Negative experience: Not happy the last few time ago because we’ve been patient here long time when my kid is little so now my daughter is 15 year old today to be honest with you guys not happy because I’ve been over an hour and 40 minute in there and my appointment at 9:30 and 10 i was get out 11:12 when I get there, I tell the front staff I have to be out of here before 11 very disappointed today

Fantastic experience: My daughter has been receiving Invisalign treatment with Dr. Moadel at Children’s Dental Fun Zone and the experience has been outstanding. The difference of getting Invisalign from an orthodontist shows in every step of the process. Fantastic experience: This place was great! It was my daughter's very first visit so we were both a little nervous. The staff was absolutely wonderful. They were fast and efficient and very nurturing with my 14 month old. Dr. Hsien was informative and gentle and an absolute dream. Her assistant Monica put the biggest smile on my daughter's face and comforted her when she began to cry. I am very excited to make this place my daughter's dental care home.

Positive experience: Overbooked and waited for 2 hours. Checked in 3:15, my first appointment was at 3:30 and my other daughter was at 4pm. We didnt get seen until 4:30pm and didn’t leave until 5:15pm.

Positive experience: Kids had a good experience. Place seems clean. Wait time is insane. Even with an appointment, it took us over an hour to be seated. These wait times are too long for kids to get a standard cleaning.

Fantastic experience: They are always kind and professional. The day we went to put braces on my son the girl that was working with my son was amazing. My son was super nervous and she was super nice and patient. As a parent that is extremely important to me and very appreciated. I dont remember her name but she had purple hair in the front. Fantastic experience: Positive visit for my 6-year-old. He had his teeth cleaned. He likes the big aquarium in the waiting room and the fact that he gets a toy and a balloon when he's done. He was even given a second set because he asked if he could take something to his sister at home. The dental employees work well with kids.

Fantastic experience: * July 2025 review* I previously had a bad experience at this location and realized it was just with the previous dentist that worked here. My last couple visits have gone very well. My child is diagnosed with autism and had severe anxiety when it came to dentist visits and he used to cry and scream the entire time. His anxiety has improved thanks to the patience and support of the staff and dentist. They take their time explaining the tools they are using and letting my child know what they will do next, and answering any questions my son has. My child has successfully gone through his first visit without crying AND letting them take his xrays. Thank you Childrens Dental FunZone Montebello !

Negative experience: They didn’t give me my benefits upfront so I asked the dental assistant she seemed very annoyed by me asking. Meanwhile I was sitting with my son he is 2 years about to be 3. I was practicing ok can you say ahhhh and cheese and he was very willing and happy to. When the dental assistant came back she said to me everything should be covered thru insurance and I responded with "Should or they verified?" she seemed very annoyed and said, "Yes they checked that's what they told me." Dental procedures are not cheap so to act as if I am annoying her for wanting to know if I need to pay anything just seems wild but anyhow. They checked my son and by this time he was a little more scared after watching the kid next to us which could have been avoided by providing their patients privacy. Anyhow the dentist told me to hold his head back which I informed her I would not be doing. I asked by son to put his head back and he did but was very hesitant and scared. The dentist did not take any time to bond or make my son comfortable before putting her hand in his mouth to open it so she could see inside she did not ask him to open or say ahh didn't speak to him at all. My son started to cry and I told him to say ahh so she could see and even though he was crying and scared he complied and opened. She was able to use her little mirror to look and then without warning proceeded to put a tooth scraper in his mouth to scrape his back molars. He was caught off guard by this and frankly so was I cause there was literally no communication not even like ok now I'm going to just gently scrape his back teeth it shouldn't cause pain but make sure he doesn't move so he doesn't impale himself which the sharp object in his mouth. Nope nothing no communication even towards me. I just simply don't understand why go into a field that involves children if you don't have the patience for children or just a basic bedside manner to be around people in general. When they did the X-Ray another dental assistant a male this time came to help the female that was originally working with us and proceeded to very quickly force the thing that you bite on during dental X-rays in my sons mouth hold his face and told the girl to take the picture. They again did not tell me or ask me for consent to handle my child that way before doing so. When I returned back to the dentist she said, "There is nothing wrong with the tooth but if you want we can do a root canal and crown but we will need to try laughing gas first and I'm not sure if he will comply so we will need to hold him down." I was stunned like hold old did you just inform me there is nothing wrong with the tooth but you still want to do work on my child anyway? (I'm sorry is this where Gypsy Rose's mother brought her to get unnecessary dental procedures? I was stunned to say the least) ... She followed up with, "Or we can just monitor it and make sure no sensitivity or infection signs happen." I took my kid in because I noticed one of his teeth had discoloration and looked a bit more gray. I was so flabbergasted what is happening here. So I asked for clarification, "So you're telling me there is nothing wrong with his tooth?" Then she said, "Well no, the X-ray doesn't show any trauma. " "Ok then what about the change in color?" And she explained, "If he hit himself it could be possible that the discoloration is just a way of his body healing himself."So then why in the world offer a root canal and a crown? Honestly by this point I didn't care to ask you couldn't get me out of there fast enough. All in all I would never recommend this place to anyone. Customer service was horrible, privacy was non-existent, they did not properly communicate about benefits and even less about the actual care. Overall the communication was just lacking altogether. The service itself was impersonal, slightly traumatizing. I don't think I have anything good to say about it other than their decor in the waiting room seems to be with children in mind but the actual care itself absolutely does not have children in mind whatsoever

