Fantastic experience: this was my kids first time to the dentist and i had four kids everyone was very nice and patient and very professional i will be recommending friends and family to bring their kids here

Fantastic experience: The environment was very welcome. The staff were so friendly and inviting for my one year old to feel okay being his first time at the dentist.

Negative experience: Their billing department is horrible. They had me pay for things insurance covered. Then told me I didn't pay for things that I paid for. I had to send them months of bank statements to prove I paid. They are so unorganized and overbooked. Sometimes you aren't seen til an hour after your appointment time. Then when you are finally finally seen, they have three different techs working on your child's mouth. One will start, then someone will send them to do another task, then the same thing will happen again. Also, if you look at the staff, I doubt they are an EOE.

Fantastic experience: Great and welcoming office starting with the front desk staff very welcoming the theme of under the sea is such a great theme ipads for kids fish tank is just great Manager Julia is great person as well Dr Rad shes great!! My kids loved it thank you Myra who got my son to do his cleaning shes great as well thank you to everyone in that office Crenshaw!!!

Negative experience: My son wore braces from August 23, 2025, until December 6, 2025. We were trying to move his upper canines back. His teeth were symmetrical before treatment, as you can see from his childhood photos. After the braces were removed, we discovered that his lower teeth had shifted noticeably, and now the center of his lower arch is off, making it look like there are three teeth in the middle instead of four. This damaged his dental aesthetics. Now he will need to redo the treatment in another clinic. One star service ⭐️ Thank you

Fantastic experience: I love this place the staff were so friendly. Made my boys feel safe and comfortable they made sure they interacted with them through their entire visit. Was greeted by every staff member I passed by. And loved the doctor she explained everything very well. And they are very fast when I walked in the lobby was full but we did not wait long to be called. Highly recommend this place if you have kids.

Negative experience: We have been going to this dentist for 3 years and have had terrible experiences each and every time. The last 2 times we went we arrived 20 minutes prior to our appointment time filled out all necessary paperwork and waited in the waiting room. As our 9am appointment time came we noticed several Latin families that arrived after us get called before us. And when we inquired with the receptionist she stated we are waiting on a chair for ur daughter. Once called we got to the back and saw the 4 children that arrived after us in the back getting worked on. At that point my family left the office and will NEVER go back!

Fantastic experience: UPDATE!!! Was at CDFZ yesterday with my teenager for her braces extractions and had the greatest service experience with Jeanine and Crystal! Their speedy service and welcoming smiles makes it a pleasure to visit! Very friendly, clean and efficient service.

Negative experience: Worst Dental place ever to take your child I came in to the dental office because my son was in pain I checked in everything went smooth my son got diagnose for dental treatment and got sent over to the Treatment coordinator i believe her name was Crystal Gomez and she was really unprofessional rude disrespectful over a Treatment only because I refuse the laughing gas she told me if I can not afford it then dn't do the treatment that the doctor will not do any TX.I told her my sin had an allergic reaction last time Im not exposing my kid.I left.How can they have a disrespectful unprofessional worker like her.

Fantastic experience: It was my Autistic sons first time here and I was very anxious about how things would go. Thankfully the entire staff was extremely helpful and everyone seemed to know how navigate working with special needs kids! They all made my son and I feel comfortable and safe! Definitely will make them our Peds dentist!

Fantastic experience: From being able to schedule my son's appointment online, completing intake forms electronically and meeting the upbeat support staff, my experience was a positive one. The Dental Hygienists and the Dentist was detailed, effective and comforting to my nervous son. The office is clean, colorful and aesthetically pleasing. My son's favorite was the calming fish tank! If your child is hesitant to go to the Dentist, Children's Dental FunZone - Crenshaw is the place to be!

Fantastic experience: Great first time visit for my toddler! My daughter had such a fun experience here. They weren’t able to get a full scan of her teeth, WE LOVED and appreciated that they didn’t stress her out to get the full scan (added to her fun experience)! My daughter had such a fun time, she wouldn’t stop letting people about her dentist appointment afterwards.

Fantastic experience: The staff are always so friendly and they always have great Orthodontist doctor’s, they are always sweet and patient. I have had the pleasure of meeting quite a few since all three of my kids are seen here, definitely recommend to those looking for a kids dentistry.

