I’m 28 and I never really knew what they did in there besides a generic “teeth cleaning” so it was nice to learn what is actually being done and what I’m paying for. Positive experience: I was really impressed by the dentistry services that I received, but I’m not impressed by the woman at the front desk. The lady at the front desk that takes payments is incredibly rude to the extent that I am considering not returning to the practice. It’s unfortunate because the doctor and the dental assistants are all really incredible.

Truly amazing! I was sent to her from a well known hospital being treated for cancer and she took everything into consideration to give me quality care. I drive 1 hr , 15 min to see her. The whole office is a class act! Love them!

Negative experience: 1) I arrived after spending time filling out all your forms. I was told they did not "come over", which made me question the quality of your IT syatems. 2) i had to sign the forms on site. I was directed to a signature pad to sign. No screen to see what i was actually signing. One should never sign something without reading it/seeing it first. This is a first level security and safety issue, which made me question your processes and your commitment to security and safety of the patients. 3) nice lady turmed her screen around so i could see what i was signing This was good, but she had to be ever so careful becuase the video cable was lose. Makes me question your equipment. Easy fix, why wasnt it taken care of? Do you not fix other pieces of equipment? Maybe a drill? 4) i made my appointment with Dr. Lama. On Tues. On Wed, at the appointment, i was told i would be seeing Dr. McKinny. That made me question your basic administrative processes. Was not impressed by this visit.

Fantastic experience: Just left my 1st appointment and can say hands down from start to finish- a fantastic experience (not counting talking to the answering service…if you get them and feel frustrated…stick it out bc the office team is working on that and it is not indicative of the entire onsite team at all). The hygienist, Molly, was not only super personable…she took extreme care with me during the X-rays bc of some medical issues I am battling that impacts my mouth. The technology is advanced and surely helps and Dr. Lama is friendly, compassionate and conscientious but in a realistic way. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Visiting the Jacksonville area due to work on my lunch break, I had a dental emergency. I stopped by and was greeted by a very nice lady in the front. She was very helpful, kind, and patient. She was able to help me with my dental insurance, getting me checked in. It was a very smooth and easy process. We scheduled an appointment for later that afternoon. When I showed back up, I was checked in and had a very short time before the dental assistant pulled me to the back to take some x-rays and pictures for the doctor. Once the doctor showed up, we went over my treatment plan and the appropriate course of actions. The doctor was very knowledgeable and nice, just like everyone else in the office. I would highly recommend them to anyone who stays in the Jacksonville area. Thank you all for what you have done for me today.

Fantastic experience: The entire staff were warm, friendly and professional. Procedures were explained carefully and they were upfront about costs and insurance coverage. I did not feel pressured to have unnecessary treatment. It was the most thorough exam and X-rays that I have had in years. I feel very confident that they put patients needs first and that I will receive excellent care.

Negative experience: Do not go here with Medicare. Went for a chipped tooth and got a good service and they charged my plan about $340. They then offered me a cleaning and I returned. They charged my insurance about $1900. I have had cleanings done yearly, and I ( my insurance) has never been charged more than $400 for this.

Calming environment and they know what they are doing. Staff is amazing. First time here but feels like a dentist I will be coming to for the foreseeable future.

