Fantastic experience: First visit. Great experience. Hygienist was great. Dr Urban explained everything to me and made me feel very comfortable. Changing dentists after seeing the same one for over 20 years causes some anxiety but my experience at Lakeside was great.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I went yesterday for complementary xray and initial counseling with Dr Modlin after calling for an appointment only the day before yesterday. That's what I call fast! The experience was good, having been advised by the good doctor regarding his priorities for our further treatment as well as giving us some counseling on procedure costs. Three years later. 2020 Our appointments were today; everyone and everything was in keeping with Covid 19 precautions. The visit was as efficient as I could imagine. Lakeside Dental is our dentist! 2022 Still very satisfied with our visits to Lakeside. 2024 Always pleased with Lakeside. 2025 Just had my regular checkup. Looking forward to my filling later this month (aagh!). But I know I'm taken care of by the best!

Negative experience: They can't even get something simple as quoting right. I called to schedule and asked specifically if my insurance will cover it all because I am simply broke. Possibly whoever told me that was new or confused but when I got there for my procedure I would have owed over $250. After reading reviews, I will probably just find a different dentist because I read that they have tried to do unnecessary procedures once the patient went to another dentist.

Fantastic experience: The practice is very flexible with appointments and provide timely reminders.It was initially myself and my wife visiting this practice, then I have moved my kids from another dentistry to Lakeside as well. I like their service, customer care and the overall experience with billing and payment. Based on instructions they are very upfront about charges and so I never had any surprises on billing.

Fantastic experience: Lakeside Dental was extremely accommodating. Called first thing and was greeted by a warm reception and walked thru setup of a much needed appointment. To my surprise they weee able to accommodate same day due to cancellation and got my dental issue addressed same day. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience. I needed an emergency appointment for wisdom tooth, I was able to fill out forms prior to arrival. Check in was easy and quick. Staff is friendly. Office is clean and smells fresh. Lakeside did X-ray and exam and recommended me to OS for extraction.

Negative experience: In 2022, I had a filling done at Lakeside Dental that was poorly executed. I contacted them afterward to have it corrected, and while they attempted to fix it, I still could barely floss between the teeth. It turns out they essentially connected the two teeth, and now I not only need that filling replaced, but the tooth beside it has developed a cavity because I couldn’t floss properly. I also recently noticed something troubling: photos of my teeth from my current dentist are completely different from the images Lakeside Dental showed me during my 2021–2022 visits. Their images portrayed certain areas of my teeth as being extremely yellow, but my current dentist’s photos show no such discoloration, leading me to believe Lakeside may have altered the contrast. Additionally, Lakeside told me that fillings must be replaced every 10 years and that I was due for replacements—something my current dentist says is untrue, as my existing fillings are still in good condition. Overall, I have serious concerns about their transparency and ethics, and it is frustrating that I am now financially responsible for repairing their substandard work as well as for a new filling caused by that same botched procedure.

Fantastic experience: I am a long time patient of Lakeside Dental. When my regular Dentist retired some years ago, I went to several other Dentist Groups before I finally found my "Fit". The Dentist and the hygienists and Office members at Lakeside Dental are AWESOME! I trust the Dentist there for the Best advice and maintenance of my teeth. Fantastic experience: Dr Mayberry and his wonderful staff are a great team. Rather than focusing on a treatment plan at his location they referred me to a periodontal for very serious work that needs to be addressed right away. Something else I liked is that there's no pressure or upselling procedures or treatments as their focus is first and foremost to the patient and not the bottom. I did not catch the name of the initial person I saw but she was very nice and thorough.

Fantastic experience: Basically I've only had cleanings and checkups but will need work done soon. They have been courteous and respected my concerns. Had a bad tooth drilled for a crown followed by a root canal. Then back for prep for the permanent crown. I appreciated Dr Urban and staff being kind to my apprehensions and got me through the fix to a bad tooth. The staff is always friendly and courteous to me.

