Dental Associates of Northern Virginia in Skyline

Fantastic experience: Sophia did a great job explaining each step of this fairly new technique using laser water to clean the rough edges off my teeth. The office staff always greet me as I walk in the office. They manage my insurance and payments. Dr Fishman has looked out for my health and my family’s health professionally and expertly for years. All around Dental Associates of Northern Virginia has made the whole process painless with the end result of healthy teeth and mouth. Highly recommend this medical group.

Fantastic experience: Meena Naimee DDS is an excellent dentist. She explains everything she is doing with a very calming tone. Khatima, the hygienist is also very competent and calming. These two make an excellent team. Check in and check out was smooth and easy.

Most recently, Dr Su Jung Kang did some finely executed crown work for me. She is a most adept, talented, as well as friendly dentist. She meets the impossibly high standards of exceptional dentistry set by another dentist that I was also privileged to know at Dental Associates, the now retired Dr. Steven Fuchs. I am greatly pleased with my association with Dr. Kang and the Dental Associates of Northern Virginia in Skyline.

Fantastic experience: They are our family dentists for years. Good service and professional treatment is what you can expect from the doctors and the staff. Dr. Fishman always takes his time in examining my teeth thoroughly and gives good advice. The hygienist, Mina, is very professional and efficient. I highly recommend this practice. Fantastic experience: I don't normally post reviews but I have to say my new dentist, Dr. Lobo, is a "da bomb"!! I have a very low tolerance to pain and was extremely anxious about getting a crown on one of the back teeth. Dr. Lobo removed all fears of pain & uncomfortableness with a painless injection of numbing juice. He also consistently told me everything & every step he was taking. I was so impressed and happy not to experience ANY pain or discomfort that I decided on getting a second crown. Thank you Dr. Lobo you're the best!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dental Associates for 48 years, first with Dr. Fuchs, who was outstanding in competence and compassion, and more recently with Dr. Kang, who just completed extensive work with equal competence and compassion. Over the years, all the dental hygienists with whom I have worked have also been excellent. The support staff have been friendly and responsive. I recommend the practice to anyone seeking dental care in Northern Virginia.

Fantastic experience: Dental hygienist, Megan, is a breath of fresh air. Her sunny disposition makes a visit to the dentist more pleasurable than painful. She makes individualized recommendations for after-office care, which can help you in your effort to make your gums and teeth healthier.

Negative experience: They are just money hungry-point blank period! Every time I go to them they are trying to get me to have services that my insurance doesn’t cover. I’ve been going there for a couple of years and no problems with my teeth or gums. I went today and saw a new hygienist and different doctor and the experience was horrible! The hygienist took a ton a X-rays and was really rough during the cleaning. They came up with a ridiculous treatment plan that includes root canals, extractions, implants, deep scale cleaning and meds for that just ridiculous. I will not be returning to them anymore. I’m quite sure I’ll get a bill from them once they submit something to my insurance that I didn’t approve. Stay clear of this practice-it’s all about how much money they can make off of you. Very dissatisfied patient.

Fantastic experience: I’ve gone here for years. Dr. Fishman is wonderful…amazing “bedside” manner…it’s clear he cares for his patients. I moved further away several years ago but never even considered changing dentists. Great practice all around!

Fantastic experience: Not a big fan of the dentist chair, who is. However I had the best experience I've had in years. Dr Fishman is excellent. First time with Megan Cobb and she is fabulous. She talked to me through every step of the way, made feel very comfortable. Never thought I'd say this, but looking forward to my next check up.

Negative experience: Don’t feel Welcome or greet from the staff . When we called no one tell the name from office . Even hygiene specialists don’t verbal guide from front to the room. The front desk need to fix these Attitude which is not professional. Doc r good dr lobo and his assistant very professional and dr Meenai is well as well.

