Pashapour Oral + Facial Surgery

Negative experience: Dr.Pashapour and his staff were not only friendly but very attentive! He was able to schedule my wisdom teeth extraction promptly and made me feel less anxious about the procedure! Payment was a nightmare!!! I had to pay for the entire surgery up front and was told they would send in my information for my health insurance to cover whatever my dental insurance did not cover. They gave me the run around for an entire year. They never sent my information to my health insurance provider and would not let me file a claim myself. I paid over $3000 out of pocket and didn’t see a dime back. I called back every month for a year and was told “our financial department is looking into it and will get back to you”. They gave me excuse after excuse as to why they hadn’t sent my information to my health insurance provider. They never got back to me and always acted unaware of the issue the next time I called. Now that it’s been a year I can no longer file a claim. I’m not even upset about paying out of pocket but I wish I could’ve had it go towards my medical insurance deductible. They also took a biopsy of my gums and took over 6 months to get back to me. I had to call and ask for a follow up because it seemed like a way to get extra money out of me. Do not subject yourself to this financial nightmare. I had to change my good review because of this experience.

Fantastic experience: I got my wisdom tooth extracted at Dr. Pashapour's dental clinic, this was an overdue procedure but Dr. Pashapour & his medical team was amazing! - Dr. Pashapour took his time to explain the issue and emphatically ensured I will heal. And calmly set expectations. - The medical team on the other hand is super attentive and communicative. Each front office analyst did amazing job in setting the appointment and following up. - The day of the extraction was a seamless, and Dr. Pashapour did an fabulous job, I did not get too swelled up (that maybe a person to person) but I want to see he's a skilled dentist. Highly highly recommend Dr. Pashapour's dental service for facial surgeries and for other complicated dental work! 10/10

Positive experience: 11/26/25: Almost 3 months post surgery, I have not gotten any reimbursement for the surgery from my insurance. Andrew/the claims office had promised from the beginning to handle the insurance claim and send everything over, but after trying to work with their office and the insurance company for over 2 months, I gave up and took things into my own hands. I recommend working with your insurance company on your own from the start and not working with their insurance office to process the claim, as it just causes delays in the reimbursement process. 9/19/25: I got an arthrocentesis procedure for my TMJ pain a week ago and am already feeling SOOO much better. I have tried every single treatment under the sun during the 5 years I have struggled with this pain and NOTHING has stuck. Just a week post op, I already feel a remarkable difference. I can’t speak highly enough of the clinical staff at Dr. Pashapour’s office. I especially want to call out Dr Pashapour, Nina, Andrew, and Mona - without them, this experience would not have been as transformative and seamless as it was. They truly care about the patient, making them feel as comfortable as possible, and making sure they are getting the treatment that is right for them. Their front desk staff was difficult to work with at times but don’t be discouraged by that - the clinical staff makes up for it x1000.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pashapour and his team have been treating me for 8 years and my experience has been superlative. They are professional, with unmatched expertise and skiil and a kind, gentle and supportive bedside manner. I am completely comfortable with their work and have the greatest respect for them. The office staff is wonderful, friendly and competent and always happy to assist. The office ambience is relaxed and serene and always makes me feel at ease.

