Fantastic experience: My daughter has been a patient for a couple years at this practice. Dr. Bowman is the best pediatric dentist in South Charlotte. Dr. Bowman is very knowledgeable. He is kind and caring. I am very happy with her dental care. I was excited when Dr. Bowman explained to me the practice offers orthodontics. My daughter starts her orthodontic treatment next month with Dr. Emily. It's amazing to be able to receive her dental care and orthodontic care in one place. All the staff here is amazing from the front desk staff to dental assistants. I recommend this practice to anyone in South Charlotte looking for a pediatric dentist for their children.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bowman was wonderful in listening to my concers about my child and giving me reassurance that we are on the right path but monitoring closely for the future. He made me feel listened to and respected as a parent. Also the nursing staff were wonderful and worked with my child to make them as comfortable with the since it was our first time. Couldn't have asked for a better 1st dentist appointment for my child.

Negative experience: I’m writing this review to document my daughter’s recent experience at this dental practice and the reason we will not be returning. At her initial appointment, the dentist and I had a clear and direct conversation: I did not want my child to receive a stainless-steel crown (silver cap). I specifically requested a white (zirconia crown) and the dentist confirmed that this would not be an issue. At the follow-up visit, before my daughter was taken back, I again confirmed this with the dental assistant as we went over what will be done. I was told that everything being used would be white/tooth-colored. Because my younger child also had an appointment, I was unable to accompany my older daughter during her procedure and trusted that the instructions we had already discussed & confirmed before she went back would be followed. Despite these conversations, my daughter was brought out with a stainless-steel crown. Only after the procedure was completed was I informed that our insurance does not cover zirconia crowns and that the paperwork I signed authorized the stainless-steel option. I will take responsibility for not reading the paperwork more thoroughly. I trusted the verbal treatment plan we had discussed and assumed the documents reflected what the dentist and assistant had agreed to…big mistake on my end…. I should’ve did my due diligence and thoroughly read before signing…. Had I been informed beforehand that zirconia was not covered, I would have paid out of pocket. The office did offer to remove the stainless-steel crown and replace it with a zirconia crown if I paid for it. I initially agreed, but considering the level of discomfort my daughter was in (which is normal after the procedure) and the fact that this situation could have been avoided with proper communication, I ultimately decided not to put her through another procedure & to withdraw my children from this practice. Although we will not be returning, outside of this situation, the staff is amazing with the children & I don’t have any other complaints. Clear communication is essential, especially when treating a child. While I acknowledge my part in not reviewing the forms closely, it is equally important that when a parent makes a specific request and the staff confirms it, those instructions are either honored or addressed before the procedure, not afterward. I hope this helps other parents understand the importance of reviewing what they sign, regardless of any verbal agreement, and I hope the practice improves transparency & communication moving forward.

I want to give a special shout-out to Courtney, who was the very first person to successfully get X-rays of my 10-year-old son. I highly recommend this office!

Dr Bowman was great he kept me updated the whole time while working on my son and also made sure he was comfortable throughout. His assistant was great as well making sure I knew everything that would be taking place during the procedure. Would recommend this office if you have children.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my two kids to Southpark pediatric dentistry for a couple of years now and it is always a great experience. Doctors, nurses and everyone here is so patient and kind to all the kids. Dr Bowman is really great and today Courtney was the absolute best!

Fantastic experience: Dr bowman was amazing. Instead of pulling my son teeth he put crowns on it to not give him a hard time. He didn’t force me to do anything. He was gentle during the procedure !!

Negative experience: I really wanted to love this place, but the lack of communication is unacceptable. My children were scheduled for appointments today (9/11) at 8:00am. I received multiple text reminders the day before, so we drove an hour to get there. We arrived at 7:55am and waited until 8:13am, only to find the office locked and the lights off. When I texted the number provided, I was told the office has been closed for construction since 9/10. There was no sign on the door. Why were patients not notified? My children ended up late to school with no excuse, and I wasted time and gas for an appointment that could have easily been rescheduled if the office had communicated properly. I was offered appointments at another location 40 minutes away (in the opposite direction) for later in the morning, but that doesn’t make up for the inconvenience. This experience shows that communication here is extremely poor, and that’s something I can’t overlook when it comes to my children’s care.

