Negative experience: Lack of transparency and unacceptable practices We had a very bad experience with Maggie Pediatric Dental in Palm Harbor. Before the appointment, I explicitly requested that a treatment estimate be sent to our insurance so we could know our out-of-pocket cost. I also asked for confirmation before the first visit, to make sure we could afford the treatment. We never received any response. On the day of the appointment, assuming the insurance coverage was in place, we were shocked to learn that nothing was covered and that everything was at our expense. At that point, our child already needed care, leaving us with no realistic way to cancel or step back. This put unnecessary pressure on parents and reflects a serious lack of transparency. This type of practice is unacceptable, especially when dealing with children and families. I do not recommend this office.

We have a dedicated team member who reaches out directly to parents who request preauthorizations, and we always welcome and encourage families to call in at any time to check on their account or estimates.
We would be happy to share the documentation showing our attempts to reach you, as we did try contacting you on two separate occasions. We were able to leave a voicemail on the first attempt; however, on the second attempt the voicemail mailbox was full and we were unable to leave a message.
I’m sorry to hear that this was your experience. During your initial visit, we did review that insurance benefits can vary and that there may be a remaining balance after insurance processes the initial claim. At no point do we tell parents that they have no other options for care, and we are always happy to provide X-rays to another doctor for a second opinion when requested at no charge. As reviewed during the initial treatment plan process, insurance is billed as a courtesy for our patients. While we work with insurance companies on your behalf, coverage decisions are ultimately made by the insurance provider. In some ways, this is similar to a credit card transaction, if a payment is declined or processed differently than expected, the responsibility lies with the card issuer (bank) rather than the merchant. Please feel free to give us a call at your earliest convenience so we can review everything together and work toward earning a better rating from you.

Fantastic experience: My son is non-verbal Autistic and almost 3 y/o and had his first dental apt today at Dr. Maggie's office. I knew of them through my son's daycare having them in for an educational session and through a co-worker. We had THE BEST experience! I called on a Monday and was able to get him in that Thursday. The pre-registerimg process was super easy & thorough. The office is easy to find & clean. They have a new patient welcome sign when you walk in with the children's names on it - felt like a very personal touch seeing my son's name on that board! We rcv'd a tour within the first 5 minutes of being there. All the staff is happy and friendly and Mateo's hygienist was SOOOOO sweet & patient with him and the Doctor was so sweet & informative. Hardly any wait to be seen. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love Dr. Maggie and entire staff! Took my almost 2 year old son in for his first cleaning appointment this morning and they did so well with him. He first went to them at 6 days old for a tongue tie procedure and it was the same doctor and dental hygienist! They are so great with my older daughter who has been a little more hesitant but they are so kind and patient with her. I would not go anywhere else. Love them and you will too!