Fantastic experience: As a new patient I was a little apprehensive but from the first greeting at the front desk everyone was so friendly! I had a great experience with Melanie for my check up and prophylaxis teeth cleaning. I even got a floride treatment. Dr. Matthew Harrison gave me a thorough exam and we discussed a mouth guard for bruxism (night grinding of teeth). Overall it’s a lovely office with great staff. I will recommend Lakeside Dental to our family and friends. That was my initial review and my husband and I have continued to see Dr Brandon Loren and Dr M Ryan Mayberry. They are excellent caring dentists.The hygienists are are also. This time I saw Sondra for my checkup and Prophy. She listened carefully to me and I look forward to seeing her again in October. Dr Loren explained to me as he showed me on the X-ray that I need to replace an old crown. I’m scheduled later in April. The staff is always so pleasant and helpful. It’s a great dentistry office and we have shared with family and friends how much we appreciate them!

Fantastic experience: Great first experience! They were nice to work with, very transparent, and didn’t try to force anything unnecessary. Easy parking and simple layout made for a quick and comfortable appointment.

Negative experience: I started the year off with my first of two yearly cleanings. These are covered completely by my insurance. However, the dental office refused to file my visit as a regular cleaning. They filed it under another procedure which meant my insurance would only cover half. The dental hygienist did nothing more than a general cleaning. This is just a ploy to milk more money. I will be leaving this practice.

Negative experience: I have been a client of Lakeside Dental for 3 years. They informed me in the middle of the year that they would no longer accept my insurance. I explained to them that my company did not allow me to change my dental insurance in the middle of the year and asked if they would work with me until I could get this changed. ( I only had one more cleaning for 2024.) They apologized and said they could not accommodate me, but, that I could pay the full price and stay. It makes no sense from a business perspective to lose clients over one cleaning and not allow their clients to get their plans changed for the next year. Because of the great hygienist and Dr. Ryan, I reluctantly decided to stay and pay the full price for my last 2024 cleaning. They charged me $225 for the cleaning. Christine and Dr. Lee took great care of me, but the business side of this company is their weakness.

Fantastic experience: For many of us, finding a Dentist who will help you identify issues, correct and restore your teeth to its original look is difficult. Fortunately, I found Lakeside Dental who went above and beyond my expectations. I've come to realize, Dr. Mayberry is a perfectionist who pays attention to the smallest of details in restoring your teeth and dentures, which was exactly what I needed for the amount of work required. Lakeside Dentistry has the most amazing staff of professionals who genuinely are committed to caring for their patients. In my honest opinion, Lakeside Dental is an outstanding dental practice. Fantastic experience: I called their office after a filling fell out and they took me immediately on the first day that I had free. I found the office staff very personable, friendly and helpful with my questions. Then the dental assistant was friendly as well. The dentist was fast and did a great job. So all in all, it was a pleasant experience. About pricing... Everything these days is expensive and this office is no different but everyone has to earn a living so their prices, being what they were, were expected and therefore not shocking. Have to give them a very good grade after taking me on short notice.

Fantastic experience: Liz was so professional and full of information that we needed. Dr. Mulberry was knowledgeable, experienced, gentle and also very qualified. We trusted him completely. Entire office staff is also responsive and respectful.

Negative experience: I had high hopes for this Dentist after moving to Cornelius but after my appointment, I will NOT be returning. First, the dental assistant that cleaned my teeth, was not personable. Especially, with me being a new patient. Upon entering the room, I did inform her that I floss but my gums are sensitive. She nodded in confirmation but was very rough with me throughout my appointment. With my mouth wide opened, I had to communicate and let her know that she was hurting me - she had no care nor concern. She continued with her excessive force and ignored my facial expressions and groans of pain. Due to my gums bleeding, she had to continuously use water to clean my mouth. I’m not sure what was happening, but the water pressure wasn’t high, as if the hose was caught on something. She huffed that she had to get up and began picking up the hose off the floor with her gloves. She’s now touching the chair, floor (numerous times), practically everything in the room to clear whatever was blocking the cause of low water pressure. As she walked back over to me, she went to proceed grabbing floss to dig in my gums again - I had to tell her to change gloves! How gross! Even then, she seemed irritated that I asked. After my appointment, she told me to go back to the front desk and left. With this being my first appointment, I wasn’t entirely sure where to go, the office was a maze to me. I turned to ask her which direction, and she was already gone. As I waited at the front desk to complain about my experience, there’s a disgruntled patient on the phone yelling at both receptionists. I stood there over 10 minutes and heard everything! Finally, one of the receptionists cracked a joke and said “…I hope we didn’t scare you away, this doesn’t usually happen…”. Ha! I believe it does. She said I was good to go, and I knew I wasn’t coming back EVER! My mouth was sore for exactly 7 days after my appointment. At this point, I’ll just make the commute to travel to Matthews to the dentist I’ve been going to for over 20 years!

