Starting with the front desk Betsy was super nice She gave me a Tumblr and super helpful and if you can’t read no problem they will take care of you every step of the way They took good care of me and starring in the back Dr thusu and kat and Madison Comfort and cared so much ask if I was a OK every step all the way they explained it detailed to The little details and after your appointment, everybody says goodbye and offers your cookies. The best service I’ve ever had in years. I was always afraid and scared they opened up my future to brighter smile and broke my fear you should give them a try you will love it

Fantastic experience: This place ROCKS! Been coming here for over 10 years and the new advances they have each time I visit are incredible! Broken crown replaced with a new permanent one in an hour??? AMAZING and painless! **UPDATE 7/1/2025 Went in for a HUGE remake of my smile…17 crowns. WOW AGAIN!!! Sedation dont remember a thing… I MUST SAY DR THOMAS IS A MAGICIAN❤️❤️ Dont walk, RUN to this dentist…And the result?? FLAWLESS i have only left a handful of reviews over 20 years. Fantastic experience: I had the most pleasant, life-changing experience at Advance Smile Care this year. My family has been using this practice for the last 10 years for basic dental care and maintenance. We are always greeted with Betsy’s smiling face and the smell of fresh cookies baking. However this year our dental needs expanded to include more major procedures and some cosmetic improvements. Beginning with Karla in the accounting department all the way to Dr Selsa Gonzales …the care we received was outstanding. It was amazing to feel like they were not finished with our treatment plans until we were completely satisfied. Kudos to Dr Thomas and this whole team at Advance Smile Care. Fantastic experience: My broken tooth was the same day evaluated and a temporary crown installed, painlessly. The subsequent permanent crown was a perfect match to the old unbroken tooth and works perfectly. The whole repair operation was a relatively enjoyable experience.

Fantastic experience: Advanced Smile Care was my late wife’s go to dental practice. I started going there approximately 2 years ago. Although they are out of network for my insurance, I believe they use best practices and I am very pleased with their service. They are just top notch in every way.

Fantastic experience: I have gone to Advanced Smile Care for several years now. The first time I walked in the door, I was welcomed so nicely, and I knew I was in the right place. I have never gone to a medical office, where every single employee was so friendly. The care I have received is exceptional. My husband is now going there, and he feels the same way I do. I highly recommend Advanced Smile Care to anyone who wants to receive the best care in a very friendly and caring atmosphere!!

Negative experience: I am deeply concerned with how this office handled my financial matters regarding my dental insurance. They didn’t tell me until after I went through all of the stressful experience I was wanting to avoid with x-rays and just sitting in a dental chair in general. Only to be told afterwards that my insurance was out of network and would only cover less than 10% of the entire treatment plan. I was feeling so excited and relieved to finally get helped in the way that I needed only to be let down at the very end and have to start all over again with another dental practice who I have to now trust and make double sure I am not mislead again. Please just double check with them and make sure that you’re in network because them telling you that they accept all PPO’s is obviously insufficient and disappointing. Maybe even misleading.

Fantastic experience: As a child, I experienced trauma when going to the dentist. Because of that childhood trauma, I have neglected to take proper care of my teeth & gums. My first experience with Advanced Smile Care was because of a cracked tooth. The entire staff made me feel so comfortable & confidant that I could successfully have my dental procedure done. They never judged me, nor did they scold me about my bad dental habits! Drs. Laura & Gary Benjamin showed such professionalism throughout the different procedures. I opted for the oral sedation dentistry because of my anxiety & I never felt any pain or discomfort. Their professionalism extends beyond the actual office visit because I received a call AFTER my dental procedure - I would call it a ‘comfort’ call to check on my well being after coming home. My sincerest thanks to EVERYONE at Advanced Smile Care - they make you feel special from the first time you enter their office. They are very professional & personable - they are my dental ‘family’ ! They take make you feel so comfortable and really work with the patients to work out the best way to finance your dental procedures. I would totally recommend them I go to the Lockhill-Selma location in San Antonio Texas and I'm very pleased.