Negative experience: I have refrained from writing this review for several months in an effort to give this office the opportunity to reconcile things. Unfortunately, that has not happened and I have been either ignored or treated rudely. My experience at this practice has been abysmal. I would not recommend them to anyone for the reasons below: At a surgical follow up appointment, I was kept waiting for over an hour and no images were taken because the person responsible for the appt had not shown up to work. Though things happen, I should've been given a phone call and opportunity to reschedule for when the appointment could actually be fulfilled instead of wasting an entire afternoon. They initially submitted an unitemized invoice for payment (which is illegal.) They submitted a partially false narrative to my insurance company. They have refused to share my medical records with a specialist consulting on the case. After surgical complications I was referred to a physical therapist. Unfortunately, the referral sheet they gave me had a 6 years out of date address and they sent me to the wrong office. Emails and phone calls go unanswered. When they are returned the office manager had zero familiarity with any of these issues, and was immediately combative. She was extremely unprofessional, argumentative, and they still won't release my medical records, despite countless phone calls and emails over several months. The office itself is somewhat rundown and full of endrocrine disrupting plug in air fresheners. If you are chemically sensitive, it is worth avoiding the office on this basis alone. There are rips in the surgical chairs and things are generally run down feeling. Dr. Pashapour himself is nice, but this is by far the worst run medical practice I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Update: I’ve just been retreated by another surgeon after complications and pain at the surgical site continued. Instead of taking my feedback seriously, I was told Dr. Pashapour did “perfect work” and there was no infection at the surgical site. This was absolutely false. A cone beam scan at another practice showed clear signs of infection under the bone graft and I had emergency surgery to clear it up. This doctor’s ego stole almost a year of my life, he wasted 3 months and hundreds of dollars on totally unnecessary physical therapy and I had to spend thousands on an additional surgery to correct his work. Your body cannot heal this type of infection on its own. It is INCREDIBLY dangerous to ignore a dental infection as Dr. Pashapour did. I was gaslit and put in a very dangerous medical situation by this office. DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Pashapour and staff are awesome and efficient! He does wonderful work and is very kind and friendly! I have been several times to get teeth fixed and it always goes better than expected!

Fantastic experience: I had to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed and my experience with Dr. Pashapour’s office was amazing from start to finish. I was super scared and anxious going in but everyone made me feel so comfortable and cared for. The staff is incredibly friendly and comforting which made such a big difference for me. Dr. Pashapour himself is amazing and you can tell he is truly passionate about what he does! He is an excellent surgeon and the whole process was so much easier than I expected. I’m really grateful for how well they took care of me and would absolutely recommend this office to anyone.

Fantastic experience: Seriously impressed with Dr. Pashapour and the team. I felt so taken care of from start to finish. Dr. Pashapour is clearly a highly skilled surgeon with a very kind and caring approach. He explained to me very well about the procedure I’m having and why it is the best approach. I was able to reach him via texts after the operation whenever I had questions and they were promptly answered. I was able to schedule time to see him for multiple post-operative appointments to keep my mind/pain at ease and quick recovery. I’d definitely recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom teeth extracted with all four of them being Complete Bony Impactions. I’ve had dental anxiety in the past but the staff and Dr. Pashapour made the whole experience smooth and painless. With or without insurance, they offer a variety of different payment plans with no interest which I thought was extremely nice. Everybody is quick to respond and super helpful from niche specific questions to general questions. Those who have been second guessing getting their teeth removed due to anxiety or other underlying issues, I would sincerely recommend this spot!

Fantastic experience: I was experiencing severe and persistent wisdom tooth pain and after calling multiple oral surgeons who couldn’t see me until late August at the earliest, Dr. Pashapour and his team were a relief! They were able to see me and complete the surgery in the same week. They were super accommodating and made me feel comfortable about all treatment options. I cannot recommend this office enough!! Edit - one week after surgery! Dr. Pashapour and his team (shoutout Nina) continue to be incredible! They took every precaution to ensure my comfort and health during my wisdom tooth removal and talked thru everything with me. Thanks to them, my healing is going well and everything is on track. Positive experience: Overall my experience at Pashapour was wonderful. I am pretty nervous with dental procedures and he made me feel comfortable and stress free. I got my wisdom teeth removed and it was easy and the recovery was very quick. I would just appreciate some better wait times. Waited 1 hour to be seen at both appointments with no heads up that it would be that late.

Fantastic experience: Awesome staff all around, each visit was a pleasure and surgery went off without a hitch. Dr Pashapour is not only a great surgeon but has amazing bedside manner. He kept me relaxed about a potentially serious diagnosis (thankfully it wasn’t).

