Negative experience: I’m deeply disappointed with this dental office. I was a patient here for about three years and had no issues until early 2026, when I needed to transfer to a new dentist. Despite multiple phone calls and emails, this office has refused to provide my complete dental records. They have only sent my X-rays and are withholding the rest of my records, including clinical notes, treatment history, and procedure documentation, unless I pay $100. Under federal law, patients have a clear right of access to their complete medical and dental records. The HIPAA Privacy Rule (45 CFR § 164.524) allows providers to charge only reasonable, cost-based fees, limited to actual copying costs (such as paper, electronic media, or postage). Providers may not charge retrieval fees or inflated flat fees, and fees intended to discourage access are explicitly prohibited. Charging $100 simply to release routine dental records far exceeds what is legally considered “reasonable” and is not compliant with federal law. Dental records are not limited to X-rays — they also include notes, diagnoses, treatment plans, and referrals, all of which a patient is entitled to receive. What I find most unacceptable is not just the refusal to provide my full records, but the lack of clear communication and the attempt to overcharge for information that legally belongs to the patient. I have filed a complaint with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and will pursue additional remedies if necessary. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others: this is how communication and record access are handled once you leave this practice.

Fantastic experience: On an extremely busy day, TCD was able to see me due to the excessive pain I was in. Dr Borel flawlessly extracted two severely damaged teeth with incredible skill. Every tech is highly skilled, incredibly kind, and go above and beyond to assist their patient- Dr Avendanio is also an absolute master. I’ve seen many dentists through the years, and no place has even come close to Turtle Creek Dental. I can’t say enough- They are the Very Best— A+ in patient care-

Negative experience: I have been a patient for several years, and I have always respected the quality of care provided by Dr. Bernard Avendanio, who remains an excellent and trustworthy dentist. Unfortunately, the overall patient experience at your office has declined dramatically. During my recent visit, I encountered extremely unprofessional and disrespectful behavior from office manager, Jenilyn, as well as from members of the front desk staff. Their attitude was dismissive, rude, and lacked any sense of customer service or professionalism. I left the office feeling disrespected and undervalued as a patient. It is disappointing to see how the atmosphere of this clinic has changed. Seven years ago, Turtle Creek Dental offered a warm, organized, and patient-focused environment. Today, it appears that customer service has deteriorated significantly. The front desk team seems untrained in patient communication, and their actions give the impression that revenue is valued more than patient care. I strongly believe that the poor leadership and behavior displayed by the office manager, Jenilyn, is contributing to the clinic losing longstanding patients. Her conduct does not reflect the professionalism expected in a healthcare environment and does not align with the standard of care Dr. Avendanio provides. I am sharing this feedback not out of anger, but out of genuine concern. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, courtesy, and professionalism at every step of their visit. I urge the administration to address these issues seriously and consider appropriate corrective action to restore the quality of service that Turtle Creek Dental was once known for.

Fantastic experience: can’t say enough good things about my dentist and hygienist! I am extremely particular when it comes to my dental care, and they always take the time to listen and make sure I feel completely comfortable. Every visit, I feel heard, cared for, and truly taken care of. Their professionalism, patience, and kindness make all the difference. I’m so grateful to have found a team I can trust! No pressure to agree to any extraneous procedures --- what needs to be done is done & anything cosmetic or an "I want", rather than "I need", is up to you. My latest visit (Aug. 1st.2024) supports all of the previous statements. Always treatment. Both Dr. Avendanio & Faith (my Dental Hygienist) are highly skilled at what they do --- they make dental visits as pleasant, entertaining & comfortable as possible !!

Fantastic experience: For many years I had been seeing a friend who was a dentist until he retired. My son recommended Turtle Creek Dental Associates. I have never had a better experience. Every one I interact with is friendly and professional. When Dr Avendanio goes over my xrays he explains what they show in detail.The dental technicians perform the best cleanings I ever had. I would recommend this dental clinic without reservation. You can be confident no unecessary procedures will be recommended and you will get the best of care.

