Fantastic experience: I had an 8am appt. My hygienist was punctual, professional and thorough. The Dentist followed with extreme care. I left feeling very well cared for. I might add, the waiting area is beautiful.

Fantastic experience: They are simply the best dentist I’ve ever been to! Dr. Liza did composite bonding for me last year and it has held up beautifully. It was affordable even without insurance coverage for that service. Office is clean and efficient. Everyone is friendly. I recommend them!

Fantastic experience: So great that I gladly pay the extra $$ for out of network to go here for Dental. The waiting area is comfortable, clean, and always tastefully decorated. Staff is friendly and professional. The cleaning/treatment “bays” or whatever you call them have always been clean, with what seems to be modern up to date equipment. Holly usually does my cleanings and she is great. I started seeing Dr.T Mercer as child, and as an adult eventually took my children here. The practice has grown but it has always been very professional and they do excellent work. I would recommend Mercer Sydell Dental without any hesitation.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Mercer Sydell for several years. They do good work, always try to be accomodating. Today they finished a dental implant and Dr Liza did a great job. This was a long, drawn out procedure from start to finish, but not Mercer’s fault.

Negative experience: I’ve been here 3 times now. First time they told referred me to a place that was gonna cost 200 dollars for just a consultation. The next time I came in I had a bit more hope. They found an infection in my mouth and told me I had to have a tooth extracted which was expected cause that tooth had been a problem for a while now. I left that day feeling hopeful as they told me they could do the extraction. I come in the third time, and that’s where my problem was. I tell them it takes me a while to get numb so we do about 6 shots of lidocaine and they get to work. After about 40 mins, it started wearing off so they did 2 more shots. They tried extracting it again, but I could still feel it, so then they put in 2 more shots. At this point I’m 10 shots deep. They then disappear and start talking to a different patient for like 20 mins and when they come back I can still feel it. At this point they tell me they aren’t gonna be able to pull it and I have to go to a surgeon. They say I can’t go in till the next day at 8 am. They sent me home after pulling the tooth 4/5ths the way out and after they cut it to pieces. They literally maimed me then sent me home with a half melted ice pack and some advil. I had to deal with that pain for a whole day until finally the next morning comes and I go to first state oral and maxillofacial surgery who got it out in about 5 minutes. Turns out, the doctor here, I believe her name was Dr Lyza, was putting the lidocaine in the wrong spot. They only took 4 shots over there. I felt nothing when they did it. So if you need any work done, do not come here. I wouldn’t even trust them to do a cleaning right. On top of all that, they had the audacity to tell me that my copay of 3 dollars was gonna be turned into a credit for the next time I come in. Like they really thought that was going to happen.

Negative experience: Went for an impacted wisdom tooth, didn't get the pain medicine and my appointment is 2 more months away to have teeth pulled. Honestly the xrays they took have made my face hurt even more. Thanks for not helping.

Positive experience: The office itself is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff, specifically the dental hygienist (her chair is the last one on the left) was very kind and attentive. She listened to all my concerns and answered all my questions. I had my 5 month old with me and they were very accommodating with her as well. The dentist was fast and came up with a plan promptly. I do have to say that the out of pocket costs are more reasonable than my former dentist. A routine cleaning costs just under $80. The front staff does a good job at explaining and breaking down payment options. Would recommend with the caveat that insurance does not mean you will not have to pay out of pocket for your treatment plan. Ask about any caps your account may have prior to scheduling so you are not hit with any surprises on your way out.

The staff was friendly and welcoming and dental tech was thorough and explained everything. I left with a dental plan that I thought was commensurate with the findings. Dental offices are not my favorite form of entertainment, but the staff at Mercer Sydell Dover provided a comfortable and pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: JT Licuanan here, and I am pleased to say that my family enjoy seeing Dr. Galen. Especially my youngest that needed cavity work done. Dr. Galen was understanding and talked to my youngest about the Procedure and what was to take place every step from beginning to end. Robin and another front desk admin are always ready to answer scheduling q’s and make efforts to accommodate w/ones busy schedules.

Shortly after the Dr came in and she too was very pleasant and I was comfortable and trusted the process. I believe the Dr’s name was Dr Liza. Negative experience: Would give 0 stars if possible. Front desk not friendly. Called to inform would be late for appointment, but never recieved a call back saying whether it would be a problem or not. Drove 45 minutes from sussex county and arrived to appointment late, as expected, and already informed them of but was immediately scolded by front desk for being late, and told would, "luckily" still be seen since there was an available appointment time directly after mine. When I scheduled this appointment I was ecstatic because I had such a hard time finding any other dentist taking new patients and that is the only reason I was willing to drive so far. Wish I would have waited for ANY OTHER, literally ANY OTHER, practice to have openings for new patients. Would have probably been more friendly and felt more comfortable getting dental service from the back of a dump truck in the middle of no where.

Positive experience: Five stars would be given if you hire a receptionist. The office needs a friendly face to greet customers. I had my usual teeth cleaning today- my hygienist was very thorough , but my teeth hurt for many hours afterwards. That is the first time .

I have bad anxiety and she and her amazing assistant took such good care of me and made me feel comfortable and calm which is extremely difficult for me to do. Fantastic experience: I wish I’d found this doctor sooner. Dr. Philip might be the best dentist I have ever had, and that's saying a lot. I’ve had extensive radiation in the past and my dental care is difficult and complex — and she’s fantastic at it. Besides being highly skilled, she never lets me feel a moment’s discomfort. Plus I really like her. I was an exec at FDA and then a hospital VP for years and I know a really good doctor when I see one. Six stars for Dr. Philip. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The dental assistant (didn’t get her name) remembered me from 7 months ago when I had a similar situation. That made me comfortable from the beginning. I’ve been with Mercer since 1995 when Dr. Tom was on Governor’s Ave; just him a hygienist and his receptionist. Dr. Mark reminded me of Dr. Tom’s demeanor. Highly recommend this dental practice.

Her expertise and gentle touch made the experience virtually painless - I didn't feel a thing until she had finished! Fantastic experience: The whole office was so good today and the ladies at the front desk and nurses and everything and Dr Mark was on point and made it comfortable in a happy atmosphere and the front desk was supportive calling my old dentist to get my records and I was in and out quick and it was awesome work by Doctor Mark for the filling, and I recommend Mercer sydell to anyone and I've been trying to get in this place for a long time and finally got in, the structure of their system is very good also when you first sign up to get in the door on the history and things of yourself, thanks Dr Mark and staff!!