Fantastic experience: This was a great experience! She got fillings and it was a breeze. NO PAIN! Top tier service from the moment that we walked in. All the staff were so kind and professional. The dentist and assistant were so nurturing and encouraging talking baby girl through each step. She walked in all smiles, and left the same. It was certainly a refreshing experience and an amazing sight to see. If you’re concerned about your child experiencing discomfort or pain, that’s really up to you. Even my little drama princess was able to manage. The staff did everything they could to make sure they did their part! Oh and you can’t forget they have every movie you can imagine to keep your kid entertained! 10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Fantastic experience: The staff treated me and my daughter with respect and kindness.

Positive experience: Not a lot of respect for the patient's time - book on a non school day or when you don't have anywhere to go after. Waited over half an hour in the lobby before even seen for X-rays, then 15 minute wait for cleaning and another 30 wait for the one doctor on duty running down the assembly line. Care is sufficient from the doctor but reception staff are not friendly when we arrived or made inquiries on how much longer the wait would be.

Fantastic experience: Today was my son's first time at this dentist office. He is on the Spectrum and is very sensitive to sensory triggers. The entire staff was so friendly and patient and they got him to be able to do x-rays for the first time ever! (he's 7 years old). They were AMAZING with him and made him feel really comfortable and safe. I have never seen him so relaxed. My son also enjoyed all of the decorations and fish tank inside the office. I would definitely recommend this Children's dentist to anyone and especially if your little one is on the autism spectrum ☺️

Fantastic experience: I’ve been bringing my kids here for a few years now, and I can honestly say this place is amazing for children of all ages. My daughter had to have a lot of dental work done at a really young age, and every dentist we’ve seen here has been so kind and patient with her. They explain things in a way she can actually understand, which makes her feel comfortable. The staff is always friendly too, I haven’t come across anyone rude. Even when the waiting room is busy with kids, we’ve never had to wait long. They’re quick and efficient, which is a huge plus with little ones. Definitely recommend, 10/10.

Fantastic experience: My son is on the spectrum with ADHD and it was his first time here. When he walked in he loved all the immaculate features. He liked the colors, the fish tank, the staff, and the tvs of course, lol. He used to give me a ton of different scenarios where he used to scream for his life all of these transactions were prior to me finding out about his behavioral disorder. I did make a note to tell the staff about his behavioral disorder so his behavior aba therapist could assist me today as well. He did very well today getting his x-rays done on his beautiful teeth. I'm very proud of our progress with the dentist this is a big thing for my big boy. I do think the dentist coming to his school twice a year helps with our visits here. It's very family friendly and the staff were very upbeat and polite as well. I enjoyed his dentist and would've loved working here when I was a dental assistant back in 2009. Update:My son is doing very well here as a patient. All the staff is very friendly, professional, and gentle with your children. It's a very tidy establishment as well!

Negative experience: Had I known the Ortho Dr is only there on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s I definitely would have sought service elsewhere! My daughter’s appointments are getting further and further apart. We’re up to 8 weeks in between appointments. Updated 8/2025: I so friggin hate this place! Bunch of incompetent employees work there. In the past…I completed a “chaperone” form so that my sister can take my child to Ortho when I’m unable to. Appointment before last…my sister took her and scheduled the follow up appointment. Well…on the follow up appointment day, staff stated they needed an updated “chaperone” form. I just don’t understand why they did not tell her this at the prior appt. They refused to see my child without it! I was at work on a Saturday morning, doing OT. Therefore, I was unable to access the form and email it back right then and there in order for my daughter to be seen. So my sister had no choice but to reschedule…and yep…it was another 6 weeks!

We came pretty far to be seen at Children's Dental FunZone and it was a good decision. Also my daughter absolutely love Onyx and could not stop talking about hee.

Fantastic experience: My kids and I like this office, starting from the beautiful mural on the wall to the big screen for movies. The assistants were very polite and patient with my kids (my kids were nervous from previous experiences). The doctor also a good and positive attitude with parents and patient. Negative experience: I have been bringing my daughter here for her braces for a while, and everything was going smoothly. I had my credit card on file for auto charges. Unfortunately, sometime in the middle of this year, I didn’t realize that the card on file was the same one I had recently reported as lost. I updated my information with Orthobanc and made my past payments. I even spoke to someone from the office and Orthobanc to confirm that everything was fine. Fast forward to this morning—I was denied adjustments for my daughter's braces. I provided proof of payment, including the ledger from the Orthobanc website that clearly shows the payment was made and pending. You would think that would be enough, but it wasn't. I had to pull my daughter out of her swim meet to bring her in because her last appointment was rescheduled due to the doctor’s unavailability. I was okay with that since I understand that things happen. However, the way this situation was handled by management was poorly done. I presented proof of payment that I could not have faked directly from the website, and they could have made an exception, just as I had to adjust my schedule for the rescheduled visit due to the doctor’s unavailability. Money was taken out of my account, but the service was not rendered. Now I have to wait until Monday to reschedule and coordinate with my work for another day off. This is absolutely unacceptable and unnecessary. The only reason I don't give this place zero stars is because the front office staff are very nice, as well as Sandy and the orthodontic staff. On the other hand, management handled this matter poorly, leaving a bad impression. This place doesn’t feel the same anymore. I also have my son who will be getting braces soon, and I am considering looking for another orthodontist after this experience. Management greatly impacts how a business is perceived, and I can assure you that if this situation had been handled differently, I would be praising how well issues are resolved here.

