I wasn’t planning on having a visit but my partner had made an appointment but they didn’t take his insurance and asked if I wanted his appointment. I took it as a sign. I am thrilled I did!! It’s a beautiful office filled with beautiful people. The hygienist did a complete job. Awesome. Then the dentist came in she was excellent. And she gave me choices of procedures. Then Dana the insurance lady came in and she was amazing also. Everyone there is very low key and detail oriented. I love it I am blessed to have found this office and you will be too

Fantastic experience: I brought my 6-day-old in for an evaluation with Emily (SLP) and Dr. Lacey (DDS & Certified Lactation Consultant), and I could not be more impressed with the care we received. From the moment we walked in, I felt welcomed, supported, and truly listened to. Both Emily and Dr. Lacey were incredibly thorough—explaining everything in a way that was clear, reassuring, and empowering. They took their time with us, answered every question, and made sure I fully understood what was going on with my baby’s feeding challenges. I left feeling completely informed and confident, with a clear plan of action and renewed hope. The level of compassion, expertise, and teamwork between them was exceptional. It’s rare to find providers who not only have such strong clinical skills, but also create an environment where you feel genuinely cared for. I’m so grateful for this experience and want other parents to know they are in the best possible hands here. Truly an incredible, reassuring, and transformative visit. Highly recommend!

From the receptionist, hygienist, and dentist there are so caring and supportive, willing to answer all our questions and share their knowledge., never in a rush. The best we have found!

Fantastic experience: So friendly and their work speaks for itself. If you’re nervous to go to the dentist this is the place for you. I’m so thankful to find a dentist like her. They even give you a tour of the office while going to your room. Fun fact: Limit your intake for processed carbohydrates it’s like food for your cavities.

Negative experience: Unprofessional dentist. Questioned why I didn’t join my dad in the treatment room because she would join her dad for his. So rude and antagonistic! Don’t talk about your dad during my father’s appointment. The top plate made was too small because they measured incorrectly and when they shoved it into my dad’s mouth they broke jaw bone that had to be fixed by an oral surgeon. The oral surgeon did not agree with the dentist’s treatment plan for the top plate which confirmed our opinion. He said it was overly aggressive and on top of that, the plan was ridiculously expensive for a 90 yr old. We will never take my dad there again and if your insurance allows you to go elsewhere that would be my recommendation.

Positive experience: I felt uneasy about even setting the appointment at Southern Dental Care. I didn't know anyone who works there. I feel embarrassed about how much dental work I need done and I worried about being able to trust the ability of the staff who would do the work. Also, I was concerned about what the cost would be. I decided to set the appointment and go through the process. The office setting is clean, bright, attractive and professional looking. I was given a little tour of the facility (a nice touch) by the friendly hygienist who eventually took my x-rays, cleaned my teeth and set up the details in my digital file. The dentist, Dr. Lacey, came in to discuss the issues with my teeth and formulate a treatment plan based on what I needed and wanted to have done. She was friendly and generous with her explanations and desire to address any questions or concerns I had. Finally, a lady came in to show me a printout of my treatment plan, and to discuss the costs involved and a breakdown of my insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expenses. Each person I encountered was very professional, friendly and courteous. All of my initial concerns were relieved with the attention I received. I was tentative before going to Southern Dental Care... and wound up really pleased with the experience I had there. Now, instead of avoiding and delaying the dental work I need, I'm looking forward to getting it done. I'm still just scratching the surface of this process, but I'm now happy that I got started. ●●●●●● This is an update... 11/04/2025 I've been back to Southern Dental Care for lots of work. I always thought I wouldn't be able complete these things. So, it's a pleasant surprise for me. I went today for a cleaning. As always, the staff was friendly and efficient. I commented to the dentist that I 'follow' Southern Dental Care on Facebook. I get to see the happy staff members celebrating their birthdays and even groups of them on vacation. It's great to see people who seem to be happy in their jobs and happy with their coworkers. I'm happy to recommend Southern Dental Care to people I know.

