Negative experience: I’m overly disappointed. I have heard great things about this office. I called to schedule an appointment after being recommended by my friend Shirley. Upon calling a young lady answered the phone and from the start I was talked to rudely and I kindly asked if they are in network with Aetna insurance. she said ugh hold on placed me on hold and said “NO we are out of network” before I got another word in I was hung up on. I decided the next day to walk in and make an appointment. When I walked in around 11am there was absolutely nobody at the front desk for such a big office I found that odd. Then out of nowhere a young girl came running from down the hall. I was interested in the micro needling they have a sign out for. I asked a few questions and the young woman named Delia who I believe hung up on me was very unhelpful and sounded like I was being a burden to ask these questions. Very unprofessional of her to be the one to actually do the “procedure” and not be confident to explain the process to me. I left after a dreadful conversation and not even asked if I would like to schedule to see a doctor. I apologize if this is a rant but this was a unpleasant experience especially with the “front desk girl”

So very thankful we chose North River Denistry. Such friendly, understanding and comforting staff. From the first phone call to exam and final procedure it was a outstanding experience. I was more than pleasantly surprised and impressed by the level of care and professionalism at NRD. So far, each visit has been virtually pain free, the staff is reassuring and patient, and I’m very pleased with my results. Recommend highly!! 11/21; Only one visit left and I’m happy to say I feel the same way I did in August. So pleased with the level of care and concern!! And so happy with me new smile!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient at North River Dental for 10 years. I’ve never had any problems and just went in for routine cleanings and check ups. Recently I woke up with terrible tooth pain. I called Shannon, the office manager and she got me right in. I ended up needing a tooth extraction and eventually a bridge. Dr. Raj and Dr Steinberg were so thorough, professional and caring. Also Sara and Heather were wonderful. The whole office is caring, organized and professional. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dental office in all of manatee county. The staff are always very friendly and very accommodating and they don’t beat around the bush or try to charge you an outrageous amount of money up front. A few years ago I had to have two emergency root canals done and I called/went to about 9 other offices in the area and was turned away by all of them for the work being “too complicated” I went to north river one time and had the work done the same day. They are truly incredible at what they do!

Fantastic experience: Everyone was very friendly and professional. They are extremely organized. The office is pleasant with a warm atmosphere. We have yet to comment on the dentist (more to come after procedure), but he seems very competent, and communicates every detail.

I appreciate dentists who don’t prescribe more expensive work than is necessary. Had to leave North River after they wanted to do a$400 cleaning. Negative experience: Been there for over 10 years. Recently the partners sold the practice. Now if you look to reschedule your appointment, they will push you out 6 months without exception. Very rude front desk person Michael answers the phone, full of attitude. Will need to find a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: i had an amazing experience! from the second i walked in the door i felt welcomed and appreciated! everything was done in a timely manner! during my exam with Dr. Raj he took his time and explained to me everything he saw! Vanessa was great taking my x-rays and my hygienist was very thorough and talked me through every step she was taking. Amazing experience!

Fantastic experience: 7/30/2024 Our family has been with this practice since 2018. We're happy with it's professional staff(both Admin and Dental). They are great at scheduling for general cleaning and also if you have issues with other dental problems. The facility is always clean and inviting. I recommend them for any dental needs. 9/15/25 Had another nice dental cleaning by my Hygienist, PERLA. She was efficient and professional. Always concerned if I had any discomfort. This is a very good practice. My wife and adult son also go here and they are pleased with North River Dental.

Fantastic experience: Had a cavity filled. Dr. Raj Mukkamala did a great job. I Didn't feel a thing. The staff is always friendly and professional. A day later I had to have a crown. Dr. Delrose was assisted by Dena and they both did outstanding job. I was out of the office in about 1/2 hour. They explained everything as they were performing the procedure and were able to put me at ease as the dentist office is not one of my favorite places. Their friendly and professional interaction makes this a dentist office I now am comfortable visiting. I cant say enough about all the staff from the receptionist to the Doctors. They treat you like family and really make you feel comfortable.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to north river for my dental care for 2 years now and they give great care. Manny is my hygienist tech and he is superb, always aware of every detail and very considerate and when there's been an issue for the dentist to deal with, he's spot on also.

Negative experience: I had my dental work done here and I had new upper work done because they had to shave the bone back on my top jaw my other dental work that was 7 years old and done in PA was in perfect condition had no problems with it this one is just barely 5 years old if that and it has a crack in it and I have to pay for it I think that's completely wrong and I'm not happy and I never would recommend this place I take care of my dental hygiene because the work I had done cost just about $15 grand all together and some of it was obviously made poorly and I've seen through the reviews that somebody else's dental work was poorly made and cracked and broke so that tends to tell me something! It's hard not to be upset when you pay all this money for your smile and it's done poorly .