Fantastic experience: South Park Pediatric Dentistry is absolutely wonderful! The assistants are so gentle and patient, which makes such a difference when you have little ones. The front desk staff is always welcoming, friendly, and extremely helpful—they make everything so easy. Dr. Bowman is truly the cherry on top! He treats his patients with such care and kindness. My 5-year-old is very busy in the chair, but Dr. Bowman handled him with patience and ease. He really took the time to listen to my concerns and was able to provide an immediate referral, which gave me so much peace of mind. We drive over 30 minutes just to come here, and it’s completely worth it. My child will age out before we ever consider moving to another office. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: We have been going to SouthPark Pediatric dentistry for a while now and have always had great experiences. Recently we took our 6-year-old son to get sealants and we had an exceptional experience that I’d like to share. The dental hygienist was so welcoming. My son was very nervous, and she made sure he was comfortable before starting - she even paused to let him pick a new movie to watch on the ceiling before getting started. Once she started, he started getting very nervous and was shaking his feet. I got up quickly and walked over to hold his hands and calm him down, and Dr. Bowman immediately came over and talked to my son and let him hold his hands to squeeze them - my son quickly went from being scared to smiling as he tried to squeeze Dr. Bowman’s hands as hard as he could. Dr. Bowman stayed by his side, talking him through the entire procedure. I was so impressed that he would drop everything to come over during such a simple procedure, but this really goes to show that the staff at this office go above and beyond to prioritize the comfort of their patients (and their parents!) and to make sure that the kids are not afraid to go back to the dentist.

Fantastic experience: This was our son’s first visit to the dentist, and it was an exceptional experience. They had his name on a welcome sign to recognize his first visit upon arrival. Ms Vee had excellent patient care/bedside manner. She was very complimentary of my son and led with positivity and encouragement throughout the apt. Explained the tools used and the process so he could understand what was to come. Dr Kaitlyn was excellent, kind and educational. They gave my son a certificate for his first visit, a goodie bag and a balloon. My son during the appointment “I love the dentist”. 10/10 experience.

Negative experience: My daughter appt was canceled because I did not confirm her appt through text message which I never received, at that point a call should have been made! Not to just cancel an appt & the lady at the front desk said several text messages were sent which they were not because if there was I wouldn’t had been standing in front of her to check in for an appt. She didn’t even try to accommodate me or try to see if I can be seen TODAY Never in my life have I heard of an office canceling your appt due to no response through text message. Y’all have to do better with confirming appts and communication a call should always be made to confirm appts

Positive experience: Thank you for taking care of my kids. Just a friendly suggestion Dr. Bowman seems a bit too rough with the children. My son has gotten hurt each time he's been there. I hope he can be a little more gentle. For general they should keep the gloves on their hands clean. The purpose of wearing gloves is to prevent the spread of germs and to serve as a disinfecting barrier. If the gloves are not kept clean while touching a patient’s mouth, it could cause an infection or spread germs to the patient being treated. The facility, including bathrooms and floors, needs to be cleaned frequently. We were uncomfortable using the sink in your bathrooms because there was blood from previous patients all around some of it fresh, and some dried, as if from the day before.

Fantastic experience: The doctors are SO friendly and definitely understand how to work with a child. My neighbor recommended me here after seeing another dentist and we are so thankful for that! Quick to address dental emergencies and book us asap

Fantastic experience: MS V IS THE BEST. When I say this lady knows how to talk to kids / help them through things 100/10 While all of them are amazing, Ms V does stand out. She is a hype queen, helps kids with fear (and honestly this whole team does!), and she’s funny. The overall practice is fun too!

They make her feel like she’s part of the decisions being made, and not just having things done to her. They explain every step before they do it, and they are so kind and patient. They take the time to answer any questions I may have, and I’ve never felt rushed or dismissed. We recently moved an hour away, and we are STILL going to SouthPark Pediatric Dentistry because we love them that much. Totally worth the drive! 10/10 would recommend!

