Fantastic experience: This team made us feel comfortable from intake on the phone through post visit follow up. My son gets very anxious, but at CarlsbaDDS he felt comfortable with James during cleaning and Dr. Tsai during exam. Dr. Tsai listens and gives options for the best outcomes, even on difficult cases.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tsai, gave us the best recommendation to help with opening up our daughter’s bite. She recommended occlusal stops in the back molars and we have definitely seen the best results. She explained everything and also was honest by telling us that it may or may not do a big difference. It definitely saved us a lot of money in the long run with orthodontics work.

Fantastic experience: Been taking my daughter to this dentist since she was very small. It's amazing, the staff is incredible and if your kid is nervous they have so many ways to help them. They always give prizes and treats at the end. They have TVs on the ceiling that the kids can see from their chair during the care. Good waiting room too!

They do a great job not only talking to myself as the parent but taking their time to speak to my kids directly with explaining findings, showing pictures, and talking about what they can do to improve their techniques. They were kind and understanding when we had the cancel do to an illness and had us right in a week later. We have been coming here about 4 years now and I won't be leaving until we outgrow them!

We had an emergency situation when someone knocked my sons tooth out on the playground, the doctor responded immediately after hours and walked me through every step. Luckily it was a baby tooth. We were seen the very next morning, and my son received the best care. Love Dr. Tsai, she really is the best! Truly, I’m very grateful to have found this practice and our dentist. Very knowledgeable stuff. Doctor Tsai is wonderful! Very pleasant environment and as a mom I am very satisfied with a care my 6 year old received.

Fantastic experience: I live over an hour and a half away, but the drive is absolutely worth it — Dr. Tsai and her team are outstanding. When my son was just 12 months old and already had some cavities, most places told me I’d have to wait until he was 2 to put him under anesthesia for treatment. Thankfully, I found Dr. Tsai, who offered non-invasive options that didn’t require anesthesia. My son is now 3, and I couldn’t be happier with the care he’s received and the results. Fantastic experience: BEST PEDIATRIC DENTIST EVER!!! Dr. Tsai and the team are so knowledgable, kind, and helpful! This is not just a typical pediatric dentist practice, they go above and beyond in so many ways that I have never experienced anywhere else. I have heard so many stories about them using smart no shots / no drills procedures that other places won't even offer but are much better for the kids. It is so clear that they will go through as much effort as it takes to do the treatments that are 1) the safest for the patients, 2) the most effective in the long term, and 3) the most comfortable / least "scary" for the kids! I've heard about cases where they have spent weeks preparing for a procedure that no other practice will do just because it is so much effort to prepare for, but the team here will happily do the work because it is more comfortable for the kid and also way more effective. The results they are able to achieve while keeping the kids always happy are astounding! There is a reason that they are rated so highly. Anyone looking for a pediatric dentist in Carlsbad or the San Diego area needs to check this place out! The office is also such a welcoming and fun environment! The rooms in the office are so open and spacious unlike a lot of the cramped spaces I've seen at other places. They're like 3x as big as what I've seen before and can easily fit a family! The office has an ocean theme which is super fun to visit. (I attached some images of the office I found online to show what I mean.) It doesn't even feel like a "dentist office", it honestly feels like the type of place I would want to have a birthday party as a kid! Plus, everyone I have met there has been so amazingly kind and really cares about doing a great job! Even outside of the practice, Dr. Tsai has been so knowledgable and helpful about random specific dental questions I have had! She has such an in-depth level of expertise on so many topics that it's amazing she can keep everything in her brain. And everybody else at the office matches her level of enthusiasm, excitement, knowledge, and passion for making a difference! They are not only professional and highly educated, but are also genuinely the most kind and down-to-earth people I have ever met. Simply put, they put kids and families first, and excel at providing safe and comfortable treatments like no other place I've ever seen! Fantastic experience: Best place for my little 16 mon old baby, had a okay place and beautiful setting. The staff was amazing too as they explained and taught me what to do. They paid attention to our routine to make sure we can add the teeth brushing habit. They also were great when he was crying, that was very important for him. He also got little goody bag to start us off on our moth journey!

