Fantastic experience: 5 stars and I get it. They’re so kind here. Dr. Henry Lim is in a class of his own and I don’t say this lightly. He’s patient, kind and reassuring. The rest of the staff is wonderful, they treat you with respect and are so flexible. I enjoyed my experience here and that feels bizarre/funny to even say because it’s THE DENTIST. Can’t believe how great this office is. 10/10, 100 stars, highly recommend.

Antibiotics are only appropriate when there is an active infection. Prescribing them when no infection is present is not only ineffective, but can also contribute to antibiotic resistance, making these medications less effective if they are ever truly needed. Our recommendations are always made with patient safety and best clinical practices in mind.
Regarding your appointment, you shared with us that it wasn’t the right day for you to proceed with treatment, and we completely respected that. We scheduled a follow-up visit to continue your care, but the appointment was not kept and our attempts to reach you afterward were unsuccessful.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming here since I was a child and never had an issue until today. I was 11 mins late to my appt due to being at my grandmothers grave (it’s the first birthday since her transition 3 months ago). Instead of showing grace or understanding, the woman who checked me in said I was fine and to just call next time. I understood. But the other women staff behind the desk, took it upon themselves to have to a loud conversation where EVERYBODY can hear about patient lateness and what SHE does when she has an appt. Point is, it was very inappropriate for them to have that conversation on the floor in front of patients. Lady everybody’s circumstances are different and life is affecting people differently. Instead of trash talking patients in front of other patients, EXTEND GRACE to the next person as we don’t know what that person has going on. Be more human and less judgmental. Very rude, inappropriate, unprofessional, and uncalled for.

We do want to clarify that while we offer a 15-minute grace period for appointments, you arrived 26 minutes past your scheduled time. We understand that life happens, especially during such tender times, and we would have appreciated a quick courtesy call so we could do our best to adjust the schedule accordingly. Each appointment is carefully timed to respect both your needs and those of our other patients.
Regarding your experience at check-in, we’re very sorry you were made to feel uncomfortable by the conversation you overheard. That situation has been addressed internally, as all team communication—especially in patient areas—should be respectful and professional at all times.

I get pretty anxious at the dentist, but I felt reassured the entire time especially as she explained things to me. Fantastic experience: Very Friendly staff, So far I've went there for one emergency wisdom tooth extraction, another visit for some fillings and followed up another day for the rest of my fillings to be done. Negative experience: Reasoning as to why I gave 2/5 - I made it to my appointment on time at 9:30, although it said the office doesn’t open until 10am? I walk in and there are children behind the check-in desk. I was called back in a timely fashion and was introduced to my dental hygienist Dan. As I’m being lowered down into the chair it had been realized that the water pick he was to be using on me was not working. Fair, the pipes are cold and everything froze? He then relocates me to a different room where the water pick is working but is extremely cold and irritating on my teeth. I ask him three times to stop and on the fourth time he finally switches over to a general metal pick. He polishes my teeth and then tries to rinse. The water sprays all over my face and chin, apparently the machine wasn’t working? After x-rays were completed I was ushered back into the exam room to wait for the dentist. As I’m waiting, 3-4 people come into the exam room and try fixing the water pick while I’m sitting in the chair. They are yelling at one another. Dentist comes in, very kind. Apologizes for all the technical difficulties. But after he examines my teeth he tells me it’s time for my cleaning. I just had my cleaning. He goes “oh right, just have a few spots to clean up.” So apparently my hygienist “cleaned” my mouth but missed 15 mind worth of scraping? Overall I would not recommend, very unprofessional.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're so sorry to hear that your visit didn’t quite live up to your expectations. Let me take a moment to address everything, step by step:
First, about our hours—while the sign outside says we open at 10 AM, that’s actually for the doctor. While the Dr is indeed in the office at 9:30, he does not see patients until 10 AM. Our hygienist, however, starts at 9:30 AM, and we make sure to mention this when scheduling appointments. We apologize if you somehow missed that information, but you were seen promptly at your scheduled 9:30 AM appointment, so we're not sure why that’s even an issue.
Regarding the presence of children in the office: We completely understand how surprising that might have been. But, in case you hadn’t heard, it was extremely cold outside overnight, and in to the morning. So cold, in fact, that Philly schools opened late on Tuesday. Some of our staff, who are also parents, had to bring their kids to work just until school began. We can assure you, the kids were quietly eating breakfast, and we apologize if their presence disrupted your experience in any way.
As for the frozen pipes—well, that’s something we definitely don’t have control over. Trust us, if we could prevent the pipes from freezing, we absolutely would. Unfortunately, the weather got the best of us, and we had to adjust your room to ensure the plumbing wasn’t a further issue. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
On to the water temperature—yes, it was cold. Blame the polar vortex. But more importantly, the water runs through a heated scaling/cleaning machine, which can only work with cold water. Any warmer, and we risk burning your mouth with hot water. So, we’d like to keep you safe while we clean your teeth. We hope that makes sense.
Lastly, while things may have felt hectic, there was definitely no yelling or chaos happening behind the scenes. Our staff was simply troubleshooting the technical issues we were facing to make sure your appointment continued smoothly.
On the bright side, we’re thrilled that the doctor was able to thoroughly clean your teeth and remove any remaining tartar or buildup, leaving you with a fresh smile. While we’re sorry to hear your overall visit didn’t meet your expectations, we do wish you all the best in finding a dentist that’s a perfect fit for you.

Fantastic experience: amazing experience from start to finish. went to get clearance for my invisalign treatment and they gave me a cleaning. the dentist and her assistants made the experience so calming especially for me who has extreme anxiety about the dentist and tools in my mouths and really sensitive gums. they were so gentle and kind and made me feel so confident by complimenting my smile and hair and just being super friendly. i felt like i was hanging out with my girlfriends all while getting the best dental service. They filled out my forms for my orthodontist right there and gave it back to me and was in communication and on the right page with my orthodontist . Super efficient Highly recommend! oh and they gave me a goodie bag with dental tools which was super cute.

I gave Philadelphia dental-Moyamensing a try because of a promise I made to my mother before she passed away. Only yo find out I needed all my teeth removed due to bone loss. I am 3 months into this process and I can honestly say I am so impressed with Dr. Bang and his team. Personable and friendly, cooperative with my personal suggestions, caring, concerned and gentle! Truly a pleasant experience for such a traumatic need. Very happy to be in their care!!

Fantastic experience: Had an amazing experience. Extremely friendly staff. Needed to find a dentist close to home as I accidentally chipped my tooth and was able yo come in and have it filled within 30 minutes. Definitely coming back for my routine checkups and cleanings!

Positive experience: Henry and his assistant whose name I didn’t get was great. Very thorough and referred me to specialist for further work. It would have been 5 stars and but one of the staff was rude but she did do her job well. All and all my experience was good definitely recommend!!!

Positive experience: Had teeth sensitivity suddenly and they were able to squeeze me in same day - that was great! However, It was quite difficult to get a hold of someone on the phone. First day I tried to call in the phone just kept ringing and I dialed a couple times. Today I called and was transferred to the office and was still unable to get a hold of someone. 3rd try was a success. Overall great professional services - I recommend highly!
