Negative experience: I changed the rating from 5 to 1 due to an unhappy incident. My wife experienced pain after her treatment, and despite being told to return this Thursday, we were informed upon arrival that the appointment was actually next Thursday. The miscommunication was very disappointing, especially given her ongoing pain, and we decided to transfer her care to a different doctor.

Fantastic experience: 6 month later update: I wrote the original review on my first visit without any work being done. Ive since been back several times. Im so happy with this place. Lydia is the most pleasant and efficient hygienist Ive ever met. Dr. Wright has been confidently and easily getting my teeth back in shape. Everyone here is very friendly and goes above and beyond. I finally feel comfortable continuing treatments and cleanings with one office as they have checked all my boxes for that need! I walked in and it seemed like it would be busy but I was called back almost immediately. The dental tech was very kind, thorough, efficient and put me at ease. Dr Wright was amazing as well and had a very soothing demeanor. I came here for a 2nd opinion from another office 2 months previous and I am so glad I did. My plan here is much more simple and cost efficient than the other place I tried. I felt much more comfortable and that they weren't about to do unnecessary work like the other place I went to. I will be getting all my work done at Family Dental Care of champaign now!

Fantastic experience: I was referred for a root canal. I was seen right away. The staff was friendly and were able to schedule me for the Root canal within a few days.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment with this dental office and even received a text message confirming that my appointment was scheduled. I took time out of my day to go to the clinic, only to find out that they had canceled my appointment — without bothering to let me know! It’s completely unacceptable to confirm an appointment and then cancel it. This shows a total lack of organization and respect for people’s time. I will definitely not be coming back, and I do not recommend this place to anyone who values professionalism or basic communication.

Negative experience: My appointment for a regular cleaning lasted 3 hours and 15 minutes. I was scheduled for 10:30 for a regular cleaning, and I didn't see the dentist until 1:30 PM. I had to take extra time off work because of this. The extreme amount of waiting I had to do was very frustrating. That said, they have a lot of high-tech equipment and can monitor teeth and gum health to a higher level than what I have experienced before. I will be returning for a 6-month visit to see if they take over 3 hours every time, or if I was just unlucky. If you value your time, go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: Originally went to them for a dental emergency and I stayed as a patient. Staff is kind and accommodating. Recently had a lengthy appointment and they checked to make sure I was okay and comfortable throughout. I’m much happier with my smile because of the work they did.

Positive experience: My dr is great but my teeth have not sealed still and I have had dentures before something isn't right . Dr has been very nice but at this point they need to start over its been months of trying ..I couldn't ask for a nicer dr. But something isn't right ive tracked a ton over an hour each time

Negative experience: I am writing to concur with Heather Broome's assessment of the services at this office, specifically regarding the practice of treatment refusal. I was explicitly refused a standard dental cleaning because I declined the recommended, and in my opinion, overpriced, additional treatment plans. Furthermore, I was quoted a price of nearly $3,000 for a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing), a cost that is significantly higher than any I have encountered in my past experience. This business model, which appears to hold essential preventative care hostage to acceptance of expensive optional procedures, is unethical and, frankly, a scam.

Fantastic experience: This practice is amazing. I use to despise the Dentist, now I go regularly. The Dentists and staff are so thoughtful and friendly.

Fantastic experience: FDC of Champaign was efficient, professional and friendly. Very nice facility. The dentist who perfomed a tooth extraction.(Dr. J). Jae Ung Jung DMD and his dental assistant were excellent & completed the procedure with little discomfort. The front office staff upon arrival very friendly and the paperwork and insurance verification quickly performed. For those needing dental work, i do recommend Family Dental Care of Champaign. Competent dental services at reasonable costs are rare and i congratulate their practice for providing me with this experience. E.S.S. 9/29/25

Fantastic experience: They were very friendly and the assistant and Dr made me feel like they cared and would take good care of me …and they did! I had just gotten off work from working nights and was really sleepy and put the eye gel mask on and relaxed, and it was very soothing

