Positive experience: I was a little nervous re: my new hygienist & that went very well, pleased with her. The checkout not so much. I questioned my service that I didn't get & was given a hard time & pushed my receipt back & told me oh well that's what it is. When I didn't back down & she'd had to get up to go question what I was stating to her, I told her to do just that. She came back to remove & updated my receipt!

Negative experience: Sadly, I was extremely disappointed. My appointment was at 4 PM today. I got there at approximately 10 till four at 4: 2425. I was still sitting in the waiting room people that came in after me were going back and I was still sitting there so I approached the counter again after of course I had signed it. When I first walked in they said that the person who was supposed to be doing me said she didn’t get the notification in the back that I was there so these people that kept going back were taking my place Because she didn’t know that I was there - I was offered another appointment on tomorrow however I drive 40 minutes and I left work early about two hours. I cannot do that two days in a row so the lady explained to me that I wouldn’t be able to get back in for an appointment until August of next year which I don’t think is fair to me then she said she could put me on a cancellation list and call me within two weeks of a time. Don’t think that that’s necessarily fair to me either because I was there on time but it is what it is first time I’ve ever had an issue there and was surprised of the outcome.

Fantastic experience: Awesome experience! I used this dental group for an emergency visit. I found them to be very professional, personable, accommodating, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend them and their services. I was so impressed that I am considering moving to their practice, even though they are out of my dental insurance network. Thanks for a job well done, Delmarva Dental Services. 12/04/2025 I have again required the expertise that Delmarva Dental Services offers. I incurred a problem with a dental procedure. They diagnosed and handled the issue with the utmost knowledge, attentiveness, and professionalism. They are always approachable, empathetic, friendly, and helpful. I would highly recommend their services for your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: The staff were all incredibly wonderful and nice, and they helped calm down my anxiety by being very patient and kind and explaining exactly what was going on, so I could understand it and be less fearful. They gave me a very easy to understand report of the damage, and ways to try to prevent further decay. This was only my first visit, and I'm no longer as scared as I first was to come back and get the damage worked on after the consultation. I would highly recommend this place, as they are very thorough and considerate.

Negative experience: My husband and I have been going to this office over 25 years. We started when Dr Esham was there. I retired and lost my dental insurance so it has been almost 2 years since I was seen. I called recently to get appointment and was told I would be considered a new patient. I would have to pay almost $500 for consultation and then make appointment for cleaning that was more money. I had Dorothy for my hygienist and loved her . I was willing to private pay knowing they charge more but I guess I am moving on.

Fantastic experience: I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to the dentist from when I was a child, the ladies here were absolutely AMAZING. They squeezed me in same day because I was having a horrible tooth ache, I ended up having to get a root canal and an extraction. They were super transparent when it came with pricing and what exactly had to be done. They were so kind knowing how anxious I was and talked me through everything that they were doing or about to do and I really appreciated it. I would recommend them to all my family and friends and will 100% be coming back for routine visits. They don’t take insurance but for their customer service I would pay anything!

Negative experience: Was a patient for 2 years. First, Harmon botched a root canal = so bad the tooth hurt right after - he didn't get all the root. Then he sent me to get it pulled!!! - And Charged me full price!! Also he couldn't order and fit a bridge properly (since I left had it done properly) - Robbed me of a tooth and my money. Avoid Harmon -his staff are loyal to him and will not help you.

Fantastic experience: After moving to DE, we were looking for a dental practice that took our insurance. It seems, after checking quite a few in DE, that they don't participate with insurance but will submit it for you. We happened to be eating out one day and heard one of the waitresses speaking about dental practices to another table. When we got her attention we inquired about her experience. She said that she works for one in Salisbury, MD, but they'd just submit the insurance also(I"m thinking her name was Chris or Christine? said she'd worked there for quite some time). Her kindness convinced us to give them a try, Delmarva Dental, even though they are about a 45+ minute drive. During our visit, we realized that she had rubbed off on the whole practice, or vice versa, everyone has been so kind and helpful at this Dental Office. Our insurance takes some of the cost pain off, but we do pay more going here, but we've decided that the bit of extra cost is worth it for us. My wife and I highly recommend Delmarva Dental !!!