Fantastic experience: Amazing!!!! Best dental work I have ever had done. Had a broken tooth, it was fixed in one visit with no residual pain. I have had the procedure done before by another dentist a few years back and that was a painful experience that still gives me issues. Two weeks in now and still no discomfort, I can't even feel or see what repair work was done. So again AMAZING!

Fantastic experience: As always my 2 kids and I were in and out in 45 minutes. They really value our time and I appreciate that. The staff also is very knowledgeable, friendly and honest. Fantastic experience: Moved to North Carolina recently and was looking for a dentist. So glad I found this one. My first visit was outstanding. From the front desk to the assistant to the hygienist and the doctor everyone was friendly efficient and made me feel like they really cared about my teeth. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: The only thing this office cares about is the money, and leaving at 4PM sharp. They do not schedule enough time per patient, so you will have to make multiple appointments to get anything done. On 3 separate occasions, I was told by the office staff that “they didn’t have time” to do the work I made the appointment for. They want to pick and choose the work as they go instead of doing what you actually need. On my last visit, after being told they didn’t schedule enough time to clean my teeth, but had time to do fillings, I decided to refuse services and look elsewhere for a dental office that has the time to help me. The manager did try to resolve the issue, but it was time to part ways and find somewhere else. This ended up being the best decision I’ve ever made. Found another dental office that makes the time for their patients, and had a wonderful experience. Sadly, I did NOT need any of the dental work that Lakeside Dental claimed I needed. Didn’t need the fillings, as they were tiny stains that simply needed to be cleaned. They measured my gums at 5/6 and said I needed a deep cleaning, this was simply false. My readings were actually 2/3 and a deep cleaning was completely unnecessary. They lost 5 patients that day, because my family will NOT be going back and we have found better care elsewhere.

Pictures were taken of my teeth and Dr. Loren was very thorough in explaining which teeth were fine and which ones needed attention. Negative experience: Would NOT recommend. Complete nightmare with office staff. Charges for services never received, lack of communication, office manager is rude and condescending, turnover with staff was too many to count in just a few months, made errors with appointments with my son who’s active military then charged our account for their errors.

Fantastic experience: Lakeside Dental was absolutely an amazing experience. The technicians were outstanding kind and caring.. Dr Doctor Mayberry tackled my dental problems like Luke Kuechly down by 15 with 2 minutes left to play in the 4 quarter! Love u guys!!!!

Negative experience: I have been going to Lakeside Dental for 3 years. I think Dr. Lauren and my dental hygienist Sondra are wonderful, however, I have had nothing but problems with their billing department for the past year. It has been the most frustrating experience. I will receive a bill even though I know what I had done was a covered service. On numerous occasions they have submitted claims under a different doctor than I had seen and that doctor was out of network so I was charged a deductible. It takes me months to get it resolved. Madeline, the office manager claims she is doing the work of several people and on occasion gets assistance. When I asked to speak with her supervisor she told me she didn’t have one. I asked to speak with Dr. Lauren and she said he would not talk with me. I asked her for the telephone number of the office that handles the billing and Explanation of Benefits and she told me that I could not speak with them either. She also informed me that I had a $50 deductible effective 12/27/23 which is not true. I contacted my insurance company and was told that the reason I was charged a deductible was because the dentist my husband saw was out of network. His appointment was with Dr. Lauren, however, he was out of the office that day so Dr. Mayberry saw him. Since I am unable to speak with my dentist or hygienist, I am currently looking for a new dentist. I am not sure if the owners are aware of the problems at this office, however, I would definitely not recommend this practice to anyone unless you are willing to spend months trying to get your bill straightened out.