Fantastic experience: We went for a second opinion. Dr Maggie and stuff were very knowledgeable and they made us feels secure that our boy was in good hands. We were able to take care of my son dental problem same day. Dr Maggie has the best hands, no need for pain medication, the area heal great. We are very happy we chose this practice. Negative experience: I first want to start off and say, all of the office staff from the front desk, back office, and clinical were very friendly and great with my child and me. They were also quick to get him in for an emergency visit and offer the convenience of scheduling online. They have a nice room in the waiting area with toys for younger kids, as well as a few tablets to play on outside of this room. Here is where I was less satisfied and want to give my experience for any parents considering a dentist who offers holistic care, or are referred here by a biological dentist for extractions. If you don't mind the below, this may be the dental office for you. The exam is performed in an area with several other chairs, and it felt uncomfortable and less intimate while doing an exam of the mouth and discussing details. This area had a play area with toys and a treasure box. Procedures are not performed in this area. The exam with Dr. Alter did feel rushed. They do not accept any dental insurance, which means they are considered out-of-network, which typically means insurance reimburses at a lower rate than they would if they were in-network, making your portion higher. I do not mind and expected this, but many parents may consider this when making a decision. They do offer Cherry and CareCredit. I was charged an additional $61 for ONE close-up X-ray of a tooth without being told before performance. They asked me if I wanted a cleaning performed, but failed to add this to the treatment plan, which may have caused an unexpected increase in my cost. I have read there is a concern about cost transparency in a few of the aforementioned reviews, and I experienced this. The treatment plan included nitrous sedation (not covered by dental insurance but affordable) AND IV sedation ($1,200 for 60 minutes, requires a down payment, and may increase or decrease depending on the length of time it takes on the day of, and is not covered by dental or medical insurance unless it involves impacted teeth, ie, wisdom teeth. This, I have been told outside of this office, is industry standard and usually priced as they quoted.) They also require a separate appointment to discuss IV sedation and payment, which was scheduled 1-2 weeks out. I was told this was to allow a response from the insurance, but my son's pain reoccurred before this appointment and immediately after his consultation. A question I received when calling around to other dentists, as well as inquiring in online groups, was why both nitrous and IV sedation? Per the dentist, nitrous is used for IV placement. This was all a red flag. This treatment plan additionally included extractions, pulpotomies with metal crowns, and resin fillings. I was somewhat surprised that they wanted to perform a pulpotomy (baby root canal, essentially a partially dead tooth and impossible to clear out all of the infection), and place metal. They did offer Zirconia as an alternative when requested. Dr. Alter did explain that during a pulpotomy, they leave part of the live nerve (versus taking the whole nerve with a pulpectomy). I was able to contact a few dentists, including our preferred biological dentist, who was able to extract teeth that same week. My child did great before, during, and after, and it was $50 less per tooth and took just a few minutes. This dentist also stated that the fillings, one of which was not a primary tooth, were not necessary. The exam and X-rays here included a panoramic at $100 less, of which a portion of this cost was rolled into the treatment plan. Their plan was HALF the estimated cost and did not include both modes of sedation, pulpotomies, crowns, or fillings. They also identified overcrowding in his teeth and a small palate, and are addressing this - a plan that seems less of a temporary fix than what I was provided at Dr. Maggie's. Be aware and always get a second or third opinion.

Negative experience: I absolutely love this office but their financial practices are pretty gross. They quote you one thing and then expect you to pay double. I do understand they are out of network for everyone but 4-500 for a dental cleaning on a child is ridiculous. I don’t ever leave reviews but I think I people should be warned. Was told an appt was cleared with insurance and remainder would be around 400 for a procedure and a week later after procedure was completed was charged almost 1000 with no mention of a change. It’s hard to believe they really care about children’s dental care when every experiment with them has been like this. Disgusting.

As a courtesy, we submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. After the claim is sent, it’s up to the insurance company to process and cover the costs they estimate they will pay. Unfortunately, we have no control over the insurance’s decisions, and they may not always cover the full amount. This is a common practice in many dental offices, and we understand how this can sometimes be frustrating for patients.
I’d like to encourage parents to contact their insurance company directly to discuss any discrepancies or coverage questions, as we rely on them to provide the necessary payment.
Think of your insurance in a similar way to a credit card; if there’s an issue with the payment, you would reach out to your card company rather than the merchant. As for the treatment costs, we always provide a signed treatment plan that outlines the full fee, insurance coverage, and the patient’s portion. I apologize if the breakdown wasn’t fully explained during your visit. I believe the confusion may have arisen if the focus was placed mainly on the patient portion, and if the insurance didn’t cover their part, it led to an unexpected balance. We’ll make sure to be clearer in the future about explaining all sections of the treatment plan to avoid any confusion.

Fantastic experience: My 6yr old had a great experience with Dr. Maggie for his filling. She used a new technology called the SOAN injection wand to numb him. It is more precise and doesn’t leave a numb lip or cheek. It was so nice not to worry about him accidentally biting himself after! He was able to eat dinner like normal and didn’t complain about any discomfort. Dr. Maggie makes this so easy for the child and the parent! Thank you!!