Fantastic experience: My son chipped his tooth at baseball when I called and asked what to do, Kira was amazing! She was so kind and even though they were about to close, she talked to the dentist and responded so fast with my options. While I wasn't able to go there due to this being an emergency and them not having openings, she still made sure I had the information to help my son. Even after knowing I wasn't going to be seen by them, she still called the next day to check on me (i was upset and stressed) and my son. She was so amazing! Delmarva Dental Services is very lucky to have her!

Because of a long-term disability, I have neglected my teeth. This practice knew I was a little embarrassed and they made sure to take away that shame. I love this practice.

Negative experience: Highest prices in town. I promise. If you're thinking about going here. Try somewhere else first. $400+ for X-rays and a simple cleaning. Neither of which are done by a dentist. So the price is just ludicrous. I went here for an oral surgery in 2021. Paid $300 cash and had to have it redone twice. I had the same surgery done here 3 times and it failed 3 times. I ended up in Baltimore to have it done a fourth time. Only then was it successful and actually covered by my insurance. So please, do your research, browse offices and get an accurate total cost with insurance before getting anything done here. The dentist was a nice guy and refunded me for the cost of the surgery as a courtesy, so, I suppose that's the silver lining. The only issue, and the singular reason I'm taking the time to write this four years later, is today's experience with the office staff. They called me twice today in one hour. I called them back after missing them the first time to inquire the reason for their call, since I haven't been there in years. They informed me that I had an outstanding balance of about $200. Not usually a problem since any other business will inform you of an outstanding balance within 60 days. But since I hadn't been there since 2022 for the X-rays and cleaning, I didn't see how this was possible considering the last time I was there, I paid over $200 up front for their services. I told the woman on the phone, I haven't been contacted about this and asked why on earth they waited years past the date of service to inform me of this balance. After a short exchange, she says "Are you going to pay?" Is that really how we're talking to patients now? After that exchange, returning their initial call, not ten minutes later I get another call from Ms. Lisa B. I told her I just got off the phone with someone else not five minutes ago. And rather than apologizing and simply end the call. She proceeds to attempt the same conversation I just had with someone else five minutes prior. But now that I'm being harassed, I ask again, why they've waited years after the date of service to inform me that they now plan to send my account to collections. She continuously attempted to speak over me and argue with me over her level of unprofessionalism claiming they've "called, mailed and emailed several times and we have record of it." Ms. Lisa, no you don't. Because you didn't and I wouldn't suggest insinuating that patients are liars, when I have record of what was actually received. Your office couldn't even keep a record of the last five minutes of the call log and you actually expect anyone to believe you kept record of calls, mail and emails over years? Your office did not send mail, and made attempts to contact me by phone exactly four times. Two of which were from today, one dated March 2023 and one dated August of 2024. Now, I can accept responsibility where warranted, but maybe give some thought to changing your caller ID from "ESHAM ROBERT G" to something related to the name of the business. It looks like spam and is undoubtedly the reason I did not answer your suspiciously sparse, one call a year, a year after I initially received service. I have exactly four emails from your office. Three of which are ads dated 2021. The only legitimate one informing me of the overdue balance is dated today, 03/26/2025 12:22pm, ten minutes before you called. I don't appreciate being harassed, called a liar and spoken over on phone with a medical office over something so simple that could have been taken care of years ago. Perhaps, consider an email to the patient when the account becomes 30, 60, or 90 days overdue. That's what professional, ethical offices do. Rather than doing everything possible to get money from them immediately now your office has finally noticed a patient's years old outstanding balance they didn't even know they had. Your record keeping and methods of contact are not your clients' responsibility. They're yours and your billing department's. I hope future patients never have to deal with this nonsense.