Negative experience: I saw Dr. Pashapour on April 29 and was scheduled for a procedure on May 9. After a third opinion advised the procedure wasn't needed, I canceled a week in advance and even offered to pay a $100 cancellation fee instead of them keeping my deposit of $495. The office manager (also his wife) refused any refund or flexibility, despite the short notice between consult and procedure (less than 15 days). Dr. Pashapour was kind, but their pricing was nearly double what I was quoted elsewhere. Just sharing my experience, but I recommend getting a second opinion and comparing both care and costs. Steer clear if you value flexible policies.

Positive experience: I agree with most reviews here. The Dr. is excellent, great bedside manners, experienced and we had a really good experence with him, however, I have to say that my experience with the office was different. They charged me based on an estimate but at the end my insurance paid more than what they had estimated. I noticed this when I received the insurance statement and called immediately. Andrew said the financial person was only there on Tuesdays and that she would call me back. Six months later I realized they never called me and went in the office to see about my reimbursement. They told me they had to verify the claim, they made me wait 45 minutes and at the end told me that as soon as they received the claim in their email they would call me to see how I wanted to receive my reimbursement. I left and nobody called me. I called for 2 days straight and no answer. I finally decided to go back again and ask for my reimbursement. When I get there the front desk staff tells me that Andrew is in an importamt meeting and they don't know when he will be done. One of the ladies at the front checks the system and tells me to call my isurance because it seemed they never sent a check. I called the insurance and find out the office cashed the check 6 months ago. somehow after that they were able to get my card and quickly give me a credit back. If it was me who owed them money I would have been at a collections agency. I took time from work twice for them to return $ that was mine to begin with.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ali Pashapour is the best. I got five of my teeth extracted the same day on 9/27/2024. The procedure was less painful. His after hours prompt response with help in symptoms management was excellent. His nurse Ajua has what it takes to help patients in that settings especially if you’re nervous about the procedure and recovery. Thank you all.

Fantastic experience: For context, I needed wisdom tooth surgery and I had a very strong fear of sedation/general anesthesia. Stuff like this would cause me anxiety attacks every single day. But the nurses and surgeon were able to guide me through everything. They told me the procedure, they informed me about the process of IV sedation, they even let me listen to music during the procedure, which calmed me tremendously. They are very thorough and they helped me overcome a major phobia. Now I am both physically and mentally better and I am grateful for them.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and professional. Easy in and out. Doctor is proficient and speedy. My daughter had more difficulties with anesthesia then the actual extraction. Dr Pashapour answered after hours calls immediately. She healed well and quickly and pain was easily managed with OTC meds. As a physician, I'd recommend sublingual /suppository zofran, instead of oral, as a send home rx for those who are so sensitive to anesthesia. Other than this, it was seamless. We are booking another surgery with him soon. You can be assured that you are in very good hands.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pashapour’s office saw me at a moments notice when I needed urgent care. I had an exceptional case where I needed an extraction a week and a half before my wedding. Surgery was flawless and I healed in plenty of time with no swelling or pain for the wedding day. So thankful to have worked with a great team.

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience getting all four of my wisdom teeth taken out with Dr P. The staff were incredible throughout the entire process, and never failed to answer any questions that I had. The only thing I would note is that 3 of the 4 times I went to this practice, I was not seen for about 20 to 30 minutes from my original appointment time. If you are planning on coming during the workday, I would plan your work schedule with some extra time to be safe.