Fantastic experience: Great visit today with Hannah and Dr. Loren. They were both very attentive to my needs and provided excellent treatment. Madeleine who works at the front desk has been very helpful during my visits with Lakeside.

Negative experience: I want to start by emphasizing that during my active years as a patient in 2020 and 2021, I experienced no issues with the services or staff. The overall experience was positive, and everyone was courteous. It's crucial to mention that there has been a complete turnover in both doctors and office staff since then. Fast forward to February 5, 2024, when I received a collections email. Upon calling the office, I reached the answering service, and I was informed that the outstanding balance was attributed to a cleaning in 2021 that my insurance supposedly didn't cover. Despite my belief that insurance typically covers cleanings, I decided to address the matter. Expressing my frustration, I questioned why the balance from three fiscal years ago was only now coming to light. The answering service assured me they would relay my message to the practice manager in a polite manner. The following morning, an office representative returned my call, having been briefed by the answering service. I recounted the situation, and the staff member explained that the person responsible for billing in 2021 and 2022 had made errors and was no longer with the office. I voiced my concern about their accountability and questioned whether the new staff member in 2023 had also neglected their duties. The staff member mentioned that they had attempted to notify me through several texts, around six, with messages like "click here for statement." Unfortunately, I couldn't recall these texts amidst the multitude of marketing messages I receive regularly. Highlighting my accessibility, I pointed out that they had successfully reached out to me via call and email for appointment reminders. The staff confirmed that my email and phone number were correct in their system. Despite this, they had relied on automated texts for billing notifications. I admit that I expressed frustration with the current office staff. The turning point was when the staff member mentioned that I wasn't in collections yet and could still settle the payment. While this may be a silver lining, I questioned why they hadn't attempted more direct communication, such as a call or email, before resorting to a collections notice. My concern goes beyond the potential $200 owed; it's about the discomfort of finding myself in collections, a situation I don't typically encounter. Given the substantial changes in doctors, staff, and what appears to be an entirely new practice, I find myself questioning whether I genuinely owe this money to the current entity.

Fantastic experience: I am usually nervous about going to the dentist but Amber made me super comfortable and gave me a lot of great information. Dr. Mayberry was very thorough with my exam. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Negative experience: I quit using this dental office because I went in one day and the receptionist was very snotty and rude. That, plus having a late (I was in my 40s) wisdom tooth pulled and feeling every bit of it. Very stressful visit. I even had gas administered, and I FELT EVERY BIT OF IT. You see, it is hard to numb my gums and they quit listening to my cries of pain and forcefully pulled it. I will never go back to this dentist again. Yes, I let them know it was hard to numb my gums.

Positive experience: Meghan the hygienist is great! She is very thorough and gentle, plus she is happy to explain her cleaning process. She answers all your questions, too! I was a first time patient and the checking in process was chaotic. I filled in my paperwork online ahead of time and sent photos of my insurance but the desk staff and room staff still asked for my insurance card. After several text messages from them to remind me of my appointment and to say I’ll be charged if I don’t cancel 2 days in advance, they seemed to be confused about me being there. They sat me in one room that was not set up, then moved me to another. No one introduced themselves and made me feel welcomed. I heard one staff member say she didn’t want to do something to prepare for another patient, then she came into my room and with a big sigh, started talking my X-rays. I felt rather awkward, like a bother. Dentist did an adequate exam and we spoke but I don’t really know what he looked like, As he stood behind me and outside my line of vision the entire time. But because of Meghan, I’ll give them a second chance.

Negative experience: Went in for a follow-up to a procedure from the week before, experiencing teeth and jaw pain the entire week since the procedure. The front desk manager, dental assistant and attending dentist were insensitive to my pain and provided minimal attention to the problem.

Positive experience: Everyone was very nice and professional. They had state of the art equipment. I had X-rays, cleaning and an exam. I was given a treatment plan. I never saw the dentist face. He stayed behind me the whole time. The people at the front desk said they would call me after checking with my insurance company and let me know how much they would pay. They never called.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Lakeside for many years. I have built personal relationships with my dentists and the staff as well. Every person here works with care and precision. I would certainly recommend to a friend.

