Fantastic experience: Dentistry of Old Rown Scottsdale is a great place. The staff are very friendly. Ariel was amazing. She is the hygienist who did a deep cleaning on my teeth. She was gentle and took her time explaining the work I was needing. I get nervous when it comes to any dental procedure but Ariel was fantastic and made my visit absolutely pleasant. I highly recommend this Dentist place.

Fantastic experience: I went to my first appointment today and felt very well taken care of! Dr. Paul gave me multiple options for the things I needed, and was very personable and understanding. My hygienist, Silvia, was kind, thorough and genuine. I’ll definitely be sticking around!

Fantastic experience: I had a dental emergency and was able to be seen by Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale within 24 hours. They identified the problem, fixed the issue, and I was out of the office within 2 hours of my arrival, fantastic! As for the staff, everyone I interacted with was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and made my visit an excellent one. This was the best experience I have ever had with a dentist and I highly recommend their services.

Fantastic experience: First I must say going to the dentist is never something you look forward to doing. That said the staff is awesome at what they do and very friendly. Dr. Britton gave me a shot and I was like where's the numbing stuff...didn't need it he is amazing. I had a deep cavity..no problem. Great dentist. I highly recommend thier office.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale for over 18 years. I have had cleanings, deep cleanings, Invisalign braces, and restorations as required. I had need of an emergency root canal once and they got me in same day. That is rhe kind of office and patient care they have - and that is part of why they've been my dental office for almost two decades. I've had other dentists before and have had varied experiences (to put it mildly). Something notable about DOOTS is that the office staff works very well together and is altogether pleasant. This is not chance. I know they are careful who they hire and how they are treated. Today, I was seen (on a day's notice) for a chipped front tooth that had potential for splitting. I emailed the office a close up photo of rhe tooth the night before last. I got an email from Dallas (who's been there as long as I've been going, it seems) proposing three different times today that I could come in. I was booked without even a phone call. The appointment lasted less than an hour and I have my full smile back, in a relaxed amd pleasant process (as pleasant as emergency dental care cam be). I clearly think very highly of these folks and recommend them without hesitation.

Negative experience: I went in for a cleaning and during the process they broke my bottom permanent retainer. They tried to play it off like they weren't responsible and couldn't properly fix it. Now my teeth feel uncomfortable and I have to get more dental work done elsewhere. They are severely lacking in skill and professionalism here. Do not come!!! I'd give this place zero stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been searching for 5 years to find a local dentist while traveling to Chicago area to keep our previous one. We’ve found many that didn’t meet our expectations but it all changed today. Their entire team was amazing.

Negative experience: I'm very confused about all of these glowing reviews. I have been twice and BOTH times have been incorrectly charged. The first time they quoted me $145 and I opted to pay in full. They later sent me a second bill for $28 and when I asked what it was for they hung up on me and would only respond to texts then deleted the invoice. The most recent visit 12/1/25 they had me pay over 50% out of pocket when I got home and checked my dental insurance it stated that my cleanings were 100% covered. I messaged the office and the assistant stated that they saw it was 80% covered. So I had to then ask why I was charged over 50% if they knew 80% was covered and I did not receive any add ons. Please make sure to always get your receipts printed!

Fantastic experience: I had the wonderful experience from the moment I scheduled my “first time” appointment online. After arriving a bit early, I was greeted by reception to fill out the usual paperwork. Soon, I was called back by Sylvia, the dental tech. Dr. Paul came in and got to work. Thought I had a couple of cavities, but needed a root canal along with crowns. Both Sylvia and Dr. Paul were very kind and efficient. I couldn’t have asked for better care!

I was referred by my sister and she has had many different procedures done in the office. I had an implant procedure done, and had absolutely no pain, and look forward to my next appointment. There is a very large office staff and they were handling many patients efficiently. I would highly recommend Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale for your dental needs.

Today was my fourth or fifth visit to DOOTS. They were recommended by a friend, and I haven’t been disappointed. Everybody is pleasant, knowledgable, and professional. I inherited a rare birth defect that results in poor and insufficient collagen, leaving me prone to cavities — I have known many dentist in my 60+ years. Dr. Paul knew about this condition, which was comforting. He is curious and knowledgeable. My Smart and good humoreddental hygienist, Sage, was top-notch as well!!