Fantastic experience: After being scared by dentist through my childhood and into young adulthood it had been about 7 years since I had been to the dentist. However I decided I needed to straighten and fix my teeth. Dr. Lama is the best at what she does. I had to have more extensive work done (obviously after 7 years of no treatment) due to moderate gum disease I think it was. But she took the best care of me. She gives it to you straight and doesn’t do halfass work. She takes pride in her work and I’m very thankful for how my teeth turned out from treatment to Invisalign. Thank you for making my smile the best it can be. Highly recommend won’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Bojaxhi saved my life. There's no one else you should want as your dentist. I have a lot of anxiety when I go to the dentist. I've lived with significant dental pain most of my life, have never had pink gums, and have had multiple crowns, root canals, and extractions. My dental situation was perpetuated by years of abuse, so it's directly linked to significant trauma, which only adds to the anxieties I felt when I went to the dentist. For the past forever, I could not chew well or safely eat hard, pointy things (like tortilla chips). I could not eat meat without experiencing pain. I could not chew on both sides of my mouth. When I first came to Dr. Bo, I was in tears. She was clear with me about what would happen without immediate treatment. Unlike other dentists, she broached topics like cancer and death from infections with tact and genuine concern. She didn't know me, but I could tell she sincerely cared and didn't want me to leave her office without a strategy for saving my life. I know, that sounds dramatic. But that's what was at stake. Her consultation led me to question a lot of things in my life; I knew I needed to make big changes. I sought a dentist. I found an ally. She truly cares and is dedicated to making sure her patients are not in pain or at risk of getting worse. During that first infection, she met up with me on Christmas Eve to prescribe me stronger pain medication until I could get surgery in a week. I remember she met me in the parking lot wearing her ugly Christmas Sweater because she left a party to take care of me. Since then, for the past nearly 12 years, she has given me comfort and support through multiple rounds of infections, four root canals, two extractions and, soon, multiple implants. While she's referred me to surgeons for specialized work, they all delivered on her commitment to excellence and standard of care. I trust her guidance. She always keeps me informed in a kind, nonjudgmental way. She takes the time to listen, absorb, and consider what I've said before she speaks or makes treatment plans. I have full confidence in her abilities and have felt better and have seen significant differences in my smile after each visit. She and her staff always help me feel included in my dental care decisions and plans. She's helped me take care of essential work within my budget and at my pace without increasing the risk of more infections or pain. She keeps me informed and allows me to weigh the options. But, in the end, I almost always end up taking her advice because she's never let me down. The only reason it's taken so long to remedy these issues is because of my unique situation. She and her staff have worked with me on financing and overcoming low credit hurdles. There are never any surprises with my bill. In fact, this summer, her staff went above and beyond to make sure Met Life was paying my full benefits when they weren't. They saved me thousands of dollars this year alone. After she referred me to a periodontist for surgery and implant consultation, I was able to start Invisalign this week to fix my bite and make room for the implants. As of today, I have no infections, no cavities, and no tooth/gum/root pain. I am current with my cleanings. My gums are pink! My teeth no longer bleed when I brush. I can use floss brushes and waterpiks without pain too. I can bite and chew without wanting to cry. I can chew on both sides of my mouth! Soon, I'll be able to confidently eat pulled pork and tortilla chips again. Soon, I'll be smiling with confidence again. I genuinely look forward to going to the dentist now. What used to be a belittling, scary, and painful experience that prolonged abuse, is now a chance to see dear friends and allies in my journey to reclaiming my life and my dental health. Thank you for helping me repair my life and my smile. Thank you for being my ally. Thank you for saving my life.

Fantastic experience: They are great in everything and doctor McKinney I don't know what to say about him I appreciate everything he did for me he’s professional, kind and respectful. He gave me a discount and helped me with the required amount. He also helped me with the time as he stayed after his official working hours to complete my dental work he’s Tired but smiling all the time and taking care of me all the time and asking me if I need anything a water his assistant saw me was tired from work she’s measured my blood pressure and brought blanket for me asked me if I want water or snacks when the doctor does my teeth every minute he asks me if I'm okay they are perfect also with his assistant she is very good, kind and helpful. Fantastic experience: I made an appointment to get a second opinion on a treatment plan that I received from a different dentist that I felt a bit drastic and unnecessary. Sandalwood Dental staff was super nice and helpful from the very first phone call. When I showed up they greeted me with smiles and explained the documents due at check in. A very short wait and I was in the chair getting xrays and talking with the dentist. The dentist explained the situation and what she believed was a proper treatment plan. She listened to my questions and concerns and explained why she felt the treatment didn't require as drastic of measures as the previous dentist proposed. There was no pushing or pressure just information for me to make an informed decision. (I know from a previous dentist visit elsewhere what they could've pushed to make more money ). This gave me confidence they were recommending the proper treatment for me. Definitely recommend Sandalwood Dental.

Negative experience: Schedule a dental appointment for my husband and made sure I asked if they accept our insurance ,was told yes. Appointment came and they cancel it because they take took my husband incorrect phone number. Reschedule while at doctor office and show proofed of insurance just for the appointment to come a month later and get a text saying they don’t accept it. What a waste of time when they made us go through all of that even fill out forms. Just to be told on the day of your appointment. Company either has an issue with communication or per there text they just trying to sell us they new first customer rate offer. 2 month wasted of time when my husband could have been at a dentist appointment. Horrible

Fantastic experience: after spending 30 years with my previous dentist, we moved to Florida and had to start over with a new dental practice. so i procrastinated for 9 months, having serious reservations. they were short lived. everyone here is courteous and competent; that i would expect. but when they are obviously happy being here, it's a good bet you're gonna leave happy too. these guys work as a team whose goal is taking care of you in the best possible way.