Positive experience: I have been a patient here since 1994, (when I moved to FL) I have always had a great experience! I loved Dr Steinberg and his assistant Bobby Jo! Unfortunately, Dr Steinberg has retired and for WHATEVER reason, Bobby Jo is no longer there!! On August 6, 2025 I went for a normal check up and cleaning. (AFTER BEING STUCK IN MY CAR FOR 30 MINUTES TRYING TO GET THERE, DUE TO A ACCIDENT, tieing up traffic), I finally arrived on time and my face was beet red and was so hot from being in the car and the outside temp! The receptionist kindly gave me a bottle of water!! I was put in a room where the air was hardly working and even Dr Raj commented on it! I ASKED the hygienist if she could move me to another room and she said no, that there is only 3 other rooms and they were all filled! For me, I thought her voice was loud and couldn't understand her very well. . .But, she did a good job! Now it's time to check out and I think his name was Shawn and he told me I had a copay of $10.00 I gave him a $20 bill and he said he didn't have any change! So, I said can he just put it on my account or bill me and he said NO, I have to pay with credit or debit card! (I mumbled, no wonder Bobby Jo isn't here anymore!) This is the first time I have ever experienced anything like in my 30 plus years I've been going there! FYI, my insurance allows me to go 3 times a year, so I'm not a stranger to North River Dental!! I especially appreciate your using that microneedle to administer the pain medication.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I just moved to Florida full time. George is having full dental replacements with the Hybridge System. Everyone at the office has been wonderful with him! I have been to the Dental Hygienist, and had my first real dental appointment today. Dr. Steinberg was extremely gentle and skilled. Bobbie Jo is great too. She is very knowledgeable and kind. I can’t express enough what a positive experience going here has been. They are stuck with us for life!!

Negative experience: I went for a root canal. They over charge insurance. They give you a plan and then they said the insurance is Max limit. I got half of my mouth clean and the other half I couldn’t afford I need to paid out pocket is was almost $400 just for the left side of the mouth

The young lady never flossed my teeth which was always done and I have a bridge in my mouth and the previous hygniest aways flossed under the bridge. None of this happened. Fantastic experience: Experiencing major tooth pain, I was very grateful when North River Dental Office was able to get me in with a same day appointment. Not only were they able to help me get rid of the horrible tooth pain but I also was able to get a very detailed comprehensive x-ray exam to prepare for future visits. Fantastic experience: Once I arrived everything was great. I discovered the pre arrival call to schedule an appt, was not handled as well. My phone number was incorrect and the practice could not reach me. I provided all my Dental insurance information on that pre arrival call only to learn once there that my insurance was not accepted at this practice. This is a significant issue to the tune of thousands of dollars. Once in the office the care I received was top notch. I recommend when scheduling that you endure you are in communication with their office location.

Positive experience: The Highlight of the office, is definitely for me, your Dental Hygienist. She is super nice, along with being very efficient and doing an excellent cleaning. One of the best I have ever had. She gets a 5 star review for me - she is an asset to the Practice. All of the staff were helpful and pleasant. The reason for the 3 star review, is because of the cardboard x-rays. They hurt. I would definitely come back for the 6 month cleaning, but will look elsewhere for x-rays and dental work. Also, the office does not participate in my insurance plan. which is Medicare/Aetna Preferred PPO and I feel that is pretty common, and I haven’t had a problem finding participating providers before. Being on a fixed income, the upfront cost is a bit difficult, especially if I had X-rays and dental work done.

Fantastic experience: I had the best dental treatment experience here. Bonnie was very friendly and patient to finish the establishment ppwk with me and clarified the insurance policy. Bobbie was very skilled and considerate in getting all the images done correctly, very minimum uncomfy but necessary, which will absolutely help future treatment. Not to mention my dentists, very professional and caring. Get my teeth a very comprehensive checked and cleaned! Thanks. I'm sure I will see them again.

After living in the area for six years and trying several dentists without finding the right fit, I was relieved to discover Dr. Krauss. Two days ago, I lost a cap and was in urgent need of assistance. The front desk staff at North River Dental were incredibly friendly and accommodating, managing to get me in for an appointment quickly. Right from the start, I felt welcomed and valued as a patient. Fantastic experience: North River has really morphed into a more affordable, more State of the Art facility since my last review. Prices appear more family conscious than a few years ago, and the staff (that is new to me anyway) really work as a team. Today I had very comprehensive work done and I was amazed at every step of a four part bridge. If you are tired of trying to find a great dentist (as I was) this is a must go see. North River Dental is the last Dental firm I ever hope to have and I blew through a lot of young dentist who only made matters worse before I went to North River Dental who saved me, my teeth, and a lot of stress and gets it right the first time! I needed multiple crowns and unfortunately tried the low cost crown lures first and what a mess and expense that was. I finally picked this firm based on reviews and reputation and they were REAL reviews! Glad I did.