Positive experience: It’s definitely a very kid friendly experience. Lots for the kids to play with and a treasure box at the end. I booked my appointment and explained what I was coming in for and took the time to give my insurance. I get there and am told they don’t take insurance, and they also thought I was in for a cleaning which was not the case. I said on the phone X-rays were taken previously and where… they did not have them and took another xray unnecessarily. They called it a photo because of what my concern was so I just went with it, but didn’t know what to say/do where they took her in for the xray. Would have rather they waited to have what was already taken… When you come in you get a tour of the office. Again nice, but a bit too much. Then they sent a post card to my daughter which was nice. And I wouldn’t find it to be too much maybe if it wasn’t for the fact that they took my insurance, then tell me they don’t take it, then I explained I’d like to use my HSA however there was fraud and I didn’t have my new card yet. They were nice enough to let me pay once I have the card, I said I’d call as soon as I have it… they called me every day, multiple times a day for a $45 payment. I appreciate the hospitality and the kid friendly environment and niceties but the tactics for essentially upselling and creating financial pressure just a tad uncomfortable.

As a courtesy, we did allow for a delayed payment, though our policy is to collect at the time of service. This is outlined in the forms included with the new patient paperwork, which was completed before the appointment. Regarding the X-rays, we rely on parents to ensure that prior X-rays are sent over in advance, as we’re not permitted to request them ourselves without a signed release form. Without these, we can’t proceed with a proper diagnosis during the exam, and we have to take new X-rays to ensure we are providing the best care possible for your child.
We understand that these details can sometimes be a bit overwhelming, and we truly appreciate your understanding. Our team made decisions based on what was best for your child's health, and we always strive to provide the highest level of care.

Negative experience: Patients genuinely appreciate transparency when it comes to fees, and it is frustrating to be told one thing only to receive an unexpected bill later. Most physicians and dental offices routinely review costs with patients before proceeding with any services or procedures. Many of the negative reviews could be avoided if the front desk simply informed patients of expected charges—even for routine visits like a cleaning—as is standard practice in many offices. It’s disappointing to see this continues to be overlooked, despite concerns from multiple patients. As a courtesy, we submit claims to insurance on the patients behalf. After the claim is sent, it’s up to the insurance company to process and cover the costs they estimate they will pay. Unfortunately, we have no control over the insurance’s decisions, and they may not always cover the full amount. This is a common practice in many dental offices, and we understand how this can sometimes be frustrating for patients.
I like to encourage parents to contact their insurance company directly to discuss any discrepancies or coverage questions, as we rely on them to provide the necessary payment. Think of insurance in a similar way to a credit card; if there’s an issue with the payment, you would reach out to your card company rather than the merchant.
As for the treatment costs, we always provide a signed treatment plan that outlines the full fee, insurance coverage, and the patient’s portion. I apologize if the breakdown wasn’t fully explained during your visit. I believe the confusion may have arisen if the focus was placed mainly on the patient portion, and if the insurance didn’t cover that part, it led to an unexpected balance. We’ll make sure to be clearer in the future about explaining all sections of the treatment plan to avoid any confusion.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Maggie and her team were amazing from start to finish. My little guy is 3 and took a bad fall knocking his mouth pretty hard. He has never been to the dentist before and having this be his first experience where one of the teeth had to be extracted could have been really traumatic. The office fit me in right away. The help at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The Hygienist who was with use from start to finish was amazingly kind and understanding with my little guys who was scared and fighting the process. I was there for the extraction and they took so much care to make it as quick as possible. Dr. Maggie answered all of my questions and concerns thoughtfully. Fantastic experience: I was in search of a dentist for my daughter after we moved. The first dentist fell through, and the last two we saw were not good. Fantastic experience: Dr. Maggie, Dr. Lorielle, Dr. Kiskadden and their entire staff are the absolute best pediatric dental office ever to be found. Anyone who brings their children to their practice will know from their very first visit, that they have been truly blessed with their choice of care for their "babies". I have been coming here for over 10 years and this is the first time my 15 year old "baby" had succumbed to the reality of her first cavity (and hopefully last.... ) "Oh my goodness drama". Fantastic experience: I sought a new dentist for my children after my daughter started complaining about pain near a tooth that she had had filled at a family dentist just six months prior. Dr. Davis was able to get us in quickly and right away, I knew that I had made the right move in switching dentists. From the kind front desk staff to the pleasant waiting room, I felt at ease from the minute I stepped foot in her practice. My daughter ended up needing a tooth extraction and spacer which isn’t the best news to get, but Dr. Davis gave me all the facts and explained everything they would do to make sure my daughter feel comfortable. My daughter’s only complaint about the procedure was that they kept blocking the TV so I would say it was a success! She loves her new dentist and despite having to get dental work done, is not afraid to go back. Rave reviews all around!