Negative experience: Front desk customer service has gone downhill. Not sure if it's due to high volume customer demand, but staff come off as argumentive, negligent and lazy. Phone calls are not answered or voicemails returned. They used to have a nice automatic text reminder, which was great. Such a shame.

Fantastic experience: Great experience! I liked the staff and thought the pricing was reasonable. Just be aware that you have to schedule your dental exam and cleaning separately. I scheduled just the exam thinking that the cleaning was a part of it, and I ended up having to come back a few days later for the cleaning (they were just able to squeeze me in). EDIT 9/26/25: I just had what will likely be my last cleaning at this office since I am moving cross-country in a few months. I am genuinely going to miss this place. The front desk staff, the hygienists, and dentists are all communicative, helpful, and easy to work with, and everyone there is so kind. I want to particularly shout out Amy - she was my hygienist for most of my visits and she was fantastic. She was always gentle during my cleanings and encouraged me to communicate if anything hurt or if I needed a break. She is also a wonderful person and I will miss our twice-a-year chats. All of this to say, I’ve recommended this office to a bunch of friends and will continue to do so. Thank you Turtle Creek Dental for being so awesome!

Fantastic experience: I have dental anxiety, but Dr. A put me at ease. He was very nice, gentle and explained everything thoroughly. His DA Fatima was wonderful and very professional. I highly recommend Dr. A and his team for any dental need.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Avendanio and his staff are always prompt and helpful. The hygienists/assistants are always friendly and assist with any concerns. Dr. A will come in and discuss your exam, give you viable and helpful options. If you require any dental work, he is patient and will talk you through the process, leaving you feeling calm and at ease. I don’t live or work near the office anymore, but I make a long drive to see Dr. A because I haven’t found another dentist that provides the level of care that he gives me. If you are in need of a dentist who cares about your dental health and gives you honest feedback without trying to upsell you on unnecessary procedures, Dr. A and his staff are the perfect choice

Fantastic experience: Professional place. They’re always punctual, friendly, and dependable. I gotta give Dr. Borel credit. He cares about his patients and goes above and beyond. I did Invisalign with them and was not disappointed. Thank you Dr. Borel and team.

Negative experience: New patient as of 11/2020. Great experience with Dr. S. and really impressed with Dental Hygienist Hannah. She was efficient and thorough with cleaning and X-rays. Edit 9/4/2025 For five years, I was a loyal patient at this practice, consistently attending my quarterly cleanings and biannual exams. My experience started out wonderfully; the care was excellent, and the one time I had a dental emergency early on, it was handled quickly and efficiently. Unfortunately, over the last year, the patient experience has changed dramatically. I used to feel like a valued patient, but now I feel like just a number. It has become increasingly difficult to schedule appointments; what used to be a standard 3-month cleaning schedule has turned into a struggle to even get a 6-month appointment. My most recent dental emergency was a perfect example of this shift. When I called, no dentist was available, and I was unable to get the care I needed. It seems the practice's focus on expansion and new patients has come at the expense of their existing clientele. When I brought these concerns to the dentist, my feedback was dismissed with an excuse about the physical space in the high-rise. This is not a matter of space—it's a clear issue of patient management and a change in priorities from patient care to practice growth. The level of care has declined significantly, and it's disappointing to see a practice I once highly recommended lose its focus on its long-term patients.

Negative experience: I was really disappointed with my experience trying to become a new patient. I never received confirmation after booking online, and when I called, I was told my appointment would only include the exam, not the cleaning. While on the call, I found an appointment that would be a two-hour block, but was told it was only a consultation. I explained that this wasn’t what I had read online, but the receptionist showed zero empathy and it was clear she was inconvenienced by my call. Overall, the lack of clear communication and transparency made the process very frustrating.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Avandanio is a truly an amazing dentist That cares about his patients. My former Dentist was unable to keep a crown on, and it was coming off about every two months. I changed to Dr. Avandanio and he was able to spot the problem, put the crown on, and it has never come off again. He is very conscious about his patients being comfortable And treated well. He is excellent about communicating any dental problems, and presenting the options for solving the problem. I think his office has the perfect balance of professionalism and personal care. I have no hesitations in recommending him.

