Fantastic experience: I absolutely love DeKalb dental group. I remain going to their office, even though we moved about 40 minutes away. The Dentist there is so lovely. I have never felt like I’m being financially taken advantage of or like a number. The listen to your input and take into consideration your lifestyle. The cleanings I get there are so thorough and wonderful. They are always gentle and I leave with the squeaky clean mouth on the planet in a timely fashion. I cannot recommend the office more.

Fantastic experience: I arrived at the wrong time for my appointment but they were able to fit me in with only a very brief wait. All personnel I encountered were friendly, professional and efficient. Sarah was my hygienist an as usual she did a great job, very careful, gentle and thorough. Dr. Pham was friendly and explained a problem and what needs to be done to fix it. Overall a god experience.

Negative experience: There are so many mistakes in the cost estimate. I’ve pointed them out twice and asked the lady to correct my estimate, but I still haven’t received an updated and accurate bill. I would like to be a patient, not an auditor.

Fantastic experience: I have the most anxiety when I go to the dental office. But I come to Dekalb Dental Group specifically for Dr Nguyen! Also, the entire team is great! I'm not sure of my dental assistants name, but she was awesome as well. At my most recent visit I didn’t even know the numbing happened. I am still shocked IT DIDN’T HURT. I was more anxious about getting the shot more than anything. During the numbing(my uncomfortable moments) she tapped my forehead which was a great distraction to calm me down… no one has ever done that lol! Thank you! Overall as much as I hate going to the dentist, I left feeling great!

Fantastic experience: Very friendly people! They discussed all my options and even gave me idea to do some of the procedures next year to maximize my insurance. We see how it all goes but so far I like this Dentist office. Just an update from my last post around July. They are doing amazing job, did a deep cleaning back in July which made my mouth feel so good and they gave a lot of great advice. Now I’m on my 3 month cleaning which I always like to do even if I have to pay out of my pocket because I think it’s worth it. They always tell me in advance if insurance will pay and if not urgent they will recommend waiting till beginning of next year! Keep up the amazing job

Negative experience: I wanted to go to the dentist, but unfortunately, it seems that they only care about money. I wasn’t even able to get a basic cleaning or have just one cavity treated, because I was told that their practice follows a different approach — essentially, you're forced to agree to all the treatments they recommend. If a patient can’t afford deep cleaning or crowns, they won’t be accepted as a patient. Where is the medical ethics in that? This information was given to me by the front desk staff — someone named Susan or something similar. Thankfully, in Saint Charles, dentists seem to treat their patients differently — like true healthcare professionals.

Went there yesterday after not going to a dentist for 5 years and they were very nice Taylor did a great job with cleaning, and did everything to make sure I was comfortable as someone who is autistic dentists can be unsettling for me but I was actually pretty calm there.

Fantastic experience: Over the years I've had wonderful care with DeKalb Dental Group and Dr. Nguyen. Especially after Monday night's worst toothache ever. I called Tuesday morning and they saw me within 2 hours. I walked in nervous and anxious, but left relieved and pain-free. Thank you Dr. Nguyen and the talented and caring dental assistant Kayla.

Fantastic experience: Most people don't think of going to the dentist as an enjoyable experience, but DeKalb Dental Group makes it as enjoyable as possible from check-in through check-out. Everyone is so friendly, but what really stuck out to me throughout my visit was the thoroughness displayed by the Dental Hygienist—Paula (I hope I spelled her name correctly)—and the Dentist, Dr. Pham. And while a thorough dental visit can yield some uncomfortable dental realities, they are very reassuring and will quickly create a care plan that works best for you and can be started immediately! 10/10 experience, and I appreciate DeKalb Dental Group a lot!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to DDG for three years now and have had nothing but great experiences. Dr. Pham is very skilled and chats with me about video games we’ve played (and will play, like Persona 5… right, Dr. Pham? ), Paola is an incredible hygienist and is super friendly and helpful with my endless questions, and the assistants and staff have always been welcoming and wonderful. It feels weird to say I look forward to my next visit (stay healthy, teeth, plzzzz ), but I know they’ll take care of me when the time comes.

Fantastic experience: Awesome dentist. I had gotten an all on 5 implant denture in Texas and no other dental office in Dekalb would work with me on it. Dr. Nguyen worked with my Texas dentist and ordered the tools to fix my problem. He goes above and beyond!! His office staff is also helpful and straight forward.

Fantastic experience: I am new to the area and had my first dental cleaning today with DeKalb Dental. My hygienist, Sarah, was absolutely amazing and very personable, gentle, and had a great bedside manner explaining everything she was going to do. They have very up to date technology such as x-rays and mouth scans. No more molds to make invisalign or retainers! My visit was painless, and as someone who has anxiety at the dentist, I left feeling calm.