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for years. First on Pico and now and Crenshaw. And my kids are always well taken care of and the staff is exceptionally attentive and friendly. And the streaming video selection is great for the kids to be occupied and relaxed for treatment. :)

Negative experience: Your first impression of the place is that it’s very nice for kids. Well decorated, with a nice fish tank and a nice set up. The Personal seem nice. I have only been there once. However, the reason why I am giving a one star review is because I took my child in to get one of her tooth checked out and X-rays done because she had had a small accident that same morning. Everybody was aware why I was there. The dentist told me to sit down on the chair and have my toddler daughter sit on top of me and lean on me on my right side shoulder. She’s talking to me about the tooth and I’m thinking she’s just checking out her tooth I don’t have a really good gire of her because my daughter is covering my view, but I am able to see that she has a toothbrush in her mouth. she had put FLOURIDE in my child’s mouth without even asking me, no concern whatsoever ever. She was only there to get checked her tooth out, the doctor never told me she was gonna brush her teeth let alone put a chemical in her. When I asked if it was fluoride, she told me no. I trusted her, but I kept a little bit of a doubt. As we are having my daughter get her x-rays done in another area, I asked that nurse what was the chemical that the dentist would have put on my child and she said fluoride to which I made it very clear to her I was upset so when the x-rays were done, I walked over to the dentist and I asked her again if she had to put fluoride and she said yes, slightly a tiny little bit because “I had noticed” until then she used a fluoride free toothpaste. I was furious because it wasn’t even toothpaste with fluoride she had put on. She literally put fluoride in her teeth all the bubbles were there on the paper she was showing me as she was apologizing to me. I was and I am very upset because she did not tell me she was going to put Flouride in my child’s teeth. My daughter was not there for a cleaning, it she was just to get her tooth checked out and x-rays.

Fantastic experience: This location is much more friendly than others. The receptionists were very kind and explained everything clearly, even though my English is limited. The nurses and doctors also treated my children with great care, and they clearly explained the process and gave helpful updates after the visit. From now on, my kids will be coming to the Crenshaw location for dental care. Highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: Our experience at Children’s Dental Fun Zone on Crenshaw has been nothing short of spectacular! We love Dr. Assal, and her team of staff. The staff are professional and attentive. The ambiance is fun and kid friendly with iPads, tv’s throughout and after visit incentives! Dr. Assal’s friendly, gentle and great sense of humor puts our children at ease when they are scared and fearful of dental visits! We recommend this wonderful dentistry in the community and Dr. Assal!

Negative experience: Be prepared to wait 1-2 hours to be seen WITH AN APPOINTMENT!!! My child has been going here for 2 months and nothing had been done , no wire or nothing !!! Oh and not to mention the ortho doctor only comes in ONE time a week !!! I do not recommend this location 0/10 very unhappy.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gone to Children’s dental FunZone, and specifically for Dr. Assal for the past 8years or so. I always ask for her specifically. She’s always kind, caring and doesn’t do anything excessive to my children. They first had her as a dentist at the Pico location, and then we were pleasantly surprised to find out she would be working a few days out of the Crenshaw Location when it opened. 5 stars for the dentistry, and 10 for her.

Fantastic experience: This dentist is specifically designed for children. The staff was extremely friendly and made sure that both my son and I felt comfortable. The Dr. was very open and informative. We were seen at exactly our appointment time even though the office was busy. My son said he had fun and wanted to stay when it was time to leave.

