Negative experience: I thought they were great until I kept getting larger bills. What started as a $4,000 estimate has turned into a Christmas nightmare of over $1,000 in extra fees. DO NOT RECOMMEND! Bait and switch... Save your money!

In many cases, differences in insurance estimates occur when benefits are used outside of our office, or when insurance processes claims differently than originally anticipated. Unfortunately, we do not have real-time access to how or where benefits are applied, which can result in changes to the remaining coverage available.
Please know that it’s upsetting for us as well when anyone feels dissatisfied. Our goal is always to provide exceptional care at fair and transparent fees while supporting our patients in navigating their insurance benefits to the best of our ability. We would be happy to discuss any concerns privately and help clarify anything we can.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this office. I was going to a different office in Ashburn previously but felt like I never really received truly personalized care. I have seen both Dr. Cowell and Dr. Amer and they’re both fabulous. The last time I went, I had some cavities that needed to be repaired as well as doing a Curodont treatment on some early damage. Dr. Amer made this process so easy. I’ve never had a cavity repair go as smoothly as this did - she is absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend Harmony Dental Center!

Fantastic experience: I always love coming to their office because the staff is so friendly - and Dr. Cowell so genuine!!! Not only does she do general dentistry, I also got my Invisalign done through the practice as well. Highly recommend!! The last few times I've seen Dr. Amer and she couldn't have been more kind and gentle during a very stressful procedure. She continuously reassured me and let me know we could pause at any time so I could take a break. For anyone who is nervous at the dentist, she is a gem!!

Fantastic experience: What a relief to have found Loudoun Dental Smiles! Dr. Crowell is a lovely person, sweet and gentle and so very patient acknowledging and working with my fear issues. She takes time to answer all questions while never making you feel rushed. I am grateful to have found her, will never go elsewhere and recommend her wholeheartedly. I must add a second review after today! I woke with a slight toothache that worsened as the morning went on. They managed to set an appointment time for today, and when I called later in terrible pain, they said to come on in right away! That is true caring. I'm so appreciative.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Amar, and really everyone at this practice, is amazing. I have so much anxiety around dental work and they know exactly what to do to help me feel more at ease! A warm blanket, a fidget, and hgtv helped my double filling replacements be a little cozy. Did I feel silly for utilizing all of this… yes, but they never once treated me like a kid or like I was a weirdo for being anxious. They’ve been so kind and knowledgeable. Thankful for Harmony!

Fantastic experience: Had another great experience at Harmony! I travel all the way from Canada - partly because Dr. Cowell is my daughter ;) but my experience at the office from the warm welcome at the front desk, and gentle cleaning by the hygiene team is top notch every time. Negative experience: My wife went her for a new patient appointment and had to make a $103.50 deposit "in case the insurance does not pay". This shows a tremendous lack of trust and should not be tolerated! We have canceled the appointment and demand the deposit be refunded immediately. There are too many trusting dentists around for them to do this and I condemn them for such actions. We will not be using this dentist and I suggest no one else does either.

Our reservation deposit policy is intended to secure appointment times and ensure fairness to all patients in our schedule, similar to many other small businesses and healthcare offices. The deposit is fully applied toward treatment or refunded once insurance payment is received — it is never an additional fee.
That said, we understand that this process may not have been clearly explained, and we’ll be using your feedback to better train our team on how to communicate this policy in a more transparent and reassuring way. We’ve already processed your deposit refund and wish you and your wife the very best in finding a dental home that feels comfortable and aligned with your expectations.

Fantastic experience: I always have a great experience at Harmony Dental. Their facility is beautiful and their entire staff is so friendly, attentive and kind. They run the business efficiently so wait times are minimized and check-in/checkout is prompt. They are also very accurate (in my experience) with approximations for appointment times (I.e. this appointment will take an hour) which is helpful for planning your schedule. I have always had very kind, respectful, and personable hygienists. While there might be the occasional delay if the dentist has a lot of back to back patients, it is always handled with communication and respect. It makes going to the dentist a positive experience. My only complaint is that they apply a few to credit card payments, which is an inconvenience from my perspective, but everything else is wonderful.

Well, I went back today for my cleaning and - "COMPASSIONATE AND FUN! Now there's two words you don't see when talking about Dental Offfices! Dana did a super job on cleaning my teeth. Fantastic experience: The office is so beautiful and inviting. The administrative staff were all so up beat, welcoming and very pleasant. I have the pleasure to work with Dr. Cowell for my dental work. My teeth require a lot of extensive work and I have a ton of cavities due to cancer treatment. However, Dr. Cowell was able to put a plan of action together, for treatment options that best fit my goals for dental health. My overall experience was great. Also, the staff verifies your benefits and coverage before you come in, so that you're not surprised by fees and copay amounts. Which I really loved most. I would strongly recommend this office. They also offer emergent appointments for same day or next day care, don't quote me in that but I was able to get in very quickly for tooth pain. Please try them out, you won't regret it.i forgot to mention the dental assistant and hygienist, they were very knowledgeable and professional. Also very nice and kind.

