Fantastic experience: The office staff, hygienists and Dr B are fantastic. I just had a crown placed, this is not the first, and they always let me know up front what my cost will be and how long it will take. Dr B explains what he’s doing and what my options are. I’ve never had a problem with the crowns he’s placed.

Negative experience: If I could give zero stars, I would. I’m not sure why this place shows five stars—it feels misleading. I want to share my experience with Nittany Dental Associates so that anyone considering cavity work or crowns can think twice before going here. I had tooth cleaning, cavity filling, and crown work done at NDA. * Tooth cleaning: It was okay, though rougher than my dentist in New Orleans. At least it didn’t hurt. * Cavity filling: This is where my nightmare began. The dentist repeatedly insisted on filling a cavity in one of my back teeth, even though I had no symptoms and my former dentist had told me the cavity was very small and not urgent. I eventually agreed, thinking it wouldn’t cause problems. After the filling, the dentist told me I might feel something for a few days, but it would go away. Instead, the tooth became extremely sensitive to temperature—I couldn’t even drink cold water. One week later, during a two-month business trip to Boston, the pain became unbearable. I couldn’t sleep, let alone work. It took three days to find emergency treatment at Boston University. The dentist there told me the nerve had died from infection and had to be removed (root canal therapy), meaning my healthy tooth was now dead. They did a temporary filling until I could return to State College. When I came back, I called NDA to complain. They offered no compensation and initially scheduled the root canal for a month later. Only after I complained to the front desk did they agree to do it the next day. They then recommended a crown. I refused—by now I doubted their abilities and was preparing to relocate—so I requested a permanent filling instead. To sum up: I started with a perfectly functional tooth with a tiny cavity. I ended up with the nerve extracted, a tooth that still needed additional treatment, and all costs paid out of my own pocket. * Crown replacement: I also had an old crown (over 10 years) that I wanted replaced. NDA told me the old root canal had been done “improperly” (despite it functioning well for a decade) and insisted I redo it. I agreed before moving away. Soon after relocating, I noticed a bubble on my gum below that tooth. When pressed, it disappeared and I could feel fluid flowing inside. I am now seeing another dentist for this. Overall: If you are a new patient, be extremely cautious when choosing NDA, especially if you have other options. My experience has been costly, painful, and deeply disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I literally fear the going to the dentist. Not at Nittany Dental! The staff is top notch. I was having a problem today and they fit me in for an appointment the same day! Dr. Senior is the greatest. She makes you feel so comfortable and talks you through everything. My 8 year old loves the dentist! They are always fabulous, generous with their time. Had an emergency appointment today with Dr.Senior. They fit me in right away without waiting. Now, the outcome sucks for me, but they really are the best.

Fantastic experience: Have you ever been to a Dentist and never experienced “no pain?” Dr. Robert Bellush has techniques and knowledge that you will never feel any pain when getting the injection for crown work! He will numb your mouth area with no injection needle pain! Wow!

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience inspite of my high anxiety. There’s nothing like looking into the eyes of big sloppy doggie slides to make you feel loved and relaxed ; to ensure the procedure went well and The doctring was perfect, but I didn’t get any dogs to take home.

Fantastic experience: We took our almost 3 year old for his first full cleaning and they were so patient with him. We love Dr Bellush and would recommend him to anyone. 3/18/25 - The dental hygenists and Dr Bellush are amazing with kids and adults alike. My 2 yo had his first brief exam today (no cleaning) and was hesitant but did eventually open up for Dr. B to take a look for any issues. He sat on my husband's lap the whole time and got to watch his big brother for his cleaning which only helps.

Fantastic experience: I just had a dental cleaning and general dental check-up today. Checking in and out were both easy. The front desk staff were very pleasant and professional. The office was running on time, as always. Kristin is my hygienist now, and she always does a great job, taking extra care to remove the stains that happen from blueberries, beets, spinach, and fresh produce, in general. She is personable and terrific at her job. Excellent work! Thanks! Also, I had a different hygienist in the past, and she was terrific. I have not needed dental work since I started with this practice, but Dr. Bellush has been thorough in checking my teeth and xrays.

They always impress me anew with their care, expertise, and wisdom on the best course of treatment for my old teeth. And, they keep up with technology and current best practices. Negative experience: Their hygienists are okay but the amount of times I have dealt with Lois' attitude is ridiculous. The worst customer care rep in any dental clinic I have ever been to. If this was not State College, and there were no people as is, I would have been long gone.

Fantastic experience: I hated the dentist for years and have tried going to other places. Eventually I stopped going for like 5 years and when I broke a tooth 3 years ago they were the only place that could get me in ASAP. I was so impressed by the staff and service that I found my new dentist. Everyone is always nice and smiling and offering tips on how to improve your dental health instead of making you feel bad for not doing something right. Dr. Senior is amazing at remembering details about your life and it makes you feel more like a person than a patient. I HIGHLY recommend going to these guys!

Fantastic experience: Nittany Dental is one of the best dental organizations you can find. I trust them for my dental care and feel very fortunate to be one of their patients. (And believe me, I have gone to many dentists in Centre County since 1981) Every staff member is professional and supportive in their specific field. This is probably the only time I have gone to a dentist without being filled with fear. I believe their costs are fair and their work is exceptional! I will continue going to Nittany Dental, even without insurance.

Fantastic experience: (5/13/24 @ 4:10pm). My dental hygienist was friendly and definitely cared about me being her patient. From the time she greeted me in the lobby to the time she took me out to the receptionist to leave. She explained everything she had to do and great communication with any question I had. I made the statement “thank you. I got to keep my teeth all my life and I try.” My hygienist replied “I love hearing that!! I love when my patients feel the same way I do.” Thank you for all you do and being very proficient. See you again in about 4 months.

Fantastic experience: I came in for a routine cleaning this morning where I was immediately met with smiling faces by the ladies at the front desk. My hygienist (Emily) was kind and friendly. I also met with the dentist. She reviewed my X-rays, checked the health of my teeth and gums, and gave me a “thumbs up” of approval. It was a great visit.

Fantastic experience: All of the staff members and Dr. Bellush were efficient and friendly as usual. I have suggested to new members of our Community of Liberty Hill, to go to Nittany Dental. It's the most efficient and friendly dental office that I have ever been in.

Our children (ages 5 and 8) recently switched to this office, after an off-putting experience with a pediatric dental office, and everyone at Nittany Dental were so kind and patient. Fantastic experience: The entire staff was welcoming and friendly. They knew me as soon as I arrived. I was there for an emergency visit. I was seen almost immediately. The dental hygienists worked extremely well together and they were quickly able to locate and extricate the piece of carrot lodged below my tori. I AM SO APPRECIATIVE OF DR. SENIOR AND HER SUPERB STAFF. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TEAM TO MY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!