Positive experience: Great hygienists and doctors here, no doubt. Pretty money hungry though which should make everyone raise an eyebrow. I moved to a new area and in order to send MY OWN medical records to my new dental office, which is literally a free email, costs $25. Leaves you kinda no choice. Also, they did excessive X-rays that my insurance didn’t cover which costed me $75 more than I planned to pay. Unsure if that was an insurance issue but bummer they didn’t ask me reach out to insurance first since they knew they could’ve done less imaging for cheaper. Again, great providers but super bummed about the transfer fee, just feels greedy during a time when healthcare is so insanely expensive. I’d advise the practice to get rid of that fee policy and I’d consider returning to the practice if I move back to the area.

Positive experience: Great doctors, but please know what your dental plan covers before paying and leaving because mistakes happen and you may be charged more than you actually owe. Dr. Lobo was pleasant, professional, and got straight to the matter. His assistant was also great (apologies I can't remember his name).

Fantastic experience: It was a great visit from start to finish. Megan, the dental hygienist, is the perfect combination of professional and caring. The X-rays were quick and painless. And Sophia does the best cleaning. And Dr. Rotter is terrific for the bigger jobs, completely rebuilding the bottom half of my mouth.

Negative experience: The service at this office is going down the hill. During my appointment in Oct they found out my Dr. had left so they had to juggle to find another Dr. that takes my insurance. My son had appointment in Nov and there was no hygienist available, the tech who was doing initial work was splashing water all over his face and was harsh on the gums and kept on talking non-stop about her personal griefs about her job. We hope to get better professional services.

Negative experience: This practice is owned by a private equity group, and they only care about squeezing out as much money from their patients as they can. Long story short, I received a terrible filling for a cavity that likely was not needed. This filling is still causing me pain a year later, and my new dentist said the filling needs to be re-done. While I was still under their care, they made sure to squeeze another $70 charge for an x-ray to examine the problematic filling. If you manage to read my genuine review amongst all the fake and recently edited reviews that were posted many years ago, I recommend you avoid this practice and find yourself a dentist that puts their patients above profits.

Fantastic experience: 5 stars for me! I’ve literally been dealing with this dental office my whole life, as a child my mom used to take me to to the one in Springfield which we loved as well, and now in adult life I’m at the one in Skyline as it is closer & more convenient. I love my dentist and his dental assistant! They keep my teeth and gum health on point and they always encourage me. The ladies in the front are very pleasant as well, very calm, very helpful! 10/10 would recommend -AP

It is a happy reminder that his expertise makes that moment possible. Never a non-five star rating for these folks at Dental Associates of Northern Virginia Skyline. Dr. Rotter is an outstanding dentist and with great techs on staff.

Positive experience: Aside from standing under the xray machine for longer than comfortable, service and care were very good. I sat down for hardly 1 minute before I was called back - and this has been my experience the other times I visited. I had a gental and pain free cleaning. And the staff was professional, courteous, informative and friendly. And my doctor consult was one of the best. Very thorough.

Fantastic experience: All still true in Sept., 2025: Just had a cleaning and a dental exam. Jason the hygienist had some very helpful suggestions for maintenance. Dr. Fishman as always took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I am so glad we found this dental practice back in 1991 (not a typo).

Negative experience: The private equity fund that owns this dental practice only cares about squeezing every last penny out of its customers. Due to an error with how the dentist office billed my orthodontic services, my insurance only paid out part of the billed amount. It took me months to get this resolved and within weeks of calls to resolve this the office manager sent my account to a collections agency. Despite my insurance company reaching out to them almost weekly it still took months to get it resolved. The insurance company eventually paid the dentist and yet 3 WEEKS LATER and as many calls to the office I am still being harassed by the collections agency even though my insurance paid in full 3 weeks ago. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST OFFICE. Even the staff that worked there complained about how the private equity company that owned them made it difficult to properly take care of patients. 0/10 do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: Associates in all areas are polite, professional and show genuine care for the patients. The dentists and hygienists are skilled, honest and credible. I’ve seen several dentists here. Every one is excellent. This is the best dental team in the DMV.