Fantastic experience: It was a smooth and wonderful experience. Dr. Maggie & her assistance were very friendly & courteous. I could tell Dr. Maggie is Genuinely a caring person. My 12yr old son needed a problem baby tooth pulled. They got him in quickly and took care of the tooth on the 1st visit. I can't say enough about how comfortable & relaxed them made him feel . He was pretty nervous, but they walked him through every step of the way. And when they gave him the Numbing shot, he had no idea they even did it. The "shot" was his biggest fear. And not to mention pulling the tooth... he was completely unaware. I've been to many Dentist throughout my life but this for sure was my favorite. They truly are Specialist. Negative experience: Very shady. Immediately brought my daughter back before discussing insurance/payment, anything. The dentist looked in her mouth for about a minute and then someone approaches me about insurance and let's me know they don't accept our insurance and it'll be out of pocket today. I ask to stop services because I was under the impression her insurance was accepted. We go to the front where she let's me know it would be 200$ due Immediately to pay for the "exam". The dentist looked in her mouth for 60 seconds max before we stopped. I have never had an encounter like this with any doctor/dentist where something was preformed prior to discussing fees and payment. It felt very manipulative and shady, parents should be consenting to services prior to being charged.

Fantastic experience: My son has extreme dental anxiety coupled with quite a few dental concerns. Dr. Maggie and her staff were wonderful from the moment we walked in. They were extremely patient and allowed my son a few extra mins to warm up to it all. She was thorough in her exam and they explained every bit of every step along the way. I am confident that all concerns are properly being addressed and that we are in the best hands possible. Definitely a highly recommend practice!

Negative experience: In response to your comment-I had worked with a LC and body worker prior to my son's tie release and continued after. However, it's clear he wasn't ready for the release when it was done, and I trusted Dr. Davis' expertise to determine that. We saw another dentist and she does recommend tongue and lip tie revision, as well as bottom lip and cheek releases, but won't do so until he is ready. We are now seeing an SLP for feeding support as he's struggled with solids. We are also doing more body work and oral function work to prepare for that. I tell anyone I can to not go to this office for tie releases, it has caused so much extra stress for me and my son. I'm heartbroken for him. The fees for this are much higher than the new office, and they specialize in oral ties. My son saw Dr. Davis at about 2 weeks old for a tongue and lip tie release. The staff was kind and reassuring. We were given stretches to do at home and had 2 follow ups afterwards. I requested an additional one because I was concerned as we saw no improvement with feeding, gas, lip blisters. I was reassured that everything looked good. Now 4.5 months later we are still dealing with issues and now likely going to need a tongue tie revision. I advise anyone considering a tie release to look into bodywork and oral motor work PRIOR to getting it done rather than allowing them to do it same day. My heart breaks for my little guy. In addition, we asked about cheeks release and were advised by both dentists in the office that it wasn't warranted. I have had another dentist, a myofascial therapist and a PT/craniosacral therapist all recommend this based on my son's oral function. We also had trouble getting a response from the office about paperwork needed for our insurance company. I had to email and call 3-4 times to get this done, only for insurance to deny our claim. I think Dr. Davis is probably wonderful for general dentistry, but I think the before/after care for tie released is not adequate.

Negative experience: "We Make Pediatric Dentistry Affordable" is one of the key things listed on the website. This was our first ever dental visit and we received the following service: -Cleaning which was basically brushing his teeth with a rubber looking round brush -About 5 minutes with the doctor where they examined his teeth for any visible issues -4 xray images when a super quick recap as my son was ready to go All about 30 minutes total. I almost fainted when we got to the counter and I was presented with a bill of $347. $347 for a first time visit with no issues is NOT affordable! I take responsibility for not asking and just assuming affordable meant not half of my weekly paycheck.