Fantastic experience: Come to Dr Tsai!!!! Where do I start? Before pediatric smiles, I was at Peak and my young son had a cavity. Because he was on the younger side, the Dr immediately recommended he go under to fill the cavity. This felt insane to me, he wouldn’t even try to see if my son would handle it well… I did some research and heard of Dr. Tsai working with patients his age, and guess what? My son did the procedure like a champ, and he has a track record of not doing well at these things. Why did he do so well? The entire team is so kind, so warm, so caring that any kid would feel so comfortable. It was like watching an F1 pit stop with how fast, yet calm they filled the cavity. Easiest thing ever!!! All of the staff are so kind! Tiffany is so sweet, like angel being so gentle and sweet towards little kids to make them feel comfortable! Also, Peak recommend my kid have 3 cavities filled while under … dr tsai only did 1 and we did treatment (the black thing) on the others. What a joke! So glad I did not subject my kid to going under and getting more done than he needed to. A conservative approach to dentist care for kids

Fantastic experience: This is hands down the best pediatric Dentist. I went to several Dentists for my kids until I found CarlsbaDDS Pediatric. They are compassionate and dedicated to providing the best support to families and care for the children. Dr. Tsai, Jenny and Katie are extremely patient, caring and truly make it a safe fun place for the kids. My kids loved going here and even get a fun gift at the end of the visit. It truly is built with kids comfort in mind. Gone are the days of tantrums to go to the dentist. Now they look forward to going, brushing and flossing their teeth. There is no up sales and even suggest simple items on amazon to help keep clean and healthy smiles. Dr. Tsai made it a point to contact us later in the day after hours to see if there were any questions or concerns we might of had following the appointment. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Tsai did what nobody else said was possible! I'm beyond grateful for her research, dedication, confidence, and superb care for my son. My 15 year old had discoloration on his two front teeth, most likely due to an unknown injury when he was young. Every dentist and cosmetic dentist wanted to give him a veneer, even though his teeth were healthy. However, Dr. Tsai encouraged us to save his healthy teeth, which we agreed on, and she decided to treat them with a resin infiltraion and external bleaching process. He ultimately needed 9 etching treatments, a very lengthy process, which Dr. Tsai and her amazing assistant Myra skillfully and diligently worked on until my son could smile confidently for the first time. His front teeth went from discolored, white and brown spots and a chip, to perfectly blended and shaped. It's a night and day difference! Before the lengthy appointment, I asked Dr. Tsai if she was up for the challenge. With confidence and and excitement, she said, "oh yeah!" She seriously is THE BEST! Thanks Dr. Tsai and Myra, you have our trust!

Fantastic experience: I found CarlsbaDDS Pediatric Smiles after my family dentist found two cavities at my son’s most recent cleaning. Initially I was just looking for a dentist that could take care of his treatment needs faster than my family dentist. After working with them they are going to be our new pediatric dentist! From the moment I called the office I was impressed by the level of care. The office staff called me back to inform me of what would and wouldn’t be covered by my insurance so I wouldn’t be surprised by anything at our consultation. At his first consultation to look at the cavities everyone was so friendly and communicative. The dentist was thorough and focused on prevention of any further problems. They scheduled us in a timely manner and were very upfront about the plan of care and cost to me! When he had his cavities filled they were again upfront and communicative and took the conservative but effective approach. My son was so thrilled that he got to pick out a prize for doing so well. They explained everything to him, made him feel comfortable and encouraged him for how brave he was! At our follow-up appointment for a second application of a preventive measures we worked with Dr. Tsai. I am so impressed and thankful for the level of care she provided. She spoke to my son about his eating habits without any judgment and taught him different strategies to help keep his mouth healthy. She took the time to teach him how to floss with the floss sticks he prefers to use. She also spent time educating me on toothpaste and mouthwash. I never knew to look at the level of acidity of my toothpaste or mouthwash. She also taught us both how and when to use those products to keep my son’s teeth healthy! After both appointments staff reached out to see how Caleb was and follow up to see if we had any questions! I am so thrilled I found CarlsbaDDS Pediatric Smiles! I highly recommended you take your children to them!

