Fantastic experience: Great experience as a first timer. I recently moved into the area and I was overdue for a cleaning, exam, & x-rays. I’ve also had some other issues - absorption. The Ocean View office offers high quality dental care with state of the art equipment. Staff and Dr. Sean Mercer were exceptional. Jana, dental hygienist, did a deep cleaning. She was experienced (no pain) and informative -giving me best practices on how I could better care for my teeth. She was amazing. I was impressed with the entire dental team & organization. Even though my insurance, Delta Dental, did not cover all of the cost, it was well worth the additional out of pocket cost. I would highly recommend Mercer & Sydell.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience with the entire team at Mercer Sydell. I needed an emergency fix to a temporary crown while we were in Ocean View. I was able to make a same day appointment, the front desk team was very communicative and helpful, and the dental team of Dr Sean and his technician fixed my tooth quickly and without issue. Would highly recommend. I’d choose them for my dentist office if we lived here.

Fantastic experience: My first appointment with Mercer Sydell was for an annual oral exam and cleaning. I arrived a few minutes early, and was taken into the exam room on time. Samantha, the hygienist was was thorough and gentle throughout the procedures. Overall it was an excellent experience. My second appointment was for a permanent filling to replace a temporary one put in after a root canal procedure. I am very satisfied with the treatment I received. My third appointment was for an annual oral exam and cleaning. Jlanna, the hygienist. She did an excellent job, was thorough, and provided useful suggestions on how to improve my daily flossing. My 4th appointment was with Dr Adams to repair a filling I damaged while eating almonds. Dr Adams did an excellent job. I also appreciated his explamation of the options open to me and his willingness to listen to my wishes. IMHO Dr Adams is an excellent dentist. If an when I need dental work in the future, I plan to request Dr Adams.

Fantastic experience: At my last cleaning, my hygienist was updating my file and asked if I had taken my prophylactic antibiotic which I do prior to dental work. On this occasion I had not which caused me to panic as getting a new appointment could take weeks. My hygienist solved that problem by offering me the opportunity to return later in the day to fill a slot she had open. I did just that after taking my medication at home. The point to this story is to highlight that Mercer-Sydell staff are professional, thorough, and caring individuals who work with their patients to make their dental experience enjoyable. I highly recommend them.

Fantastic experience: This was my first visit at Mercer Sydell in Ocean View. The office is gorgeous, unlike any dental office I have visited. My hygienist, LuAnn was fantastic! She was hardworking, professional and a lot of fun. LuAnn worked for two hours non stop taking x-rays, mapping my teeth and performing the most thorough teeth cleaning I have ever experienced with beautiful results, she is AMAZING!!! Dr. Adam Sydell was professional, kind and terrific! All employees were efficient, friendly and personable. I feel very fortunate to have found this wonderful dental practice - thank you! Luann is still the best!!!

Negative experience: Went here for a check up, they didn’t even clean my teeth. Just looked at them and wrote down some notes. When I asked about a cleaning they said I had to wait 5 months for the first appointment available. What a joke of a business

Fantastic experience: I visited Mercer Sydell Dental in Ocean View today for a evaluation of a problem with an old crown. This was my first visit to this office, on a family member's recommendation- which turned out to be spot on. This is a modern office, with the latest dental technology and great feng-shui. The staff was welcoming, professional and efficient. Dr. Sydell was quite pleasant and took time to carefully review my case and explain the treatment options. Update 10/30/2024 Came back today to build up a crown after having root canal at Dr. Sydell's suggestion, and the visit could not have been better! Took me in right on schedule, Dr. Sydell was great and I was out in less than 1 hour. I could not be more pleased with Dr. Sydell, and the chairside and front-office staffs. Update 10/21/2025 My wife and I continue to be very pleased with this dental practice. We've both had 2 cleanings since my last update. Everyone here does a very good job with the important things in your mouth and all of the little things that make the experience as enjoyable as a visit o the dentist can possibly be :-) :-)

Fantastic experience: From start to finish was professional and knowledgeable. This was my first visit to this practice and everything was as expected from a reliable source how great Mercer and Sidel are. My ex rays, cleaning from Jan the hygienist and Dr Shawn Mercer were better than any Practice in the area. I base that on professional skills, staffing,equipment and bedside manners. I would recommend this Practice to many.