Fantastic experience: Everybody was so nice, understanding and informative of my care, Kayla and Dr. P was the two I was working with for my mouth pain. I called them and they said I can come in almost immediately to get checked for the pain. Went in the next day and they did an exam on me and had an extraction done the same day (which I needed) Almost instant relief. I was lucky to try this office and will be going back to keep them as my dentist office.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pham and his team recently treated me for a nasty broken tooth and infection, then fitted me with a partial. I am very pleased with the care I received, which involved very little pain. The entire staff was extremely friendly, warm, and considerate, and I particularly want to acknowledge Dr. Pham's assistant Ellie, who provided me with a thorough running explanation of what was happening. Knowing the details really helped relieve my anxiety and gave me confidence in both the practitioners and the procedures. I very much appreciate how nice Ellie and everyone else was--it's not something I take for granted anymore. I can whole-heartedly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: On November 14th of 2022, I went to DeKalb Dental Group for the first time. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was professional and pleasant. My hygienist was Sara. I have been going to the dentist since I was three and I have lived all over the country. I am retired. All that to say that I have encountered a lot of hygienists. Sara gave me the best dental cleaning that I have ever had. She was thorough, detail oriented and definitely deserves this praise.

Fantastic experience: Have been going here my whole life and have always loved them. Great customer service and the techs always are super helpful and answer all my questions. I’ve been in and out of braces for half of my life (now 24) and had double corrective jaw surgery in 2019 and they have been there to support me through it all. They are always very gentle with my braces and my nerve sensitivity due to nerve damage from my surgery. I highly recommend this place to anyone! They truly care about their patients and want the best!

Fantastic experience: We were referred to Decalb Dental Group, by my 74 yr old fathers Dr., since he suffered a mini stroke a month prior to our visit, for extracting a broken tooth. I honestly have never delt with such a wonderful , caring and helpful staff ... Ever!!!! The ladies behind the dek, were so helpful and compassionate and patient with the paper work. And the Dentist extracted his tooth with no pain, and has healed perfectly AMAZING because of AMAZING people!!!

Fantastic experience: Our family has received dental services from 4 different dental practices within the last 3 years. We have received care from both smaller and larger corporate dental practices. DeKalb Dental Group is amazing! I have some metal hardware that has come unscrewed and is protruding through my gums. This is covered under Major medical insurance and not private dental insurance. We will soon be out of network with Northwestern and the soonest I can get into the oral surgeon will be December 31st! I was offered an appointment the day after Christmas, however I obviously cannot wait that long and they were able to squeeze me in within 2 hours the day before they were going to be closed for Christmas Eve and Christmas! My husband and I, and our 2 young children under 10, have canceled through Dekamore Dental, and we are booked for cleanings at the start of the new year. Our oral health is very important to us, and DeKalb Dental group is amazing!! We're looking forward to a long road ahead and a great experience with the whole team for many years to come!

Fantastic experience: I have been to a few dentists throughout my life and this place is definitely the best I’ve been to. I have never had anything less than amazing encounters with all of the staff. The ladies who work the front desk, the dental hygienists, and the main/head dentist are so nice and hospitable, I have always had great experiences at my appointments the past 4 or 5 years I have been going here. I love this place and recommend it to anyone, especially those who have anxiety about going to the dentist!

Negative experience: The worst experience I've ever had in my life at any type of health business in this country I have been to different dentist offices all over the country and a certain reception that does administrating work at the front desk as you walk in at this place has no type of customer care she was one of the most rudest persons I've ever dealt with at a business she talks to grown people like their little children no type of customer service just so rude it's unbelievable how they could have an employee like this representing them and talking to customers I wish I would have got her name but she spoke to me so rude she doesn't look any older than my grandchildren she has no respect she looks like she might be 30 wears glasses and black hair she is just rude and talks to people horribly no customer service at all is this company a corporation or privately owned I need to check on that

Fantastic experience: This has been my dental clinic for more than 20 years and I trust them entirely. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful and I have always been satisfied with their help. I can recommend them without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: UPDATE: I had a dental emergency this week when my bridge of 29 years finally fell out. They were able to get me in quickly when I explained the situation. From Susan explaining the costs of the treatment plan, to Kayla explaining everything they were doing, and Dr. Nguyen doing what he does best, the experience was relatively painless. With this 5 star rating I guess the total is now 10!!! Highly recommended practice with caring, honest, dependable people. Will never hesitate to contact them for any of my dental needs!!! Ever had a fear of going to the dentist? Put those aside when you go to the DeKalb Dental Group. Their entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. From the moment I stepped through the door until I walked back out I felt like my care and comfort were the most important thing to them. I would highly recommend their services if you need any dental work. I'm only giving 5 stars because I can't give more!

Fantastic experience: My dentist was kind and gentle. I need a lot of anesthesia and they had no problem accommodating me.

Negative experience: I hate coming here so much, I always leave unhappy and upset. If other options were available and easy I would leave in a heartbeat. I have the exact same insurance problem every time I walk in. You’d think after several visits and calls they’d get their ish together. Unfortunately communication is ALWAYS lacking on SEVERAL fronts. In the time that I have been here there has only been one or two dental assistants that have been kind, informative, and have offered helpful advice. As for Dr. Pham it would be a miracle if I ever heard more than 10 words from him during my visits. EDIT: I’m back with another terrible update! Can you believe after all the trouble I went through for them to realize that I have an account with them and they have my insurance (which took up my entire appointment) they contact me a month later only to tell me that they DON’T TAKE IT. I, just like anybody else, would not have gotten the work done if I knew I had to pay $900 OUT OF POCKET.