Negative experience: Not sure if the other Dental Fun Zone offices are better, but the Crenshaw office is super disorganized and has a big lack of communication issue. They were nice enough to comp my child’s 4th pedi-partial but after 3 weeks I called to check the status (as it should only take 2 weeks) and I never got a callback. Called another 3 times over the course of several weeks, was always promised a callback, but never got a single one. Finally after over 2 months, I had to call several times in one day in order to speak with a manager, only to be told that they lost the scan and we had to come in again. At the appointment, the technician found the scan there on the machine! I like my child’s dentist there, but the office itself is atrocious. Can’t justify continuing to go there when the office communication is this bad.

Fantastic experience: The staff, the environment, it's all perfect. Not only do the dentists provide well explained details about dental procedures, but they also make you feel welcome. The environment is also a plus, with a fish tank and a bunch of space to sit. These five stars were well earned.

He loves the movie time and the pleasure that he can have me there with him throughout his appointment. The staff is pleasant and friendly and it's nice to have a dentistry around that cares. Negative experience: I made the mistake of getting my son braces at this place. Stay away. The waits are long (over 2 hrs), they cancel your appointments without telling you than want to make excuses as to why it happened. You would think the office manager would be helpful instead she says "you should have received a follow up if it was an actual appointment." No, I made the appointment, after waiting 2 hrs on Feb 19th because they were understaffed. She said this even after I showed her the text I received saying it was today.

Fantastic experience: My children have been patients of Dental Fun Zone for over 2 years and we are so happy with their services. Their work is impeccable, staff is amazing, and their waiting area as well as working stations are always clean. Highly recommend this location for children’s dental services.

They make sure the kids understand what they are going to do and show them how the tools work so it will be a great experience, of a visit. Negative experience: First and last time I bring my child! Please avoid this place! Especially if your child is scared of the dentist. The dr isn’t willing to do the entire treatment because she has “other patients to see”. Poor excuse! I was scheduled at 10 am and they told me to come back at 1pm to get my child’s treatment. If I could wait and came back at 1 why rush my child’s treatment?! Why schedule me when she has other patients to see?! Ridiculous!!! . Now my child has to go again to another dentist to get treatment on the other side. More unnecessary trauma! She’s very insensitive and said she had been with my child too long. Mind you she started at 1:27 and finished at 1:45!Definitely disappointed in this Dr. never ever will I come back and I warn all parents to reconsider coming! There’s a dentist 1 block away I should have gone there and not here. 100% regretful coming to this place!

Negative experience: They are not professionals at all denying me my son's appointment because supposedly they had not paid I had to lose a whole day of work to verify that I had made my payments up to date thanks to an orthobanc agent was that in the end I managed to verify that my payments were up to date This place is the worst serving its customers

I recommend this place. I bring my 7 year old and they remember us. There's lots of parking. There's free coffee. There's tablets for the kids.

Negative experience: This place has good days and bad. Staff is friendly but inconsistent with their service. Sometimes you can wait 10 minutes for an appointment and sometimes you wait an hour or more.

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing they provided a comfortable and fun environment for my children to get the best dental care. They staff was super nice, and helped coach my children through the visit the whole way to keep then engaged and helped calm which made there dental experience a 10/10 thank you guys again for the amazing experience

Fantastic experience: I can't complain. My kid is the one kicking and screaming everytime and we havnt been kicked out yet. So yes I do recommend them! They have been quite patient both visits with my son and I appreciate it. UODATE.....MY SON HAS BEEN THE PAST 2 TIMES AND HE HAS NO FEAR OR ISSUES HERE. THEY HAVE BEEN GREAT!

Fantastic experience: I have been coming here for years and I always liked how me and the kids are treated and it’s usually a in and out appointment, no long waiting and they provide tablets and I appreciate that while we wait.

Fantastic experience: Love it for my two littles ones, 9 & 7. Staff is kind and warm hearted. Doctor Alex and his assistant Fredrick were so thoughtful and thorough, my son was smiling after his procedure. Dr. Alex and Sheyla worked so quickly on my daughter she even asked “is that it”?Strongly recommend for your little ones as well!

Fantastic experience: The employees were very helpful and kind. Very accommodating and given a memorable experience. The wait isn’t too long. Very clean. Children will love the ocean themed atmosphere, and aquarium. I will be coming back again. Definitely recommend to friends and family who have children.

Fantastic experience: I got to say they are very professional at what they do. I swear to God I am very satisfied at the way they dis their job. How they took ccare of my child!!! I ain’t gonna lie. I was very worried and scared but there’s so professional and what they do that they made me feel very comfortable and very satisfied and happy with them the best please where to take your children.
