know that the balance of my insurance remaining for the year was a little over $900. She stated that my last visit the deep cleaning was $1600! I paid over $400 out of pocket. That’s after she supposedly gave me a $300 discount. Meaning $1100 of my yearly allowance was utilized for a cleaning. That’s insane. To top it off, the total owed for this visit then went from the $82 to $170 -> $227. I’m sorry but that’s what you call a scam. I asked her if she felt any sense of it being unethical. Will not be going back needlessly to say. Unfortunately I had a pleasant experience and conversation with the hygienist and the Dr. My main issue stems from the front desk and the lack of trust that was developed as a result.

Fantastic experience: Dr Akbar has been our family dentist for over 25 years and we highly recommend her. She has high standards and we have always been happy with her care.

Negative experience: Disappointed & Dishonest I started as a patient with Dr, Akbar in September of 2024. I needed some work done and she did a good job with what was needed (multiple crowns and fillings were completed and the work done was of good quality). However, when I came back for my 6 month cleaning in March her and her team pushed for an additional 6 crowns to be placed. She also told my husband, who never had a cavity in his life, he should consider a root canal on his front teeth which currently has a crown due to a chip in his younger years. This would be unnecessary at this time. Her eagerness to do work set off a red flag for myself and my husband – I decided to have a second opinion on my teeth and scheduled an appointment with another dentist. They reviewed my Xrays and confirmed I did not need 6 additional crowns at this time. The dental assistant at Dr. Akbars office stated if I did not have the work done soon I would need a root canal. All that being said my feedback for Dr. Akbar and her staff would be to take a look at her integrity as a doctor and not take advantage of her patients. I think her staff is also complacent in dishonest practices. I write this review as a warning – if you are questioning work to be done at this office – I would highly recommend you get a second opinion, so you don’t have unnecessary work.

Negative experience: PREDATORY PRACTICES !Please be careful of this place. I went in for 3 extractions and signed for three extractions at 1100. Two wisdom and a molar , I got laughing gas and my Fiance was in the room . Dr akbar waited until my Fiance left and I was given laughing gas to ask about another molar being taken out on the opposite side . I never wanted that tooth taken out . We spoken about it the WEEK prior and I told her I wanted to save the tooth. I guess she decided on her own to take it . It was an extra 427 dollars to extract a tooth I DIDNT ASK TO BE TAKEN. I’ve reached out to my legal team to see what can be done about this as I am devastated that I had a molar extracted when I asked for it not to be a week prior . It was a predatory move to wait until everyone was out of the room and “ask” me if it was okay to take the tooth. I had laughing gas and was numb , I had no idea what she was saying . Plus it’s not how things are done there, so I KNOW I was preyed on . I asked about sedation , and immediately someone from the front came and gave me the new price - extra 300 for full sedation . Why didn’t that happen for this extra tooth? Either way they have camera in their rooms so I’ll find out . But PLEASE BEWARE!!!!

I wrote my previous review a couple years ago and everything I said still stands. Dr. Akbar and her staff are so warm and knowledgeable. I ask a lot of questions and can be quite dramatic when it comes to needles but they are always so patience and reassuring through the entire process. My most recent procedure gave me a smile, I love which is something I’ve never said about my smile. I can’t say enough great things about the place!

Each dental hygienist, as well as the dentist, are so gentle with my teeth so I never feel anxious going in. This office reminds me so much of my dental office I went to growing up bc I feel so at home. If you are looking for people who genuinely care and are super kind, make sure you visit RA I am moving states, but I am going to miss them so much, and will send all my Georgia friends there!
