Fast forward a few years… We will be moving to a different state again and one of the big questions we will need to answer at our new place is whether they have a dentist who’s as knowledgeable and professional as Dr G from LifeSmiles. The bar is set very high now and I just know that it will not be easy (if not impossible) to match that.

Fantastic experience: My family has been seeing Dr. Garpetti & his staff for 20 years or so, probably longer! That tells you all you really need to know but I will weigh in. His staff is seriously second to none, Dr. Garpetti is easy to get into & is ALWAYS available to hs patients in emergency situations! He seems to always be up on the latest technology & techniques but from what I’ve seen, he doesn't keep using the technology if it doesn’t work the way he believes it should or the way he wants it to perform! Besides all that, he’s a great guy!

Negative experience: I received Invisalign treatment from Dr. Garpetti in 2021. The experience was definitely a mixed bag. Dr. Garpetti did go out of his way to help me get a device that would speed up treatment and I felt like his level of service was decent and he is a friendly guy. However, I would strongly caution against using LifeSmiles Dental for any of your ongoing dental hygiene or Invisalign needs. After what I would classify as downright abusive behavior from one of the hygienists (who I actually had to ask one day if I had done something to offend her because she was so rude to me), my relationship with this office became pretty adversarial. Since you can’t really change providers mid-treatment, I was stuck going to this office that was regularly rude to me and I back to them in response. In 2023 (more than two years after treatment), I emailed and asked if I could order new retainers. I spoke on the phone to Dr. Garpetti and he told me he would check to see if the vendor would allow me to order without having to come back in for molds. I never heard back from the office and I figured someone dropped the ball, and I didn’t pursue finding retainers elsewhere. Then, many months later, I got a collections notice in the mail – which is insane and the first time in my life someone has reported me to collections. I never received an email or a letter with any form of invoice, ever. Through this infuriating experience, I learned that LifeSmiles had evidently placed the order without notifying me and invoiced me at an address that I had moved out of several years earlier. When those invoices were returned they didn’t bother to email me (they had my email as I have corresponded with them via email before) or find my new address and instead reported me to collections. Between that experience and having to have a tooth that Dr. Garpetti shaved down bonded at the end of my treatment because he removed too much tooth, I think folks would be better off seeking dentist services and Invisalign treatment elsewhere. Update: I don't really think Google reviews are a place to have a drag-out argument with a client -- but to be very clear, I had every intention of paying for and still wanted the retainers. I am not blameless in this, certainly, but hopefully this defensive position and response from their team is helpful for those in search of dental care if you're not looking for a mess. I called and spoke politely with a receptionist once I got the collections notice and said because so much time had passed, I asked to see documentation that I placed the order while deciding whether I was going to dispute the collections notice. Then LifeSmiles stopped corresponding with me and instead I got to be literally yelled at by a debt collector -- which escalated the situation unnecessarily. And, yes, the staff member I mistakenly called a hygienist was absolutely a member of the LifeSmiles team, and therefore my claim is not "invalid." Sheesh. I recommend Summit Dental in Boise -- Dr. Studebaker and his staff are thorough, friendly and critically, don't treat their patients like trash.

That quickly subsided after meeting Dr. Garpetti and Raelynne. From the front desk to the exam, I received great care and I look forward to my future visits.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my appointment with Dr Garpetti for my cleaning. I have been coming here for about 15 years. The staff is amazing and always so friendly and thoughtful. Office is always so clean and they are so timely in seeing you at your appointment time. Today I met Dr Hyder as Dr Garpetti wasn’t available. He was very personable and I know from talking to Dr Garpetti that he does excellent work too! I recommend them to anyone I meet looking for a great dental office!