Fantastic experience: I flew in from California for an implant procedure and when I arrived, the office staff treated me incredible and were very professional and I only waited 1 minute before being called in, way better than my dentist in California ever did. Dr. Paul was incredible and very professional and explained everything as he was performing the extraction, which I loved. He spent time with me before and after the procedure and made me feel like a family member and genuinely cared about my experience and my anxiety of going to a dentist. I. would definitely recommend the office and especially Dr. Paul if you can ask for him you will have an incredible experience. Fantastic experience: I had an emergency because my retainer fell off and the metal wire was painfully poking my tongue. As a teacher with Curriculum Night on the same day, I needed to get it fixed quickly so I could speak properly to parents. I called many dentists, but this was the only office that accepted a same-day appointment. I rushed in, and Marissa did an amazing job fixing my retainer. She was so sweet, understanding, and didn’t even charge me. I’m so grateful for her kindness—thank you so much for saving me! I truly appreciate it.❤️

Fantastic experience: Great office, busy place but they get you in and out. Dr. Brittain is a great dentist-nice and not pushy.

Positive experience: First few times were fine although I don't particularly like that the rooms are set up so that your back is towards the door so you can't see who's coming in and out. I do appreciate they offer sunglasses as I'm photosensitive. Last time I went the hygienist and dentist were looking at my X-ray behind me and talking about it without acknowledging me or telling me what was going on. They never showed me the X-ray and didn't tell me why they were prescribing me a toothpaste until the dentist left and hygienist filled me in. Big red flag when any medical provider treats you as just another job and doesn't acknowledge you as a human receiving care.

From scheduling , to meeting the patients needs to billing and pricing upfront in relation to the business aspects of it...Now talk about the patient experience..... Greeted as soon as you walk into check in with a smile from the front desk puts any anxiety away you may about your appointment. The Dentist's are all amazing,, personal able and professional with amazing dental skills to fix any problem you may have. Which are only second to their support staff. The dental assistant's, hygienists front desk and everyone else working there make this the best office I have ever been to. Yes, Marisa is an amazing hygienist with great "bedside" manner and just a quality woman with professional skilled techniques when caring for you . Negative experience: Today was the first day I had a negative experience in 3 years. It was my first time meeting Dr. Britain though. Routine cleaning, no other issues but spoke very sarcastically and down to me about a sensitive issue that I did not want to address at that moment. Very disappointed. I work in healthcare and couldn’t imagine speaking to a patient that way. I understand what he was saying but the delivering and tone / dismissiveness was uncalled for.

Fantastic experience: My current dentist couldn't get me in for a cleaning for 3 weeks so decided to switch dentists. Did great job cleaning my teeth. Dentist spent plenty of time addressing if there was anything else going on with my teeth. Upon checking out they provided me with a welcome gift for being a new patient. That was a nice way of saying thank you. Will be back and glad I switched dentists.

Positive experience: I am traveling and on the way to Phoenix my tooth started aching. I phoned Delta Dental and received several dentist recommendations. Dentistry of Old Scottsdale were the only one who accommodated me. The staff were friendly and made me feel comfortable. I will use them again if needed. GOD bless you greatly.

Negative experience: After 8 years I am sad to say one rude hygienist has made it impossible to return to DOOTS. I don’t think she wanted to clean the man’s teeth in room seven so she told my hygienist clean his teeth causing me to wait over 20 minutes. My appointment was then cut short so they could stay on schedule and the full cleaning was not completed (no flossing was done). When I explained to her that her choice was inconsiderate she rudely replied, “Excuse me?” I explained my position again and was told that is how things are done at DOOTS. Sadly I canceled my next appointment that was scheduled and I will not return or refer again. Anyone know of a reputable dentist?

Fantastic experience: I had a stain on my tooth that was very visible when I smiled. It made me smile less. I walked in and was greeted by very friendly staff. The entire appointment lasted 15 minutes and when the dentist held up a mirror for me to see what he had done, my smile was as big as ever. I can tell that my excitement brought them joy. Negative experience: Classic bait and switch, was told it would be x amount for x-rays and exam was charged more upon arrival. Everyone is in a rush coughing and the workers in the back laughing. Most unprofessional atmosphere I have ever been in. Avoid this place like the plague.