Fantastic experience: I love children's dental funzone. I've been going there since my daughter was 3.The lobby area is welcoming because it entertains kids with either a movie or games in the tablets posted on the walls. The atmosphere is pleasant from the reception area to the hygienist in the back rooms. I recommend this place for dental care.

Negative experience: There was a male dental assistant by the name Winston that was extremely rude and unprofessional. Also one of the females that was in the back helping out was also rude but I didn’t get her name. But back to Winston, when I asked him if the foam that he put on the tray was fluoride he said yes, I then told him I didn’t want to use that on my son. Which seemed to upset/bother mr. Winston he then says with an attitude “well I guess no cleaning for you then” proceeds to say with some attitude “you know the other stuff also has fluoride in it too” which I then ask “what’s the difference “ to which he responds the foam is more concentrated the other stuff has less fluoride”he then walks away to the next patient as I’m trying to tell him if we can use the one with less fluoride in it. and leaves us waiting with no answer or explanation as to what is gonna happen next. There was another dental assistant in the back that overheard and kindly suggested using something else I believe she called it pumice that doesn’t have any fluoride in it that Mr Winston failed to offer us. I did ask to talk to the office manager and made a complaint about him because how he handled the situation was uncalled for and very poor service. I’m really big on customer service and that’s the exact thing that brings be back to a place and I’m not quite sure if I will be back here again but on a better note the Dr. Was extremely professional and very nice and so were the girls at the front desk. I don’t recommend this place. The staff in the back is rude except this older lady who is always sweet. When I take my 3 kids they call them in one at a time using the same chair. Which means we’re there for a long time. But while I’m there another family shows up and they allow all 3 kids to the back with mom and dad. But told me 1 parent and one child at a time. Honestly almost every time I’ve been here it’s always something. Don’t come here

Everyone is patient and takes the time to talk to the children, calm them down, and help them feel less nervous. My son walked out and told the dentist, “You are the best dentist ever.”

Positive experience: I like that it was fast and quick. But as a parent of a child with special needs I feel the dentist could have been a little more aware of her special needs. I did call in advance and let the receptionist know, but I’m not sure if the dentist was made aware. But overall we liked this place.

Positive experience: Been going here for three years and I have never felt like I was being tossed aside like today. The male dental assistant wasn’t even trying to do my autistic son cleaning. My son turned his head once and the assistant was done. Thank goodness I won’t be coming back.

