I’m in the military so I’ve had military dental and civilian dental in 4 different states but this was amazing from start to finish. I have immense gratitude to Rayann who made me feel so comfortable and less anxious. There was no pain and very quick. Never thought I would say this, but can’t wait to be back!

Fantastic experience: Whenever I have an appointment at Raintree Dental I am greeted nicely. The receptionist explains the procedures scheduled . I am promptly taken to the exam room by the dental hygienist. She is cheerful and takes time to explain better oral hygiene and showed me the products she uses. This was memorable and effective; as I am more apt to actually buy these same products to improve my dental care. “ Raintree is number one “ ! They are a cut above !

Negative experience: My dental cleaning was scheduled for 7am, I arrived on time and was checked in quickly……I was back in my vehicle by 715! What does that say, the hygienist. Such a rushed cleaning, flossing took less than 60seconds and polishing wasn’t much longer. If you want your teeth actually cleaned I would recommend going somewhere else

Fantastic experience: My entire experience with the dentist and his assistant when my crown from a different dentist came off was amazing.

Positive experience: I was a bit disappointed having booked my appointment six months in advance and I get a call the week before saying I needed to change my 10 AM appointment to another day. After conversation with the rep reschedule it for 12 o’clock on the day of my original appointment. When arriving they act surprised that I was there for a 12 o’clock appointment. Even though they had sent me a text, confirming it as well as sending me a text 10 o’clock appointment. This would not be as big an issue, except I do not live in the immediate area anymore and come back for my appointments. The dental hygienist was polite and did a great job and a doctor came in and a consultation was good as usual. Overall good except the scheduling issues.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was warm and friendly and eager to help with whatever I needed. Kendall did an exceptionally good job with my X-rays and cleaning. Dr. Pennington was very kind and gentle. Overall a 5 star performance for Raintree family dental!

Fantastic experience: 10/10, 5 stars, A++. If I could give this place thousands of reviews I totally would! I have the worst dental anxiety due to past trauma. My body starts to shake as soon as I hit the chair— I just can’t help it. Due to that, I have not been able to drag myself to the dentist. My teeth are good, ok, not in perfect condition by any means. Here recently, I had very sharp tooth pain and I called around locally to see if I can get fit in, emergency, Dr Z and his staff did NOT hesitate, and got me in 10 minutes after I called. Long story short, the staff and the Dr handled me with the upmost, amazing, professional and caring, care I have ever received from a dentist. Specifically, I think her name is Emma? Petite, long hair, almost a reddish tone to her hair! I want to give her big hugs. She comforted me, reminded me to breathe, placed her hand on my shoulder when the Dr was working on my teeth. She really knows how to handle clients that have dental anxiety and she deserves all the recognition. She seriously, helped me tremendously. Dr Z himself, is phenomenal and very knowledgeable, and is not there to treat you just for the money. He also helped me lots with calming down, talking to me about things, having laughs. I believe this will be my new dentist. Thank you all!

Fantastic experience: When we moved to Lee's Summit and had to find a new dentist, we checked the providers that accepted our dental plan, and then the reviews. Raintree Family Dental was highly rated and conveniently located at 291 & 150 highway, by Raintree Lake. Dr. Z, Anna the hygienist, Zoey and Melissa in the office worked together to make me feel at ease, and the new patient special of $99 covered x-rays, exam, and cleaning. Anna also reviewed my history and made suggestions about the type of electric toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, floss and waterpick. I actually look forward to my next appointment in 6 months!

Positive experience: Love this dentist and his staff - very friendly. But I really dislike the way they try and sneak extra charges in … “Just sign right here and it looks like it will just be $xx out of pocket for you today”. Um, no. My insurance covers the cleaning that I made the appointment for and came in to have. Please don’t add extras and then try to slip them by before my appointment. Just be honest and upfront and ask if I would like to add any extras (and if so, the cost will be $xx). I thought they were done with this since they didn't ask me at my last visit. But then they did it again to my daughter on her visit a few days later (and why my email received another request to review them)

Positive experience: I really like the hygienists and the dentist but I don’t have dental insurance since I retired and was in the chair for a maximum of 12 minutes. It cost $200 for an exam, cleaning and fluoride. I hope this is average because I really like them, but it felt like a lot for 12 minutes. Grabbing a complimentary chapstick made me feel a little better leaving

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Raintree Family Dental Care! I was referred to them by a current patient and family member, and they are the absolute best. Dr. Ziegenhorn was super nice and very informative and answered all my questions. And my hygienist (I don’t recall her name, so sorry!) was absolutely exceptional! She took her time to explain everything, answered all my questions, took her time to check in during my cleaning to make sure I was doing ok, and was just wonderful all around! Wonderful customer service all around!