Fantastic experience: I'm impressed!!! Coming from an office that gave me PTSD (Goldwater dental) please don't ever go there!!! This new place (Dentistry of old town scottsdale) communicated to me and took my shi!y insurance taboot!!! I've always had tooth issues it's a genetic thing I know I needed so much work because Of the many years Sjogren's (it affects my siliva glands) salivary glands protect your teeth!!! Anyways because of this immune disorder I've lost 8 teeth and it's all in the back chewing molars and pre molars(my God I don't have chewing teeth in upper and lowers) I'm on disability so I don't know how I'm going afford to pay for all these teeth that I've lost. But I have a good feeling about this place!!! Anyways they communicated with me the front desk is so cordial, cheerful and inviting. The place is very clean, I think I found my new dental home.

Fantastic experience: My experience was great. I had been going to the same dentist for 15 years before he retired so this was a brand new thing for me and Dr Brittain and his staff were awesome and super friendly making you feel at ease. Everyone was very upbeat and efficient too which I appreciate - definitely don’t keep you in the waiting room. Will be coming back here from now on.

Negative experience: I had an emergency appointment with Dr. Brittain. I saw him for what felt like 1min of the 40min+ I spent at the office. The issue I arrived with this morning persists as I write this. I experienced severe pain after an acute event which I described to him and his staff. Before I even spoke to Dr. Brittain, tons of x-rays were taken. I was told not to worry as they'd be billed to my insurance. I struggle to understand how the x-rays could have been related to the issue I arrived with and I don't recall this ever being explained or discussed. To my astonishment, very little of the visit was spent attempting to remediate the issue I showed up with. I was admonished for not going to a dentist frequently enough, told the issue was "about a day" away from 'going away on it's own', then given a bottle of mouthwash as the appointment ended. Very efficient seeming business. I'm sure it's very lucrative. Very poor experience as a patient.

Fantastic experience: Dr Brittain, Jazell, and staff: Always there when needed. An important tooth of mine decided to break last night, leaving pretty a pretty sharp edge. I left a msg after hours, and had an almost immediate response. They were able to squeeze me in at seven this morning, and by 10 o’clock I went home with a newly crowned tooth. Who could ask for more..

Negative experience: I have had a couple of visits at this location but unfortunately they haven’t been great. They don't really give suggestions or recommendations on how to have good oral care the hygienists do very minimal clean and that too overly bump into my gums and preform a sloppy clean up as if they were in a bad mood. For some reason the reception always has a very strong bad smell :( Not thinking to go back again.

Fantastic experience: I love Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale. I’ve been going there for about 3 years! The staff is very friendly and inviting. I like that they recognize me when I walk in for my appointments, makes it feel like a personal experience. My teeth are in much better condition from when I first started going. Fantastic experience: Dr. Michael and team is amazing!! I ended up needing to get root canal and unplanned of course, but they are so gentle and caring. They were able to help me and I wasn’t on schedule for the surgery and he scheduled me in. It takes time so I know he rearranged something to help me. I was able to get the crown the same day as the root canal. That’s unheard of! And they always follow up to make sure that you are ok. From the front desk personnel to the hygienist, the Dentist and his assistants (The assistants/ team) ! Thank you

Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic! I had a crown fall off on my flight to Arizona for a week long work trip and it was already driving me crazy after only a few hours. I called Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale and they had me come in right away. I waited less than 10 minutes and the staff were so kind and patient. I got my crown back on in less than 15 minutes! Fantastic experience: After my current dentist suddenly passed away, I was fortunate to learn of Dr Brittain and his practice. My first visit to his office couldn't have come at a better time. I was somewhat anxious about some dental work I was told I needed by another dentist. Dr Brittain and his staff immediately put me at ease, and the worries I had completely disappeared. The hygienists, Judy and Jenna were very professional and fun to talk to. I am completely hooked on Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 place. The absolute best people work here! I know I won’t be able to articulate my experience well enough to do these folks justice. They set me up with an appointment immediately once I flew in to Phoenix (from NY, after a wisdom tooth extraction 2 days before), and was dealing with a ton of pain that could not be managed with painkillers alone. They told me I could come in when I was ready -within the hour! (Amazing front office folks who were so easy to talk to, helpful, and very calming on the phone.) When I was at the office, after filling out minimal paperwork I was seen immediately by the hygienist(?) - who was the absolute best. She listened to me carefully, and addressed all of my concerns, and immediately helped me to find some relief (by flushing out my extraction site.) I was tested/xray’d, treated, and seen by the doctor (who was super friendly!), and reassuring. He gave me directions on next steps for my oral care, and they gave me an oral rinse/syringe (for free btw!) to help keep my pain manageable/extraction site clean. I genuinely have never had such a pleasant experience at the dentist's before, I continue to gush about them to friends and family because I am still blown away by the quality of care I received. I wish I could teleport their whole facility to NY. I never want to go elsewhere for my dental needs. That’s the only con.