During a comprehensive new patient exam, our doctors perform a full intraoral and extraoral evaluation, including an assessment of facial growth, airway development, and jaw alignment, a screening for oral cancer and pathology, an evaluation of tooth eruption patterns (to determine if a child is dentally advanced or delayed), a review of the child’s medical history and behavior. X-rays, when appropriate, to detect cavities between the teeth, monitor developing teeth, and identify any concerns not visible to the naked eye, a professional cleaning, fluoride treatment, and oral hygiene instruction tailored to the child’s age and needs. This initial visit serves not only to assess your child’s current oral health but also to establish a long-term dental home. Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Maggie & Dr. Lorielle and all the staff. My kids are not the most patient when it comes to their dental appointments and sitting in the cleaning chair. I love that both dentists and all the hygienists are calm with them and meet them at their level to help ease their nerves. They are also very explanatory in what is going on and what options we can take. I don’t feel cornered into any decision with complicated issues we have faced either. Highly recommend as do many local dentists for pediatric needs.

Fantastic experience: They are the best! My son has been diagnosed with autism and they do everything to make him feel comfortable! They are concerned with fighting cavities and keeping him as comfortable as can be at the same time! I’ve been taking my son for about two years now. Fantastic experience: I just want to shout out Dr. Maggie & Associates Pediatric Dentist. Their service is top notch. This morning one of their office people saw my post about needing an emergency pediatric dentist, they prepped the staff and ensured they blocked time off in case l I had called. They got my daughter in right away, calming her down as soon as we walked in. The front office staff was so kind, walked me through what to expect and financing options. I had to take my younger son with me and they took care of him while I sat in the back with my daughter. They entertained him, gave him snacks and treats since were there a very long time. They were able to help my daughter and fix her teeth same day. The biggest shoutout to the front receptionist I believe her name was Michelle and also Alex, Dr. Kathryn and Eden. I am forever grateful for the kindness you showed to my family today. We need more businesses like you. 10/10 would recommend as your go to dentist!

Negative experience: I do not recommend them at all. The fees they quote you as an estimate are so far off what they charge insurance. They have you sign an estimate, (keep it) and use that as reference. They claim it’s just an estimate. Ok, sure. However an office should know exactly what it’s going to charge for laughing gas, (as an example). My estimate didn’t include the office visit. That should be a clear fee. What my insurance was charged was ridiculous. I do not recommend them. If you do go keep all your paperwork and ask for concrete fees. The estimated “protection” feels like a scam. Edit-in response to your comment. I did call when I got the bill breakdown from my insurance. I was told it’s an estimate and the final bill to insurance was correct. That’s why it feels like a scam. The treatment plan we provide to parents outlines the specific treatments needed, but it does not include the exam and x-rays, which are discussed separately with you before the first/emergency/or routine appointments. These costs are not added to the treatment plan but are included in the final bill, which may have contributed to the discrepancy you mentioned. When we provide an estimate, it is based on the information we receive directly from the patients insurance company. However, the insurance company can have its own fee schedule, which may differ from our office’s "concrete" fees, meaning the insurance will only reimburse a percentage of their rates. As a result, the final billed amount may differ from the estimate provided, as it reflects what your insurance actually covers, not what we charge. We make every effort to be as transparent as possible and always strive to provide accurate estimates based on the details we have from the patients insurance company. However, we understand how this process can be frustrating, and we’re sorry if there was any misunderstanding. Fantastic experience: Today, we brought our newborn daughter in for a consultation regarding her lip and tongue tie. Dr. Davis was absolutely incredible—so informative and thorough in explaining how the procedure would go. I was initially a bit nervous, but Dr. Davis’s professionalism and care put me completely at ease. Negative experience: Very aggressive treatments, I was told my 6 year old daughter needed a filling for a cavity and I naively went forward with their recommendation. This filling has fallen out twice, the first time I took her back to Maggie Davis to replace the lost filling and it has now come out again. Our wonderful new dentist put in a temporary filling until she loses the tooth in the next year or so. I would never take my children back, this office caused my child multiple rounds of unnecessary suffering for a baby tooth. Beware..

Just as a reminder, baby molars typically don’t fall out until around age 12. Our doctors work to diagnose and create treatment plans that prioritize the best possible long term outcomes for each child, which often means saving teeth when possible. As mothers themselves, our doctors approach each treatment plan with the same care they would give their own children.
We understand that dental visits can sometimes be challenging, and we do our best work when children are comfortable and cooperative. If a child struggles to tolerate treatment, outcomes can vary based off of that alone. In most cases we would offer sedation as an alternative to ensure their comfort.