Fantastic experience: DR. AVENDANIO is the best dentist in the world! I had to have several teeth removed and replaced with implants. 3 different surgeries. He is kind, patient and the best at giving shots to numb your mouth. You can barely even feel it. I hate needles but im at peace when I know he is administering it. He has spent the time to make sure I have the best possible treatment just like I was family. I highly recommend him to anyone who hates the dentist. He will change your mind.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Alon Shalev and genuinely had a great experience. I was a bit nervous going in, but the staff was so kind and attentive that I immediately felt at ease. Dr. Shalev was clear, patient, and made the whole process feel manageable. I had VERY minimal swelling and pain by Day 2, and recovery was smooth. Communication was also excellent both the doctor and staff were quick to respond and incredibly helpful. I really appreciated the level of care and would absolutely recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Dr. A and his team are always so caring and gentle. I’ve been a patient there for many years. Although I no longer work near their office, I will gladly make the long drive for my dental care needs.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Borel 10/10! Going to the dentist is my least favorite thing to do, but Dr.Borel made me feel comfortable, he is the nicest Dr ever. He was more than willing to make cosmetic repair to my front teeth - I had been to another dentist beforehand who was unwilling to make the repairs. However, Dr.Borel did so without hesitation and did an excellent job… I finally love my teeth! The staff is also very professional and friendly!

Positive experience: Overall, a great dentist. I am very happy with the services received over two years. One thing I didn't like recently is that a temp was assigned to my appointment without notifying me. It was clear that the dental assistant was in training and needed to be guided through certain steps of my procedure. A day later my temporary crown came off due to her not tightening the string wrapped around it all the way. It was great to give people heads up especially with the amount of money spend on dentistry work.

Fantastic experience: Ok, I have only been in Dallas for two days after relocating and found TCDA online. So glad I did. Dental assistant, Elizabeth, is as professional as she is friendly. And ditto and kudos for Dr. Borel! I couldn't have been in better hands. Can't recommend this dynamic duo enough! I switched dentists in Dallas because I did not feel I was getting the right care at my last one. Dr. Patel and my hygienist were very professional and thorough. Felt comfortable and at ease my whole visit and will continue to go here.

Fantastic experience: I just had my 6 month cleaning yesterday and it was great. The hygienist was well trained and caring. I normally see Dr. Patel and he is an amazing dentist. I cannot say enough good things about him and his support staff. They make sure you are comfortable, tend to your needs, perform flawless procedures, and provide detailed after care instructions to keep you healthy and pain free. Negative experience: I had previously used this dental group for an emergency and they were so great. Then I tried to use them for recurring needs and have had a terrible time with their structure and operations. Cancelled appointments at the last minute, a rigidity that interferes with my ability to get care. I am very sad about having to go to find a new dentist.

Negative experience: Got a permanent bridge on January 21. Four days later, January 25, the bridge fell off during breakfast. Tried calling their emergency number. Three hours later no response. Called again. Did not get any response. Disgusting.

Fantastic experience: I have been to some bad and some good dental practices. This one is great. The whole team is warm and welcoming. I don't have any issues going to the dentist myself but if it gives you anxiety I'd say this is a practice that can provide a comfortable experience for all. But, most importantly, their work is thorough and precise. I got three fillings today and usually my mouth would feel lopsided from imprecise evening of the fillings. But my bite feels normal which feels rare to me after getting fillings. Thanks to the whole team!

Negative experience: I'll start by saying that the Dentist and the Dental Assistant are phenomenal. Very nice, caring and explain everything that is going on. However, the manager is rude and condescending. I tried to express a bad experience I had with a dental hygienist and her response was "are you happy you got that off your chest" in the most demeaning tone I've honestly ever received from a health care professional. The Dental Hygienist was more focused on not missing her lunch than providing decent customer service. The facility is nice but if you have terrible dental anxiety I don't suggest this location.