Fantastic experience: I found myself in need of dental care - tooth extraction- last minute. I wasn’t even a current patient. They were able to get an appt for me almost immediately. X-rays , examination and the actual dental work happened in a whirlwind and at a very reasonable price. Nice staff all around.

Negative experience: Sadly has gone downhill over the years. Went from a small, personal practice to so many exam rooms you could get lost in there. Even though there are multiple doctors now, one wasn’t available on my last visit. Was told my X-rays would be reviewed and I would receive a follow-up. That never happened. My hygienist forgot to put on my fluoride and when I mentioned this at checkout they handed me some and told me to put it on myself. What a shame.

Negative experience: I had an unfortunate experience at Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale. I initially visited due to slight pain in a tooth with an existing filling. Dr. Brittan assessed that the tooth may be too high and proceeded to shave it down, which significantly impacted my bite. Despite giving it a few months, my bite hasn’t improved and my teeth have felt off since the procedure. It was also insisted that I purchase a custom night guard that cost $175. It doesn’t fit right and the technician struggled to remove it at time of the fitting and said it was because it was new. Since trying it out for a few nights it takes upwards of 10 minutes to pry the night guard out. When I returned to discuss my options, Dr. Brittan dismissed my concerns by attributing the issue to inadequate flossing even thought I floss and waterpik every evening. He proceeded to aggressively floss my teeth, causing damage to my gums, with significant pain and bleeding, almost to “prove” something. I feel this had no relation to the bite issue caused by him shaving my tooth down unnecessarily. Overall, I am dissatisfied with the treatment and the way my concerns were handled. I will not be returning and would not recommend this practice based on my experience.

Fantastic experience: I went to the same dentist and hygienist for the better part of two decades. They both retired last year. I'm so grateful to have come to Dentistry of Old Town. Everyone is so professional and nice from the time you walk in the door till the time you leave. I unfortunately went to another dentist prior to coming here and they told me I had multiple cavities and they were not welcoming. Well, Dr. Brittain had his team did x-rays and I had none! So glad I found an honest/well spoken dentist and hygienist (Marissa) after my previous experience and I'm a patient for life!

Fantastic experience: I visited Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale for the first time today and it is AMAZING! The office is clean and the staff are inviting and friendly. My cleaning was quick and effortless, and they even managed to fill two small cavities in the same visit! They are transparent with costs, and honest about what needs to be done versus what can wait/isn’t something to be worried about. They are informative about conditions and procedures and provided the “why” behind all of their recommendations. I’ve had a few bad experiences with shady dentists pushing unnecessary procedures or doing poor work, so I always get anxiety when going, but I was super comfortable here. I’ll definitely continue visiting Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale for all of my cleanings and dental care needs.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Dr. Michael Hess. I've been a happy long time client at Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale. When I had my last exam, Dr. Hess checked my neck and said that my thyroid felt hard and he could feel a swollen lymph node. I made an appointment with my family doctor and although she could not feel anything she sent me to get a thyroid ultrasound just in case. It turned out that I have 2 thyroid nodules. I had a fine needle biopsy a few weeks ago that unfortunately did not have enough cells to test so I'll be repeating that in a week. I am just so grateful that Dr. Hess took the time to examine my neck and was so thorough, as I did not feel anything and I would not have known about the nodules. Thank you Dr. Hess and the wonderful staff at Dentistry of Old Town Scottsdale.

Fantastic experience: Great experience at the dentist. I was long overdue for a cleaning but everyone was friendly and didn’t scold me too badly. Got a great deep clean, with numbing, and have scheduled some additional follow ups. Happy to be back on track!

Fantastic experience: My son & myself go here, everybody that works here are super friendly and just lovely. The offices are clean and nice, never grimy. Dr. Hess is a pleasant man, he is gentle.