Negative experience: It takes months to get an appointment. They pressure you into signing agreements for treatments which are not proven by research to be effective (and also are conveniently not covered by insurance). They do not know what a "regular dental cleaning" is. I tried to explain that I just wanted a regular cleaning, and the dentist was confused no matter how I explained it. So, they polished my teeth and charged me for it (instead of my insurance, as it was considered cosmetic). They charged me for services before I received them, including ~$400 of laser bacterial reduction treatment which both research and the dentist herself (and insurance of course) agreed is not necessary for me. Part of the treatment, which I changed my mind about after discussing with the dentist, was still charged to my card, and I have been attempting to get in contact with the office for 9 months to no avail. They agreed that they owe me the money and that I need to call their billing department to provide my address for a check to be mailed, but their billing department is impossible to get in contact with. If you try calling their number, you will never get in contact with anyone by dialing the 'billing' option. You can leave a voicemail for a call back, but they are not going to call back. If you call them and dial the option to make an appointment, you will easily get in contact with someone, but that person will either transfer you to their non-existent assistant or will claim to have their non-existent assistant call you later (Hint: neither will happen). I have repeatedly called them since December 2024 (it is now September 2025) and have yet to get in contact with anyone from a billing department. I assume that I will never get my account balance refunded. I cannot imagine a worse dental clinic. Family Dental Care of Champaign is only good for bogus treatments, incompetent dentists, and getting scammed out of your money. Please go absolutely anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Very professional and friendly staff all around. Hadn't been to the dentist in a while(too long) I was SUPER nervous and afraid because of previous past dental experiences but the staff and Doctor assurd me i was in good hands and they didn't lie. Very little to no pain when I got teeth extracted, Dr and assistant constantly asking me was if i was comfortable or was there pain. Highly recommend this office for any dental needs.

Fantastic experience: This dentist, staff & office literally changed my life, and gave me a second chance. After undergoing chemo that destroyed my teeth, I spent years trying to find dental care, and found a lot of judgment, denials, and had just about given up. Three years after last being able to smile with my mouth open, in constant pain, I found this office and not only did they accept my Medicare advantage plan, they have payment plans of all kinds, and are the kindest, most supportive, and most caring team of dental professionals I’ve encountered ANYWHERE. I am SO grateful to be a patient here, and can’t even believe I’m sitting here typing this and able to open my mouth in public again, and smile. Thank you so so much.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for a few years now and I've always had great service and care. Plus, I needed a new dentist and they made me feel welcomed and confident in their ability because it is always hard to find a new dentist. Definitely recommend this dental office! Also, my son now goes here and he loves it. The first few appointments are usually about the experience at the dentist and getting-to-know the people and equipment. Both dentists and the hygienists are great! Kids get a free token at the end for the toy machine, and, of course, the dental goodie bag!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this location for roughly two decades, and they recently have implemented some changes that I feel sets them apart from other dental offices. Comfort menu? Warm blankets? Soothing gel eye mask? YES PLEASE!! And not to mention Dr. Wright is always so helpful (and easy on the eyes! ) The staff have been great over the years, and I am loving the extras they now offer to their patients! Plus, I am so happy there has been less turnover with their staff! Kudos to you!!! Keep making these great improvements, and thank you for always doing a wonderful job on my family’s smiles!

Fantastic experience: The place is always clean and cozy. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and professional, especially Lydia who did not give up on trying to comfort my daughter— she kept her comfortable and worked with us without any hesitation, Dr. Jay who was very kind and all smiles, and was very supportive and the receptionist — i even had no chance to look at her ID, as she checked us in right away upon seeing us enter the clinic! Apparently she knew us already. We love Family Dental.

Fantastic experience: Everyone we met was very pleasant to speak to and well-informed. Anything they didn't know they were happy to look up. Double checked and confirmed everything with us. My three kids all said it was the best dentist visit they had ever had. My oldest is 18 and my youngest is 10. No pain after the basic cleaning.

Negative experience: I no longer trust this dental office. I had previously taken my daughters here once, and their mother brought them afterward. Today, I brought them in again and had a frustrating experience. On my first visit, the dentist tried to upsell me, which left a bad impression. This time, I was asked to fill out what turned out to be new patient registration forms. I found this odd since my daughters had been seen there before. I brought the forms back to the front desk, thinking there was a mistake—but they insisted this was correct. This raised some red flags. I questioned why we were filling out new patient paperwork again, especially since nothing was sent to us in advance. I understand confirming contact info or updating insurance, but this seemed excessive and unnecessary. They claimed it was a legal requirement, which I’ve since learned it is not. I left, canceled the appointments, and later called to express my concerns. I can’t help but wonder if this is about billing more to insurance companies. Regardless, I felt disrespected and uncomfortable. I’ll be finding a new dentist for my daughters.