Fantastic experience: All the nurses and staff are so great and made my children feel so comfortable. My 3 boys go here. My little has had his top two teeth removed and my 7yr old just had two cavities taken care of. He came out smiling!!

Fantastic experience: Recently transferred over to this practice and had our first appointment yesterday. Everything from the office tour to every employee interaction, the dental cleaning and checkup to the billing process was perfection! Brittny kept my son at ease for his x-rays and cleaning and explained everything in clear detail to not only me but my son as well and Dr. Kate was able to answer questions and provide a thorough exam along with great recommendations to keep up the dental wins. Fantastic experience: The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. We had school canceled due to hurricane Milton and were able to get our 4.20 appt easily moved up to 1.30. Waited less that 5 minutes and our daughter went right in. A quick check out with a new appt set and we were on our way. The office is always that organized. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Consistently the best doctor experience we have with our daughter. She still doesn't "enjoy" it, but these people do everything they can to make it a positive and productive visit. Fantastic experience: We had our first appointment with our 9-month-old baby, and it was truly the best experience ever! From start to finish, the entire staff was professional, attentive, and incredibly caring. They made us feel at ease right away. Negative experience: Our son has been a pediatric patient with Dr. Maggie's practice for several years. While we have mostly had a positive experience, we just had a very negative one. We switched dental insurance providers this year and I called to let the office know. Though our new insurance is out of network with Dr. Maggie (which we knew from previous dental carriers also), the office staff never explained to us that with particular carrier we would have to pay up front and then get imbursed by the insurance company by check. So my husband just took our son for his 6 month preventative cleaning and paid almost $500 out of pocket. Half from the previous cleaning and half for the current. Though I will say the provider mailed us a check from the March cleaning I had no idea why. And not letting us know up front that the $ would have to be collected and the exact amount was unprofessional. I am not sure what they would have done if my husband didn't have an extra $500 available to pay. They should have let him know what the charges would be up front before providing services. They also should have explained how this new provider worked (by reimbursement for out of network services) once they were notified of the change. As a general FYI we now have Delta Dental of CA for those that may also.

Fantastic experience: We always have a great experience at this pediatric dentist office. As soon as you walk into the office you are greeted and tended to almost immediately. The dental assistants take time to explain exactly what they will be doing to your child and some how are able to convince them to cooperate nicely. They even had my daughter laughing during her X-rays and cleaning. Dr. Maggie is also amazing at what she does and is super sweet and encouraging to both kids and parents. Today we had Jennifer as the dental assistant and she was amazing!! Thanks again you guys are awesome at what you do. Update to today’s appointment. Ms. Brittany was absolutely amazing and gentle. She even gave my daughter a purple balloon for her upcoming birthday and made her day! Thank you!

Having lived in three different states and experienced three different dental practices throughout my child's life, none have come close to comparing. From the moment you step into their office, you feel a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone there takes their time, moving at a pace that's comfortable for your little one, using fun and child-friendly methods. As a parent, you receive a thorough tour and enjoy a seamless experience from the front desk to the treatment rooms. Even after we moved and were no longer current patients, Dr. Davis's dedication shone through. During a visit home to FL, my son had a dental emergency after hours. Dr. Davis promptly called me back at 10 p.m., easing my every worry and ensuring we were okay to wait until morning. Her team quickly fit us in the next day to make sure everything was alright. Fantastic experience: My boys had their first dental exam today & Drs. Maggie and Lorielle were AMAZING! While the boys passed with flying colors as far as oral health, they had some anxiety to say the least. At no point was I made to feel embarrassed or problematic, even during a busy morning in the office. As a single mom of young twins, appointments can be difficult and I really appreciate how thorough, knowledgeable, friendly and compassionate everyone was; the concierge/assistants even gave us a tour and introduced us to everyone as we came in. You can tell that they are passionate about what they do and it makes all the difference.