Fantastic experience: Had an old filling break while eating and managed to get a same day appointment with Dr. Borel. I was in and out in 1.5 hrs with a new filling that looks and feels great. Super friendly staff and very talented doctors. 10/10 experience and I will definitely be going to Turtle Creek Dental as my primary dentist from now on

Fantastic experience: Best Dental office in DFW! - Dr. Borel and team are true professionals. Had a filling last week that was giving me issues. I called in this morning and they got me in same day at 3:00 PM. The team took the time to identify the problem and resolve the irritation free of charge! If you are new to DFW or just looking for a new group for your dental needs, look no further! The office also has spectacular views of the nature in Turtle Creek .

Positive experience: The staff and location are both great. Very friendly and attentive team. My only issue is the SMS system that they use. They have it set up to send WAY too many texts. You have to opt in to all of it or totally opt out. You'll get a text that an appointment is set. Okay great. You'll get a text a few days out asking you to confirm your appointment. Okay, great. You'll get a text a day before your appointment again asking you to confirm your appointment. WHY? You'll get a text a few hours before your appointment reminding you. WHY? We are all adults and I don't like to be spammed so many times for an appointment. We all have cell phones with calendars and reminders. I wish I could control the number of notifications.

Fantastic experience: My husband and I went to see Dr A at Turtle Creek Dental. We are new patients. We decided to go to Turtle Creek because we were questioning the dentist we were seeing. I am so glad I trusted my gut. The office and staff were very friendly and professional. There was a calmness in the office that I appreciated. My cleaning was excellent! Dr A projected my X-rays on to a large screen and explained all the dental work, I have had in the past. He also explained about the health of the bone that secures your teeth. It was super informative and interesting. I am feeling really good about the future care of my teeth.

If you are looking for a positive dental experience (I had severe dental anxiety before finding Dr. A several years ago which has since melted away) I can not recommend him and the entire team enough.

Negative experience: I would give 0 star if there is an option! They charged us for the service we didn't get! We called them multiple times to clarify the services we had there and fixing the billing issue, and they said them would verify with the hygienist and call us back, every time! After few weeks, still didn't receive any call from them! Never had any billing issue with any other dental clinics! Update after more than 2 month： My husband went to their clinic 1 month ago to talk to them about the billing issue, whoever in charge confirmed that the billing was a mistake and they would fix the issue. Yet till now, the billing is still same, nothing changed, nothing fixed. I don’t understand why it is so hard to fix a such simple issue.

Fantastic experience: The most positive dental experience I’ve ever had! I was recommended to this dentist by a friend and now I can’t recommend them enough! The staff are friendly and inviting. They are extremely accommodating to patients and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable! They are located on the upper floors of the building, facing Katy trail, every patient room has a beautiful view of the city! If you are looking for a wonderful dentist experience that is anxiety free, look no further!

Fantastic experience: Before any work was being done on my teeth, I explained to each staff member that I had a horrible experience with dentists as a child, and my stress level goes up when enter a dentist office.Dr. Patel and his staff did an amazing job with keeping me calm and informed. Every step of the way, they were explaining how they were taking x-rays and ensuring that I was comfortable, and then doing a deep cleaning. On the way out, Dr. Patel stopped me and asked how the visit was.I highly recommend getting any dental procedure done here. Thanks!

Negative experience: Have gotten two cleanings done here and my Invisalign. The services were like at another place, however the reason I’m eating them low is the billing department. They’ve told me now three separate times that my bill is paid in full and yet keep charging me for additional payments having to do with my Invisalign plan. I paid off the remaining balance 2 months ago when I got my buttons taken off. I’ve called multiple times to ask about this and they say they’ll look into it and call me back. Both times I haven’t heard back. This is ridiculous.

Fantastic experience: I just recently moved back to DFW and spent weeks searching for my new dentist. I have visited the office twice and both experiences were wonderful. The entire staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable - I wish I could remember everyone’s name so I could shout them out. Dr. Borel is patient, thorough, and does a great job of explaining everything and ensuring you feel comfortable. I am glad I’ve found my lifelong dentist and plan to refer my friends and family here as well.