Positive experience: First time ever that I had to remind them to floss under my bridge as well as my teeth, and not receive a complimentary toothbrush and toothpaste goodie bag! But they were nice!

Positive experience: I liked it. I thought it was strange that I had to pay extra for cancer screening and a fluoride treatment. I thought those were included at my other dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Pennington and the staff are amazing! Everything is clearly explained. I’ve had invasive dental work done here. The results are amazing and the procedure was painless. My whole family goes to Dr. Pennington and I could not imagine choosing anyone else — and I’m picky! There are lots of dentists to choose from in the KC area, but this practice is the best I’ve found.

Negative experience: Transferring from an office that corporate is closing and was told my appointment was to get my Invisalign trays to only find out that they had not been ordered and I wasted three weeks to just reapprove my trays and am now waiting for them to come in again. Completely disappointed with how everything is being handled.

Positive experience: I have no problems with the dental care at raintree dental. But I have repeated problems every time I check in. When I check in for my 6 month cleanings they always add stuff like cancer screening to my bill and tell me that's what I owe for today's visit. I was never asked if I wanted the service or approved it or given the option for it. They just add it and try to get me to pay for it. They gladly remove it, but they shouldn't even add it without asking me first. I have asked repeatedly for them to stop doing this and not to try to add costs that are not covered by my insurance without discussing it. There is a note on my account not to do it but they keep doing it every time I go in and it makes me angry. It makes me wonder how many other people are paying for things they don't realize are being added at a cost without knowing its optional.

Fantastic experience: Raintree Dental is top notch starting with Dr. Z. He is very patient-centered, he’s honest about what you need, he listens, and he has a good sense of humor. Everyone else from the front to the back have been pleasant and knowledgeable. Emma helped with my recent crown and was amazing! I’ve been going here over 10 years and come back from out of town for my dental care since moving away.

Negative experience: Very bad experience. I heard they only pay their front office staff around 17/hour and you get what you pay for. They clearly don't care about the patients or the work they do but I understand they need a paycheck.

Fantastic experience: Front desk staff are kind and helpful. Each of the dental hygienists we’ve seen have been gentle, approachable and soooo patient with our pre-k aged son. Dr. Dez listens to our concerns and provides education when needed. Update: Still loving Raintree Family Dental! And they still love us because no one has kicked us out for bringing an 8 year old human encyclopedia of all things Pokémon who talks through his parents’ cleanings

I have a lot of fear and anxiety about the dentist, from bad childhood experiences, but I have had such good appointments that I may become one of those odd people who likes the dentist, ha! Grateful for their friendly staff and customer service. It really means a lot.

Negative experience: When this was at the other location I gave this place a great review. The New facility I have been let down. Cancelling appointments when I schedule them six months out on the same day. My teeth didn't get cleaned as good as they used to after my previous visits. I felt rushed in the chair. The list is starting to grow. May be time to find another Dentist after being a patient for over 10 years

Fantastic experience: By far the best dental office I’ve been to. Great dentists and assistants. Everyone is super friendly and informative. I needed to either have an implant or a bridge to fill in a missing tooth. I was not pressured to choose either, I was informed of the pros/cons of both procedures and was able to make a decision that was best for me, not what the office was going to benefit more from. I also convinced my husband, who hates dentists, to start going to Raintree Dental and he loves them. He’s had some bad experiences in the past and expressed his concerns to the staff. They took his concerns and have made all his visits comfortable.

Negative experience: I don't "get" the unnecessary charges at this office, giving fluoride to adults? There's a reason ins doesn't cover past age 18, It's because they deem it unnecessary. Recommending a pan xray bc it's covered by ins? What's the purpose? It's because this dental office is now a corporation, everything changes when it's all about the $$. And the oral cancer screening? When the dentist comes in & does the exam, he would see any abnormalities in the tissues, so why is there an xtra charge called an "oral cancer screening/exam"? Ins doesn't cover it & why? Bc they see it as an unnecessary chg. Bitewings are of course necessary periodically to check for decay but random x-rays of other teeth when there are no issues or sensitivity? Our poor ins companies, no wonder premiums are so high

My brother has autism and when I explained that to them, they were so considerate and helpful. They answered all our questions with a smile and always made sure we understood. We live 40 mins away but we will DEFINITELY be coming back again and again.

I had to bring my 10mo old baby. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. They were efficient and got me done quickly all while I held my baby to keep him happy. It was so great. Only had 1 out of 2 appointments for a deep cleaning so far and I am floored by the results I’m already seeing!!! Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr. Pennington for almost a year.. I think. She’d done a lot of work for me! She’s constantly going out of her way to make sure I and her other patients are good. Dr. Pennington has a heart of gold, and she will really do ANYTHING to save your teeth. Dr. Pennington is very professional, clean, and to the point. The clinic is very clean and homey feeling. I went from having anxiety about going in to the dentist, to loving going!