Negative experience: Definitely super revenue driven.. I called & scheduled a consult for wisdom tooth removal. I spent time filling out my new patient information prior to my visit. I arrive & they had documented a completely different insurance. Not active & not the one I filled out on the paperwork. Why take the time to proactively provide this information if they aren’t even going to bother looking at it? I shrugged it off & politely provided my insurance information again & was taken back for imaging. I met with two dentists who explained what will need to be done. Both very personable. However, the visit seemed to take a turn when the patient coordinator came in with an estimate for my procedure. It was going to cost $1300 to remove one impacted wisdom tooth. I was taken back by this, but they said it was mainly because my insurance didn’t cover anesthesia. At any rate, they informed me of finance options & I gave a deposit. Scheduled the procedure for the following month and left. After calling my insurance and doing some digging, I found that the quote they provided was wrong. I called, spoke to the patient coordinator & explained what I had discovered. He calls back later stating that he reached out to my insurance and it ends up they do cover the anesthesia for this procedure. He said “from past experience with this insurance it isn’t typically covered”. I was pretty annoyed by this comment since I work with insurance and understand that you always need to check because plans differ & although they might seem the same at first glance, there can be slight differences in coverage. He takes the anesthesia charge off my quote & removes the (sold as) “this is so great & so highly recommended that it’s almost not even an option” - plasma additive. We are now down to $600. Still so much more than the other two places I called and received a quote for. I asked why. He couldn’t tell me. He said he didn’t know why it was so different than the others. I asked to cancel the appointment and requested a refund for my deposit. He said he would check with the office manager and let me know. Couple weeks go by. I call again. A woman at the front desk answers, I tell her what I’m calling about. She says the patient coordinator is away and will need to be the one who assists me with this so I will need to call back when he returns. I wait.. call back a few days later & the coordinator tells me the office manager is out of the country and won’t be back for a couple weeks. He apparently can’t process the refund without her. I call back when the office manager was set to return. Coordinator tells me the office manager is playing catch up and will get to it. I explain that I’ve already waited and would like to get the ball rolling on this. He assures me the office manager knows and recommends I call back next week. I explained that I have already patiently waited and just want my money back. A simple electronic transaction that I’m sure won’t take up much time. I tell him I will call back later in the week which he responds “call as many times as you would like”. Definitely came off as super sarcastic. I called again later in the week and a woman answers, says the coordinator is out on lunch. I ask to speak with the office manager & FINALLY I get transferred to her. I briefly explained what was going on but was so over it at this point. She was trying to save the sale saying something along the lines of “the dentist is world renowned & the care you would receive here would be unmatched”. It was clear as day that my obvious disappointment regarding my experience at their practice somehow went right over her head. It took a month to get my money back and 2-3 weeks to get them to send me my pano. Painful back and forth. You know, the run around. To sum it up, I got my procedure done at Northern Virginia Oral Surgery Centers. The tooth was out in 10 minutes, no sedation even needed. Just local. Paid $160 in total. Care was amazing. Communication was superb. Do yourself a favor and do your research before locking in here.

Positive experience: Had my wisdom teeth removed with the Pashapour office this past month. I was able to schedule an intake appointment within two weeks of calling, and I actually got scheduled for my surgery two days later. I was in a lot of pain so this was much appreciated. Overall, I was very satisfied with how quickly I got this taken care of and how kind everyone at the office has been! My surgery went well so no complaints there. My only issue was that after my surgery I received a super long list of instructions after my surgery but somehow still ended up googling what to do, and when I came for my follow up I realized I wasn’t provided with the necessary cleaning materials and my socket hadn’t been rinsed properly which has led to an extended healing process. It would’ve been helpful if this info was included in my post op packet along with the cleaning syringes. I would recommend doing your research and making sure you’re made aware of all materials you need post surgery and would recommend the practice revise their post op instructions to provide more concise info. But overall, I would say I had a great experience and have still recommended the practice to others. **also want to clarify that I followed all post op cleaning instructions, foods to avoid, etc etc!

Fantastic experience: I came in for wisdom teeth removal and these people healed my dental trauma. Everyone in the office from the front desk people, the dental assistants, surgeon ALL amazing people. They were so kind and gentle and I am healing incredibly. I wish I could come back to this office just for regular dentist appointments. Thank you everyone seriously. I am eternally grateful for everything you’ve done for me.