Negative experience: Had a horrible experience with the dentist who treated my daughter. The assistant was great if it wasn’t for her it would’ve been worst. I understand procedures hurt and they are scary , it’s a kids dental ! I thought the dentist should be educated enough to deal with a child’s anxiety and fear and pain , by handling it with care. NO! Her dentist who did a root canal and extraction wanted my daughter to not move her hand (she was opened and closing her fingers because the laughing gas made her body feel weird) she kept on telling him that “ my body feels weird I don’t feel like myself ) she 7 by the way. And instead of him explains he kept on telling her ok breath stop talking. When he was working on her she did yell was crying and told him it’s bothering her as they as us adults when we go and usually my dentist stops and hears me out , well this dentist kept on going and was telling her well is your fault you need to stop crying and talking it’s your fault you’re in pain. I tried to tell him he had to be more understanding and reassure her and he said I am but I’m not gonna be talking to her , he even tried for me to go outside because “my anxiety was rubbing on to her “ and he was being so forceful with her it was a horrible time for my daughter and for me by just watching someone treating her like that.

After a few attempts we decided it was best to have him put to sleep to get work done and I was very nervous but their team did very well to ease my mind. They kept me informed the entire time and answered every question I had. The dentist and anesthesiologist reached out to me hours after we went home to check on my son. Such a great experience in a very stressful time.

Negative experience: Place was clean, staff was polite. This was my daughter’s first ever dentist visit, my appointment was at 11:30am and I arrived about 10 minutes before her appointment time. When we arrived there was about 3 other families waiting with small children. We waited in the waiting room for about 30 minutes. During that time a lot of families with older children arrived. When we were finally called in and my daughter’s tooth x-rays were taken, we waited for another 20 minutes to be seen by the dentist. My daughter is 3 and she was already so impatient to get up and go I couldn’t get her to sit and wait anymore. I was very frustrated because I noticed the dentist helped all the families that came in after me, which were also older children. Considering I came in on time and my daughter is only 3 I didn’t understand how all the families that arrived way after me and with older children were seen first. Im very unhappy with the experience, this was my daughter’s and I first visit here, and let me tell you I don’t think I want to bring her back.

Negative experience: I been here for my daughter dentist for a long time now. They "were" amazing with the care. But lately they didn't deserve my 5 star. Couple of weeks ago, a back office staff was rude to me, when I ask a simple question about procedure they were going to do, to better understand. Then after returning for another appt for fillings and cleaning, they had my daughter under laughing gas before starting and then telling me afterwards they were not going to do the procedure and try a different method instead because of the scans they see were not necessary for something small. This completely wasted me and my daughter time coming in, when she could of been in school. I hope they fix this minor issues I been having with them lately or I'll have to look else where.

Positive experience: Usually we have a good experience at this place but we had came in 10 mins early and checked in. There was only one person ahead of us and then about 6 more people had came in after and checked in and everyone that came in after us were taken in first. We were the last ones to be called in and were called in about 20 mins after our appt. I even went to the front to let them know and they just said we would be next. This has not happened before but it was not a great experience.

Fantastic experience: Best dentist ever! I live in Compton but I've been coming to the montebello location for my 10 and 8 yr olds since they were 1. I love that this place is always clean, it has tablets to keep the kiddos entertained while you get called in. The staff is friendly and welcome you. The drs are always very friendly and nice and take the time to explain. What i also love is that its orthodontist too so if my girls need extraction or other things the specialist there is a plus! I wouldnt change my daughters no where else even though it takes me 45 minutes drive . Great location i highly recommend!

Negative experience: Horrible experience for my 5 year old grandson. My grandson was pushed down and held him down with 3 other adults, and stretched his mouth aggressively yelling at him telling him to stop crying.How can you use the strength of 3 adults to hold a 5 year old defenseless Autistic child? That’s an abuse!!!!

Negative experience: Front staff was very friendly. Once inside they did my sons check up then told me because he is 16 they could not treat him. Then why say you see minors up to 18yrs of age. So they basically sent him home with a cavity. Waste of time for sure. Very unprofessional of them to do that. They just got to charge my insurance for the visit. Going to report them for not seeing my son. Do not go there if you have teenagers.