Negative experience: Dr Maggie is the WORST doctor I ever seen in my entire life! Doesn't even listen to you, just talks and talks over you. Her assistant had super long nails and reminded me Edward Scissorhands rather than a nurse. The front desk staff is simply rude, no "please" or "thank you", the waiting time was pretty long. If you need good dental services, go to Costa Rica instead.

Negative experience: on a routine teeth cleaning for my child. Before the appointment, I was assured multiple times that the office was in-network with my insurance provider. However, after a quick 20-minute cleaning, I was hit with a $150 charge because they claimed I was out-of-network. This was a complete shock, especially after rushing through over six pages of disclosures just to get seen. The staff’s reassurances were clearly misleading, and I feel deceived by their practices. I would not recommend this dental office to anyone looking for transparent and honest communication about costs and insurance coverage. Be wary of their promises and double-check everything beforehand. Managment was no help either .
Hi Fernanda, thank you for messaging us to let us know how you feel. We apologize if you misunderstood our insurance policies. We utilize online digital forms prior to all appointments so we are transparent on all of our policies. We regret you did not have time to complete them ahead of time as requested and as you mentioned above, rushed through the disclosures. We have policies on insurance in which you signed, stating we are considered an out of network provider as a pediatric specialist. But that does not mean insurance does not pay for some of the dental visit.
Additionally, your visit was 40 minutes for each child and included two children so that’s why you had two co-pays. $150 was not one child. I’m sorry the insurance lingo can be quite confusing. Please call our office manager directly next time if you have any questions. We are happy to help navigate your individual insurance for you.
Fantastic experience: Dr Maggie Davis and the entire staff is incredibly professional, kind, gentle, and very patient. My child is not very fond at all dental visits and they do everything to make him feel safe and comfortable.

Fantastic experience: We LOVE this office. My three year old has been coming here since he was one. He looks forward to the appointment and even remembered specific toys he wanted to play with in the toy area after his visit. They managed to clean his teeth, floss, take x-rays, apply varnish, and allow the doctor to check all of his teeth without a single tear. Fantastic experience: Dr. Maggie is amazing. My son just had his tongue tie revised at 3yrs old and she made me feel very secure and safe about the procedure. Fantastic experience: The friendly front desk staff was helpful as our two year old was a new patient. Equipment was nice and everything was clean. Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience. My 2 year old hates getting his teeth brushed. We needed one of tooth extracted quick. The dentist and staff made the tooth extraction so comfortable for my toddler. He did not fight whatsoever. And we did not have to put him to sleep for this simple extraction. (He had an incisor extracted)

Negative experience: Called this office after a minor concern from our family dentist. Immediate treatment was not required but we wanted to get a quote anyway. Was led to believe that they worked with our insurance and billing would be no problem. After a minor procedure, we get the final bills and the total is over $1,100 and our insurance covered $50 of it. after speaking with their office representative she reminded me that I needed to read the fine print and that in fact, they did take our insurance like she said. Lesson learned on our end for sure. Next time we have to stay with an in-network provider and double-check the "fine print" from the medical provider looking to make a dollar. Still have not received the final invoiced amount from this office. Double-check and make sure they are in your network and read the "fine print" with this office.
Thank you for your feedback, as we look closely at all comments. We reviewed your chart and noted your child was referred to our practice by the general dentist you originally saw first. They referred you to our office because they were not capable of getting the work completed and she required a pediatric specialist. After a thorough examination, it was noted that your child had two abscessed teeth and two permanent teeth with decay, in need of restorations. This would not be considered “minor” to a dental professional. Thankfully, our highly trained pediatric team had the advanced skills and training so that we could successfully treat your child and remove pain and infection. Additionally, your child was quite nervous and our office has the extra televisions, headphones, ipads, and pediatric trained assistants to cater to children who need a little extra time and resources. We are so glad that we were able to use these talents and successfully treat your child. Our top priorities are doing quality work in a comfortable setting, and we do not allow insurance to dictate the level of care that we provide. We are happy to extend our time and expense to file insurance claims on your behalf, so we can maximize your reimbursement. However, we chose to not be under contract with insurance companies that ask us to downgrade our level of care. We hope this explains our rationale and look forward to taking care of your family again should any needs arise.