Fantastic experience: I was a patient of Dr. David Butts for years. When he retired - I started with Dr. Kang and her Dental Assistant Sagar Zafar are a great team.My procedure took about 1.5 hours and they were very organized and professional. Dr Kang obviously cares about her work and drilled for about 20 minutes. Sagar stood by her side and assisted in the procedure. Fantastic experience: I was not notified that my doctor had called in sick and would not be available for my appointment. I would have rescheduled given the chance. I had the cleaning but I felt it wasn't up to the usual standards. I did not receive the polishing after the cleaning. I will discuss with my dentist on my next visit. I've been a patient for over 30 years and am very disappointed with the poor service I received.

Negative experience: Disappointing Experience at dental associates of skyline While Dr. Fisherman is highly skilled, my 20yr experience was marred by inconsistent treatment. Frequent last min cancellations and dismissive staff interactions made continuing care difficult. As a minority patient, I noticed troubling disparities in service quality. Hope the practice addresses these concerns for future patients.

Fantastic experience: I had a cleaning and then had an old filling replaced by Dr. LaBriola, and he did a great job. He treated me very well throughout the procedure, got it done pretty quickly, and the result was excellent. I was very comfortable throughout the procedure, and would be confident in him for other dental work in the future. His long hair doesn’t look like the stereotypical dentist, but don’t let that concern you!

Negative experience: They are totally scammer, They made me sign a paper and when I ask them why I’m signing this without getting the service the women told me that this is for the future in case I decided to get my cleaning done which I didn’t after. After reading so many comments about them I was kind of scared of them but since they didn’t send me anything I got relaxed. Guess what after almost a year they send me a bill saying they trying to reach me since last year, How? How did they send me the bill now? They are a scammers and I hope they get sued and get what this people deserves.

It’s clear that Dr. Naimee not only has excellent technical skill but also truly cares about her patients. If you’re looking for a dentist who is knowledgeable, compassionate, and meticulous in their work, I can’t recommend Dr. Naimee enough. I actually left the office smiling—which is not something I ever thought I’d say after a dental filling!

Fantastic experience: I've been a patient of Dr. Fishman for 12 years. He is amazing. He truly looks out for what's best for his patients and it's so comforting to know he's taking such thoughtful care. Recently, I submitted an appt request online and he took the time to call me directly to chat about my symptoms and then make time to see me to diagnose the issue. He's wonderful. Fantastic experience: New dentist, Dr. Garrick Labriola, has joined Dental Associates of Northern Virginia at Skyline. He is the best dentist I've had in years, and I've had many. Thoughtful, gentle, caring, a good listener and explains what is happening with my aging teeth. Had a tooth extraction I was quite nervous about, but Dr. Labriola took care of it and kept me calm. He has a gift; he is a gift. If you need a new dentist, I highly recommend him and the Dental Associates of Northern Virginia in Skyline!

Fantastic experience: Dr Kang and Sophia the hygienist are great. Answer all my questions and care about me. I started seeing Dr Butts' after my dentist of three and a half decades retired. Dr. B. was my dentist's dentist. He had to be good. He and his team made me feel comfortable and relaxed. He kept up with the latest developments and tools in dentistry. He had a light touch too. Now I'm seeing Dr. Kang and Dr. Noh who also iare well informed, pleasant and have a light touch. I ask a lot of questions because I want to be informed about what is happening inside my mouth. The dentist take the time to explain. The office staff and dental assistants are courteous and professional. The staff knows how to explain bills which can be complicated when insurance is involved. Dental care is not cheap but I highly recommend this place.

Negative experience: Another rude and unprofessional dental assistant that was very rude and short when i was getting panoramic x rays on 3/12/2025. Yanni is the assistant to Dr. Pyojae Kim on Wednesdays. Dr. Kim has excellent bedside manners but I had to have a conversation with the Office manager Sherry , who is very nice. Appalling!

Fantastic experience: I highy recommend Dental Associates of Northern VA (Skyline). My dentist (Dr. Kang) is awesome - very engaged, listens to my concerns and offers advice/recommendations. The office is well organized and modern. Also, the location and parking are convenient. Fantastic experience: Dr. Labriola is by far my favorite dentist. He is very patient and very informative with his work. He was really kind to my children, especially my almost 2-year-old who was quite disruptive while I was getting my cleaning. I also really appreciate his dental assistant. She is very kind and does an excellent job assisting him.