From the moment I called to schedule my appointment, Betsy took the time to listen to my concerns and anxiety. When I arrived two days later, she was right there to greet me and made me feel so comfortable. Betsy is truly incredible at what she does! The entire team was so caring and patient with me. Fantastic experience: 2/25/2025 We just finished up a long process of getting dental implants. Everything was explained to me very well. The staff and doctors and dental assistants were so supportive and happy for me! It’s a very loving and professional environment. 3/29/19 I recommend Advanced Smile Care because they are very efficient, they do the best they can to get me in as soon as they can when I had a tooth issue . Everyone there knows their job well and they are always smiling and friendly . Advanced smile Care is very friendly the minute you walk in the door The office staff, dentist, and hygienist are very supportive and honest. 3/6/18 Just finished my treatment plan! The office staff are relaxed but professional. I never felt nervous about going in. I also got a little gift and of course my cookies 12/26/18 It was another good visit. My fear of going to the dentist is diminishing each time. I love that I get reminders by text, email and mail. When I get there someone always greets with a smile. Checking in is super easy. Plus they remember me! :) Best of all they are very prompt! 11/21/2024 I’ve been going to Advanced Smile Care since 2018 or 2017. The office is run so smoothly. My treatment plans are always explained. If something does not go as planned, Dr. Benjamin has another plan. She is very thorough and speaks to me so I can understand and not medical lingo. The dental assistants are prepared and know what they are doing. They all have such care and compassion. I really do recommend this dental group. Dr. Benjamin is my dentist, but I’ll share! Fantastic experience: As ha always been the case, the attention and care afforded the patient from the moment of entering the offices of Advanced Smile Care is outstanding. Betsey Seymour, the patient coordinator, extends a most warm welcome and then proceeds to assure that ones needs are met as quickly as possible. Within minutes of my arrival the doctor was available to see me and the entire procedure went quite smoothly and quickly. Dr. Crouch is a very fine and quite thoroughly educated doctor. His patient/doctor relationship is very caring and to the point. The front office is quite smoothly run also.

Fantastic experience: Love them. I have two toddlers who have to tag along with me everywhere and that’s such a stressful thing but they handled them with grace. They also offered me a cat scan on the spot when I mentioned some lymph node issues I’d been having rather than ignoring my concerns which is so rare. Everyone is always very friendly and I just adore them.

Negative experience: Absolutely no sense of urgency. They will constantly make you call back with a response that they have to check. Then if they agree to call you back they will not put it into their schedule in any meaningful way and unless you get angry at them they will continue to give you the run around.

Fantastic experience: Incredible team. The staff is warm and welcoming. Excellent communication between team members. Dr. Gonzalez is obviously at the top of her field. She took the time to ask about my goals, provide various options, and implement a treatment plan that fit my lifestyle. I can't say I'm looking forward to my next treatment, but I can say that it will be as calm and pain-free as a trip to the dentist could be.

Fantastic experience: Recently changed my dentist because he was retiring, and found good reviews about Advanced Smile. My wife & I had new appointments to have xrays, cleaning and exams, and both agree everyone from initial phone contact to gather information, to appt notifications, arrival, xrays, cleaning, doctor visit, plan followup and check out was fantastic. Great engagement and made efforts to explain process and next steps.. We had appts on separate days but experienced the same friendly, great, and professional approach. Everyone was friendly. Betsy was very helpful in presenting and engaging. Abby was very professional and informing. Excellent dental cleaning experience. Dr Thusu was also very helpful. professional and responded quickly to any questions or concerns. Fran was also very helpful and informative. Again everyone was very friendly, listened attentively, and very helpful. Highly recommend this team of professionals. Most of us don't enjoy a visit to the doctor, but when I need to go I'm confident in this group to make the experience as good as possible. I kind of look forward to my next visit. I dont think I've ever said that before.

Fantastic experience: I have been with Advanced Smile Care for several years now. They are clean, professional, informative, and super friendly. They give the highest quality care.

Negative experience: I asked for a referral here from someone I know. I was a patient for 3 years. I had a filling and a crown done here. I had to have both of them replaced in 3 years. That's not long. My biggest issue with this place it the following. My fiancé got a cancer diagnosis at 36 years old. They lived 13 months with it in remission. At age 37 it came back strong. I had to cancel a hygienist appointment on the same day because we had to call EMS since they stopped breathing well. He died that same week. I called Advanced Smile Care to explain. They said that the charge would remain because it was the second missed appointment in time there. Both had to do with a life or death emergency. And he did die. They showed no compassion for my situation. They sent a $75 missed appointment fee for collection. Bad work, and no compassion. He died. I have found a much better dentist whom I've very pleased with. They are more skilled as doctors to boot.

Negative experience: I have used their services 3 times and will not be returning. This past visit they tried to charge my husband over $200. We made it clear we just wanted the standard cleaning covered by insurance. My husband argued with receptionist. After our appointments were finished, they never offered to make another appointment 6 months from now so we just left. My first experience was very negative yet I continued because my husband was an existing client. After 9 years of never missing a dental appointment they told me I had 9 , “Active Cavities.” Also really pressured me for cosmetic procedures that are not covered by insurance. I was there 2.5 hours. My second visit 6 months later I made it clear I only wanted the standard cleaning and I was not going to pay anything out of pocket. They gave me fluoride and took X-rays and still mentioned that I had 9 cavities. I had to argue with the checkout lady that I was not going to pay for the extras my insurance would not cover. They seem to only be interested in making extra money off of unnecessary procedures. After paying for dental insurance that covers 2. Is it’s a year, I should not be charged or pressured for extras every time I go.