I was deeply impressed by their compassion and professionalism. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel comfortable and truly listened to my concerns. They took the time to explain everything clearly and answered all of my questions in detail. What stood out most was how caring and patient Dr. Lacey and Emily were throughout the appointment. It’s rare to find a doctor and staff who combine such genuine empathy with such thorough medical knowledge. I left the consultation feeling informed, reassured, and confident in the care I received. I highly recommend Dr. Lacey and her staff to anyone looking for a dentist who truly cares about their patients and takes the time to provide thoughtful, personalized care.

Negative experience: I am writing this review sharing my recent experience at Southern Dental Care in Marrero, as it’s important to me that my feedback reaches those who can effect positive change. About three weeks ago, I scheduled appointments for my son and myself, eager to ensure we received the dental care we needed. We arrived promptly at 1:30 PM for our 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM appointments, considering the journey from Ponchatoula. After checking in, Janelle approached me regarding my recent X-rays, which I understood were necessary to avoid potential out-of-pocket expenses. Despite promptly emailing the required X-rays, I was disheartened to learn that there were continual challenges in retrieving them, causing a significant delay. Unfortunately, this situation resulted in my appointment being rescheduled, which left me feeling frustrated after the considerable effort I made to get there.In seeking a resolution by speaking with Devin Perrin, I left the interaction feeling disregarded and dissatisfied with the lack of support I received regarding both my X-rays and the overall treatment. As a long-time patient of Southern Dental Care, I have come to expect a certain level of care and attention, and I was dismayed to find that my experience fell short of these expectations. I fondly remember the exceptional service from hygienist Ms. Heidi Robeaux, whose kindness and professionalism stood out during my visits. However, my recent experience has prompted me to reconsider my future dental care options. I believe there is a significant opportunity for Southern Dental Care to enhance communication and the overall patient experience, ensuring every individual feels valued and respected.

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience for my twins’ lip and tongue tie procedures. They were wonderful with my babies and the procedure was very quick.

Negative experience: My husband has been a patient there for several years now along with his twin and other friends and family that he referred. After his first horrible experience that was communicated to Dr. Vu, we have not received any form of communication and was possibly going to reconsider returning. Unfortunately, since it is apparent that as a patient it does not matter how patients are treated during their cleaning we will not be returning. We are extremely sad that nobody took the time to review or follow up. Great experience with Dr. Lacey and Dr. Vu, horrible experience with the person that cleaned his uppers. Now we have to find another doctor to finish the cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I was very impressed with everyone there! I learned a lot of information about tongue ties and all kinds of different things it can affect if left untreated. We went through a thorough plan for my daughter that I feel comfortable with. The SLP and dentist were both great with her.

From the moment of walking in the door, I’m greeted with kindness and smiles from each and every employee. Never a long wait for any procedure due to the management always keeping a step ahead to ensure you get the correct care and it’s expedited timely; they understand that your time is important too! We have 4-generations that Dr Lacy and her Team see on a regular basis. Plus, numerous other family members and friends that enjoy her services.

Negative experience: Hi my name is Robert Gibson. In early May I started my process by coming into your dental office to have extractions done. At a later date I returned to Southern Dental to get measured for the partial plate and thinking I would walk out of the dental office with a replacement partial plate until my partial come in. Now it’s midway in July I come back to your dental office on July 17th expecting to have the partial put in place and left there disappointed again. Today is July 17, 2025 I was told I have to wait another three weeks before I come back in to finalize my dental service. So at this point I don’t know what to expect and I’m a very unhappy customer. My teeth’s have shifted and by the time I come back the partial might not fit in place. I’m a unhappy person at this point

Fantastic experience: Dr. Andreotta has been my dentist since 2017 and my oldest daughter’s since 2018 as well. We just brought my babygirl who is 3 and starting PreK in the fall, into the Southern Dental Family. They were excellent with her! She didn’t even cry!