Fantastic experience: When I first arrive, I was greeted respectfully and checked me in smoothly. Water bottles openly available and did not wait much for the hygiene staff to take me to the operatory. X rays with an easy and cleaning was performed in a professional matter. Zero cavities and smooth cleaning. Keep up the good work Dekalb Dental.

Negative experience: Nguyen hit my nerve with the anesthesic and it felt like electricity went through my face. I went super pale and almost passed out. Thought it was a one off but then my boyfriend went in and same thing happened. He literally couldn't breathe after the shot was administered and also felt extremely faint. Very upsetting experience and extremely anxiety inducing. This has NEVER happened with any other dentist.

Fantastic experience: Excellent staff. My dentist listens to my concerns about my dental procedures. So kind also. Best dentist I've had in my 75 yrs. I highly recommend this awesome dental group. Top notch!

Negative experience: The dentists are good. Unfortunately, I have had negative experiences with the administrative staff. Their demeanor and customer service has been inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. I have expressed my concerns directly to the staff, but there has been no noticeable improvement. I will be taking my family to a different dentist.

Negative experience: I wish I could give zero star rating. Avoid at all costs. Not sure if different management has taken over but each visit has gotten more and more like a used car dealership, constantly trying to up-sell procedures insurance does not cover and I do not want! When I refused a deep cleaning and said just do the regular (I’d like a second opinion) they would not provide service at all! I left after 5-6 years being a client and will not return or recommend.

Fantastic experience: First time visiting Dekalb Dental Group for a general cleaning. Needed a few cavities filled unexpectedly and they were able to fit me in that day. Great group of people here, highly recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: The services I received at Dekalb Dental Group were phenomenal. From the front desk staff Susan, Amy, and Judy are very kind and courteous when checking in. Renee was awesome as she was concerned that she was hurting me as she scanned for my liners. Dr Nguyen was excellent in diagnosing me as a candidate for invisalign. Awesome group of people.

Negative experience: Very after many years as a patient, I have encountered too many problems with them to continue going. Aside from the upselling during appointments to get you to get more things that aren't covered by insurance, there was also repeated phone calls from them harassing my about getting invisalign treatment through them. These calls continued even after I had already started my treatment with a different dentist. The final straw was when I recently needed overnight retainers. My scans were taken and I was not contacted for over 3 weeks, despite my retainers being ready in a few days. It took several calls to them to finally have my call answered so I could find that out. Working at a dentist office, there is zero excuse for not knowing the importance of overnight retainers.

Fantastic experience: My first visit to DeKalb Dental and I’m impressed with the professional ethics and friendliness of every one there. I’ll start some procedures next week and have great confidence I’ll be satisfied with the results, staff, techs and Dr. Nguyen!

Fantastic experience: I always receive quality dental care here! The staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. They do their best to get you in when it is convenient and also for emergencies. Whenever I have a billing or ins. question they respond promptly or call with the info needed.

Can’t remember assistant’s name, but she was an outstanding support, friendly, knowledgeable and patient in answering I and my husband’s questions while walking me through the process. Also had my teeth cleaned by a beautiful dentist name Sarah a month later. She did a superb job. She explained the procedures while executing the process very well. I had a good 15 yrs of gunk on my teeth she had to fight with, but she did great, and was able to remove it all. My gums and teeth look and feel much better. I’m excited to have found Dekalb Dental. Fantastic experience: They treated me with sooo much passion and concern! They brought me blankets and all! When I was done they said “lemme see that smile” I felt my inner child leap with joy. They are so kind! Especially the dental assistants. I cannot remember her name And I feel horrible for it! She was so genuine and gentle. She explained everything she was doing in real time. Fantastic experience: The staff and dentist were great! The dentist took out my son's wisdom tooth when 3 other dentists examined my son's tooth and stated that they could not remove it. I had called 5 oral surgeons each of them told me that they could not perform the extraction until 4 months away.

Fantastic experience: The best dental experience I’ve had. I needed two fillings and was ready for a long and difficult visit. It was over in 15 minutes, and my teeth feel great. The dentist was very gentle and kind, everyone at the office was friendly and nice.

Fantastic experience: Jackie was my dental hygienist and she was amazing! Not only was she patient and sympathetic during the rougher parts of my cleaning (like the X-rays), she was also incredible with the instruments. I've been poked and scratched in previous cleanings when it came to the scraping part, but she did a great job; I wasn't hurt once. The front desk team was also very personable. This was my first time visit, but they made me feel like I've been seeing them for years.

Fantastic experience: This the first time in a few years that I have found a great place to take care of my dental issues. I came from a holistic doctor and never expected to find a good dentist, but I did. Please give this place a shot. Dr. Nguyen, is great, gentle, friendly and conservative. He found the issue with a tooth that I had been complaining about for years and he fixed it. Thank you!
