Pope Family Dentistry

Negative experience: I don't have anything kind to say about this practice. I went here because of a swollen palate and gum tissue that was causing rather extreme pain. Huntsville Hospital admitted me to the emergency room for the issue I tried to have addressed here at this practice. After initial admission and discharge from the er, the swelling continued and progressed to my cheek area, so I came back to the emergency room and was re-admitted. What I don't understand is this practice's complete neglect of the obvious issue of inflammation. They took one x-ray, examined for five minutes, and suggested an endodontist and medicated mouthwash, neither of which they followed through on. I was then summarily dismissed with no concern for my pain or the abscess that Huntsville Hospital diagnosed. this practice is a complete failure for me.

Dr Shadinger as always was great. Also the front staff is friendly efficient and worked me to reschedule my appointment twice. Great job by all.

He gave me different options for one tooth. The entire experience was delightful. Truly. The office is beautiful and full of light. Each room where you are taken care of has a window to look out of...which really makes a difference. I would recommend this office to anyone. I even have my husband changing from here on out. Nicki at the front desk is the sweetest person to greet you when you arrive and the sweetest one to say goodbye as you leave. Lajoyce is a fantastic dental hygienist, and I always have a great time in her chair! How could dentistry be fun for an anxious dental patient?! This place is just the best! Thank you all for making my visits so comfortable. The office is beautiful — inside and out!

Fantastic experience: I had to have a tooth extracted and a graft put in. Dr. Pope was kind and caring. Even though my mouth was numb he let me know what he was doing. His assistant was very kind, friendly , and caring. She kept checking with me to make sure I was okay. Although this wasn't a fun experience they both made it as pleasant as possible. Afterwords, Nikki at the front desk was kind. I highly recommend Pope Family Dentist. Everyone is always nice.

Fantastic experience: For my very first visit I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I sat down for less than 1 min before I was called. I showed up 15 mins early just in case. I got in, completed X-rays and my thorough cleaning and had me out the door in 35 mins. They took the time to chat with me while doing the work which was nice as well. I have to say, this is the first time I didn't have anxiety while at a dentist. Great environment, building is beautiful, great location, and the staff is amazing. Thank you for a great experience!

The technician greeted me at 1355, and asked me if I had experienced any problems since the last visit. Beth examined me and proceeded to perform a semi-annual cleaning. Her expertise was nothing short of outstanding. She ensured I was comfortable and felt at ease. I would definitely recommend Pope Family Dentistry!!!!

Negative experience: After my check up I was told I had a cavity on the left side and he'd catch it later. Im 72 and also asked about teeth whitening to which he blew me off. I now see someone else.

Fantastic experience: Jonathan Pope has been my dentist since he started his practice. He is always friendly and very professional and so are his staff. One time I cracked a tooth and called his office. He was out of town, but he returned my call and had me take pictures of the tooth. When he saw what the issue was, he eased my fears. Once he returned, he fixed my tooth and it has been fine ever since.

They are unique, kind, professional, caring, very attentive, etc. I could continue with the positive adjectives but I digress. Meeting these folks were a blessing, and the experience really made my day better. PFD was recommended to me by a friend. Money and time well spent. Southern Hospitaliaty at its best.