Negative experience: My kid been seen last few years at this location. The front office ladies are rude , we were here for some treatment and they made us wait not start procedure until 5% of money not deposited. We were waiting for the HSA card number from her dad. But not showing any courtesy and showing attitude is not while you work specially with kids.

Fantastic experience: I had a good experience at the office. The hygienist that worked on my children was very gentle, kind and showed good bedside manner. It was extremely busy and almost every station had a patient but both doctors and their assistants handled the pressure and chaos with ease and they ensured immediate sanitation and clean up. Fantastic experience: Great pediatric dentist practice. I've taken several children to this practice and the quality of care has been excellent. The staff is welcoming and very good with children. I had been to another pediatric dentist previously and they weren't even able to calm the child and take X-rays. Came here and they not only were able to take the X-rays, they did a filing. And of course the toy at the end of a visit is a real treat.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at this office. The front desk staff, hygienists, and dentists have been wonderful. My youngest daughter needed cavity filled and sealants placed. Anaya and Dr. Bowman were wonderful with her, efficient, and made sure that she was comfortable throughout the procedure. They were able to complete both procedures without any injected anesthetic—cold water and nitrous oxide gas (and some help from a movie playing on the ceiling) provided more than enough pain control. She left happy and comfortable. We will absolutely continue to return to this office for all our kids’ dental care and recommend this office to other families all the time.

Fantastic experience: This place is great. My kids love it. There’s TVs galore for the kids, very detailed work but at the same time you’re there for the appropriate amount of time to work through everything expeditiously. All the dentist are very friendly. Melanie is typically always taking care of my kids and she’s great. She is very patient and very good at getting the kids x-rays and cleaning. She talks them through everything.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with how Dr. Bowman was able to put our son at ease during a filling and a tooth extraction. Our six year old son did not show any discomfort and the procedure went by very quickly. Both Dr. Bowman and his assistant had a very kind and reassuring bedside manner that relaxed my son.

Fantastic experience: We recently visit for my son's dental appointment, he had two baby teeth that just went out falling out and was causing him some major discomfort this is fourth time that this has happened to him, I couldn't be happier with the experience. My son, who is autistic and experiences anxiety, was met with exceptional care and understanding. The staff went above and beyond to make him feel comfortable—special recognition to the extra team members who showed patience and kindness. Dr Bowman was incredibly helpful and professional, guiding us through each step with compassion and expertise. Despite my son not seeing this particular doctor before, he felt completely at ease. This team truly demonstrates what outstanding pediatric care should be!

Negative experience: I called emergency dental line 6 times over the weekend and the voicemail was full, so after the 6th call, I decided to leave a message on the emergency ortho voicemail. No return call. Fortunately, I was able to get an appt Monday AM and the provider cautioned dental emergencies should be seen within 24 hours... I requested the owner call me over a week ago. We will not return to this practice, after their inability to respond in an emergency and poor customer service to remediate the issue.

Fantastic experience: Brought my 9 year old for enamel hypoplasia treatment that his dentist was not comfortable providing about 3 months ago. 9 year loved Dr. Bowman so today brought my 14 year old and she also liked him… that says a lot when a teenager likes her dentist, even when she needs fillings. The entire team is terrific. Strongly recommend this practice.

They got us in after our annual cleaning to immediately do the filling and took great care of us! All chairs have movies playing for the children to keep them entertained during the appointment! Enter Dr. Bowman - with a legit magic trick and then looks at your kid in the eyes like a human and makes your child feel special, seen, and cared for yet strong. Service from the friendly front to the doc are painless, fast, these folks are willing to do what it takes to craft the best solution no bs… Dr. Bowman is trustworthy, your worry just melts. Not only is my son’s smile (and chipped tooth) healthy, also his love of a dentist and what a long game and short game score to have no dentist fear). He also has a lovely male role model who is giving him a true appreciation of healthy masculinity. Also great bedside manner with parents, he remembers your name and personally oversees his cases. You now have one less worry! Note: it may take a while to get your call in, it is worth it!

The ladies at the front desk are very nice as well. All in all, I'd highly recommend him and the office in general. Great atmosphere.

Dr. Bowman broke everything down to where you can understand it. I would recommend anyone to this dentist.