He wants you to be comfortable and confident in the end result. He gave me back my smile!!! The staff are warm and welcoming. Automatically put me at ease. The dentures they created for me fit so well that I don't have to use adhesive even on bottom plate. I love how they were as excited as I was when I finally got them and these teeth look great as well as being able to eat again!! Thank you Thank you!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been quite afraid to go to the dentist because of past trauma but the team is so sensitive and caring about my comfort and ease. Dr. Wright has fixed a few of my dental issues previously and I have recommended him to friends and family. They go out of their way to be understanding and helpful to trust the care level. The price is fair and they helped me to find a way to pay for it also. High recommend!! 5/5 stars from me.

Fantastic experience: We had a issue when I first came to my appointment but they were so nice and able to quickly get it resolved. Fantastic experience: The staff at Family Dental Care of Champaign was AMAZING. So friendly, organized, knowledgeable, and happy to help. They made my 11 year old feel super comfortable during her ortho intake process. I cannot speak highly enough of this team!

Negative experience: I went there for couple of years. When I wanted to change my dentist I called them multiple times to have them send me my records. Every time they said they would send it but they didn’t. I would just avoid this place if I could if I were you. It usually felt like they had multiple patients at the same time as me with the same dentist. My treatments were interrupted multiple times because of this issue. One time I was forced to fill a tooth just because it was next to another tooth that was scheduled to be treated on the day. I was already in the chair with anesthesia medication in my gum and the secretary came with paperwork for the second tooth to sign. Just horrible. Another time I had to pay for my 6 month cleaning although it was covered by my insurance. My insurance cap was met for the year and I had to pay out of pocket instead. They only had to postpone the cleaning for couple of weeks so that my insurance cover it. When I told the front desk she just shrugged it off. Not even sorry no compensation whatsoever!

Negative experience: I arrived around 7 minutes late to my appointment and was refused service because my doctor was “booked for the day”. Despite being present before the 9 minute grace period allowed I was asked to reschedule my appointment for two months in advance, because I was 7 minutes late. My dissatisfaction is from the lack of communication on late policies,unprofessionalism in being “booked” during a time where I was scheduled to be serviced, and inability to try and provide alternative solutions

Fantastic experience: I have had so many bad experiences in the past with dentist and tend to avoid at all cost. But when I came here I was welcomed and was put at ease with all the work that needed to be done. They were able to take care of two dental emergencies I was having at the time, didn’t make me feel like I was being judged, and took such good care of me! The best dental experience I’ve ever had!

Fantastic experience: My first major visit at family dental i met with Dr. Jae Ung Jung. I communicated in the apt notes that I had previous trauma with other local dentist offices. Dr. Jae Ung Jung was very patient throughout the process of two extractions let me take breaks and was very attentive. At the end of the appointment I didn’t realize both teeth had been pulled, he was that gentle! I will be a returning patient, and recommend Dr. Jae Ung Jung at family dental to everyone!

Fantastic experience: I have had bad experiences with some dentists offices before but they went above and beyond to make sure I was Comfortable. They told me every step they were taking before they started or moved on to the next task they had to do to check my teeth out, even gave me breaks when they noticed I was Having a hard time and gave me a game plan on how they were going to fix my teeth. They definitely will be recommended by me to anyone who asks me for recommendation on a dentist visit.

Fantastic experience: Maddie made me feel so comfortable! I was told I needed a bunch of work and root canal and they were very thorough and I don’t need any work or a root canal. I didn’t think I did. Made me feel lots better! Everyone was so kind! Dr Wright even fixed a couple issues I told my last dentist about and the other dentist said I had to deal with. I am actually excited to go back!