Fantastic experience: Best dental office in all of San Antonio. With severe dental anxiety I thought saving my teeth would never happen. I tried multiple offices that offered “sedation” but all would give me the run around. Advanced smile cares entire staff was so welcoming and willing to help me. They washed my fear and shame away and gave me a plan. It sounds silly but they told me they were proud of me for going in. It felt so safe, and it truly gave me the courage to get the work done. I was able to undergo dental work with sedation yesterday. Today I woke up today to clean teeth. I cried tears of joy. I’m on a path to recovery and I couldn’t have done it without their help. This is my forever dental office. I can’t wait to continue working with them on my healing journey and path to healthier mouth. If you are looking for an office to work with your dental anxiety, look no further.

If she’s not My dental hygienist I don’t know who would be this deserves a 100 star instead of five star review they all took care of me and don’t even get me started on how amazing Betsey was the front desk lady I’ll never forget her she told me to spell her name with an E in the middle of the S and Y. The entire team at Advanced Smile Care made me feel comfortable and never pressured. Fantastic experience: From the minute I walked in the door to the minute I walked out, it was an overall exceptional experience. Betsey is always so friendly and goes above and beyond. Yesterday was the first time Abbie worked on me and she was amazing. I knew she was practically pressure washing my mouth (LOL) but she was gentle and I was never uncomfortable or in any pain.

I used to stay away from the dentist because it was always so unpleasant, but my hygienist Joanna helped me get over my fear by making me feel comfortable and at ease. She is the best! Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic dental office! I am alway greeted with a warm smile, the wait is non-existent, the hygienists and dentists are all excellent! So glad I was referred to this practice!

Positive experience: Overall another great visit! Been coming here for years, Wendy is the best, and the level of professionalism and exceptional customer service is a rarity. Only thing I wish could be different is I wouldn’t have to remember to request/mention that I participate I the “whiting for life,” program. I usually forget to mention so I don’t receive it. Not sure why the onus is on the patient to remember to “ask” at the front desk. Seems like the front desk receptionist can check patients records while accepting payment, or ask the patient if they participate in the program. This would help the patient to remember to ask for it before departing.

Fantastic experience: Best practice I’ve ever been to. This was my first experience with the process of getting an implant. Dr Benjamin was so gentle and talked me through it. Dr Benjamin not only text me that day after the procedure but again over the weekend making sure I was taking the medication that was prescribed for best healing practices. I always love the staff they always look up and acknowledge you even if you are not directly working with them on your care. 10 stars and kudos to you all.

Fantastic experience: Update: Jan 18, 2024: I returned to ASC to have the dental issues that had been identified corrected… it was l-o-n-g visit (no fault of theirs, I needed quite a bit of work (3 procedures) and opted to get as much of it done as possible at that one appointment. Dr Gonzalez and Mandy (assistant) were unbelievably attentive! Offered Netflix with headphones to distract me from the work they did, checking on my comfort throughout the procedures. Upon completion of what needed to be done, clear directions for care were provided by Dr Gonzalez and Mandy. More importantly, since leaving the office, I’ve experienced virtually no pain… just amazing considering it was nearly 4 hrs worth of work! Dr Gonzalez herself, called the following day to see how I was feeling after my dental visit. I don’t believe I could have had a better experience anywhere else… Kudos to Dr Gonzalez and Mandy ~~~~*~~~~*~~~~ I had my new patient visit (Jan 4. 2024), WOW! Such an amazingly friendly, welcoming, and efficient staff. Very high tech, transparent, and clear communication! I met so many people on my first visit, everyone from Betsy (the very first person who greeted me) to Karla (the last person I met) was incredibly nice. The atmosphere was outstanding… neat, clean, open reception area. There’s a coffee, tea, and water station available, they offer blankets and neck rolls for your comfort, and even have warm cookies ready for you following your visit… Advanced Smile Care truly tries to put their patients at ease in every way possible… Thank you Dr. Gonzalez (and everyone else I met today) for taking such good care of my needs!

Fantastic experience: I have had a LOT of dental work through the years and advanced smile care ranks as one of the best experiences to date. The level of professionalism, care and skill set of the entire staff is highly commendable. From the moment you enter until you leave you are made to feel welcome and comfortable. I went in today as an emergency visit after one of my front teeth fractured at the gum line. After discussing my options Dr Thusu and I decided that we would try to repair the tooth with a dental post and buildup. He did such a great job, the tooth looks perfect and he made sure the fit was totally comfortable before I left his office. I don't give 5 stars to many Drs or businesses but I am happy to say they work hard to earn your trust every visit. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Shortly after my long time dentist retired, I found myself in need of urgent dental care. Advanced Smile Care was AMAZING! I found the efficiency, very cordial and accommodating staff, high tech facility and excellent skill level of Dr Gonzalez beyond impressive! Dr Gonzalez did a great job. Plus, I am SO grateful she went ‘the extra mile” in tracking down former treatment meds/doses. Fran and Betsey were so very hospitable. They made me feel comfortable with a new place right away! Arely was an outstanding assistant. She clearly knows her stuff!!!
