Fantastic experience: My smile magic is great! My kids love coming here the staff is kind and nice. The dental doctors are very skilled and have a lot of patience for the kids. Fantastic experience: 2022- Very friendly staff. No time wasted. Fast service. Professional staff members. Definitely going back. Had a tooth removal today, the Doctor that took care of me was very friendly and explained everything exactly how it was happening. I fully recommend Smile Magic of Laredo as a place to go. Updated 06.09.2025 - I went in for a broken tooth and was looking for either an extraction or saving of the tooth. I knew saving the tooth would be expensive but didn’t realize that a down payment for the payment would be so expensive. I’m going along with an extraction but the next available date is June 25. Though I have a 7-day prescription for it until then, I can’t eat solid foods for three weeks, how inconvenient is that?!

The staff was super helpful to get my kiddos insurance changed over so we could be seen, they were able to help find my insurance as well (lost my card ). Negative experience: I scheduled an appointment after receiving a $49 promotional offer in the mail, which included X-rays, a dental exam, and a cleaning. I arrived on time, paid the $49, and got my X-rays done as expected. After that, I was taken to a separate room with a financial advisor who explained there were three types of cleanings. I was told the dentist had diagnosed me with the middle-tier cleaning—which was not included in the promotion. When I asked for the basic cleaning that was part of the $49 promo, they told me they couldn’t do it due to the diagnosis. It wasn’t optional—they flat-out said it wasn't possible. I don’t have any serious dental issues, and I felt like I had no choice but to pay the extra dollars to get my teeth cleaned. The cleaning itself felt rough, and messy. Literally had my saliva and water all over my face and neck, and after trying to clean it myself, the person doing the cleaning told me he can do it, doing a terrible job. As a business owner myself, I understand the strategy of using promotional deals to get people in the door. But the way this was handled felt misleading and frankly, a bit predatory. If someone didn’t have the extra money, they’d end up leaving with nothing—even after paying the $49. Thankfully, I could afford it, but what about families who can’t? They would’ve walked away empty-handed, which is completely unfair. This experience left a bad taste in my mouth. However, the staff at the front desk, especially the person who handled the financial aspect of the transaction, were great and gave me no issues.

Fantastic experience: This is one of the best dental locations I've been to. I am afraid of dentists (being a 29 year old) and I've had my fair share of trauma with the dentist; however, everytime I go here it's always friendly greetings and all smiles. Of course you can't see their smiles behind their masks but you can see they are smiling. My dentist is the same one for my husband and our son. This is how much we like the place. She looks very young but is extremely capable. She notifies you when she is going to do something so you prepare for the pain or helps ease the pain with their anesthesia. The staff is always friendly and they remember us from just the first visit alone. I highly recommend this place, best time to go for your appointments are the early hours when they open, there isn't much people there especially on Saturday morning. My family has the PPO plan so we have the same doctor. They also accept the basic one and help you find one that is affordable so you won't have to pay a huge sum put of pocket. They also notify of all the cots on detail and show you what needs to be done before it happens the costs are explained. Also, if you get cold easily (like I do) they provide a blanket for you so you can keep warm. There are TVs everywhere one wheel sitting down and another while laying down as they work on your teeth. There are a couple more in the lobby as well as the kids playground. Everything is cleaned after every use and really well-maintained. With that said, I really truly do recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Smile magic is a great dental clinic new to the location and I found this place by googling they helped me call my insurance to change drs they have a very nice play ground and tablets super cute they have massage chairs and as soon as you arrive they take you in very quick the assistants are very kind and friendly the dr comes to attend you right away and they give your child or children little bags balloons toys it’s a 10/10 for us

Negative experience: My experience was not satisfying here. The first thing I asked was to let me know what my insurance would cover for the deep cleaning I wanted done. After having my X-rays done and the doctor checking my teeth, they put me in a room with a lady who told me my insurance only covers 50%, which is not true. My insurance covers 70% of a deep clean with no copay. We could have avoided this if they had told me they are not in-network instead of trying to do a bait and switch. Other than that, the back room staff are friendly.