Fantastic experience: I have never had such a positive experience with a dental office as I did here. The front desk ladies (Casey and Jami) are sure to put a smile on your face and answer any questions you may have. Maddy was so thorough with my cleaning and was happy to give me options to use at home. Everyone in the office was so friendly and makes you feel as comfortable as possible. I have to give Dr. Wright a special shout out because I have been to many dentist offices, trying to focus on one single issue first and foremost. Every other office has tried to run me around and upsell things that I am not interested in, whereas Dr. Wright asked me what my main concerns were and was more than willing to tackle those before anything else. He listened, was educational, and personal. If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service—Although they were very busy—The exam was very thorough with State of the Art equipment. I was shown where oversights were made by my prior dentist. They were very thorough and professional.and very nice as if they had known me for years instead of a day. I also felt confident because the waiting room was full which meant to me that they are pretty good at their jobs!

Fantastic experience: Lydia the hygienist works pretty fast. I didn’t have to wait the whole time. She didn’t talk too much about the sealant since I told her that I don’t have the budget for doing that. Dr wright is alway nice and responsible. I had experience with him doing crown and Invisalign.

But, they were absolutely wonderful and helped me finance the root canal & crown - I know they need to make money but I'm very grateful they helped me save my tooth. Thank you!!!

Negative experience: Never had such a terrible experience at a dentist ever in my life. The lady who cleaned my teeth had no clue what she was doing, didn’t even polish or floss them. I have permanent retainers and it’s almost impossible for me to floss in between them, so whenever I have them cleaned at other dentists, they always take care of that without any questions asked. The bigger lady at the front desk replied with “oh maybe your teeth weren’t very dirty”. On top of that I paid $340 which wasn’t even mentioned to me before. I’m not the one to complain about anything or write a bad review, but I’m actually so pissed

Fantastic experience: I strongly recommend Family Dental Care of Champaign. My dentist, Dr Alexander Wright and dental hygienist, Jessica Raddatz have provided me with long time care. I am very satisfied with current status of my teeth after using Invisalign and dental repairs. Both of them are great, always providing very polished results. And so are all dental assistants who have worked on my teeth. The staff are very friendly, courteous and helpful.

I am so glad I found this place, they made me feel very comfortable and talked me through everything they were doing. They were kind, understanding, and reassuring. Fantastic experience: I have never had as excellent and pain free experience as I had when I went to family dental care of champaign I am 68 and so when I tell you they are outstanding I know what I am talking about I had three fillings and to teeth pulled and went home with no pain and no bleeding the rest of the day you want a great dentist please see them.

I have recommended Family Dental Care of Champaign to friends and family before, and I will continue to recommend. They also accept care credit, which is helpful if you do not have dental insurance or if your insurance provider takes time to reimburse you.

The staff was very professional and patient, my hygenist did a wonderful job with my general cleaning and exam, and I was able to get back in for a visit with Dr. Uy to extract a cracked wisdom tooth and 2 fillings only 2 days later. The entire process felt as smooth as it could possibly be, which is a reflection on how much effort Dr. Uy and the rest of the staff puts in to helping their patients. Anyone thinking about getting any kind of dental care should strongly consider Family Dental Care of Champaign!

Fantastic experience: Coming to the dentist is always a nerve wrenching experience — from being nervous about the customer service, paperwork, x-rays, long treatment plan, and of course above all else, the bill. However, Brandi the dental hygienist took my x-rays very quickly and efficiently. The office does through diagnostics, evaluating full and in depth gum and tooth health, even an oral cancer screening. Brandi was very through, efficient and informative in her work. I saw Dentist Wright, and he was also very informative and nice. My cleaning was quick and painless. I walked in and out as a first time patient in about 1 hour and 30-45 minutes. I highly recommend coming here as a first time patient and continuing your dental care here!

Fantastic experience: 1st time at this place, the hygienist was wonderful and did a great job with xrays, cleaning my teeth with no discomfort, and explained everything perfectly. Dr. Uy was really nice and explained things very thoroughly with me. I'm definitely glad I found this place for our family.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't gone for my annual checkup in over a year and was nervous about my upcoming appointment. When I got there I was greeted promptly and in the dentist chair within 15 minutes. Stephania is a wonderful hygienist. She was very gentle and asked how I was feeling during my cleaning. She was knowledgeable, answered my questions and gave me good advice. Dr. Uy is fantastic. He agreed with Stephanie's recommendations and went over my x-rays with me. He explained everything clearly so I didn't leave with questions. I know this is lengthy but I want everyone to know that Family Dental Care of Champaign gets my highest recommendation!