Fantastic experience: Amazing! I’ve been going there 2 years and it is perfect. The assistant Amy and Dr. Patel are fantastic. The cleanings and checkups are really thorough and the staff is super friendly. Definitely one of the best dentist offices I’ve gone to.

Fantastic experience: Amazing dental clinic. Dr Andrew has been excellent. He has replaced/put two crown on my already and they have have excellent quality. All personal is super friendly, and both hygienists and ruses are also excellent. I have gone through several clinics in my time in Dallas , and most treat you like an annoyance. Not in here. They make you feel like they really care about you. 100% recommended. Also if you speak Spanish, this is a great place since most people speak Spanish and can help you if you don’t speak perfect English.

Negative experience: I visited Turtle Creek Dental in October 2023 as a new customer for a regular Check/cleaning. The dentist recommended to do some additional work to prevent fillings. They used my insurance and I payed the remaining. 1 month later I received my insurance statement showing they overcharged me almost 200 Dollars. After several emails exchanges and calls with the front desk I have been told « no worries these insurance statements are not for you and they are too difficult for you to understand ».. I had my insurance calling them directly to clarify, they finally confirmed I overpaid. In January 2024 i’m still waiting for my ~200 USD refund.. I definitely do NOT recommend, administration staff is not serious at all

Fantastic experience: Dr. Avendanio is an excellent and nice dentist, he looks like a teacher and father to explain why I need to fix the tooth that I did not find cavity on it, but it is truly broken. I have many broken teeth need to be repaired, the upcoming treatment will be started. I appreciated so much for his profession and patience, and other staff in the dental.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Patel is the best!! Also his hygienist is so so sweet. I have dental anxiety but I felt safe under his care. He checked in on me throughout my procedure, which really helps me when I get anxious. 10/10 would recommend! :)

Negative experience: I was scanned for my retainers (Invisalign), after two months and three separate phone calls asking if they had arrived, only on the fourth call was I told that they haven’t even been submitted because I hadn’t paid. Why wasn’t this information passed to me the other four opportunities (1 during the visit to be scanned + 3 phone calls) they had? Wildly unprofessional, my business with them otherwise had been good prior to this.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Borel is amazing!!! He is the sweetest dentist. He is very patient, gentle, and thorough with the examination and assessment. The times I’ve been to the office have always been a pleasant experience. I would highly recommend this practice and Dr. Borel if you are looking to establish care with a dentist in Dallas.

Negative experience: Never even got past the desk. I made my appointment after finding through my discount dental plan website. When I made my appointment I told them I was using a discount plan for a new patient oral exam and gave them my information as well as the number to call and verify they were in network with the plan. they texted me a week later asking for my insurance information. I told them again it was a dental plan and gave them the same information again. I went in for my appointment this morning and as I was checking in the receptionist asked for my insurance again and I gave them the plan information for a third time and she finally called to verify. She said it would not be the $36 new patient oral exam listed in the plan because due to me being a new patient they also require x-rays and it would be over $300. This is understandable but they wasted weeks of my time and my morning today by not calling to confirm my plan till I was already there! and she wasn't even apologetic about it. canceled my appointment and left

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Turtle Creek Dental now for about five years and always have a good experience. My hygienist does and great job and is very detailed in her cleaning. Even moving further away I continue to make the commute for my cleanings rather than finding a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Avendanio is an amazing dentist and the nicest man. He always checks up on me and my family after my exam and is really good at reading patients. I needed a filling one day and he told me, “no, I think we’re going to schedule another appointment” and got me in only a few days after, but he didn’t do the filling the first day because he could tell I was upset about something, and I was. He just really, genuinely cares about his patients and it’s really lovely to have that in a care provider. I will never go to another dentist for as long as that’s possible!

Fantastic experience: My best experience to date. Seriously. The office met my off-the-charts expectations of cleanliness. The hygienist was gentle, thorough, and had an appreciated sense of humor. The dentist, Dr. Borel, was informative in a way that was easily understood (I asked a lot of questions). And, since the work I need is cosmetic and therefore not covered by insurance, I was happy to hear that the pricing will be better than proposals from other dentists. Happy to know these folks.
