Only our licensed dentists diagnose and recommend specific treatments.

Regarding the crown, primary (baby) teeth are vital for chewing, speech, and holding space for permanent teeth. A crown is often recommended for cavities in baby molars to protect the tooth from further decay and ensure it remains functional until it's naturally ready to fall out. It also protects the child from pain caused by further cavity growth.

The process of baby teeth becoming "loose" and eventually falling out is a natural and expected part of a child's development, regardless of whether they have a crown or filling. This loosening indicates that the permanent tooth below is ready to erupt.