Fantastic experience: I love coming to the dentist. Is that weird? I mean Loudoun Dental Smiles is what I’ve been looking for forever. The hygienist, Emely, who worked on my teeth today was so friendly and careful. She let me know what she was doing and continuously asked if I was okay or if anything hurt while she worked on me. Her and Dana were the two hygienists that have worked on my teeth and let me tell you…these ladies are great. I’m a woman of color and actually looked for an office that had women of color employed there…I found the best place. Nothing short of great client services. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved my experience at Harmony Dental! Erin, my hygienist, was amazing—so gentle, knowledgeable, and kind. She respected my allergy to fluoride and didn’t pressure me at all, which I really appreciated. Even if I weren’t allergic, we’re a fluoride-free family by choice, and it felt great to be supported in that decision. The whole visit felt relaxed, professional, and personalized. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Love the warmth. They greet you like family. Caring and thorough with their dentistry. I was able to get a short notice appointment to re-cement a crown that was older than 10 years and placed by another dentist. Luckily they were able to evaluate that the crown was still good and reattached at a great savings and possibly giving me another 5-10 years of use.

Fantastic experience: I am a new patient and admittedly, I was a bit anxious about my first visit. I started with a routine cleaning with Erin Baldwin and was entirely pleased. I followed up a couple of weeks later for a new crown because of a broken tooth. Dr. Cowell and her staff took terrific care of me and had me on my way in just under two hours. I am not a fan of the dentist chair but Harmony Dental and its' professional approach to dentistry has certainly earned my business. I'll be back!

Positive experience: I had two reasons for my appointments today. One is for the consultation regarding my existing front teeth crowns, the other one is the crown filling after my root canal. Dr Amer did an awesome Job explaining the details of the recommendation for my crowns. She’s very sweet, professional, doesn’t hurry up, answers all your questions. I had a terrible experience with another dentist and I’m so glad that I was able to switched to Dr. Amer. On the other hand, the office receptionist gave me a wrong information about payments. I usually calls ahead of time to make sure that I don’t need to pay for any extra with the appointment. I actually called first week of January and yesterday before my appointment, and both who answered the phone said that I do not need to pay anything. Upon checking out today, jasmine I think was her name automatically said that’s $250 for today. I told her I talked to someone yesterday and said that I don’t need to pay anything for today . IShe said the consultation is free but the crown filling is not. It could have been nice if they’told me about it because I specifically ask her about the two reasons of the appointment.$250 is a lot of money for us living in a paycheck to paycheck. That receptionist was snippy, rolled eyes on me, no empathy at all. So for you guys that is coming for extra dental Procedures, you better make sure how much you’re paying ahead of time and not be shocked at the day of the appointment that you’re paying this big bucks.

It's also a relief to know they take "Care Credit". The place is modern, HGTV like aesthetics.. I feel like an Elite person every time I'm in the place for about an hour and a half. Fantastic experience: Crown was made in the office while I watched, fitted properly and cemented in place in less than 2 hours. The entire staff was friendly and super helpful. Their equipment was amazing from the machine which made a digital impression of my teeth to the machine which made the actual crown. Oh and did I mention, for all intents and purposes, it was practically painless. They also gave me the option to watch the streaming channel and movie of my choice while the the whole process took place.

Fantastic experience: The staff and Dr's Cowell and Howard have been great with my dental care. Very attentive and good work in color matching fillings and crowns. Easy to book appts and a nice clean facility. Update 3/24/2022- I visited today for regularly scheduled maintenence. Wait time was very small after my time of arrival. The staff and hygienists were friendly and professional. I was greeted by several of the dentists, then was seen by Dr Cowell. I'm very impressed how this practice incorporates technology into dentistry. The mouth scans and 3-D imagining are incredible. Afterward, Dr Cowell and I discussed my future dental planning and tooth replacement concerns. Am very pleased with this practice. Update-8/25/21- am still impressed with the service and dental care at Loudoun Dental Smiles. Clean waiting room, friendly and informed staff, professional hygienist's and good dentists. Update 7/15/21- the office called to inform they will continue to be a provider for United Concordia dental insurance. Very pleased with this business decision. 5/6/2024- went in for a cleaning and check up. Dana did my cleaning and she’s tops! Dr Amer with follow up and she’s fantastic. This is a very good practice if you’re in the Leesburg area. 11/18/3024- regular checkup and cleaning went very smoothly. Dana was very professional in the hygienist chair. She did a very thorough job. Dr Howard came in to review and gave me positive feedback. The new office is a great layout and adds to the overall experience. Nicely done folks…

Fantastic experience: Doctor Howard put a new crown on one of my molars today. I’m a regular patient of this practice and rarely spend time with the dentist’s (most of my time is with the hygienists for cleanings). Although sitting in a chair for the crown process isn’t fun, I was really impressed by the confidence and calm attitude of the staff for my visit today. They took their time to determine if the crown fit well (and this is no easy task) - which made me feel really grateful. They didn’t rush me or try to upsell me on other procedures, but simply do a good job with the problem at hand and manage my expectations as to future problems I may expect from this old molar. Very happy with their customer service!

Fantastic experience: Just had a great check-up and cleaning with dental hygienist Dana and Dr. Amer. Everyone in the office was very nice and professional, and Dana and Dr. Amer did an excellent job examining and cleaning my teeth. Definitely recommend Loudoun Dental Smiles to anyone looking for a dentist in Loudoun County! Sept 2024 Edit: They are still great! Love the new office. Harmony Dental is excellent!

Fantastic experience: Love Dr Christy. So friendly and always lights up the room when she walks in. And as someone that is fearful of dental work and has had a lot of root canals and even 3 extractions for implants, I love seeing Dana and Erin, two of their dental hygienists. They are both amazing, gentle, and kind. They always put my fears at ease and make me feel happy that I came. They are THE BEST! I highly recommend Harmony Dental Center.