They were able to use a non-injection anesthetic called Synapse Dental Pain Eraser for my daughter which really helped with her anxiety while they were working.by making the procedure painless. The staff here are always super friendly and the office is kept immaculately! The dentists here do a really great job and make great effort to involve you in what is going on and what can be done on your end to help correct any issues. Also, the front desk goes above and beyond to make sure you pay as little as possible, that your child has a great experience and can answer all your questions. Great experience every time we have an appointment.

Fantastic experience: We went through a few other dentists with my young children and none of them were even close to the professionalism and fun of Pediatric Smiles. The team here does a wonderful job of making "going to the dentist" exciting for my children. They are great with helping the kids understand what they are doing to help their teeth. My three and five year old are both already excited to go back for their next cleaning. I only wish my trips to the dentist were as exciting as my children's.

Fantastic experience: My two year old has been going here for a year now. Today we came in for our visit and had Tiffany as our hygienist. She was the most patient and kind to my daughter. She absolutely took every extra moment to make sure she was completely comfortable with every step of the visit and it paid off because my daughter didn’t shed one tear! This office is so perfect for kids, it has so many sweet surprises that actually make it feel like a treat to visit instead of a dread. From the movies playing when you walk in, the giant octopus filled with toys, the play kitchen, train set and doll house - my daughter legitimately didn’t want to leave and made me stay for 15 minutes after her appointment was done! She left with stickers, a ring, toothbrush, a toy, a lollipop and a balloon. Very spoiled! I would highly recommend this office, Tiffany and Dr. Tsai especially. They know exactly how to make kids comfortable at the dentist (my daughter keeps asking if we can go back tomorrow!)

She is always excited to come, the decor of the place is super cute, the staff is super friendly and always makes mom and kiddo feel welcome and relaxed while at the office. Fantastic experience: My kids (6 & 2yo) LOVE coming to their denist! The office is playfully decorated and all the staff are so patient and calm. I deeply appreciate all the extra things they do to make it a positive experience, from slowly explaining things directly to the kids, to letting them feel the instruments on their hands and choose their flavors. The "fun stuff" like movies on the ceiling and prizes are also a big hit. I feel my kids are being set up for a lifelong relationship with their teeth, and wish my own dentist was this fun. Tiffany was absolutely fantastic with my son, who was having some trouble with the buzzing of the toothbrush. She was patient, offered breaks, did countdowns, everything to help him through the process. Absolutely wonderful experience all around, and the kids are already asking to come back!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jesse and assistant Sam were so great. My son had a loose baby molar with a braces wire attached, which was preventing the tooth from coming out. Dr. Jesse snipped the wire and out popped the tooth. Super funny and my son was so relieved to have it out. Thanks Dr. Jesse and Sam!

Fantastic experience: A friend recommended CarlsbaDDS and I’m so glad she did. Dr Tsai and her team are so caring & calm. They have movies on for the kids to watch while they lay in the chair, they always explain things, I never feel any sales pressure like some dentists and they have balloons, stickers and lots of other prizes they give the kids after their appt. My son never wants to leave! I wish I had had a dentist experience like this when I was a kid! He literally gets excited when I tell him he needs to go to the dentist. Heck, if they took adults, I would use them as my dentist too! Highly recommend them!

Fantastic experience: We love love love CarlsbaDDS pediatric smiles both of my girls love coming to the dentist! After having some not so great dental experiences in the past this place is a breath of fresh air! Dr. Tsai is amazing and so gentle and her assistant Myra is amazing! She is very kind and knows how to properly educate a child on their dental habits. Both Dr. Tsai and Myra made my 5 year old feel very comfortable during her filling. The front office is amazing as well, great customer service and very welcoming. As a patient with dental anxiety coming here has even made me feel more comfortable going to my own dentist. Great place highly recommend!