Fantastic experience: The turn around time was phenomenal! I went in for a wisdom tooth consult and had them removed only 6 days later. I went in thinking they took my insurance but unfortunately they don't, I must have misread on the website. But they were able to work with me on pricing. Fantastic experience: I came for a consultation about a wisdom tooth extraction. The tooth was close to a nerve and I had scheduled an extraction with another surgeon, but I wanted a second opinion. Dr. Pashapour answered all my questions, the staff were kind and accommodating, and I left so impressed with the professionalism of this outfit that I rescheduled and had the procedure done here. The operation went flawlessly with no nerve damage. Dr. Pashapour gave me a number to text questions to and he responded that night when I texted with an inquiry about after-care. I was nervous going in but they reassured me that I’d be fine (shoutout Adua!) and I healed fully in about 4-5 days. Fantastic experience: I had a great/amazing experience here with the staff and Dr. Pashapour, I accidentally broke my nose and the doctor easily and quickly repaired it in a few hours. My nose is actually much better than ever. I would completely recommend this doctor and staff for any facial surgeries. Fantastic experience: This place is absolutely top notch. Every single staff member including Dr. Pashapour are super friendly and very knowledgeable. I had a granuloma removed and sent for biopsy, it was a very smooth process despite how busy it is there. They made sure I was well cared for and understood everything they were going to do.

Fantastic experience: I came to Dr. Pashapour after a horrible experience at my dentist. I had gone to Rosslyn dental to get my top right wisdom tooth extracted and after nearly ten local anesthesia injections and painful attempts at removal they said they were unable to remove it and referred me to an oral surgeon. I went to Dr. Pashapours office the day after and everyone in the staff was kind and understanding of the traumatic experience that I had in the other place. They fit me in their schedule despite not having an appointment and they were attentive every second I was there. The doctor explained to me the procedure and why the other people were unable to remove it. He was patient throughout the process and gave me multiple options for the procedure. The extraction was so smooth and fast and the recovery has been great. They made sure to have the medications ready as soon as I left their office, and they made sure to schedule a follow up to check how I was doing. I can’t say enough good things about this place from the receptionist to the entire staff and the doctor they were all fantastic from beginning to end.

Fantastic experience: I had a friend who got some wisdom teeth removed here and it came highly recommended by her. Unfortunately, if you're anything like me and have trust issues, terrified of drills/needles, anyone poking around in your mouth, and a low pain tolerance then you avoid any variation of oral doctors at any cost. I approached the office for a consultation after I started experiencing pain from wisdom teeth coming in, tried to ignore the pain for as long as possible but then became unbearable. The front office staff is so nice and I was met with even nicer techs that worked for Dr. Pashapour. I got my mouth scanned and placed in a room where Dr. Pashapour absorbed all of my issues and concerns and was penciled in for an extraction date. Day of extraction, I was sweating through my clothes with how anxious and nervous I was. I was connected to their vitals machine for continuous monitoring until it was time to start. I remember being awake one minute and then waking up thinking "wow rude of me to doze off like that", no... the extraction was done. I woke up to the back office staff placing me into a recliner and tucking me in with blankets until I was recovered properly from the anesthesia. Dr. Pashapour saw me once more in recovery and off I went with my after care instructions and designated driver. I did experience pain a few hours after extraction for which I called the office and they immediately took care of that. I write this review after my 1 week follow up appt to report that this office and Dr. Pashapour are worth every single ounce of time and money that you will spend on your teeth.

The entire team from the front desk staff, Glenda and Tiffany, were not only promptly responsive but you can tell truly care about the patient experience from scheduling to billing. I had extreme pain in one of my wisdom teeth and they were able to get me on the schedule the very next day after a consultation the same day. The staff was also great to work with from Tiffany at front desk who took care of the scheduling and financials to the PAs and the office manager. 10/10.
