Fantastic experience: Really great place. The dentist was very knowledgeable and made the visit enjoyable with occasional humor every once in a while. Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: I took my 83 year old mom who has alzhimers here because she urgently needed to be seen for a bad tooth ache and I was able to get an appointment right away . This is the first time we were seen at our appointment time ( we got there early and was sighned in right away) and didnt have to wait a super long time like in other places her appointment was at 11am and by 11:15 they had completed her xrays and was being examined by the Dr. The hygenist was super sweet and so patient with my mom who has a big fear of dentist, she calmed her fears. The Dr was so gentile and patient with my mom she kept her distracted with kind words and encouragement. The prosses was quick but not rushed, Im going recommend this dental office to my friends and family oh and it was very affordable had a great experience!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Helena Wu is amazing! She has great bedside manner and addresses any concerns you may have before your procedure. She is very patient and put any dental anxiety I had at ease. Dr. Wu is also very gentle and thorough in her work, and has even saved some of my teeth with more severe cavities from needing root canals. I credit her immensely for helping me overcome my fear of dentists and getting my oral health in check.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Ozzie Rodas and Dr. Helena Wu are the dentists at High Desert. I've only seen Dr. Rodas because of a referral from a friend. I'm impressed with the practice because they use the most modern dental technology and services. They make the services as comfortable as possible with the best applications and they educate you through the process. Coordination with the dentistry staff and on-site billing services is amazing and they take great care of you to make your visits the most affordable. One last thing I want to mention is that the environment is a very positive one. The dentist and staff genuinely like and work well with each other and they treat their patients with ultimate respect. They take time to make you feel comfortable and informed. This is easily the best dental practice I've ever been to.

Fantastic experience: This place is great. The receptionists were incredibly helpful in getting me check in and checked out and finding an appointment when all my needs were going to be met. Dr. Wu made me feel comfortable and was so professional in assessing and proceeding to put together a plan on how to get me back on track, the dental assistants which I don’t remember their names I’m sorry, were very nice and patient in getting me x-rayed. Point is my experience was phenomenal.

What he recommended and then with my impute came up with a plan of care. I had several extractions done as well as fillings. We finished up plan today. Fantastic experience: Today I had a 2nd molar removed from my right lower jaw by Dr. Helena Wu DDS. I was apprehensive about having a female dentist pull my tooth. Eight years ago, I had a 1rst molar pulled by a male oral surgeon, who seemed to struggle getting it out. It was a rough experience. So I arrived at High Desert Dental, expecting a similar ordeal. Well, Dr. Wu slid that tooth out today, like she was plucking a daisy. (And it was not loose at all.) I will never fear using a female dentist again. Dr. Wu is a tall, strong, fit & sturdy looking gal in her prime. My tooth wasn't even a challenge for her. She concluded the extraction before I even knew she had loosened it. In preparation, I barely felt the topical numbing agent being injected into the area. Dr. Wu even has a special technique for that. Dr. Wu is smart, confident and very understanding of dental anxiety. She explained everything beautifully. She prescribed adequate pain killers, so I left without fear of suffering at home. I was assured of a response after hours, if something went wrong at home. To walk into something I was dreading, and have it go so smooth and easy, meant the world to me today. I feel like my soul got healed a bit today, along with the removal of a tooth gone bad. I am a retired nurse and hold other healthcare professionals to high standards, as I've always aspired to in my own practice. Dr. Wu sure won my trust today. It was a privilege, today, to get dental care from a dentist of her calibre. Finally, the price was fair and reasonable. That meant a lot because I self-pay.

Fantastic experience: On my first appointment, from the moment I walked in to high desert dentistry I was greeted with smiling faces I immediately felt welcomed and thought to myself “this might just be a good experience” (as most of us are not usually happy and excited to get dental work done) I like the waiting and the other patients waiting all had great things to say about high desert and these people were two men who had full implants and raved about Dr.”OZ” and then there was a woman who was “just in for a cleaning” in no time my name was called “Valentin” she said, my name is Sam come on back she kindly asks me to sit down and introduces me to Candace who was absolutely fantastic ! And basically held my hand through the whole process. Explaining what, how, when and why. Consult x-rays and a plan to help me get through this process. Next the Doctor. “this is Dr. Woo.” What a totally sweet, knowledgeable, confident and considerate professional. All I can say is that the procedure from start to finish was amazing. The staff (oh I forgot the gentleman hygienist) he to was awesome! All and all I was actually blown away and I’m actually looking forward to my next appointment. Negative experience: I came to this office hoping to find personalized care for a very tricky chronic pain condition. The front desk was unhelpful, the dental hygienist wasn't communicative even after I explained my needs, and the dentist didn't understand why I was having such difficulties in maintaining dental care. It hurts to touch the outside of my face. I told everyone this. Everyone touched my face. The front desk supposedly took our insurance but required us to pay in advance. I pay for myinsurance, I would like to use it. If the office is having issues with an insurance, that is not my problem. The office should be paying the office staff to handle insurance companies, not requiring me to pay up front. Perhaps the excellent furniture and lighting will delight you and in that case, this is the office for you. If you have a chronic issue, you're better off waiting the 8 months it takes to get into UNM dental.