Positive experience: Hygienist was very personable and cared about my comfort during the cleaning. The admins were not at the office on time for my 7am and two patients including myself had to wait in the elevator lobby for them to open up. Not a huge deal but seemed a bit unprofessional. They were very kind and helpful once they opened up the office to us.

Negative experience: The work they did was fine. However, I started receiving collections calls over two years after I've been to this place and claim I owe them money. I'm happy to pay if I would have received a bill. I've emailed the office twice to resolve and have not received a response.

Fantastic experience: The best! This practice is very honest, and they care about every patient. This practice pays attention to each patient’s needs with each detailed examination, x-ray, visual, and manual exam. They also give you protocol on what to do for after treatments recommended on how to improve your individual dental health. They follow up with a goodie packet for kids and also for adults, including teeth, whitening, and recommendations or anything else that is needed. This is the ultimate family doctor dentist that makes you feel like home when you enter the office. I love this practice!

Fantastic experience: Dr Loren is awesome. He truly cares. I’ve had everything from root canals, mouth guards, and crowns for dental implants done and never had a bad experience. It can be hard to get through by phone sometimes , but it’s worth the care you receive once you do. :)

Devan the young lady that attended me with whitening my teeth. She was friendly,warm,caring,attentive, professional and very informative.

Positive experience: I really wish I could leave a better review. The first hygienist I had was outstanding along with the dentist who put a crown on a tooth that was chipped. However, they had a new hygienist in training who made my experience poor/uncomfortable. Overall the hygienist in training was very unprofessional and almost acted like a child, throwing tantrums when the first hygienist would recommend things for her to try. It worried me during the final steps of applying the crown when the hygienist in training would literally not pass over the equipment to the first hygienist because she thought she knew better or didn’t need to listen to her. She was busy cleaning the equipment during procedures (even cleaning the touch screen monitor while it was saving my mouth scan information) and made awkward comments to me during my appointment. Kudos to the first hygienist for putting up with her. She maintained a professional manner even with the snarky remarks. This is definitely something that I do not want to have to a deal with again.

Fantastic experience: I was so nervous about the dental work I needed but Dr. Loren and Taylor and the entire staff were so amazing!! They were so encouraging and kind. The process was pain free and they were very careful to do a terrific job! I’d highly recommend Lakeside Dental!

Fantastic experience: Lakeside dental was able to accommodate me very quickly when 1 of my molars cracked in half. All staff were kind and explained what they were doing as well as my dental coverage specifics. Would recommend if you are looking for a clean, professional dental office!

Negative experience: I am very frustrated at their lack of respect for the value of my time. Last week I arrived for an appt to be informed that it had been cancelled. I couldn't get any explanation for why I hadn't been notified ahead of time other than, "I'm sorry we're not sure why you weren't notified". This week I arrived at 8:05 for an 8am appt (by the way, the notifications worked this week including a call at 7:59 to confirm that i was on the way) after heavy traffic on i77 i then waited in the lobby until 8:18 when i was seen. By 8:40 they concluded that i would need to schedule another appt to get the work done, and after asking what we could get done today was told that there wasn't enough time and "the next patient is already here". So, its clear that they value their own time and schedule extremely highly, but not that of their customers.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for years and I love it. Going to the dentist is one of my least favorite things to do but Lakeside truly makes it such a pleasant, not so scary experience! The entire staff is so friendly, personable and helpful. Dr. Loren is awesome, he’s so professional and does great work. Would definitely recommend coming here to anyone!

Negative experience: Not good at all. First off, if you are sensitive to smell RUN from this office. They have a giant scent diffuser in the waiting room. Then EACH treatment room has a glade plug in pumping out chemicals. I had an instant headache. Also, there is SO much turn over at this office. The original dentists are no longer in Cornelius. There were two others for awhile and now there are two new ones to replace those! There was a super sweet hygienist that was there for years but she is gone. None of the hygienists nor front desk staff stay consistent.