Negative experience: After receiving multiple texts and voice-mails reminding me of my appointment, they gave my slot away and did not let me know. After showing up for my appointment and trying to figure out a solution, the receptionist was rude and unfeeling about my struggles to get there that morning. Would not recommend.

Negative experience: If I could give one star I would! I had wisdom teeth removal of all four one of which was impacted. Doctor didn’t send in script for pain medication when he said he did, and then the next day told the same lie. I called about four times because they all said it was filled in and the pharmacy said they hadn’t. Told my dentist who did my removal that over the counter was not working and I was still in pain. Horrible after care experience! Great in the beginning and once I paid them it seemed like patient care went out the window!

Fantastic experience: What an awesome group of professionals. Been around a lot of years and the best experience I've ever had at a dental office. Great atmosphere as well as professional. Dr. Uy, Kimberly and the one other young lady who did my scan were not only professional but pleasant to speak with and really spent time explaining things. The business office personnel were also very pleasant and respectful. Don't find this kind of service almost anywhere anymore. If you need any kind of dental work I work recommend them totally.

Fantastic experience: Doctor Uy is an utter professional. Beyond thankful that his team took such great care of my crown and fixed prior issues. They were extremely kind and friendly even on an early Saturday morning. My temporary crown was made an placed with great care as well!

Fantastic experience: I had Lydia as my dental hygienist and she was very thorough, professional, and super kind! After she cleaned my teeth and gave me a summary of everything going on, Dr. Uy came in and checked for anything serious. He was also very kind and professional, both of them coached me on how to continue taking good care of my teeth! Honestly I have never had a better experience at a dentist office, this place is filled with the nicest people in Champaign. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Dr Uy of family Ag, Dental Care of Champaign is the most kindest, gentlest caring Dentist I have ever met in my entire life and I'm 56 years old he listens to all of your questions he answers all of your questions. He doesn't rush you in anyway he is such a caring Dentist I would recommend him to anyone who wants a dentist that will listen to what you want and need and get You a dental treatment plan that will fit and suit your needs. I've had one Permanent tooth pulled At another dentist office once and it was the most painful experience I've ever had. I just had two teeth pulled from Dr.Uy And it was completely painless On day two I didn't even have to use Tylenol or anything for pain. Today is day three and it's almost completely healed. Such a wonderful experience

Fantastic experience: Was a new patient. Had Dr. Uy for my crown. Was genuinely impressed by their customer service. Can't remember last time I had this good of service at dentist office. Definitely recommend and I hope they continue maintain this standard for many years.

Fantastic experience: Stephanie and Dr Wright were awesome at explaining everything they were doing and going to do. It was a very pleasant experience for the first visit. Further visits were just as efficient and all of the employees are extremely nice to work with as is Dr. Wright.

Fantastic experience: I was so panicked to get the extraction done. But, the dr. Alexandra and the team was very helpful. I usually don’t write any reviews. But, trust me it’s very affordable and they do it without any pain and make you feel comfortable.

Negative experience: Appt time was 2pm. Was there for 4 hours until they finally got the tooth extracted. Was stabbed twice in the throat when first dentist was trying to remove tooth. Worst dental experience ever!! And I’ve had plenty of teeth removed in my life! Felt like whole visit was them trying to talk me into spending incessant money on dental work rather then addressing what I was there for and getting it done. The whole experience felt disorganized and like the one dentist was inexperienced. The only good part of my visit was the dental hygienist who was by my side the majority of the visit she was very nice and helpful! AND-they were supposed to follow up with a phone call the next day to see how I was doing and I never heard anything from them!!

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist isn't generally a trip one looks forward to. However, the care team at Family Dental Care of Champaign were gentle, patient, attentive, and affirming, ensured pronouns and sensory needs were honored, and took the time to make and explain the care plan. I don't look forward to more dental work, but I do look forward to visiting again when the time comes. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Awesome service. They got me in right away for emergency dental care. I don't have insurance, but their prices are super affordable. Hellen, Doctor Gregory Uy, and the rest of the Family dental team are awesome and made this whole experience comfortable and easy!
