Negative experience: After 31 years I am finally leaving my Dentist Mark Gray now owned by Stonecreek Dental. I showed up to have my 6 month cleaning checkup and since I did not have the time to do a deep cleaning the past 6 months at another dental place with traveling for work and just no time. Stonecreek Dental (New Owners & staff) denied my regular 6 month cleaning as I have always had done every 6 months all of my life. Me and my family will be leaving Stonecreek Dental after 31 years. Looking for a new dentist in the Clay/Trussville area. Very upsetting to say the least. Would not recommend Stonecreek Dental.

Negative experience: Dr. Mark Gray and his staff were amazing, but since he’s gone and most of his staff are no longer there, this place just isn’t the same. I miss the days of Ms. Kathy calling to remind me of my appointment and being warmly welcomed by her when I entered the door. I miss having the same person cleaning my teeth every time I go. I miss hearing about Dr. Gray’s dogs. It’s lost all of its warm touches. Additionally, it seems as though the prices have changed, so make sure you ask about that BEFORE your service. In January, I paid $40 for the gas. I was charged $80 this week for the gas after my cleaning and wasn’t notified of the significant price increase. It felt a little like getting my oil changed- there were so many additional add on things (mouth cancer screening $15, optional fluoride treatment $$) and it was hard to know what is actually needed. The only positive from my most recent visit was the actual dentist was kind and personable.

Fantastic experience: Another great visit today with Stone Creek dental and the great team there. They are so good, I look forward to visits with them. Oral health care is very important to a person’s overall total health, and especially with the heart. If you want to help improve your overall health, give Stone Creek team a call and they will help improve, or maintain your overall health by providing a superb oral health treatment beginning. They have patient treatment plans to fit all oral hygiene conditions. Give them a call. They are very conveniently located less than a mile off Interstate 59 on Chalkville Mountain Road in Trussville, AL. You will not regret having them as your private dental and oral hygiene service.

Positive experience: New dentist seems to be good. I'm still getting used to the difference in staff since Dr. Gray retired. Will give them a shot though. Would like to see a permanent staff instead of temps they have been using for cleanings though. Kind of hard when you have a different person each visit.

Negative experience: Came in for a cleaning they took several x rays an charged my insurance 5x time for there mistake on not getting it right the first few times. Mind you i had just got a root canal from another location GREAT JOB by the way. I asked Stone creek to crown it because they did a crown on me last year. They told me I would need my xray from previous dentist who did my root canal. But you all just charged my insurance 5x for xray. What will your 5 say different from there's. I will not be going back. Previous staff was better

Negative experience: Disappointed in the service that I paid for. In regards to it not been completed. Two months with out it been completed. With a date to try and complete it. I lost time and money. Need a refund for the crown. I still have a temporary crown on.

Fantastic experience: As always greeted with a smile. All the staff is friendly. Didn't wait more than 5 minutes. Facility is clean and organized. I was just introduced to a new doctor who was polite and answered my questions. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed.

Negative experience: You need to take Dr. Mark Gray's name off because he retired. Also, every since Stoney Creek bought them out the service has suffered. Every time I go, new hygienist and dentist. Before the staff was so happy and welcoming and has everything has deteriorated the last 2-3 years. I will be moving my business promptly. Also, they continually try to "upsell", kind of like Express Oil Change.

Fantastic experience: I was impressed with the staff at Dr. Mark Gray's Family Dentistry. This was my first visit, and I received a very thorough exam and cleaning from Jay and Dr. Gray, and I appreciated the friendliness and professionalism of all. I would recommend them to anyone.

Negative experience: My hygienist was amazing! No cavities or anything else. Sadly, Dr. Gray retired and the new doctor came in and immediately started trying to up sale me services that I didn't need. So I will be seeking a new dentist for my future services.

Negative experience: Not happy at all. When you ask for a certain procedure but they are more interested in saving natural teeth only to have to do procedure I requested 1 year prior. Frustrating and costly!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Gray and his staff are always friendly, personable and professional. I have been going here for over 15 years. They take great care of me and offer professional advice for keeping my teeth healthy.

Negative experience: Recently found out that Dr. GRAY is no longer the owner of this establishment even though the worker continue tobsaybhe is just on Medical leave. I made an appointment a couple weeks ago to repair a tooth that the filling came out. When I showed up to my appointment and sat in the chair I was asked if if had any issues or concerns. I explained to them that I was there for the tooth repair. I was then informed that they did not have a Dr. On site and would only be doing a cleaning. Needless to say I left after explaining to the office personnel that they wasted my time and gas.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. I have used Dr. Gray for about 20 years. No complaints. I hate Beverly retired and that Dee will be retiring. I hope you hire as wonderful people as those two.

Negative experience: Since Dr Gray has retired from his practice the experience at the office now is ridiculous. The front staff is rude unfriendly and I have complained to the Office Manager but nothing seems to change. So my family is leaving this practice for good!!