Fantastic experience: I had the best experience with my hygienist.She caught on right away the pain that I was in and immediately started the exam and notified the doctor. She said we can do the cleaning another time.She is a very caring person and always listens to my needs. She also follows up. The doctor was awesome as he expedited my visit to go to a specialist and explained to me what was going to happen. As far as the front desk they could use some grooming. I called very early the day of my appointment to let them know that I would not be able to have a cleaning that I had a very painful tooth. The front desk said to just come in for your normal cleaning, which I did not want cleaning, but I did show up. When the front desk went to call the specialist, they did not answer after three times and she told me I would have to call. I noticed she did not leave a message so while at the office I called the specialist and told him that the receptionist had called and no one answered and he said she should’ve left a message. I tried to get the receptionist to talk to him and she said you can do it. I was in a lot of pain and thought it would be better for the receptionist to talk to the specialist versus me. However, I took care of it.

Fantastic experience: My experience at Mercer Sydell was excellent! My hygienist provided the BEST and most thorough cleaning I have ever had! The office is very clean and calming, which provided an anxiety reducing experience! It was like a spa day for my teeth! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I went to the Ocean View office for my very first fillings ever!! I have high anxiety in the dentist chair BUT Dr Phillips and Remi was amazing. Dr Phillips softly explained the process thru the entire experience. She is so gentle I never felt any discomfort. Our shared stories of Saturday Night Live older episodes was awesome as she made me felt as of I was sharing stories with a friend. Remi was so professional and nice as well. Front desk is as always very nice and professional. Definitely recommend this office for any dental needs. Thanks again for a job well done.

Fantastic experience: Today, was my 4th visit and cleaning. They are consistently outstanding in professionalism, knowledge, and service! I actually love going to Mercer-Sydell! Jana is my hygienist and I can't say enough good things about her! She listens to you, offers the new topical flavor for your gums (it was pina colada today) and treats you with the utmost care. Dr. Andy did a final review of my gums and teeth. He is always very friendly, professional, and gentle. There is no reason to feel anything less than comfortable while under their care. Their staff is very organized, pleasant, and on the ball!

Fantastic experience: Today was another positive experience during my semi-annual check up. Kiersten checked me in promptly at 8:00 am, and Lu Ann immediately brought me back to the clinical space. I knew then the train would run on time for the remainder of day. Lu Ann was professional, fun, and efficient through out process. She introduced me to Dr. Phillips who was thorough in her exam and she provided her professional and education background prior to coming to the Oceanview office. She was great at her job and took time to explain the process. The check-out process was also efficient. Kiersten was so helpful and friendly. Top notch all the way around. Impressed once again

Fantastic experience: First time to this practice and I was impressed from the moment I walked through the door. I was in need of a tooth extraction. Nobody wants this but it was handled extremely well. Everyone was polite and I'm actually looking forward to making this my permanent dentist. Update, it is my permanent dentist and everyone has been first rate. Update, I needed a cap, the temporary fit perfectly and months later the permanent cap has been a very well done repair thanks to Dr. Phillips and assistants. Highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: Appointment went smoothly (thanks to well-qualified receptionist who accepted our apology for not bringing our dental plan card). After my wife and I went through through exams with x-rays and cleaning, we happily enrolled in their own dental plan, which turned our better than our Delta Dental plan. Both hygienists and dentists were pleasant and professionbal.

Fantastic experience: I had a stellar 1st visit as a new patient today. The front office staff, Dental Hygienist, Samantha, and Dr, Philips were all competent, gentle and very professional. I was with my previous dentist in NJ and my hygienist there for 25 years. Not easy shoes to fill! From the moment that I walked through their door I felt a sense of peace as I was greeted by Celeste the receptionist. Gina the hygienist was so heartwarming and professional that I didn’t want to get out of the chair when she had finished with me. Dr. Sean Mercer followed up and was great. I left the office a very happy boy at 69 years old.

Fantastic experience: I cracked a molar on a Sunday, called her office and left a message a few minutes after 8 AM on Monday. I Received a return call and by 1 o’clock I had a temporary crown. I was able to see Dr. Mercer, who was excellent. The dental assistant was very nice unexplained each step of the process and the front desk. Staff was super nice. I highly recommend Mercer Sydell!!

Fantastic experience: I am from AZ and had a dental implant procedure done the end of April. I am in the process of having it heal before the final implant. I woke up last week and realized the area was infected. I called Mercer Sydell to see if they are accepting new patients. They were able to see me in their office three hours later. I had my x-rays sent from AZ so they only had to take one x-ray to keep the billing down. I was given a prescription for an antibiotic and so far so good. Everyone I had contact with in the office was pleasant, professional and put me at ease. I especially want to mention the front office person who assisted me with the appointment, directions, and after hours situation. She is an angel.