Negative experience: staff was very rude. would not take insurance i understand that because i had something they were not able to take but they were very rude about it. as soon as i walked in all had no smiles on their face and seemed just irritated to talk to me. will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: Another day at the dentist, well I wasn't excited about this trip because I'm getting a post installed. I get to the dentist and find out I'll be seen by the new female dentist (OH NO) well to my surprise she was great, I had no pain what so ever, Dr. Ospina was great and she sings good to under her mask. This is the best dentist office I've ever used.

Positive experience: On my visit yesterday, I was totally caught off guard by the brand new staff, and even though they were okay. I missed the connection with the former team, and was unaware that Dr. Gray was out and that too disappointed me! We travel all the from Hoover because of the special bond and relationship with him and the staff and yesterday my family and I didn’t feel that connection. It’s no fault of the new team, but it just the way we feel.

Fantastic experience: Lindsey Stripling is always very helpful and friendly. She calms my nerves and explains everything.

Positive experience: My only suggestion is there should be a counseling area for taking tompatietabout treatment plans instead of doing it while standing Outside at the front counter with all other patients waiting to get checked in. There is very little HIPAA protection.

Negative experience: I called and told them I would be 20 min late due to getting off work and traffic. They told me I had to reschedule my appointment because they couldn’t see me. I asked what is the next earliest appointment and she said it’s three months out and that would be March. Very disappointing. I realize service has changed at my dentist. They are trying to max out on getting new patients and lack tacking care of existing patients needs.

They always make sure clients are comfortable. I live all the way on the other side of town in Crestwood. I would not be making that trip unless it was something special. Indeed it is. Fantastic experience: Ducky is an amazing hygienist. She’s very gentle, patient and kind. Did a thorough job. Making an appointment, paperwork, the whole process was organized and simple. Love them! Will definitely recommend.

Negative experience: I believe there needs to be a collaboration with physicians and dentists that will treat the patient better. The Dentist needs to take a better medical history, and the medical physician needs to take a better history of dental problems the patient might having, and they need to share that data. I have an irrational fear of getting a needle into my facial nerve to numb up the tooth to proceed with the dental procedure. The only alternative was to do the procedure without the injection in my mind, but the Dentist would not go along with that. He could not provide me with another alternative. I must find a new dentist to help me. The reason being that I have developed facial nerve pain, and I will not go along with anymore root canals, any suggestion of implants, or any procedures that will affect the facial nerve that will cause facial pain to return. I had multiple neurosurgery procedures in the past to eliminate facial nerve pain and it is only temporary. This problem needs to be addressed in medical school and dental school. There needs to be a sub-specialty in dentistry that can address this problem and treat the patient better.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Gray diagnosed the problem with my tooth. After he corrected part of the problem he referred me to another dentist to have the roots extracted and also got my appointment . Fantastic experience: I did not like my experience with this last appointment I I don’t get it that you charge people for not anything could come up I was stuck at work. The person did not show up to relieve me. I could not walk off my job to make the appointment and I was told that I would be charged. that’s just something that’s not fair I mean, I’m being charged $25 for counseling appointment. I’ve never understood that both times that I tried to make a dentist appointment. My tooth is hurting. My tooth is still hurting right now but I can’t walk off my job until my relief shows up. it’s either walk off the job and lose a job that I’ve had for seven years or pay y’all $25 for counseling the appointment No I don’t. I don’t appreciate it.

Fantastic experience: This was my best experience with a dentist ever, straight from the get-go. Lisa was so nice and exceptionally helpful. I told her I wanted to come in for a cleaning and a check up, and the day after I called was the best day for me. She told me that they were unfortunately fully booked and the next opening was at the end of the month, so we went ahead and scheduled it. She then asked if I’d like to be put on a waiting list, and of course my answer was yes, and i gave her times and weekdays that would work the best for me. She then wished me a good rest of the afternoon and I did the same. To my surprise, she called me close to their closing time to let me know they had an opening the next day! I was so elated and thanked her for calling me back. The next day, the day of the appointment, I walked in and was greeted with smiles. I filled out the paperwork and was promptly called to the back. The technician (if that’s the right title) was super kind and gave me a lot of warnings of discomfort when she was taking my x-rays. I wish I got her name because she deserves the praise. She cleaned my teeth painlessly, and we had small bits of conversation when my mouth wasn’t being invaded by dental instruments. After she finished her job, THE Dr. Gray himself came in to make sure I could keeps saying “I’ve never had a cavity,” and he was even cooler than the tech! (no offense ma’am” We all joked and had a good laugh before it came time for business and then he was able to deliver the good news. This was my first visit to any dentist in 6 years and even if I lose my insurance, I will continue going here. The staff is absolutely amazing!

They did the full work up, we're very accomodating and kind, and absolutely zero judgement or questioning of how long I've gone without dental care. As someone who is neurodivergent, that is very reassuring. I didn't even tell them that I am ND, they were just like that. I look forward to returning for my next cleaning.

Fantastic experience: Dr Gray is a pretty swell guy and im pretty sure ive had all the assistants clean my teeth by now and i have no complaints everybody is friendly and easy to talk to, and miss Bethany is a trip. (Fun person)

Fantastic experience: I'm not a big fan of dentist office, but Dr.Gray and his staff made me feel like family. He talk me through my whole procedure and even told a couple jokes I'm glad I found his practice I'm definitely a patient here to stay.
